Killinthomas Wood in Ros Comain
Description
Privilege
Beautiful woodland walk. Gorgeous anytime of the year but spring is particularly beautiful for its display of bluebells and wild garlic.
MoreLovely walks, popular, mixed woodland
Really nice for young families. Interesting mix of tree types and path types. Area for branch huts and good for picnics.
MoreJust a really nice forest walk, bit too rough for buggies but lovely
Magical place in spring. Lovely spot for picnics or walk.
Nice place , quiet and relaxing walking . Very tidy and clean
Love it ,so calm and the fairy areas keep the kids interested
It is such a quiet and lovely forest, we loved to walk there. Had a very precious time there as a family.
Morenice wood, not too big but has nice walks. parking is fine for the location but can get busy on weekends and holidays. Bluebells cover the floor of the forest during spring along with wild garlic, awesome for pesto.nive range of mushrooms grow here and has a lot of Holly trees around the back. In response to the one star review, killinthomas is NOT being cut down nor is there any sign of a casino in the bog.
MoreGreat amenity for the people of Rathangan and surrounding areas. Very peaceful and fantastic walks.
MoreLovely Forest walk with clearly marked trails, very enjoyable!
Love going here for a walk with my family and dog. Its so peaceful with only the sound of the birds chirping above you. Lots of wild garlic there at the moment so its smells devine. Great space for kids to play and plenty of picnic benches for a break. Theres very creative fairly gardens and little huts to explore too. Some routes arent buggy friendly but theres plenty more you can take that are.
MoreVery relaxing stoll through the wood. Has a small carpark which is great but can get very busy in the afternoons. Many different paths to take depending on your fitness level and all loop so youll always find you way back to the carpark.
MoreGreat walks, long or short. Full of wild garlic when in season.
Lovely place for a walk..lots of wild garlic.
Loved it. Fantastic for all the family (including the dogs).
Absolutely beautiful spot, this is one of my favorite places to take a walk.
Well worth the stop. So nice to be able to get some time in a forest
Great place to enjoy nature work family and pets kids can enjoy on their bikes too.

MoreBluebells & Buskers may 2022.. Also Great Walking tracks through a picturesque scenery
MoreBeautiful place, stunning walks. Full of bluebells and wild garlic today
Really nice managed woods with multiple walking trails and nice range of trees. Nice for Bluebell flowers at the right time of the year. Parking for about 12 cars at main entrance.
MoreLovely walk in nature.
1of the most beautiful places that I have ever been in you could walk for days and every track has a name how could you get lost just amazing peace and quiet just you and your dog love it.
MoreLovely place for a walk. The trails are clearly marked, longest one is 1700mts. You could spend a good few hrs just exploring the different trails. The car park is a bit small but it is free. Will definitely come back once blue bells are in bloom.
MoreBeautiful, peaceful forest walk. The only thing to note is its not particularly pram friendly. The shortest route is the only route gravelled so if you want a long walk like I do youll have to do laps, still a lot I have to explore there as a result
MoreAmazing spot for a lovely walk with the dog. 😁
Fantastic woods, loads of parking, great for kids and dogs, loads of benches too
Beautiful forest works. Lovely picnic benches to sit at. Really enjoyed wandering around the forest with my family. Only downside that we went looking for the red walk and it took a bit of a search. Not labelled as red at all but sign only for ballydermot walk when you can see the yellow walk markings for the camp walk.
MoreLovely place if your looking for just a walk. Bonus, its free.
Beautiful walks in the wood. Some fairy doors and tree swings for the kids but dont come looking for much amenities beyond nature. Small carpark but never too busy. A great option for a nice walk and picnic if in the area.
MoreFirst time going after being told how lovely it was. I have to say it was great weather and even though the entrance to it is horrendous with cars,( I feel sorry for the residents therewe enjoyed every minute of it. The Bluebells are amazing and the Wild Garlic was everywhere, the smell was intoxicating. Its a great place for families with small children.
MoreBeautiful place for a walk especially during May for the Bluebells and wild garlic
MoreNice woods just outside Rathangan. Lovely display of bluebells and then wild garlic later on. Some well laid out paths to follow. The car park is ridiculously small, so on weekends it is full. People park on the approach road, which can cause issues for the local residents. There are no toilet facilities.
MoreA beautiful forest park near the centre of kildare. If you join up the loop trails you can cover about 5km around the edge of the forest and theres atleast another 5km of trails through the centre. Really well maintained forest park with regular picnic tables and wide open main trails to make it easy to access the various loops.
MoreVery nice long walk around this lovely forest recommend it to enyone who loves walking
MoreFantastic. Could walk there for hours just beautiful
great place for walking dog
Absolutely gorgeous walk, there’s 4 different walks in this wood depending on if you want a small loop or a longer walk, it is so scenic and lots of clearings to stop and let the kids run around and have fun. Also a fairy tree on one of the small loops
MoreA wonderful peaceful and well kept woods. Paths are well signposted. Its a beautiful place for walks alone or with the family. Each season has delights to be seen in the woods.
MoreIt was a lovely forest, at this time of the year the ground was mucky and fairly sleepy due to fallen autumn leaves. I think this is a really good place to bring your dogs for walks and it would be good for anyone who is into fitness as the long walkways make good running tracks. I would definitely come back here in spring and summer.
MoreLovely wood, great space & walks
Peaceful, spotless and a little garden of eden 🌳🌳🌳
Great place for a short walk. Forest looks enchanted.
Lovely Woods for all the family, few things to note: Small Carpark (but free), dont bring scooters or cheap buggys.
MoreThis is a great wood with Plenty of parking. Lots of trails to do and very clean. There is plenty to explore and ample seating areas throughout the walkways.
MoreLovely place to walk, free parking
Great forest park. Perfect for families and with dogs
