Love the chicken rice n the chilli sauce
Nice place for a relaxing breakfast. First time here and we tried their toast, eggs, coffee and yong tau foo. Personal highlight of our meal was the coffee among these nice food.
Normal kopitiam that serving normal taste food…Kaya butter toast , eggs tasted normal..Packed Nasi lemak, fried Meehon, Chee cheong Fun .. tasted normal..chicken rice ball, curry laksa tasted normal too 🤷🏻♀️…What surprised us a little was the mee sua soup… the broth look so clear and tasteless.. but it tasted not bad and can said was the best among the dishes ordered 🤭
Toasted bread does have the charcoal flavor but was not crispy enoughOther food was just average, nothing to shoutDrinks are below average
Breakfast in this local coffeeshop, good! Coffee is good, toast is nice with a big slab of butter. Chicken rice is good, curry noodle is good..
At first, i went into the shop just for a normal daily breakfast since i passed through the place constantly & they have good quantity amount of customer everyday. Wasn’t expecting anything special, ordered a half boiled egg, kaya butter toast, and a coffee. Normal taste of coffee, normal boiled eggs, what special is their charcoal burned toast, it blew my mind in a mild way. Highly recommend as i also brought few friend from other states that they were surprise too!
Breakfast spot for the locals! Get your yong tau foo and the kaya toast!
Favourite for Hainan breakfast. One of the best Authentic Hainan breakfast in Malaysia.Egg: Perfect. Not too raw, not overcook and serve warm.Teh C Kosong: good. Mild tea taste and the good amount of Milk. Not those strong tea flavour.Roti Kaya Butter/ Roti Kahwin: well baked. thin bread and thick slice of butter and homemade kaya. 💯My most #1 shop close today (opposite), so I come to this shop. But they still serve very good breakfast and you can start to enjoy since 5AM!!! (Wow, so hardworking)I’m so glad to see many non-Chinese dine in, it’s hardly to be seen in KL city. Completely pork-free. If you don’t trust and was looking for the Halal logo, then you better don’t visit. But you gonna regret, because the food here is so yum-yum.Easy to find the shop, it’s at roadside.
Aside from the long wait, all the food are superb, ordered nasi lemak (which you take from the counter yourself), toast, soft boiled eggs (where they are well prepared where you dont have to break open yourself), chicken rice balls (quite a good one), kopi ais, where all are superb, recommended
The bread and coffee here is probably one of the best Ive ever tested so far. Sitting area is just a bit hot and stuffy, but so very worth it.
Breakfast;Less sugar Kopi, kaya butter bread, boiled eggs.Self service to Noodles and nasi lemak.Yummy 👍🏾
Highly recommended! Best place if u want to eat the real Hainam bread with half-boiled egg🥚 Laksa, Hainam chicken rice and mee hoon kueh, yong tau fu are also available at there for your selection. But remember to go before 11am at weekends because it is always full of seat..
We had 2 days of Breakfast over here.Came very early at 615am to beat the que and it was totally worth it.Do try out their packed nasi lemak.Eggs were perfectly made.Thick Toast, Cold thick butter with homemade Kaya.
Highly recommended to try the roti kaya butter.
Very very nice roti bakar over there. Crispy at the outside and soft from the inside combo with generous amount of butter is perfect for breakfast.
Not much variety but the kaya butter toast is very good , kaya is flowing out .. kopi ok.
Went there for breakfast. The must tries are the nasi lemak and the breakfast set (toast with half boiled eggs). The nasi lemak was the bomb. I could eat 5 or 6 packets myself. It is THAT GOOD.
Good place to have a old style breakfast. Roti bakar is a must have. Generous slice of cold butter and home made kaya, in a crispy and fluffy hailam bread. Half boiled egg was perfection. Just nicely cooked. Also has other noodles to comement. Good choices.
The best soft boiled egg I ever had, perfectly boiled, not too raw or cooked. Toast bread and nasi lemak are great as well.
Great kopitiam. Simple, affordable, and tasty. Had the mee goreng, some other dry noodles, kaya toast, soft boiled egg, and laksa. I was hungry, OK? I was also with my family 😋
Best of the best breakfast spot in Melaka!
Kheng or 琼 is definitely a Hainanese coffee shop because 琼海 or kheng hai is in Hainan Island, China.Since day 1, they serve half boiled eggs, kaya butter toast bread, hot or cold beverage especially black coffee. Charcoal pit is used to toast the bread to bring out fragrance. Then, now there are two extra stalls selling chicken rice, laksa, yee kiao noodles.
Old school kopitiam with a perfect combination of toast, coffee and eggs.
Very tasty toast bread with butter Kaya. Half boiled eggs also taste good. Most delicious thing is their hainan cham. Good After taste
Local like traditional coffee shop. Focusing on breakfast. Must try their half boil egg and toast bread with kaya butter. The curry noodle also nice.
