Khlong Nonsi Water Fall - Tourist attraction in Trat, Thailand
Nice hidden waterfall
This place would be amazing in rainy session. Its quite dry now but still worth a visit and you can cool off in some pools. There are 4 tiers.
Free to visit, short walk from the car park... Go up the road to the left of the municipal building, maps will send you up the road to the right which takes you to some private houses.Nice little waterfall, a bit dry at the moment but there are several pools with enough water for a dip. Very clean and fairly easy to walk to/along. Just be careful on some of the rocks! Oh, we saw a snake too.
Not much water
Small little waterfall, not very exciting
Low on Water but nothing to pay, so its ok and a nice place
Amazing waterfall, has two pools, access not too difficult and very close from the road. Had lots of water at this time of year and free!!
HANDY NOTE! - I didnt realise, and couldnt find any info stating as such, that most of the waterfalls on Koh Chang are closed or made inaccessible between 1st June - 31st of August each year. Those not manned by the ranger service have trees placed over walkways to stop you getting in. BUT THIS IS NOT THE CASE FOR KHLONG NONSI.Nice small/medium tiered waterfall. A very pleasant spot for a few hours. Accessed by the road at the side of the municipal offices, which has a blue but very faded sign to point the way, you can drive right up to within 50m of the falls. We went as a family including a 3 and 5 year old and didnt have a problem but they needed assistance to get up to the 2nd tier as there are a few boulders to hop around and over. Dont be tricked by the first tier which you see as soon as you arrive, cross immediately over the river and follow it up to some concrete steps which go to tier 2. We didnt attempt tier 3 as it was raining and the track was slippy, and were already happy with tier 2.From here you can see down to tier 1 and up to tier 3 anyway so fine for us. The water is fresh and crystal clear. On this level there are 2 pools, one a few feet higher than the other due to a man made dam which creates an artificial 1m waterfall from one pool to the other. The pools are quite rocky with gaps inbetween large rocks so careful with the kids as the water will be 30cm deep on a rock then 1 step away up to 1m drop, the higher pool is deeper.Kids loved it and I preferred it over the more commonly visited Thanom Mayom and Khlong Plu. But, this one doesnt seem to have the fish as the others do, whether that be the larger ones that just swim around or the small ones that give you a free foot spa. Taking this into account as well as the uneven pool floor and tougher access with kids the children will much prefer one of the other falls. Id recommend Thanom Mayom due to shallow pools, abundance of fish, really easy access and even pool floor. The only reason Id say this one over Khlong Plu is the pool there gets pretty deep and tends to be much busier being on the busy East side of the island.Only other thing to mention is the blue pipes as pointed out in many places. They do disturb the natural look somewhat, cant deny that. I dont mind them personally, a minor point. Knowing that the village nearby is using the natural resource for their home water supply and irrigation is fine by me, Id prefer that over the stuff that I get through my pipes so fair play to them!
Free waterfall that is definitely worth visiting. Very quiet and the trail is not exactly defined but keep going up until you find the one in these pics. Deep enough to swim during my visit end of Dec.
Nice Views! But Swimming is not fun enough for adults ! But minors are good to be here!
Great island and waterfall aswell
Little water but with potential. Dont get fooled by the first stop. Continue upwards through the tricky path to reach the real waterfall. A lot of pipes though
Entrance to either of the two main falls on Koh Chang, Klong Plu on the west coast and Than Mayom on the east requires payment of the National Park entrance fee. However, there are other falls that can be visited easily and free of charge. Klong Nonsi is one of the free waterfalls on Koh Chang. It lies on the northern fringe of Dan Mai village on the east coast of the island.Head round to the east coast on your rental scooter, past the local hospital on your right and a couple of minutes ride further south you should see a homemade blue sign for the waterfall on your right. On your left, 50 metres south is a small coffeeshop and if you continue another 200 metres or so then you will reach the island’s main police station on your right and a paved road leading down to the old pier at Dan Mai on your left.Following the sign brings you to a makeshift car park outside someone’s house. A sign requests that you pay 10 Baht for parking your bike, 30 Baht for a car and there is a biscuit tin honesty box for you to drop your coins or note into. From here the waterfall is about 10-15 minutes easy walk through fruit fields. You will pass through Durian, Longan and Mangosteen fields – in that order.Just follow the obvious well worn path – which is used by local farmers too – to the river. On the way you will pass a couple of handpainted signed one of which is near a narrow concrete footbridge and says the waterfall is only 50 metres away. It isn’t. Once you reach the river bank go down the moss covered steps and cross, you will get your feet wet, then make your way upstream a short distance. The first level is easily visible and a climb up another set of concrete steps by the first fall and this will bring you to the upper levels. Here there are a couple of small pools where you can swim. The falls aren’t huge but from May to November, when you can be assured that they have plenty of water in them, it makes for a pleasant detour on a trip around the island.
