Floating market & food venue with vendors in wooden boats filled with goods & souvenirs for sale.
Its worth a visit, especially if youre a food lover and wish to try many different dishes and desserts. Nearby parking cost us ฿20.
We live close by this market, so we visit often. Its nice to just come for breakfast or lunch on the weekends to browse the market and then pick out all the foods you want to eat and then scout a table to enjoy all your finds. Theres everything from Khao soi to fruit and smoothies, boat noodles to grilled fish. Try as much as you can! There are also little boat tours that will take you around the small canals to see life behind the scenes from a new perspective.
If you are looking for an activity nearby Bangkok and wanna become a shopper, here is the one you should visit. There is a variety of items such as veggies, dessert, craft etc. everything is so cheap.
Bustling with stalls and filled with incredible sights and smells. There are loads of options to eat at reasonable prices, so be sure to arrive hungry. The long boat tour from there took us along the channels to another nearby market and a temple and back; it was a fun way to travel and interesting to see everything along the way - even some reptilian wildlife. Definitely worth a visit.
The best floating market in Bangkok. Great food and not at all touristic full of Thai people and their smiles . I would recommend a taxi drive to reach it (try Bolt app and not Grab cause its cheaper)
Once you are in Bangkok the first plan you make is to go to Floating Market. Best prices - very water floating experience. You always get deals from the local manufacturer. Great and recommended to everyone!
Very attractive place to try all kinds of Thai traditional meal. Cheap, clean, delicious, unique and appetizing.
Enjoyed the boat ride. The vegetables we got were also very organic and cheap. Throughly enjoyed my visit. You can get so many souvenirs to that back home… totally recommend
A place where you wish you are a cow that has four stomachs. A very local market with plenty of food choices
An amazing place to eat and shop multiple things. Also took a boat ride around the floating market which was a very good experience. ! Definitely recommend this .
Date of visit : Sat 13th Aug 2022Time : 10+ amWhen I reached this market, I realized that I’ve been taken for a ride at another 2 so-called floating markets that I had been several years ago conducted by tours. Those 2 markets were touristic and unfortunately non authentic. This market is a huge extensive covered stand, straddling beside a khlong/canal, housing many local hawkers, opened only on weekends. We arrived early, so it was still easy to find a table for 5 besides the khlong. Many types of local food to try, my favorite still the local deep fried pork. The cannabis drink was probably just a gimmick. Wanted to try other tempting food but just too full.
Please be careful not to believe the advertisements. a bad place And dont waste your time, you wont get anything from the boat ride. Driving through dirty sewage, a flower garden that was so small that it only took a minute to walk around the garden. and only the merchants spoke badly.
A weekend floating market in Bangkok. Lots of food and drink to enjoy, good vibe, friendly vendors.
Good place to chill out during weekend. Please visit before noon to avoid crowds.
This floating market has a boat that takes you to an orchid farm (THB 400 for 2 pax; private boat). They have lots of food options here as well. But do come early as most stalls are closed in the late afternoon.
Affordable price for everything and bargain is no need. But most stall are food only, not so much choice for handcraft, clothing or accessories. Good experience overall
Definitely a must visit and do get there before 10am to beat the crowds. Lots of tasty and cheap food with a great ambiance. Vendors are friendly and offer you samples to try. The long tail boat ride through the river were interesting too. One of the better ones to visit that attracts lots of locals too.
Definitely worth visiting! Less touristic and great atmosphere. Recommend to go in the morning. A lot of choice of food and drinks. Discovered many new dishes.
Hidden gem for weekend market, much better than Ayothaya
Great day trip just outside of Bangkok. Very little tourists as it is a local hotspot. The market specialty is grilled salt-crusted fish, usually Tilapia. It’s delicious and relatively cheap. Boat tours are available for 100 baht per person and go for 45 mins.
It is one amongst the best floating markets in Thailand Bangkok. Opens only on weekends i e. Saturday and Sunday. Timings from 8am to 5pm. Ticket price for a private boat is 300 Thai baht per person and for the shared boat 100 Thai baht per person. Its a very different and unique experience and highly recommended. They also take you to 2 places on a boat - the Buddha temple and the Orchid garden which are decent enough.
This is a real thai market, worth visiting. Bigger and more diverse vs Thaling Chan.Use Grab app to get a cheap ride.Besides eating delicious thai meals, tasting all unique fruits, you can have a thai massage here, as well as a canal boat trip. Definitely worth it.
Very cool market :And you can take a boat trip for 60-150 THB
Nice place to relax, very good food and not expensive
Cheap price and good experience. Before I go other crazy expensive. Should go here. Many food to eat too .
Great place to visit. Certainly come early to avoid the hot part of the day and the crowds that come later. Lots of choices for food. Inexpensive priced.
Be sure to come prepared with water and a towel, as the place can get crowded and stuffy especially during afternoons.Youll be rewarded with lots of food and local snacks. It isnt a floating market per se, but you can take a 50 min boat ride from 2pm onwards to visit the nearby village.
