The roasted chicken and acar is horibble and the charges is exorbitant.

I had this chicken rice yesterday 4th Oct 2020 for lunch wt extra rice and meat . I ended up wt uncomfortable feeling such extreme thirsty ... I drink water as much I can but til the next day Im not recovered . I strongly believe this is because of the high content of Ajinamoto. Please provide quality food and stop using Ajinamoto.

Good food but a bit pricey.

Heard of this famous chicken rice in taiping years back. The first taste of steam chicken, what a dissapointment. Dont get me wrong, it is very good but just my expectation too high. I may be expecting out of this world standard.But soon, my dissapointment was comforted. The oil rice is so nicely done and combination with its bbq pork charsiew explain why long queue in the shop before lunch hour. Charsiew with even layer of fat melt into mouth and also some burnt edges make me jump. Quite pricey, staff is not attentive and humic inside the restaurant force me to reduce 1 star from it

We had these 3 days ago for late breakfast. I had severe stomach upset after an hour, followed by numerous throw-up and diarrhoea. My husband had stomach discomfort after me. Both of us were diagnosed as having food poisoning.Thats all we had for that day, after review, the most possible root cause could be the AZAT as i had it the most. It spoilt our 3d2n taiping trip. Terrible.

A hainamiese style chicken rice full with ginger flavor. Chicken and source is fantastic but char siew is normal.

I love a good plate of chicken+ char siew rice and kok beng doesnt disappoint. Parking might be limited around this area but that shouldnt stop avid fans. Owners are warm,polite and friendly. Staff is attentive. Shop is non AC but clean. Now the soup is a strong ginger based chicken broth. The rice is bursting with flavour on its own. The chicken is nice and soft. The char siew was nicely caramelized but some might say its chewy or on the harder side. I prefer these lean meat meat choice rather than the fatty soft ultra caramelized char siew that some make. The accompanying chilli condiment also whacks a good punch.Overall super happy with this, will definitely become a staple visit for me if I drop by Taiping.

3 stars would be an injustice.Char Siu tasted alright but a little tough, would have preferred it to be more tender. Chicken was tender and delicious like it should be.Definitely worth a try.

Very good chicken rice and "char siew". A must if you visit Taiping. Comes with complimentary ginger soup. The pricing are reasonable. Parking could be a problem, so go early to avoid the lunch crowd.

Over rated chicken rice, beside satisfactory char siew nothing else special. Taiping food should be cheaper but charge premium price RM8 Chicken + Char Siew!

I tried their Chicken Rice and charsiew, to be honest, IMO, the charsiew is way better than the chicken rice. A bit overpriced, but the food is all right.

It may be just chicken rice but the flavors seeps into the depths of your soul. A must go to place when visiting Taiping. Uncle and aunty at the shop very sweet and hospitable.

one of the famous chicken rice in Taiping.its a little expensive though.chicken for two, two plates of rice, one drink, total cost RM21.chilli sause is delicious and spicy.you can try the char siew sauce as well, it is sweet and delicious, some even finds it too sweet.will eat here once in a while.山楂 drink is refreshing. taste exactly like 山楂.recommended.