This coffee shop has been around for many years and it is located beside the main road of Jalan Tengkera. Lately it has expended its shop s space to cater for many tables and seats which is always crowded on weekends or public holidays.I like the pre packed nasi lemak and the toast bread. Prices are quite reasonable.
Yummilicious, still my best place for breakfast
Perfect toast and eggs. So delicious that we ordered 8 sets and the place was so full to the brim on a Monday.
Cold butter with hot crispy roti, top with soft boiled egg. The egg yolk was huge and not smelly.Better than the penang walkway side one, still need wait tho... a lot local come here for breakfast.Plenty table to sit, but order will take time for roti and egg, bcos everyone order the same.Better come before 9, most stall food are sold out after 930 something...but egg and roti still have.
Kaya butter toast and eggs are normal. Chicken rice not that good. Heard the Nasi lemak was nice but haven’t tried it. Overall just normal experience of a kopitiam.
I just hope that the tourists dont come here. This 3rd generation original old style coffee shop is one of the last remaining traditional kopitiam places in Melaka. Already, Im seeing a lot of local tourists. Once you get more tourists here, the place will lose its charm. Seriously to any tourists, just go to Jonker Walk, its way much better. Lets keep this place for the locals only and thank you.
A really old school kopitiam. We came at around 630ish and there was already quite a crowd.Lovely roti Bakar and nasi lemak. The nasi lemak were packaged in small packets which you can take from the counter yourself for RM 1 each. It’s situated at a busy main road so parking might be a bit hard to find.Overall solid kopitiam food to start your morning!
Typical Malaysian local coffee shop. Serve butter and kaya toast, half boilled egg, fried meehon, nasi lemak. Got chicken rice and noodle stall.
I’ve ordered a Cham (coffee mixed with tea). A bit diluted. However I love their bread toast! Nasi lemak also great.
Authentic great breakfast. There are few other store selling chicken rice ball, laksa and there is also small pack of nasi lemak and mee Siam each cost rm1 only! The bread is thin, crispy and taste great!! Must come over to enjoy the breakfast..
We like toast bread with cold and thick butter & kaya. Hainam coffee and kopi O was nice too.
The toast bread with butter (real butter and not margarineand kaya is very delicious. It is priced at RM2 per piece. It is a must try food for this shop.Next is the all time favourite: coffee.. typical Hainanese coffee.. tastes good. The chicken rice is surprisingly is even more delicious than the famous ones in Jonker street. Best thing is it is reasonably priced. One thing to note is that there are ample parking spots opposite the shop or along the road.
love this kind of traditional local coffee shop. love both roti bakar and half boiled eggs. you may visit om weekdays to avoid the crowd.
Authentic hainamese coffee shop, famous with its teh-C, half-boiled eggs and roti kahwin. Not to miss when you visit Melaka.
A great place for some nice and delicious Malaysia style breakfast, and this place is always crowded so need to wait before getting a table. The only downside there is hard to find parking around this area as there is another Kopitiam opposite of the road which are crowdy as well.
Not a very big place. Its the traditional coffee shop. Came here for breakfast, the place is a bit crowded. The coffee had a slight fragrance and the toast was slightly burnt and were good. The half boiled eggs were done quite well. The shop also served noodles and chicken rice balls. Parking can be a challenge.
One of the most authentic local breakfast! Tables set at the front courtyard under the canvas tied to the trees. Alternatively, u can eat in their living room. Crowd makes staffs busy but there is homely friendliness in the air. Nothing fanciful about food. It is simply tasty because persons preparing them have been doing it the same way for years, if not decades.
Arrived at 0830 hrs but nasi lemak is all but gone. No other choice but to order the standard roti kahwin butter and eggs for breakfast.Kopitiam that offers traditional coffee and tea, but may get slightly pricey. There are two others stalls that sells noodles and chicken rice within the same kopitiam that you may opt as alternative.
Chicken Rice Balls for Breakfast was just nice without the frills or expensive price tag. Coffee, toast and soft boiled eggs were good too.
Traditional Chinese kopitiam. The coffee is just normal. But the toast taste great, spread alot of kaya and butter. The noodles not bad,and the fish ball taste good also.
Friendly and nice environment. Multi racial customers here famous for nasi lemak, toasted bread with charcoal fire, Jalan boiled eggs. Not forgetting fantastic coffee.
It took me quite a while to decide to post this. Its a locals delight and not many tourist know or come here and perhaps it should be kept as such. Best Kaya toast I have ever had. The nasi lemak is also good and its only RM1. Amazing. The chicken rice is also good but sells out early. So be there early. Or dont. Its ok. 😅
Absolutely love the kopi, butter kaya toast and half boiled egg combo. True winner and hallmark of great Malaysian breakfast. They also have packets of nasi lemak and Siam meehoon which sells out really early. The chicken rice, nyonya laksa and noodles are worth checking out as well.
Great experienced in a little restaurant shop. Like the signature curry laksa noodles and couple with toasted bread or bun over an open charcoal fire and then gulped down with a hot cup of milk coffee or tea, it made a fantastic breakfast of the day.