Oh it was so much fun!! This probably is more authentic floating market that is less touristy compared to other famous one among international travelers. It looks most customers are Thai, meaning the prices are local price. You have LOTS of food options including endless food stalls and some restaurants and cafes at the end part of the market. We opted to get couple of different snacks and plates from food vendors, only one thing missing was… beer! Later we noticed some restaurants offered beer,, next time!Boat ride was fun, taking us to another smaller floating market and really cute cafe next to orchid farm. We came across huge lizards cruising in the river a cii on hole of times and our kids were so excited:DIt was only 40 mins drive from heart of BKK, so this is a good place to visit on weekends.I would come back for sure and next time a bit earlier in the morning as most shops were closed when we got back from the boat ride. Highly recommended.
This is one of the more authentic floating markets in Bangkok! Its much less touristy, most visitors here are local. This also means the food and vendors are more affordable and catered towards local tastes. The market is mostly food, honestly so much food that I was spoilt for choice. I recommend the Kanom Buang, its a especially large one.Theres also another side selling fresh fruits and vegetables. Bought a Japanese melon for 50B. Extreme value here
It is one of best floating market that I’ve been to, actually I would rank it as the best so far, people there are so friendly and kind, you can try or taste most of the things there, the price comparing to other floating market is a lot cheaper here, and it’s not so far from BKK just travel by MRT Fai Chai station and then taxi just 80-100฿, even this covid pandemic more than 80% of the shops are still open! great escape for the weekend trip! Highly recommended!!!
My favorite weekend market. Conveniently located 10 minutes from MRT Phasicahreon. There are hundreds of food stalls, fresh seasonal fruits, unique Thai designed clothes and hand crafts. Great for family fun boat rides. Go early because it gets hot even before noon.
Lovely place to lost yourself until you start knowing where are things more or less in this little big floating market. Its not the most famous market, but it just make it more special and obviously it has less people than the one in the middle of Bangkok, I mean, you can breath and pass through. Just try everything, come hungry and early and start eating everything until you cant anymore its a nice experience there is everything, any kind you of Thai food.. is there! And amazing treats as well. They make it in the moment just in front of you sometimes. You can go for a tour in a little boat about 45 min to an hour, be careful sometimes there is a long queue but it goes fast. You visit some places, with temples or where they cultive beautiful flowers. I found the boat trip nicer than the places we visited but everyone can have a different opinion! Otherwise just come for the floating market and amaze your eyes, nose and mouth! Enjoy
Khlong floating market is one of the most popular floating markets of Bangkok. We reached there by cab. As you approach the place the traffic gets denser so you can drop down a little ahead and walk some distance.Once you reach there it’s difficult to find the place to get a boat. A little help from locals should be able to guide you to the boat ride. The ride is around an hour and a half. They take you through the narrow canals in a Long boat with around 12 people in one. The boat stops at the market where you can see various vendors selling food items off their boats in the canal. It also stops at an orchid nursery. There are nice plants and some garden decor stuff that you can buy from here as souvenirs. It’s really hot during the day time so it would be advisable to wear a lot of sunscreens as well as carry along with a scarf with you to cover in the boat. Don’t try to put your hands in the canal water as the water contains dangerous animals like Monitor lizard. There are options for some seafood available at the market but it would be good to carry along if you are a vegetarian. The ticket is not very expensive compared to other visiting points in the city..
This place is the bomb. The food here is outstanding and the prices are fair. I went to Amphawa market two days ago and it was pretty good, but Lat Mayom is definitely the better one. Locals go there, people are friendly and theres lots to eat, buy, see and do.A metered taxi from Khao San will set you back 120-130 THB.Try the mussels with different toppings, the pork and seafood omelettes.I saw people with tour guides, but honestly I dont think you need one. Roam the narrow alleys and eat whatever looks good to you.Enjoy!
We got there early and it was not too busy. By midday it was packed! But a wonderful sensory experience.
Nice place for a visit~ very local, with only a few tourists. This market is good for food, not for shopping. Seems close quite early, most of the shops start to close at about 3pm. The boat tour is really worth taking~ 100THB for 1hour tour, and you can visit Wat Sapan and a flower market. Quite a interesting and unexpected visit.
This floating market is the highlight of our Bangkok travel. It has the best selections of food at the lowest prices I have ever seen in Thailand. You can do a boat ride at 50 - 100 B along the canal. People are super-nice, they encourage you to try a sample before you buy it. You can also stroll through the pier where you can come across beautiful nature & a little outdoor museum. I really enjoyed everything about this market. I will miss this.
We loved it! You can get here from the city by Grab for like 150 baht +-? Place is so huge, it got around 6 areas that you can explore and huge neverending food markets! You can get literally anything there and try a lot of stuff for very little money. Definitely get a boat ride! We got a paddle one and it had amazing atmosphere. You can also get a motor boat that is noisy and crowded, also at least double the price. Floating market is a must visit place while in thailand so dont miss your chance. We had a great time.
