Visited last Sunday, had the best shepherds pie Ive ever had in recent memory.

Jenny provided excellent service. The rib eye was the most delicious steak Ive ever eaten.

Great spot, particularly at sunset. Friendly service and good food.

Kensington Circus Pub is a local favorite and Kensington staple! Some say the best ribeye in town... I had the pork chop and whoa it was big and thick and seasoned and cooked just right! This place is great classic pub atmosphere, live music on occasion, attentive friendly experienced excellent service and bar/ kitchen staff! Excellent place for a drop in dinner with friends and family

Nice place, not necessarily a pub. Kesington circle is not as busy as it may appear, so it is nice to sit outside.Service is good, but many things on the menu they dont serve because of COVID. It felt like it would be easier if they just told us what they actually offer.

Nice place for a neighborhood evening bite. Excellent crew, laid back feel, great menu. TVs mounted for the sports of the moment. There is even some outdoor seating available.

I googled best fish and chips near me. The kensington citrus pub popped up. I went ordered a drink and a to go order of their fish and chips. Got home and was disappointed. Chips there was maybe 10 of them and they were greasy and over done. There was about 2 tbsps of store bought slaw. And sadly 4 pieces of soggy greasy fish. Had the batter been better or cooked better would have been great. The actual fish was ok. The tartar sauce was pickes and onion it was too much there didnt seem to be sauce at all. That could be my bad as I dont know what British tartar sauce is supposed to be like.I had seriously high hopes for this place. But $30 dollars for a drink and greasy fish and chips just doesnt do it for me. Maybe there are better things on the menu. Try it for yourself.

British pub in Kensington near Berkeley. They were out of most of their selection of draft British brews which was disappointing. Service was slow, but they were unexpectedly swamped on a normally slow Wednesday due to a local power outage. They did well with the staff they had. Food was good. Fish and chips was crispy and flaky.

Great food, sweet staff treat you like family, great live music on the weekends sometimes! Kind and friendly fellow patrons.

A perfect chill pub in the heart of Kensington. Great atmosphere to hang out with friends and down a few cold brews. Food is a win too!

Food is great but when I Went to pick up a take out order two days ago and none of the staff were wearing a mask. Unsettling

Fish and fries were soggy! Not real pick wick style. But the waitress and the atmosphere was great.. Ill be back..

"Cheers" of the Bay Area, where everybody knows your name and glad you came. Consistently good food, especially fish & chips and fish tacos. Yummy special of the day on last visit: "Mexican lasagna" = nom nom nom.Scott the owner is dialed in to crew (and they representhim well); the support crew (hosts and cooksmake the joint you want to go back to once a week (when possible, while always desirable).

In a world diminished by takeout this burger and fries somehow just gets better. Maybe because they know that assembled it has a 2 minute half-life? The bun in its own bag makes the takeout even better than the in person burger. Crazy good. Eat in is fine too if you like atmosphere and people. Whatever. This burger is made to 5 star the apocalypse.

Beware! Check that your bill matches the prices seen on the menu!!!The food was ok. But we had a very bad surprise in the end. The bill was way higher then it was supposed to be.They charged each glass of rosé $14 (which is insaneinstead of the $8 that were shown on all 3 menus we had in hand. We were not told anything about this change at any time. Even at billing.When we realized the total was higher than it should, we thought it was a mistake. That happens. But in fact we had to plead for over 10mn to get the difference back!We were being told that the menus were not up-to-date, and that they would change them soon (I dont think this is legal)! In the end they gave us cash back on the difference, but they didnt make a new bill. At that point, it had gotten so complicated we accepted. But Im wondering if this is legal too.I had never ever seen this until now. As a customer it really feels unpleasant.Even more that we had left a nice tip, feeling covid Business supportive. As we didnt get a new bill, taxes and tip remained on the high price.Im surprised that this place is always full. Were we taken for stupid tourists?Were never going back!

Love this place, the food, the drinks and the prices and the staff can’t be beat. always a good time at the Pub. Also best steak, pork chop, fish and chips and lots of veggie delites. Great live music returns June 15th

Yesterday evening, I went there with friends in this pub.we had a very good evening.But what was our disappointment when we paid.The price of a glass of wine with almost doubled from the prices listed on the menu.Really disappointed with this place. I wont be going back so soon

I went there yesterday to have a drink with my friends, had a very good time with them , but was very disappointed at the end when the bill came they charged me 14$ for a glass of rose wine (it was written 8$ on the menu...I told them that they made a mistake on the bill and they said "no thats the price we havent time to update the prices on the menu..." Unbelievable!!!! Will not come back...

Good food. Its been a long time since weve been. Nice to be able to sit inside. Was able to taste a couple beers to see which one we wanted.

Thanks for being open during this time! Im not usually one for taking fish and chips to go or take home but you have to do what you have to do. The containers were cut so the fish didnt get soggy and remained crispy. Everything was delicious! Fish, chips, slaw and even malt vinegar!Instagram @planefoodies

Had dinner here last night with a group of friends. My first time here. I ordered the Pork Chop and it was great! The food and service was excellent! I highly recommend this place. I will be back......

Long established neighborhood pub. Seemed to have undergone a management change since my previous visit. Food prep has improved and was good. Nicely curated, small selection of beers and ales. Favorite foods are 1/4 lb cheeseburger and Shepards Pie. Family friendly and often packed with regulars and locals. If youre not in a "family friendly" mood (it happens), you might prefer to go later.

