Great breakfast place. The Newcastle is a standard breakfast of bacon and eggs with hashbrowns and toast. Very well prepared in a timely manner. Great service and a friendly atmosphere...well worth the visit. Their eggs Benedict looked great and there are numerous variations. I will try their French toast next time.

Had Salmon Eggs Benny with my bro. The Omelets are excellent. Ill stick with them in future. Saturdays are to be avoided as this very popular Breakfast Cafe is very busy on Saturdays.

Came in for breakfast because of all of the great reviews. Our experience however was not very good, 19$ each for a benny and a pulled pork hash which were not great. The hash browns were bland as was the hollandaise and my wife asked for soft poached eggs which were quite hard. Based on the reviews and the price I was expecting way better quality food, definitely can’t understand all of the 5 star reviews.

Food was great. Server was awesome as well. Other than my eggs being a little over done. Would definitely go back

The breakfast here was extraordinary, I cant recall the last time I had breakfast this yummy 😋. If youre in Nanaimo this place should definitely be on your list of places to eat at.

Perfect eggs, prawn benny, I wanted medium eggs and first time ever I actually had medium eggs. My husband was to busy eating his Reuben sandwich to comment, the empty plate said it all. Great staff very friendly..A great morning date .

I have been coming here since they were husky house downtown for a total 17 years… Nothing has changed still the best burger you’ll ever have in BC. Best breakfast/lunch location on the island by a lot. When I come to the island it’s my first and last stop prior to departure. Greatest place on earth!

Was really excited to try this place due to the positive reviews. We had to wait to get in, and it took a long time to get our food, but when it arrived it was amazing. Definitely our new favourite breakfast place!

My club had turkey scraps which had some bones. And the soda was from a can. Not my favorite. My husband did enjoy his burger.

Have been going here for sometime when I know Im going to get a really good meal. Today was no different.I ordered the Duke Point which goes for 16.50, comes with bacon, ham and sausages, hashbrowns and two eggs and toast. I ordered an extra egg and cut everything up before I took the picture. Food was exceptional.As some say they lavish the bread with more butter than normal so be aware to say something if thats not your thing. My only issue is theyre a little slow on supply refills of water. The place can be a bit echoey due to the design of the building.The staff are friendly and you can tell they enjoy working there.

Being new to Nanaimo, I wanted to go for a nice long walk and check out our neighborhood. I happen across Kellys Kitchen Cafe early one morning on a walk. They served amazing breakfast and delicious coffee and the staff was super friendly! I could tell that the place was very popular as it was filling up very fast and everyone was really enjoying their food. I will definitely go there again.

Good, basic diner breakfast. Arrived as the place opened and watched it fill within 10 minutes! Good portions. Good coffee. Dated but clean decor. Service was prompt and food came out quickly. I second the comment that toast is slathered in butter (not necessarily a bad thing). Felt pressured to leave as soon as my food was done - the server topped up my coffee and mentioned the line outside.

Food was delicious. Greeter was a little grouchy as we did not see the wait outside sign. Perhaps posting it above waist height would increase visibility. Our server had a wonderful personality. Definately worth the wait.

The breakfast was great! My sister got the breakfast feature- french toast. However, my Mother and I ordered different types of wraps and were both not impressed. It just didn’t taste good. There was way too much unmelted cheese and the sauce was not good. On the other hand. the mushroom soup was pretty good.Great place for breakfast but don’t order wraps

The staff are all knowledgeable and friendly. The place is clean. The food is soooooo good. Great selection. The menu has local names.

Kellys Kitchen will probably be our new Go To for breakfast. Traditional Benny was really good, very tasty and good portion sizes so very good value for money. Good service too. Favorite breakfast place so far - will definitely be back.

Been here quiet a few times. Food is always fast, hot and great. Nothing fancy but one of the better places for breakfast in Nanaimo for sure. The waitstaff here are so nice and caring - service can’t be beat!

The most delicious breakfast in town! Awesome eggs benny and phenomenal hashbrowns. They even asked how we wanted our bacon cooked. Amazing food and friendly staff. Definitely worth a stop.

Went here for the very first time. I ordered eggs benny. The pan fried real potatoes and homemade hollandaise sauce were absolutely fabulous. Great meal! Great service, too! Everything was good in here. Will definitely return again. I highly recommended this place.

Food was excellent! Service was a little slow, well worth the wait. It was their second day back after being closed for COVID. Prices were a little higher than I would expect. Very popular with the locals. We will return again when in the area.