This is a more authentic floating market that the locals go to, with less tourist groups. It’s not far away from city center, around 30-40 min ride. It opens on weekends. We tried the very fresh fruits and sea food, very reasonable price (coco nut 15 Thai Baht each). The boat tour is a must try, it takes you deep into the tranquil waterfront local residential area (of course you need to bargain the price, but people seem to be reasonable). Really a great way to taste some flavour of local life in Bangkok. Highly recommended!
What a great experience it was to hang out with the natives today at this lovely market! Visiting with my family from the US and couldnt leave without checking this off my list. It was super hot and humid but I stuck it out due to the charm of this market. There wasnt any touristy merchandise for sell because this is a spot that the locals enjoy, so dont expect that. Do expect fresh, authentic, local foods and beverages and a host of everyday use items. I was even very pleasantly delighted to find a vegan food vendor with delicious food made from local plants that I cant name (pic included). My favorite experience was a 1-hr boat ride that boarded from market for 100 baht. We passed residences, other floating businesses, a few temples, and were even allowed 15 minutes off the boat to shop at 2 other floating markets.Yet another 3 perks of Khlong Lad Mayom are that theres a coffee cafe with free wifi adjacent to the parking lot and the market; a plant farm with beautiful, potted greenery for sale; and the large, fresh fruit market (non-floating and coveredlocated a short walk across the street. If you drive, youll have to pay for parking and Im not sure how much since I had a driver, but Im sure it nominal. The are also many cabs circling the area for those who need a lift.I was supposed to also visit the nearby Taling Chan Market but ended up here 4 hrs, including the boat ride. I changed my mind and went straight back to the house feeling fully inducted into the floating marketers club.
Great experience at the market. We saw this on some YouTube videos and a Netflix special and definitely wanted to check it out. We visited the market with a local tour guide booked via Airbnb. Got to sample many market delicacies and saw a variety of Thai goods. Definitely recommend a trip if youre in Bangkok.
The best floating market in Thailand I already visited 4-5 places but here is the most impressive place. Also you can try to riding boat with $100 for 1 hr. It is ok. Just ok. The price of foods and beverages are not bad. I strongly recommend this place but here is outdoor sometimes super hot.
Best prices for fruit and vegetables that Ive seen at floating markets. Large selection of fresh cooked foods. Plenty of seating areas to eat. Prices are clearly marked with most venders. Did not see beer anywhere. Went on a Saturday some van loads of tourist made up about 10% of visitors in my calculations. Vendors can speak English pretty good and have pictures to point to of what to eat. When you are seated eating some will come around with menus from different venders. What a great idea you dont have to give your seat up to get the food. You order and when food arrives you pay.
Local friend kind enough to brought us here! A lot of great Thai food, in very good price. Lunch time may get a bit busy and have to wait for table. But overall fantastic experience!!
One of the best experiences in Bangkok travel. Strongly recommend. 100 baht for one hour boat tour is enough. Some tour company charges 700 baht for same program. Be careful of your money and be wise traveler and you can get exotic experience and cheap and high quality food beside the canal during passing many boats.I go and back 189/180 baht by Grab app. 21 minutes from KaoSan road to floating market. Public transport is 1 hour 40minutes. Also, big size grilled salty fish 200 baht, Thailand juice 25 baht, total less 700 baht, 23$. Be wise and enjoy yourself.
First off, the market is huge, it stretches for ages, and yet every nook and cranny is packed with people! So much food and things to look at every step, youll want to try everything. So dont make the mistake I did by eating the first thing I saw, which, in my case I lucked out as it was tasty!! (IG/FB: foodiepixies)
Fun place to walk around and try street food stalls. Its outdoors and along a small River. Kids had lots of fun sampling different foods but the iced drinks were the best given the heat! Visitors there were very nice, some even shared their food with us. Overall an awesome experience !
Awesome little place !!! Boat around the surround area of the market is 100 baht and highly recommend! I think they are all pretty much the same with a stop at the orchid farm for 20 min... all boats have an overhead fabric to provide shade, so don’t worry about the sun. I’ve seen one old guy providing rides on the canoe, the old fashioned way and it actually can be much nicer because motor boats make a lot of noise...I’ve tried getting there by bus but it was a huge headache, the bus never came after 40 minutes i took a cab from the last train station... almost the same money at the end as if I took Grab car from city center, so if you are more than one person, definitely take a cab and relax ...
Someone else described it as a market with a boat ride at the end which is spot on, but its a great market full of amazing food. Not to heavy with tourists which was nice and the boat ride was surprisingly good, just be aware that theyll drop you off at a few other markets on the trip so dont go,if youre in a hurry.
Super close to Bangkok which is a big plus if you want to visit a floating market that is less than an hours drive. Plenty of food stalls selling everything from noodles, grilled seafood, fried food, desserts, fresh fruit and veggies. Also stalls for clothing, spa products, accessories and toys.Activities range from fish spa (where fish nibble the skin off your feet and legs), to a 90 minute boat tour (100 baht for foreigners, 60 baht for Thais, 40 for kidsthat takes you through tiny canals to a temple and orchid farm.Parking is convenient, with free lots and 20 baht lots. Really recommend this market for families or just people looking for good food!