Ive got to give this place 5 stars for knowing their clientele and doing good business.Play area is amazing for families with kids who cant sit still yet and you can sacrifice a parent to supervise so the rest of the adults can catch up.They forgot our appetizer, and when we caught it on the bill they not only took off the charge but seamlessly gave us the app to go! You cant get every order perfect, but you can still provide perfect customer service in light of it, and these guys totally get that!!

We were here just for a snack. The beer was good, as were the French fries although kind of expensive. The place looks like your ordinary pub, but the location is convenient being it in a neighborhood that doesnt offer many options.

Was not treated very nice. Got to the place alone, to listen to some friend play and to eat some food. Since it was almost full I was ok staying at the counter. Totally made sense. At around 8.30pm I asked if I could take one of the tables in front of the stage since it was very loud at the counter and could not listen to the music. There were 5 free tables at that point, and the boss lady told me: no you cant sit at a table for 4 alone...so had to listen to the gig from the counter.Of course those tables stayed empty till the end.Moreover 2 guys alone just moved to those tables at some point, and the same waitress was just laughing with them. Not nice.Food was decent.

Cute little neighborhood pub. The food was delicious and the waitress with purple hair was attentive/nice/ awesome (hi if youre reading this!). The items were maybe a little more expensive than I would pay for by a few dollars, but I think Im okay with that since the overall experience was very positive. I would definitely come again!

Nice selection of beers on tap! The food is great (especially the fish and chips). Perfect for families, as they have a small play area for the wee ones. Perfect for 18 months+. They only do dinner, but if you are looking for a solid meal and a kid friendly pub, the Kensington Circus Pub wont disappoint. They have been voted the best restaurant in Kensington for families and its true! If you dont have kids and want to grab a bite and a drink, you will be glad you visited the Circus Pub! Friendly staff. Prices are high for the quality/food. The owner is invested and there often to help and run things. The menu is diverse. Triva and music mights are fun and busy. Nice to have one or two local beers. Great English beer selection.

I was taken here on a burger outing by a friend of mine a local locksmith, with a deep knowledge of burgers.We ordered the regular hamburger, and I told the waitperson to cook it "Juicy" at which they knowingly smiled, (A good signand it came to our table fragrant, sizzling, juicy, and perfectly rare in the middle).The Cheddar Chuck Burger, was amazing, and the garlic fries, often done sloppily at other places here, has a fresher, and more herbal kick to them.I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and Ill be back!

Wonderful english-style Pub, great fish and chips and plenty of other good food if you dont like fish. Sometimes there is live music which ranges from just okay to fabulous - almost always Homespun musicians that have been part of the Bay Area Music Scene for decades, some of them even somewhat famous!!

A great place to bring your kids. You will run into familiar neighbors while enjoying some great English nitro tap. The food is uniquely mixed pub and other. The servers are very friendly.

English pub with an East Bay flair. This place has some traditional British faire such as bangers and mash, as well as East Bay foods. In my experience they always have at least two vegetarian items on the menu. The beer selection is extensive as well.The big draw for my family is the large kids play area over in a corner. It lets us all enjoy the wait (me with beer, my 4 year old with pirate ship). Theres also a large chalkboard for little artists.Come early though, it does get crowded at night and eventually the play area becomes a music stage.

Good English beer selection. The recent food price hikes make the food more expensive than Benchmark Pizza (around the corner). Great TVs for sports. Good place to get food with a large group.

I went there for St Patricks Day dinner with some friends. The band was quite good, but a little loud. The Guinness was excellent as ever.They had a special menu that night with Irish themed food. I had the stew, which was very tasty, but overpriced. $18 for a bowl of stew and a small side dish? 🤨 Still, we had a great time. The circus pub is a great neighborhood resource.

Quaint British style pub with some traditional food. My husband and I both got the Full English Fry Up. Very tasty. Ask for the jam, its delicious on english muffins!

Fish tacos! So fresh and delicious. Its hard for me to order other items because I like the fish tacos so much. Their burgers are great too. And the wait staff and owner are super chill, really nice.

Hands down the best fish and chips I have had in a very long time! The service was friendly and the prices were fair. Excellent draft beer selection and big screen TVs for watching sports. Definitely worth a visit.

The food and beer were very tasty, however the prices were astronomical and service was horrendous. We had called ahead and were told they would hold a table for our larger party, which they didnt. We waited forever to get a food order in and finally had to order up front because we couldnt find our server at all. Our server hardly checked in and then unprompted, brought the check without checking if we had wanted anything else (which we did.Then the server completely disappeared without telling us she was going home and no one else covered after that. I did like the area for kids to make it family friendly and their selection of beer was good.

I just went in for some fish and chips with my book. Really enjoyed the food and the service was nice as well. Atmosphere is great. Theres a convenient, clean play area with books and toys for kids. Quality live music on weekends. Kinda pricy, but that goes with the location.

There is something for everyone here! Timing is important to determine the ambiance you prefer. Kids abound in the early evenings, music is loud after 8 on weekends, soccer and sports make it vibrant and a bit crazy! The service is very friendly, the owner seems to treat customers and his crew with the same warmth and respectful vibe. We LOVE it! Food is always EXCELLENT and nice variety of beer on tap!
