Kesar Indian Restaurant - Indian restaurant in Curepipe, Mauritius
It was my first time to try indian food at restaurant. And Id say Kesar is a good option if youre ever looking for tasty indian food. The butterchicken and naan was yummy. If ever you are a person who gets full after 2 3 bites of heavy foods, dont be greedy to order much naan like I did and had to take takeaway.🤪 But yeah my critic would be that the place needs to be a bit airy, we went during the day it was kind of hot and suffocating but the staff made it convenient and they were friendly as well.
We had lunch today at the restaurant. Excellent food and rapid service. Efficient and welcoming staff always smiling 😊.
Been there for lunch, i wish to thanks the staffs for such a warm welcoming, rapid service was providedThanks again for the yummilicious foods especially the butter chickenVery comfortable atmosphere with friendly staffsIll surely come again.
EXTREMELY SALTY food from the starter ie. mixed vegetable pakoras to the main course and even the achard contained A LOT A LOT of salt.We ordered garlic naan which was burnt on one side. The dishes are overpriced. We waited nearly 1 and a half hour to receive the starter.I DO Not recommend this place at all.
Hi guys 1 start is only for the staff or the wise none.. price way too expensive,, food was very salty n the portions was very poor , n If u order a alcohol drink it’s not even 1 normal tot so half of it, 1 st n last not recommended 🙁
Nice Restaurant with peculiar Great Indian cuisine served.
Tasty indian food, spot on starters, great comfort and venue
Although the food is great but the service quality is one of the worst. Restaurant time shows as open till 2:30 , but we were not let in at 1:45 as kitchen closes at 2 and that too on a Saturday. So 2:30 pm is when staff wants to go home and not for us, customer experience is a joke! Not the first time though, this behavior is consistent.
Tastes like Mauritian food (tangy)Also sometimes it feels like it’s a self service.Complementary pappad were stale. All and all not nice.
Place is wonderful for first time visit. As for food experience, it was quite poor. The rice was overcooked and we could see the burnt seeds. We were not even informed if it was to our taste or proposed to do another. I would definitely not recommend. Parking space also appears quite limited for the grandeur of the restaurant. On a good note, 1 waiter was very kind and eased our eating experience.
Been there twice recently. Nice ambience. Food is very much like the typical indian food. Not very noisy or crowded. One can have a comfortable conversation. Staff not very courteous but they are ok.
You wont get authentic indian food, but it will be pretty much near to it.. if you love spicy food, dont go here..
Best Indian food in mauritius..highly recommended..
Good customer service, pleasant staffs. However it took too much time to get the food served. Else good overall experience. Tasty food
Was a great experience food was yummy staff was very friendly the atmosphere of the restaurant is another level the decor inside is amazing music was perfect..Mr deepak keep shinning hope you open one soon in Melbourne
Food took an eternity to be served, and its cold. Not recommended at all. There are better alternatives
Very very bad experience, the worst restaurant i have known in my life.Food not good, waiting time at least 3 hours.Street foods much better compared to Kesar restaurant. Awful experience.
Very very bad Service. Worst restaurant. Street food is way better.Took us 1 hour to get the starter only. We came at 7.30pm and left at 9.30.Worst experience I ever had.I dont recommend
I visited this location today at 1 pm with my friends and family, and I detest it since the personnel is terrible. Orders are taken quite slowly, and the staff members are excessively haughty. Rahul, the restaurants manager, exhibits really poor behavior. With Mauritians and non-Mauritians, they practice racism. When we placed a second order, they informed us that the kitchen was closed. However, they accept fresh orders from other clients. Please avoid from going here.
I despise this place; the staff is terrible. I went there today at 1 p.m. with my friends and family. They take orders late and the personnel are arrogant.Rahul, the manager of this restaurant, is a bad. They practice racism against both Mauritian and non-Mauritian citizens. When we placed a second order, they informed us that the kitchen was closed. However, they accept new orders from existing customers. My experience is very bad. Please do not visit this location.
I hate this, the staff is not good, I visited this place today, with my friends and family at 1 pm. They take orders very late and the staff are too arrogant. The manager of this restaurant Rahul, behaves very badly. They do racism with Mauritian and non Mauritian. They told us the kitchen is closed when we make a second order. But they take new orders from other customers. Please dont visit this place.
It was quite disappointing. The food took over 50mins to arrive, the least the staff can do is inform while taking the order - thats it’s going to take time!! Can’t expect all guests to have this kind of time to waste.
Average food. Service pathetic.. they took 1h20mins to bring our main course.. when i asked the waiter he said that because we took starters our main course took time!!!!!!
We went on 14th, ordered Chilli Paneer, Crispy Corn asked them to put extra chillies loved it 😋 ordered Muttun Kebab, and Chicken lollipop very delious. I would Recommend. Will return again.2nd return food good but service was very slow got the Lamb rogan josh but by time paratha came 20 mins later curry had gone cold. They did not seem to care, until we refused to pay.3rd Visit 26th was as good as the first, delicious food and good service. Must depend on days of the week.
Great food and the customer service was excellent
Tasty food. Good ambience. Reasonable price.
