Hofwiesenstrasse 188, 8057 Zürich, Switzerland, Zürich (Kreis 12)
Simple dining room with Asian carvings & art, specializing in South Indian curries & seafood dishes.
I luckily happen to visit this restaurant when I visited Zurich. I decided to go there just because from the name it said kerala restraunt and me being a Malayali got excited. But the which I experienced there was far beyond what I expected. I experienced authentic kerala food for the first time in five years in Europe. It was out of this world. And the owner of the apartment is really friendly. Thanks kuttetta for the kerala experience
Amazing food with friendly service.
A very good service and authentic Kerala food. This is the only Indian restaurant in Zurich which provides great food and great hospitality
Suuuuper tasty food, great staff, service and presentation ❤️
Great somosas and the naan bread is the best in Switzerland the curry could have been a bit hotter Ill say next time we go back. Well definitely go back again.
Took me back to India. We went here for the first time and the food was just spectacular! I’m a big fan now and going to be a regular here. The staff was very polite and friendly. We had Paneer tikka masala and Lamb Curry both were amazing with authentic taste!
Best Naan we have ever had! Food is great and everyone is bery friendly! The interior looks absolutely indian, everything is great! We‘ll come back soon
Excellent food, very friendly waiter and great atmosphere (and lots and lots of gf options too!Perfect evening. Thank you!
We had this restaurant on our list of Indian restaurants and it was definitely worth our wait.We did make a reservation before going, as it was Friday night. The place is well connected by tram/bus and was okayish crowded when we reached. The menu had a lot of options with some traditional South Indian ones (Although the variety in the vegetarian options looked limited). We ordered Vada sambhar and butter milk. The butter milk was traditional and unique and we loved the taste.Vada sambhar was delicious but it was quite a small portion (just 1 Vada).Since we wanted to have bhindi fry, the staff was courteous enough to make a special one for us. We had Malabar parrota on the side which was crispy and tasty as well.Overall a good experience and undoubtedly a must visit for traditional Indian flavours.
We come to Zurich for a short vacation and find this place close to where we stay. From outside, I did not expect this place to be a “fine dining” place. The price is so high for any Indian food I had, all over the world. The most disappointing thing is the waiting, we waited more than 1 hour to get our food. At minute 50, an older gentleman came to explain “we don’t use prepared food, that’s why it’s so long”. Fine, waiting to see how good the “not prepared food” will be. Eventually, we got our food. To be fair, they are authentic Indian food but the naan was cold and one piece was burnt. Maybe what they really want to say was “not well prepared”. And that piece which was burnt, cost me 3.5 francs. The waiters were very busy and seems professional, but for a “fine dining” place like this, waiting time and taste are also important in my view. I will definitely not recommend visitors who can access other authentic Indian foos restaurants to even try this place.
Good food & Good service - Excellent 👌
Best food and Please try Vada Sambar, whole staff is polite .
Awesome Food 😋. Must have Gulab Jamun 😋😋😋
I usually dont write reviews, however, the experience was so bad I feel bad for future customers. I have read that other people, including Indians, had a very bad experience here.Food was fine. However, the staff was very rude at the end. We waited 45 minutes to get the bill, asked three different waiters. The waiter was chatting with his friends, obviously idle, laughing in the table next to us.When he finally showed up, the bill had a higher price than what we ordered. He then put in the card machine an amount around 10 francs higher, additional to the higher amount in the bill, so at this point 20 francs extra. He quickly removed the bill from us before we could check it, and didnt give us a receipt or anything.Anyways, please save yourself from the bad experience of eating here.
This is such an amazing restaurant. As a Keralite, I was missing Kerala (southern Indian statefood a lot. I’m glad that I found this restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious and the staffs are very friendly. I would highly recommend this place for everyone who wants to try delicious Indian food.
Had an amazing dinner at this place. The food was freshly prepared and tasted delicious. The staffs are very courteous towards their guest.
Great food, great service absolutely enjoyed the delicious cuisine. I think its hard to find authentic Indian food in Switzerland but this place really hits the mark. Will definetly be coming back.