Small but homely, Kellys Kitchen came across as a bit noisy for me-but only a bit. Due to the building the acoustics echo a bit. When I arrived I received prompt service. This restaurant is family friendly, although it seemed more popular with older people while I was there. The seating in the place wasnt full, but it definitely had a small crowd! This probably contributed to the volume a bit, but not much anyone can do about that really.There were no booths in the place, but there is a slightly more quiet area by the windows up front.The food was very good. I got the classic eggs benny because Trip advisor said it was the best eggs benny in town. Was it? I have a few more places to go to in order to say that definitively. But it was definitely good! Nice orange egg yolks (local?And very generous on the back bacon and hollandaise sauce.4.5 out of 5 no problem. But google wont let me give half stars, ugh...

Love this place. Great breakfast, friendly staff. Been here for breakfast twice now. The food is good quality, farm eggs, delicious bacon, sausage and ham. Really, not fancy but good quality.Oh and Elizabeth is an absolute gem ❤️

Good place to go if youre looking for simple, uncomplicated fare - by which I do NOT mean to imply it somehow has lesser food, more that people who get tired of looking at menus full of "aioli" this and "artisan" that and "aged" this and "something something chutney" that and just want simple, uncomplicated, unpretentious fare... this place does it, and it does it well. Food is good, portions are fair, staff are quite nice.I only have two issues:1. Their hours are VERY short. Id love to stop in after work for a bite but theyre already closed.2. The room seems to be built in the perfect way to amplify EVERYTHING. Ive been a few times now and even when I went out of my way to go during a time when it should have been quiet - and it was, there were only a handful of other people in there - but even so, their voices were all carried and amplified by the room enough that it still made a conversation in normal tones impossible. And of course that means everyone raises their voice as the volume goes up, and the problem gets worse! Its not awful or anything, but youd definitely want to consider somewhere else if you do want some peace and quiet while you eat.

What a great place to go to! I was recommended by a friend to come here instead of Smittys.. and I am SOO happy we did!It tasts like fresh homemade food! The pancakes are delicious!!Our waitress was so sweet, smiley and super quick. Or order came quickly and everything tasted amazing.I ordered 2 meals.. the second was an extra 3 packages because they where just so good!We all enjoyed our experience and happy we came.. we will be back!!

My Wife and I are from Parksville and we were looking for a breakfast place while in Nanaimo and, what a find! The place was busy and the food was very good. Our server Mary-Jane was friendly and had a good sense of humour.Excellent service. Excellent food.. was impressed. Will most defiantly return.. a friendly atmosphere and a creative menu sets this breakfast spot apart from the rest

This place is great. Super friendly staff, the food arrived quick and was really good. They have a simple menu but it all looked very good. They close early but this is a great place for breakfast, brunch or lunch.

Food was good. It wasnt overly-fancy but you got a lot for the price which is certainly something I appreciate. The hash browns werent the best, but arent a deal breaker given how much else came on the plate.Eggs Benedict were perfectly poached soft boiled eggs, super creamy.

Great breakfast place! Showed up with 4 adults and 5 kids under the age of 4 and had great service. Waitress was friendly and prompt with everything, and even brought out crackers for the kids to munch on before the food came out. Traditional breakfast food, good serving sizes and great menu options. Very understanding with the chaos that can come with family breakfast out! Friendly environment. Will definitely be back.

What a wonderful little breakfast gem we stumbled upon. Old school cafe with old school staff. They hussle - you get a menu and your coffee right away with small chat and a sincere smile. Breakfast is served all day. Is it the most exquisite breakfast Ive ever had, no. However, you get a great plate for a fair price and the service and ambience are what an all day breakfast joint should be. They check up on you regularly, coffee is always topped up and the waitresses share the job of busing tables. Never did I see one of the ladies go to or from the kitchen empty handed, nor did I see dirty dishes linger at a table. Definitely going back and will try pancakes as they looked spectacular. Well done Kellys and its a rare thing to see capable staff with sincere smiles who enjoy their jobs.

This hidden little place is fantastic. The classic diner serves up good sized meals for an affordable price without sacrificing any quality.All the staff Ive encountered are wonderfully friendly, and the service is quick.They do close fairly early, though, so try to hurry in.

A great place for a diner style meal. From house made breakfast to filling lunches.Store is opened and run by the employees and it shows. Be sure to get there early for breakfast as its not the biggest place and fills up FAST