Simply the best food and service which I highly recommend everyone to experience
Had Dinner thereNot justified compared toquality and quantity served. From Starter They take it for Too Long Not expected this Type of Hospitality in Indian Restaurant.Good ratings given by other customers send torelate to dinner but with our recent experience weare a bit reluctant to risk another visit.
I have being to experience the Indian food but from the welcoming to end it was really a bad experience firstly when we can just arrived a lady working into the shop downstairs requested to have our vaccination card even from our parties some of the member did the four dose and just say the dinning room is upstairs when we went upstairs the service team just pointed us the table where he should accompany us to the table as we have been to several Indian over the island as well abroad it need to have a hostess with Indian outfits. With Regards there was kids in our group we asked if possible can have fried rice or noodles for the kids the waiter said no without giving us any options and said its a indian restaurant we dont serve noodles but when you see the decor still decorated with bamboo which is the Chinese culture waited one hour to be served even with child the placemat on the table is torn and dirty need proper cleaning. No managers came to take any feedback during the dinner. We ordered paneer makhani and paneer labardar when it came the texture and the taste was the same really bad experience with unexpected levels of hospitality. Need lots of improvement for the food quality and service
Very nice. Went there on Wednesday 13th April. Had a great time with family for my sons birthday. Warm welcome. Food was very delicious starters and main course as well.
Long waiting time before u get served. Either you close the restaurant to serve your own guests or serve all clients impartially. Thanks
Nice service. Food was great. Loved the dessert. And the chai was really good.Had a nice family experience with kids running around and it didnt bother the personel. This is just great comprehension
Had lunch there.Food seemed to be microwaved and lacked fragrance usually associated with Indian cuisine.Price charged not justified compared to quality and quantity served.Waiters were ok but the cashier was quite rude. If your card machine is not working call your bank instead of venting your frustration on your customers Acknowledging customer patience for the waiting for you to sort out issue would have been nice.Good ratings given by other customers seemd to relate to dinner but with our recent experience we are a bit reluctant to risk another visit.
Unpleasant experience today, poor service from the waiter, had to wait a long time for the food though the restaurant was not busy, and less than average food. Very disappointed. Not recommended.
Food portions were a bit smaller in size than other Indian restaurants. Atmosphere was great. I will rate the service as neutral.
I will rate it as 1 star based on my dining experience on friday 13th August 2021. We were there as a group of 8 people for dinner.1. Service was really slow.2. We were served expired sparkling water twice. The expiry month of the sparkling water was June 2021. The manufacture date was Feb or Jan 2021 - it is quite obvious that they are using the stock they received just before the second confinement.3. We had the same issue with the beer we ordered. It was "acre" in taste. We were served in glasses so could not verify the expiry date. Same issue with the second round of beer. We stopped ordering after that and did not complain about the beer.4. And no the manager or who ever was responsible bothered to apologise regarding serving expired drinks. We wont be going back there for sure.
My wife and i had diner over there. There was a good ambiance and the food was great, freshly cooked very tasty and well presented. For starters we had chilli chicken and Bengali deep fried calamari. The chilli chicken was fire. Calamari was not chewy but crispy.Main course had a mutton RoganJosh it was creamy and the lamb was well cooked and tasted great. We took butter naan, cheese naan and garlic naan to accompany the main course, we really appreciated the cheese naan. The servers were friendly and professional and service overall was good. Parking spot available. They can improve on the portions of their main courses. Overall it was a good experience.
Very friendly staff, and one of the best indian food in the east of mau
Good services.. delicious meals 😋😋
Portion are very mediocre, if you spend around rs280 for butter chicken, you expect quantity and quality, both are missing. Sour and poor portions, its already been written off my list of go to Indian restaurant.
Good quality. Real taste of Indian food
The service was terrible and the food was nothing special. It was really disappointing because the decor was actually quite nice and I had high expectations. Of course, other dishes that I didnt order might have been nice but seriously, I dont understand how an Indian restaurant could possibly mess up something as simple as daal. And they should really use less yogurt. Im sorry but I dont think Ill ever be going back there.
Food is good and best Indian resto in the east
Food is niceHad to wait a little bit thoughThe ac wasnt working that dayBut all windows were openedThe person who served us was brilliantThank you mr ramdewar
great Indian food!really Indian food and the best that we tried in mauritius. staff were very kind and professional and the prices are great! definitely we will come back 🙂
food was good.excepte on vegan side they need to work a little bit more....but place very clean n comfort
Good food, not expensive, beautiful and clean place. The Afghani chicken as a starter is a must try. The Goan fish is too good. And the cheese naan is really yummy.
Delicious food, slightly different from other Indian restaurant. The servings size were adequate. Lassi served in copper metallic lota which gave it a weird after taste. The service is quite slow though and there was only one staff when we were there for the whole restaurant. It is very dimly lit, a bit too dim it could use from more brightens so one can enjoy the company. Also a bit out of the way.
Good food at reasonable price. Good staff offers service with smiles
Good deco..nice place for couple..food is tasty..nice atmosphere..
