Protected habitat of elephants & two thirds of the world's remaining Great One-Horned Rhinoceros.
Amazing place…Must see:Rhino, elephant, royal bengal tiger, swamp deer, water buffalo etc.
Nice experience of jungle safari however we could not spot other animals except rhino
Must visit for flagship species of Single Horned Rhinoceros… Jeep Safari is advisable from Central Range and Elephant Safari from Western Range. You will go to virgin paths via Elephant Safari where Jeep can’t go. So Elephant Safari is must.
Indeed Kaziranga is the land of the big five, and worth visiting. Some tips from my experience: It is advisable to keep 2 days for kaziranga, one trip to bagori (westernrange where Rhino sighting is almost guaranteed as it is a wet land area. Second trip to the central range where being a high land tiger sighting is possible. But plz note tiger sighting here is a hard luck affair so decide wisely.I suggested 2 days also bcoz kaziranga orchid garden is a must visit both at night for the cultural program (₹300 entry ticketand in the day for orchids, tea garden, bamboo garden & museum (₹150 entry ticket).
Please visit in the month of March. In this month grass will be destroyed so you can see animals very well. This information given by jeep driver. Purchase good quality of binocular.
The park, which hosts two-thirds of the worlds great one-horned rhinoceroses, is a World Heritage Site.. Best timing is early morning for good sightseeing..
We are here in October end and I’ll say it is not a better time to visit Kaziranga if you are looking to see the animals. The forest were too dense in October because of rainy season. We were told by locals to go for western zone jeep safari. Its start from 7:30 am we took early one .It is better to sighting the Rhinos and if you are lucky might be you see 🐯. But for my luck i only get lucky to see rhinos, deers and hornbill from 100 meter’s far😃
Kaziranga has four different entrances where you can spot flora and fauna. In October merely two entances are opened I. e Central and western safari and that too merely Jeep safaris. At this time of year you cannot spot anything good since grasses are tall and animals cannot be spotted easily. There is no point in spending huge amounts to only see lush jungle and muddy trails of jeeps. You can merely spot one horned rhinos, elephants, wild boars, wild buffaloes( which can also be seen while crossing kaziranga through NH). Tiger is not visible at this point of time. Safari costs around 3500 per jeep. there are entrance charges which are to be paid with one Id. If you are carrying camera or a professional photographer you need to pay extra. No eatables are allowed inside park. Best time to visit jan - April
The safari here was one if the best travel experiences of my life. You need to book a safari by jeep which is available throughout the day till sunset. You can also opt for an elephant safari which usually goes early in the morning and is shorter in duration but you get the experience of riding an elephant. Take good binoculars and good cameras with you. There are a lot of species of birds and deer as well. Also please dont litter because the trail is kept very clean and you dont want to be the one jerk making a mess.
Kaziranga National park which is a World Heritage site, declared as Tiger reserve and hosts 2/3 of the worlds one horned Rhinoceros and home to large breeding populations of elephants, wild water buffaloes and swamp deer. Vast expanse of elephant grass, marshlands and dense forest, crisscrossed by mighty Brahmaputra and other rivers and several water bodies makes the visit a lifetime experience.Elephant safari is highly recommended
Location: Golaghat and Nagaon districtsArea: 1,090 km²Established: 1905Kaziranga national park remained closed from mid-April to mid-OctoberNearest railway Station: Furkating Jn. ( This is the main railway junction in the Golaghat district in the state of Assam in India. It is about 10 km away from Golaghat town.Distance from Guwahati : 190 KmNational Park is a protected area in the northeast Indian state of Assam. Ganges River dolphins swim in the park’s waters. It’s visited by many rare migratory birds, and gray pelicans roost near Kaziranga village
This is heaven for wildlife lovers. Kaziranga National Park is the home of one horned rhino as well as many mammals, including tigers, elephants, panthers, bears, and thousands of birds. It has a highest tiger density. There are jeep, boat and elephant safari is available. Apart from safari activity you can go for local village sightseeing, tea estate gardens and nearby biodiversity parks. It is the pride of Assam. It will take minimum 2 days to see the park. And it worth seeing.
