Staying in hotel on Strait Street friendly staff building full of history with lovely courtyard and adjoining bar Mae West the area has been renovated after half a century when it was a haven for sailors in the 2nd world war visit low prices for drinks and lovely bar food

The places looks good at first. But the burgers there are disaster. Bad quality on high prices. Stairs for wc are also a challenge. Hard to get there.

We went there for drinks and snacks. It’s in a central location on a cute little street that has a few bars. Service was good, prices too.

This is a good local bar. Not terribly sophisticated but honest. Liked the blues music they had on in the background.

The interior is softly-lit and cozy, with a good-sized bar and a number of tables to sit and eat or chat while having a drink.Otherwise, a few tables are available outside, in the street, where the atmosphere is very lively at weekends.

atmosphere is really nicebut food is horrible. do not take "sliders" (baby burgerits disgusting felt sick after, just meat in bread... 12€

Excellent pulled pork tacos!… I went for a drink and food with a friend and everything was excellent… The decoration of the place is amazing, reminding you of how the bars in Strait Street must have been back in the day!… If I will come back in Malta, it will be one of the first places I will visit again!… This place is amazing they have jazz nights… The food is so so good that I can’t even describe it in words…

Great area, good choice of drinks and live music. But would definitely not eat there again. Everything just seems to be chucked into the fryer and cheap frozen products. Disappointing.

Very cool bar, great barman made very good cocktails and nibble plate. Also gave us some advice on where to go for dinner etc. This bar is well worth the visit.

Good food, retro, the tapas taste really good. In our case koftas and satay were mouth watering.

Good gin cocktails ans whiskey Old Fashioned. Nice guys serving. Can pay by card over 10 euros. Lovely jazz balcony above fpr love music. Would reccomend and would return !

Great atmosphere and food

Booked our staff party weeks in advance, everything confirmed in writing, only to arrive on the night and find that there was no place for us in the bar! Well never attempt to go there again, extremely disappointed. One star is too much.

Maybe we were a bit unlucky on our first time, but we had a bit of issues with booking, as we booked 2 weeks in advance for a table inside and instead were given one of the worst outside. Would definately try it another time though as the drinks were great and so was the atmosphere (they sometimes have live music too as a bonus!)

One of the best Bars in Valletta. Reasonably priced drinks, great selection and excellent pub food. The atmosphere in this part of Strait Street, known as The Gut is truly fantastic. Highly recommended

This was the nicest bar I have experienced in Valletta. The staff was very sympathetic and the music was great. They have a nice choice of gin based cocktails at very affordable prices. During the weekend the place is buzzing!!! Its not on a main street but its 2 steps away from all the "loud" and touristic places.