A very good Indian restaurant at a great location. Authentic Indian food and excellent customer service. I had to been to this place many time and quality of food still the same. May be it’s bit pricy but its worth to have.Tip: Ask for beef fry curry which is not on the menu list. My colleagues loved it :And don’t miss to try Kerala Parota.
So, given I am not an expert in Indian food, I found it very tasty. I went for a vegetarian dinner, guided by Indian friend. Quality to me was very high. Price, a bit too expensive, especially considering there was no meat.
Genuinly a good place.Service personal is very attentive and friendly! They are well educated in their job and do it very well!Food is absolutly a banger and as a westerner it seems very authentic and genuinly good. It is flavorful, more than enough to eat and at you get a filled belly at a very fair price! The place itself is very clean and has a neat ambiente. It is bright and gives some nice indian touch underlining the food.Definetly a go to indian restaurant here!
This is best restaurant for Indian food in Zurich.Food is delicious and quality and quantity both are good. And staff is very good and attentive and polite. We really enjoyed our dinner at this place.
To me, the best indian food in Zurich. Unlike the name suggests, the food is pan Indian (the Mallu in me was hoping for some puttu and kadala), though they have the Kerala Parotta.
Really delicious and authentic Indian food. Had the fish curry, paneer butter masala and Erisseri (pumpkin south Indian dish), south Indian paratha, cheese naan and jeera rice. Everything was delicious and well prepared. Spices were good with a little need to add salt to some dishes if youd like it as its served in India. Staff was very friendly and helpful, we were served by Sebastian who was very pleasant. Ambience was nice. Will visit again!
Wow, just wow. Friendly booking, amazingly nice staff, and my girlfriend had plenty of gluten free options to choose from the menu. We both really enjoyed it and would heartily recommend it. 😍
Extremely attentive staff. The food is great and portions are a good size. However, I know it’s ‘industry standard’ but I don’t like how the main dish comes without sides or sauce, which considerably increases the cost.
Nice Indian restaurant and good quality food, but expensive and bad service: unprofessional, very long and with errors in orders. We were four and unfortunately all disappointed.
Super service and excellent food, prepared with quality spices.Ordered Baigan Bharta (Auberginesand Bindhi Mappas (Okras / Ladyfingers"very spicy" as suggested for people who enjoy spicy food but dont want the highest level🔥... And it was perfect 👌🏼!Yet neither the Paratha nor the Naan got a 5 stars for us, not because of the consistency, but rather of the taste. The flour used may not be the one best corresponding to our habits.
Simply wonderful, every time! And we come here often. Best Indian food in town by far
Very good food quality and nice out side seating. They made a nice veg curry as I asked them for friday special. Not even on the menu card. Really good service . Real taste of kerala. Veg and non veg equally perfect taste. If you like hot and spicy they will make as you like but still very good taste .
The food is quite authentic and the portion sizes are quite filling. The owner (Im guessing hes the owner or a VERY dedicated employeewas welcoming and friendly (and not just because Im Indian, I noticed him like that with everyone.)The ambience seemed to be a misfit - the prices and interiors all said fine dining, but the service and service, the vibe and boxes just casually lying around spoke a different story.I wasnt disappointed and definitely was happy with the food, but they should either adjust prices / interior or the service and attention to detail.
Fantastic food, really enjoyed the soft chicken and perfectly cooked lamb. Nice atmosphere and good, friendly service. Definitely will go there again soon.
At Kerala it was my 1st experience in a indian restaurant. The menu is made for all type of tasters.Im so excited to recommend this place with all confidence, and I really enjoy with very prospective and kind personal staff. So guys keep going on and wish you all the best.
Kerala is hands down the most authentic Indian restaurant Ive ever been. Theres a good wait but its definitely worth it. Id rather wait a good 20 minutes or so for an authentic tasty dish than get served some fast food styled and "over westernized " food. The restaurant itself is situated right on the street, bus stop is right in front of it. There are many parking spaces near by. It has a terrace too which is a big plus. The inside is beautifully decorated with tasteful paintings and artworks. The staff and owner are very attentive and welcoming. They even ask you how seasoned you want your food to be like. This is the problem Ive had so far with many restaurants, they fail to tailor personal wishes. Its the little things that sets us apart. Its not a one cap fits all.I even got a pepper sauce aside if the dish wasnt hot enough and it blew my head off to the pleasure of my partner and the owner. 😂😅😂😅😂. I like it real hot and Kerala did a great job. My personal thank to the chef.