A memorable safari & one of the best travel experiences of my life. Anyone here can book an elephant safari or they need to book a safari by jeep which is available throughout the day till sunset.Good quality, binoculars and cameras are recommended here for a better view. One of the other facilities are jungle stay. For which you have to book from official website only, it allows cottage inside kaziranga, but very limited number is available only. Remember not hotel its government cottage inside kaziranga.
If the elephant safari is available, Id definately recommend that. Its an experience your dont get to have often.

India’s one of the best national parks! It’s another vibe to see the animals chilling…the safari ride hits on another level. A place worth ticking off the bucket list.
Kaziranga national park is a well maintained heritage site. The journey to park was enjoyable with enough sign boards on both sides of road and speed monitors installed. Lot of focus on animals safety. We missed elephant Safari due to unavailability of elephants due to peak season. We did jeep sajari instead. This is undoubtedly the biggest , cleanest wild life park I had seen so far. There were so many water bodies for animals , lush greenery around. I could sense the comfort habitants would be in being here.Kaziranga NP is a must-visit when you are in Assam. I would recommend 3-4 safaris to optimally experience the Kaziranga NP. There multiple zones and every zone is different and beautiful. Each zone has a different landscape, flora, and fauna. Morning safaris are on elephants and afternoon safaris are in a jeep. I personally liked morning elephant safaris more as the animals were alert and refreshed in the morning. Also, it is very memorable to witness sunrise and fog getting lifted off the jungles. We went on 5 safaris in different zones, 3 morning safaris and 2 afternoon safaris. This turned out to be a very memorable trip! A must visit !!
Only few animal u can see like wild Buffalo, dear, fish, elefant, (Rhinoceros max. u will find)
Applauded for its greater one-horned rhinoceros conservation efforts, Kaziranga National Park is located in the Golaghat and Nagaon district of Assam. The popular national park is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site and houses two-third of the total world population of greater one-horned rhinoceros. Apart from the one-horned rhinos, the national park that sprawls in an area of 430 sq km also boasts high density of tigers, and a large breeding ground for elephants, swamp deer, and wild water buffaloes. The national park is also recognized an Important Bird Area (IBAmaking it not only an ideal wildlife sighting destination in India but a birdwatcher’s paradise as well.elephant safari and Jeep Safari should be booked early .
◆I recnItly visited the park on May and I would say its not a bad time to visit .I took the evening safari at 1.30 and went around the park witnessing rhinos, deers, pigs, buffaloes, birds and lots more . The greenery all around was really mesmerizing and soulful. And the cold and pure breeze relexas ones mind and body .The time spent here amidst the nature was one of the best times ever..would definitely recommend you to visit here and feel the nature ..🌿🍃◆Sitted on the edge of the Eastern Himalaya biodiversity hotspot, Kaziranga National Park is a UNESCO heritage site for the conservation of the endangered one horned rhinoceros in India. Edged by lush green tea plantations, Kaziranga National Park offers a splendid connect with nature. A memorable elephant safari is a unique way of exploring the forest reserve. Another option is to take the jeep safari, which offers the benefit of covering a vast expanse in a short span of time. The reserve is home to over 180 rare and endangered species apart from the one-horned rhinoceros like the Royal Bengal Tiger, the golden Langur, wild buffalos, Sambar, Barking Deer, Hoolock Gibbon, Capped Langur, Macaque, Sloth Bear, Gangetic Dolphin, a sizeable population of birds and a spectacular range of avifauna.
The haven of the One Horned Rhino…. Its a serene national park where you get to enjoy the blissful sight of Rhinos, wild elephants, buffaloes, beautiful birds and many other wildlife species. Both the safaris (elephant safari and jeep safariis recommended! Please note that the park is not open throughout the year so plan your travel accordingly… also it would be better to make hotel bookings before hand online as hotels are not always available due to the park being seasonal.
I had a good experience, so nice to have there. There were lots of foreigners who also visited, had fun with them too.
The experience was new. It was good. We went for a elephant safari at 6 am morning. Had a adventures memory travelling on the elephant. The morning scenes of the jungle was so amazing. Travelling on a elephant you will get to see the one horn rhinos just some feet away from you. You will also see deers, some wild birds and buffalos. They give you a elephant safari of about one hour and charge 800-1000 for it. There is also a jeep safari that starts after the elephant safari from 7am onwards. The jeep safari is cheaper than this but you cant experience it from close. Ill recommend the elephant safari all though you can also do both of the safaris.Cons: Dont keep so much expectations with you because this may disappoint you. Mostly you will see only 2/4 rhinos, elephants, deers and buffalos. Nothing else. In some cases you may not see any of this if the time is not good. The price is little at the higher side.
