This place is great. If you want a truly german experience this the place. Great service and food.......and beer.

Not very satisfying service.

We ordered two meals, waited for 45 minutes for the food, and when we asked how much longer it would be, the waitress did not remember that we ordered from her or what we ordered. Could have been acceptable if the place had been packed with people but it definitely was not. At the table next to us another couple sat, and she had forgetten their food as well. After she asked about what we had ordered, she spent 10 more minutes ignoring us again. We payed for the beer then and left. Really really poor service in every sense.

An authentique place in the center of Kiel Altstadt, where you can enjoy your brewed beer. Staff who served beer was really kind and friendly. Can’t say the same though for the staff who stands at the entrance.

We had a gulasch soup and a German sausage with potatoes and sauerkraut. Tasted good. And of course some local beer to that. Great atmosphere inside the pub.

Not many customers at lunchtime, first warning bell. Beer ok, what you can expect from traditional German lager style. Food way under the wanted standard, schnitzel without taste. Last time for me to eat here. Have been to this place the last 10 years and have seen the standard dropping for each visit. Sad but true.

Waiter was not in mood. First he gave my friend the wrong order. Then he forgot the flat water. Lastly he ran out to tell us that we didnt pay for the food, which we made very clearly that we wanted to pay for the whole table.

Cute place with lots of outdoor seating, authentic looking inside. We only had beer when we visited since we had just ate but it was good beer and reasonable priced.

Heard much nice review about the place and so, decided to try. The ambiance is nice, along with nice food in the menu. Was assisted by a friendly staff. I had pork belly with a special mustard sauce, it was heavenly. Coupled with the seasonal house brew beer, it was perfect for a dinner.I would love to revisit to try out other items in the menu. Love this place.

Great spot! We reserved the back of the restaurant for a large party (around 30-40 peopleand we had great service the whole time. The staff was friendly and the food was great! Most of the staff spoke English and were very helpful to us.

We had salmon plate and another fish plate . The salmon plate was almost like a pasta / goulash , but nevertheless... Delicious.

We visited the Kieler Brauerei in 1993. It was the best bier and food I experienced in 6 years living in Germany. I would love to buy their bier if sold in the United States.

A great place to sit down and have a beer or food. Or both. You can order a keg with beer of 10 or 20 liters. Great atmosphere.

Visited this great place during my time in the Navy during the sailing festival and it was amazing. A bit weird that they charge by time for all you can eat but the beer.... Oh my goodness the beer... it was amazing!

Been to better breweries with better brew and food

Tipical brauerei, noisy, own beer (not weizen, but still a good flavor and color 😁, brewed right under your feet). The food is fair and its a good match for the Kieler bock beer. Service is nice, polite and fast. At times it can be crowded, but hey, what is a brauerei good for? 😏 Ein mass!!!

When night falls on Kiel and most places are closed, this is the place to be. The beer self brewed, the atmosphere is great and even the tourists aren’t a bother. The food is good and the drive is descent. Definitely a must.

One of the best beer in town. A homemade brewery with sweet beer. But be carefull, you will love your first glas of "kieler beer". The staff is pretty friendly and you can eat good also. As a bonus, you are able to order barrels to your table and for the home customers there is an delivery service available.One of that must be places in Kiel or the entire north germany.

Love the bitter and sweet Kiel beer. The table service was great. The food was excellent. A lot of selection from german and local cuisines, like Haxe and fried Herring.There is live music show and dance event every Friday evening.

Although cluttered with tourists, the environment is cozy and pleasant. The rustic food is very tasty & filling. There are several great beer brands to choose from. Avoid the brew of the house - low carb, too warm & unclear appearance. Prices are still reasonable, but the tourist pressure is pushing them in the wrong direction...

Nice enough place with house-made beer and lots of seating. A little bit kitschy and tacky though, and not my favourite beer unfortunately.

Bland and boring prefabricated food. Avoid if anything else is open.

Tasteful food and excellent beer!

Local pils beer is very nice and doesnt taste as a regular pils type beer. Tried also Bierkutachersteaks - fantastic one for a hungry traveller. Waitress was also very kind even without speaking English