One of the most satisfying meals I’ve had in a long time — probably one of the best Indian restaurants in Zurich, if not Switzerland. Only got a take away for home but if that’s anything to go by, I’ll definitely be back for a proper dinner.
Great food and great atmosphere ! Owner are really nice !
We ordered a vegetarian set menu for four adults and one child. When the food started to come out, we were completely blown away by both the range of dishes (the breadfruit was a complete surprise!as well as the quality of each dish. Indian restaurants here have a bad habit of making everything taste like the same tomato onion and cream gravy base. Each dish here is unique, not laden with cream etc, but quite rustic and home style. And its excellent value at 40chf a head for the set menu. We had also ordered a tandoori platter for the meat eaters at the table and they really enjoyed it too.
Lovely place in a nice position. The food was awesome, authentic Indian food. The staff has been really kind and helpful, I will definitely return soon.
If you want to take Indian tasty foods in Zurich, Switzerland dont forget to go the Kerala restaurants. Amazing and tasty foods. You will miss your country very much i m sure. And of course nice interior.
The menu is expansive, and it was painful to decide on only two main items to order (for a party of two). We ended up with the Kerala appetizer sampler, lamb korma and bhangan bhartha, and didn’t regret a thing. The service is good with friendly waiters who checked up on us a couple of times. The menu is very detailed and descriptions are accurat
Really delicious food with a nice garden atmosphere at a somewhat premium price (even for Zurich!). This might be my new favorite Indian restaurant in the city! The menu is expansive, and it was painful to decide on only two main items to order (for a party of two). We ended up with the Kerala appetizer sampler, lamb korma and bhangan bhartha, and didn’t regret a thing. The korma was rich and creamy, and the eggplant smoky and not too oily. Can’t wait to explore the menu more next time.
Very nice, ambient restaurant with authentic Kerala food!! Very friendly and efficient staff
Amazing food. It tastes really great. Real Indian cuisine. We celebrated my wifes birthday at Kerala and it was a very pleasant and delightful dinner. We recommend it to everybody.
A lovely place with good clean ambiance and decor. The service is good with friendly waiters who checked up on us a couple of times. The menu is very detailed and descriptions are accurate. The quantity of food is sufficient and maybe even enough for a take-home bag. Quality of food is great. We were served hot food in pots with a flame underneath which kept it warm all throughout!
Best Indian food we have had so far in Zurich. Great flavors and everything seems freshly prepared.Portions are slightly small for the price. If you are quite hungry you may want to take 3 dishes.
Great food, great staff, a place that I know for many years, they offer an awesome lunch time menü and weekend a la carte woow....You have to reserve a seat before, is always busy and fantastic price, considering that we live in Zurich where many restaurants exagerate. Make your own experience.
Man one of the best Indian food restaurant in Zurich. When you tell them to make it spicy they make sure it is spicy. Super friendly staff and great service. A little pricy even for Zurich standard but the food quality is very nice. The owner is also great who comes by and talks to you and makes sure you are comfortable. Nice outside seating
Really wonderful, if spendy, Indian food. Palek Paneer isnt on the menu, but they can make it. It and the house special chicken curry were both great and a bit spicy.
I have been in Kerala restaurant mutiple times. Here you will get both south Indian and north Indian cuisine and the food is always outstanding with lots of vegetarian options. Probably the best Indian restaurant in Switzerland. Nice ambience too. But expensive compared to other Indian restaurants in Switzerland. Its better to go after phone reservation
Excellent service and delicious Indian food. The atmosphere in this restaurant is very relaxing.
Fantastic Indian food with a romantic atmosphere. They serve the best Samosas in Zurich. I can also highly recommend the Malabar menu for two people to which comes with a great variety of dishes and sides. The staff was quick and very professional. I highly recommend this restaurant.