Kaziranga has its own charm and quite different than Bandipur or Bandhavgarh. The flora and fauna are different. Water bodies are more abundant, along with ferns and orchids. We visited in April when rain is a given, but you get your windows for elephant safari and jeep Safari. Still quite economic and yet not excessively crowded post Covid. Highly recommended.
What a experience to visiting park.. absolutely marvelous. it is very awesome look of park.Surely it should be coldest place in assam..You will surely feel fresh after visiting this place, come with colleagues amd enjoy this marvelous park view..
From elephant to famous one horned rhinos theres everything... Enough to say for this place.. well known by many people... Elephant safari was awesome here but I missed it... But one must look out to the waters too! Where I found some interesting turtles, at first sight i thought of tortoise... Well enough this place is awesome! And rarelyll find people who dont know about this place!
The national park is beautiful and you will get to see rhinos very easily but I couldn’t enjoy any of it because I was guilt ridden as I had opted for the elephant safari. Our elephant clearly didn’t want to be there and had to be beaten frequently. His ear was bleeding and there were old wounds that were recovering. People visit national parks to see animals in all their glory, not to see them abused. The way it was put on the website,I thought the elephant were treated with care as the number of safaris are limited. What’s the point of writing this on your board when it isn’t being carried out. It was heartbreaking to see the elephant being hit by this metal rod because he wouldn’t obey. I deeply regret that I chose to take the elephant safari. If you are an animal lover just opt for the jeep safari. You won’t be up close with them but atleast you won’t be part of their abuse.
From Elephant safari to witnessing the one-horned rhinos, this place is the best safaris I have had in India. Mornings are extremely early, so it is good to start the safari at about 5am. Doing the safari with the elephants gets you closer to the natural feel of doing a safari and is a unique experience. The open land and foggy morning gave the experience a dreamy effect. The elephants looked happy and healthy and we got a chance to feed them in the end which was fun. The rhinos are the star of the show and look so elegant.
Come and grab the chance to visit a :National ParkElephant ReserveTiger ReserveUNESCO World Heritage SiteImportant Bird AreaIn one Goand take away, memories to cherish forver
What an awesome experience. Though couldnt sight tiger but lots of animals specially rhinos. There are 3 main gates and 2 new gates. The most commercialized and well connected is kohora gate and lots of elephant and rhino but I think most beautiful and just for rhino is bagori gate. But make sure you have your own vehicle in bagori side as its not well connected. Must must do elephant safari.
Kaziranga national park is extremely coolest place in Assam. You can see the proper diversity. Last of February is the best time to explore kaziranga, in that time you will see the most animals while safari. We enjoyed a lot ❤️
What. A. Place. The stunning national park by itself is worth seeing. But the rhinos and the elephants and the migratory birds simply make it an outstanding experience. We went for three safaris at two different gates and were not disappointed.
There are 2 safaris. The Elephant safari gives a good feel of riding an elephant in the jungle. It is only 1 hr duration and doesn’t cover much of an area. Also, seats are limited and need pre-booking. The Jeep safari has generally no time limit (2-3 hrs on avg), takes you through the entire zone and gives better opportunity for clicks and sightings. The park has 4 zones- Central, Western, Eastern and Burapahar, the popularity of each is as in the above order. Each has its own landscaping and thus the flora and fauna differs zone wise. A circle around each zone is approx 25 kms.
Awsome place to visit during picnic and weekend 🤘 I am so happy to share my experience with my photographs but the place dont have enough water supply system for people.. Everyone have to buy water for their own use.. And didnt have free water taps of drinking water.. Thats why I rated 4*
Its wildlife heaven on earth. Those all are fools who visit Jungle to see tiger or Rhino. All big five animals are present at Kaziranga, but one should visit Kaziranga to take the natural feel of the Jungle and not only to visit with the wish to watch a specific wild animal.
