Church of the Icon of Mother of God of Kazan at the Red Square. Church was accomplished in 1625. Communists destroyed church in 1936 during so-called reconstruction of the Red Square. Church was rebuild according to old photos and documents in 1990-1993. Moscow, 🇷🇺Russian Federation 🇷🇺. May 9, 2021.
Awesome place!! 🥶
Every time I visit Moscow I try to visit this place for a bit, if possible. Im a Baptist, but I do know how to appreciate some good Orthodox culture. The small church, the peaceful atmosphere and the amazing choir stand in defiant contrast with the institutionalized, soviet relics outside combined with the industrialized & commercial GUM.
This place is very good and you can click very cool photos here.
A beautiful Orthodox Church in the Red Square.
It is a beautiful cathedral
This small church is tucked away in the corner of Red Square between the State Historical Museum and GUM. It was founded in 1636, but the original was demolished during the Soviet era. Today’s church was built in 1993. The cathedral may be small, but that just lends more to the atmospheric peace and stillness. It’s free to visit.
Very beautiful temple

It is a beautiful cathedral.
O nice very nice
One of the interesting attractions to visit at the Red Square is the small and quaint Kazan Cathedral, situated in the northeast corner of the square near the Resurrection Gate. Opening Hours are 8am to 8pm daily. This is a reconstruction of an earlier cathedral that was consecrated in 1637 and then demolished in 1936. The cathedral was rebuilt between 1990-1993 based on historical records. The design resembles other historical Russian Orthodox churches in colour and design scheme with a single dome above the main church and a single tower building.Inside, you will find a small but highly decorative interior with iconic images and other items associated with the Russian Orthodox faith. Worth finding is the replica of the Icon of the Kazan Virgin, the original having long been relocated to St. Petersburg. In the end, the Kazan Cathedral is an attractive and interesting cathedral to see during time at the Red Square. You can comfortably visit in 10-15 minutes before making way to other intended sightseeing endeavours.

👍🏻
Situated next to Rym Shopping Mall, the Kazan Cathedral is outstanding among the building around the Red Square. It is a relatively small Russian Orthodox Church.
This small cathedral is used by the locals, its not like the others cathedrals that we only see tourists. You gonna spend maybe 15, 20 min.
Stunning and ancient Orthodox church
The colors of the Kazan Cathedral instantly make it stand out from its surrounding buildings, and the architecture, which is so different from cathedrals in western Europe, is fascinating.
Very nice