Free visit, cute place. Where alone so not a turist magnet. That is allways a bonus. If you visit, keep climbing up and you Will see a Even nicer waterfall
Hey here is a waterfall you can visit for free! But be sure to wear shoes which give you secure footing. You need to fit to go there anyway. The path is changing.
Rain season this waterfall Amazing
i find it very strong current. i lost my sleepers
Water is so clear
Great place to visit and go all the way up to see the best part of it
Good
Went on 22 May and it was all dried up. We thought with the rain we have had there would be some but no. If theres water Im sure it awesome.
I went there, and there’s no people and also there’s no water as well!!It’s a dry season in april
It could be a nice place but all the water had disappeared.
Nice place to spend a couple of hours ,good shoes are a must really though as the going is a bit rough underfoot.Would have given it a bigger star rating as I think it is a lot more impressive than when we saw it as there wasnt much water there as it was the dry season
Beautiful. Easy path to walk up to forth waterfall.
Well, its a bit invisible in early March :)
Nice small pull
I have been there in February (i guess is dry season). I had to go to the 3rd level to find a pond where u can have a nice refreshing bath with little fishes but very little water actually falling. The locals polluted the environment with PVC tubes to try to get water from the fountain and this makes a little of an ugly scene.
A great place which had no entrance fee and we were the only guests that moment. Not much water that season (jan/2019though.Follow the ropes and hoses up to the second level (at the leftas we were very disappointed at the first moment. Be careful when climbing up. Especially if there is noone else who could help you in case of a problem. You dont want to get stuck here ;-)
Probably really great when it is not dry season😉
No waterfall
Lovely place. We jumped and swam in the little lagoon. There are not many people because you need climb little bit to get to the waterfall.
Nice, but not spectacular. Didnt have too much water by the end of December. On the plus side, there werent too many tourists there. However the scenery is disturbed by pipes. The path is easy to follow, but youd better wear shoes or know how to wall on flip flops very well.
Beautiful
nice waterfall.
Sehr schöner abgelegener Wasserfall. Es ist sehr abenteuerlich da man bis zum Wasserfall einige Höhenmeter erklimmen muss. Festes Schuhwerk wäre von Vorteil, ich selber war mit flipflops ganz oben.
Keep going all the way to the top, you wont regret it. The last two levels are excellent spots. Follow the ropes and other visitors
A waterfall visited by a small amount of tourists, app 4-5 people(in November. Locals usually go there, they smoke weed, jump from rock and have a bath and I mean a bath with soap and shampoo.
My favorite waterfall in Koh Chang. Not only is it free, you don’t have to hike to find the waterfall. The only down side with this place are the plastic pipes the villagers use for a water source. The waterfall has 3-4 layers that you can get to easily and definitely big and deep enough to have a good swim. Easy to get to. Good cement roads.
Отличный водопад. Пока денег за вход не берут. Надеюсь так и будет дальше. Водопад из Нескольких уровней, дорожка есть только до первого, далее джунгли. Обязательна удобная, не скользкая обувь
GO! level 3!! cool!
Very nice placeClear blue waterFree access
One of the best for its multiple cascades and ease of access. Free to visit, but the climb and crossings can be a challenge in the rainy season. Not worth it in the dry season, but then most of them arent then
Waterfall fodder in the jungles. We were so happy to find it!
Small waterfall and free to visit. The climb to the waterfall can be a bit hazardous. Water levels were very low when I went.
Beautiful cascades waterfalls. Higher you get, less the people. Just 50metres from parking at end of the road.
magnificent