Amazing National park to visit. Also a UNESCO World heritage site. There are a couple of entry points to Kaziranga. ( Kohora being one)I did a morning Elephant safari and a Jeep safari in the afternoon ( Jeep safari was along the Brahmaputra river). For a couple of hours, I was the only visitor in the National Park :since it was a Wednesday afternoon. The guide and driver took me to some interesting places !Chance of spotting a Rhino is quite high.Once can visit Tea Gardens, and the largest Orchid park in India.
Beautiful forest area. The elephant Safari is really amazing and worth every penny. The jeep ride is good too. Had loads of sightings.
One of the best national parks in India to immerse yourself in the wilderness. With four zones spread out, you can explore your heart out.Plus two safaris are available, jeep and elephant. I would recommend one to go for both as they both have their pros and cons. There are about 4000+ rhinos here and one can easily spot them grazing around. They are peaceful creatures, so please don’t disturb them and let them be. Sometimes there have been incidents of attacks when they were provoked.
From Elephant safari to witnessing the one-horned rhinos, this place is the best safaris I have had in India. Mornings are extremely early, so it is good to start the safari at about 5am. Wonderful journey through the park. Both the Elephant and Jeep safari are worth your time and money. Must visit place in the North East India! Elephant safari is for one hour and Jeep safari is for two hours.
Well organized national park that is home to One horned rhinos. Its one of the prominent remaining habitats of the rhinos in India.
Marvelous experience. Suggest everyone to visit this place once in lifetime. And do not miss the elephant safari early morning 5 am.
The plains of Assam are fresh green and endlessly vast, impress a lot. The place is very clean and people appear to live a much cleaner and comfortable life. The place is a heaven for the one horned Rhino. Its vast grasslands & swampy water provide the idea habitat. The park is well managed.Kaziranga leaves beautiful impression as the reserve offers you a truly great landscape with lots and lots of wild rhinos, wild elephants, buffalos, swamp deers etc. We can visit the jungle with the help of jeep and elephant safariThe place does not have monkeys it seems ( for there are no fruit trees suitable for monkeys looks like, atleast I did not spot any).Brahmputra river crosses the national park, and the area around the river is also full of exotic birds. We spotted a lot of Pelicans thereAnd there are plenty of lakes too in the park that have lots of fish in them. The road from Guwahati to Kaziranga is flanked by endless tea gardens on both sides that makes the journey awesome. We enjoy a lot. I recommend this beautiful place of Assam to all natural lovers.Thank You
Nice safari ! But you have to be luck to find animals roaming around. Timing is important. You can visit at 7 am to see the rhinos and elephant.
Beautiful place to feel the nature. Must visit. It is opened from October. Now jeep safari is started. You will visit their website for more informations.

We visited Kaziranga National park in February, which is a good period to visit the forest. The jungle safari takes you through various regions of forest and you will be accompanied by armed forest official. It is rare to get tiger sighting, but elephant, deer and mainly rhinoceros sightings are common. They also take you to bank of beautiful Brahmaputra river.
All those who have thought Indian one-horned rhinoceros only existed in Jurassic-era, then a trip to Kaziranga is a must for them. One of the most sought after wildlife holiday destinations in India, Kaziranga National park’s 430 square kilometer area sprinkled with elephant-grass meadows, swampy lagoons, and dense forests is home to more than 2200 Indian one-horned rhinoceros, approximately 2/3rd of their total world population. Formed in 1908 on the recommendation of Mary Curzon, the park is located in the edge of the Eastern Himalayan biodiversity hotspots – Golaghat and Nagaon district. In the year 1985, the park was declared as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. It is said when Mary Curzon, the wife of the Viceroy of India – Lord Curzon of Kedleston, visited the park to see Indian one-horned rhinoceros; she wasn’t able to found even one. Then she persuaded her husband to take urgent measures to protect the dwindling species which he did by initiating planning for their protection. After a series of meetings and documentations, the Kaziranga Proposed Reserve Forest was created with an area of 232 km2 (90 sq miin 1905.
It is one of the best National parks in the country. Located in beautiful state of Assam this is the must visit tourist destination when travelling to North East. We went there in the month of Feb which is very apt time to visit this national park. It makes you fall more in love with the nature. There is an elephant safari early in the morning which one should definitely go for. There is an option for morning or afternoon Jeep safari. If you go for elephant safari then afternoon jeep safari would be best. This place offers you mesmerising flora and fauna.
