Khao Kradong Forest Park in Buriram
Description
Privilege
Lovely volcano park, suspension bridge within park. Nice hiking
Something to do and look around in Buriram.
Great location and beatiful. You can drive easily to the top of view point area. A coffee shop there and lovely street dogs were cute 🐶
MoreGood national park... good for morning exercise..can climb up the stairs.. more than 100steps..then have nice view of Buriram
MoreAbsolutely beautiful place. Shake we missed the waterfall as I drove straight past, will make sure we see it next time!
MoreGreat views and very peaceful place. Lots of steps to climb if your feeling energetic, otherwise there is a carpark at the top 😉
MoreSeems to be a trend in recent years to build huge Buddha statues and Khao Kradong is no exception.A golden Buddha on top of this extinct volcano. No entrance fees and there is a road up but was closed when I visited due to an event. So that means you will need to walk up the stairs. From the ground it doesnt seem that steep but 1/2 way you would wish you was fitter. Thankfully going down was easier.
MoreVery nice place with great view of Chang Stadium & Buriram
Going up the stairs 6 days a week for some cardio before the gym. Great views and even better during sunrise. Great place to visit.
MoreClimbing the steps was exhausting but ok...Beautiful place to visit
Fantastic place to visit! Right now is volcano festival. A must see.
Nice views from the top of this hill. Good place to hangout if you are in buriram and looking for a place to go.
MoreWishing everyone healthy and happy 🙏🏻❤️
I was surprised to see there was a narrow paved road ( one wayto get you to the various sites located on this steep hill. (or you can hike to the lookout point and “volcanic lake”). It is definitely worth a visit. It is nice to see the grounds well maintained.
MoreGreat views, and can drive to the top
A great views from up there, can get food and drink there, and can drive right too the top, if in the area worth 30 minutes of your time
MoreBig Buddha and good place
They say this place is the highest point in buriram town. Im not sure if its true but Im sure that its really beautiful. There is a road going to this beautiful Statue you dont need to walk all the way up those scary stairs. The road takes you directly to the statue there is allot of parking l, dont stress if you dont like to walk far but you love to see beautiful places this is your go-to place in buriram town.
MoreIts a terrific place with an amazing natural vibe. Also has a great view over Buriram.
MoreNice place , great view of how flat Buriram is apart from this hill, but the car broke down and cost me B24000 with some local bush mechanic great bloke didn’t trust him when he couldn’t show the old parts he replaced, a must in Thailand.
MoreKhao Kradong , a place you should not miss when you visit Buriram Province.
Not perfect facilities and road condition
Drive up and park at the top (for the lazy, very young/old or handicappedor walk up the 297 steps to reach the summit, where youll find a big golden Buddha, overlooking a panaromic view of Buriram town (cityseveral km away. This hill is actually an ancient volcano and the mouth of it is a lower-tier in the summit and can be reached by car or foot like wise. there you will find a pond a sign for selfies and a still suspension bridge you can walk on for more photos.
MoreLost a few calories walking up those stairs! Pleasant walk amidst the trees, with a big Buddha to admire and sit and contemplate life with for a moment or 5.
MoreReally cool visit with nature.. Can get some great exercise here too, and cant beat the free entrance :)
MoreNice sunday trip. Free entrance
My family had a nice time in this park. Admission was free for farung and thai. Thank you very big.
MoreIts the steps! I go here every time I go to Buriram, to climb the 400 or so steps that lead to the top for exercise. There is statue of Buddha at the top that is used for personal and communal worship and the views over Buriram are worth a look.Walk back down the steps or take the much longer, scenic route that will take you quite a while but has some points of interest along the way. There is also a small lake a little to the right of the steps that is worth walking to: it is a photogenic area over there. In true Thai style, there is food on offer everywhere!
MoreVery big statue set on an extinct volcano. Can spend a long time walking up the steps or driving up to the top but the scenery is fantastic. Well worth a visit
MoreAn enjoyable morning taking the steps up to the buddha and looking over the main stretch of Buriram.Car and bike parking provided, we went early in the morning so was luck to go just before the hoards of tour buses arrived. We came with my girlfriends family who wanted to see the big golden buddah, after walking the steps ae had to cut out stay short. The buddah at the top of the volcano has the usual prayer candles, incense sticks, flower bouquets etc but here you also have super views over burriram. Once at the top you also have ancient relics of a small temple to view.A souvenir shop sells drinks and snacks but also offers car trips around the complex to see all other things for a small fee.Photographers are there to take photos and frame a picture of you for 150b if you want. The walk up the steps is a good exercise with plenty of squirrels to look at and also listen to the tropical birds. We only managed a couple of the things to do but what we done and saw was enjoyable, Im sure the lava flow and suspension bridge is also worth seeing if you are here.We spent just over half an hour but with all other things to do Im sure you could pass a couple of hours seeing things.
MoreVery nice park . In my opinion a mandatory spot to visit if you are in Buriram . If you like to workout grab your gym clothes
MoreNew place to explore, this is one of the landmark at Buri Ram, interesting that this place used to have volcano.
MoreNice place to visit when in Buriram. If you are fit go up with the stairs, if not you can reach the top with the car.
MoreI would like to recommend here to those who is willing to visit Buriram
Beautiful scenery, worth visiting during dawn. Remember to keep quiet and avoid drinking alcohol or smoking when being nearby the statue
MoreNice place to visit. You can see Buriram view from the top
large Buddha sitting on top of an old volcano and beautiful
Nice place with a wonderful view over Buriram
Nice area :one of little places where foreigners not have to pay 5x more :)
Easy to find, big Golden Buddha at the top, can either drive to the top, or walk the many steps, old volcanic Area, interesting if only for a brief visit.
MoreHuge national park with great accessibility.Much history combined with modern road access makes it possible to drive around the old volcano and get to the top.Great views on the top.Huge golden Buddha and ritual bells you can ring.Still doing more work here. But very popularFree entry.
MoreGood view at the top. You can drive to the top, or be adventurous and walk up the stairs. Giant Buddha statue at the top. Would be lit up at night and visible fromgreat distance . Food is available at the top as down below. The toilets were quite clean. This is part of a larger park area with other activities.
MoreWatch the steps. If you not fit, bedder not walk, just drive to the top. Nice place no entrence free.
MoreTemple in the right side, forest park straight forward
Nice view from up here. Spiritual and peaceful. Climb up if you are adventurous as it is a fair bit of steps and hot. If you want the easy way drive up and down trip. Another alternative drive up. Walk the stairs down (after arranging with driver to meet at footsteps). Theres a coffee shop / convenience store at the top.
MoreNice place to relax in the middle of nature. There are tables at the bottom of the hill if you want to do a picnic.
MoreNaga is protecting the temple which is on top of a volcano!
Big Buddha statue on top of an old volcano mount
We didnt take the stairs but drove up.View is ok but sadly Buriram isnt that impressive to look at, not even from "high" up.If youre in Buriram then its a must see I guess.
MoreGood spot if you have free time left when visiting Buriram. Nice view from top of the hill. Not really suitable for elder people though, ~300 stairs to the top.
