It is a great restaurant with delicious food and service in one of mkst unique places, an old fortress in the heart of Banja Luka.

Great food but not impressed with the service.

Very good food for friendly prices. Great choice of local food. However, the waiters could not let us wait 15 minutes until asked what we wish to order.

Not a great place to eat the typical dish meso Ispod sača. But, a great place to eat Čorba!The decoration is super beautiful and location is perfect.

A bit more simple cuisine that one expects from a huge restaurant located in the castle. Service was ok, though this huge place was served only by a couple of guys and we had to wait too long for being approached every time. Draft beers are limited to 2 local lagers.

Located at the Banja Luka Castle itself and the River Vrbas bank the restaurant held its ancient scent. Kitchen where food is prepared is just aside of tables so you can watch preparations and enjoy beautiful environment. Personnel is great, just there if you need them but not too exposed. Food is great, as you would expect. Enjoy!

Good food and the view is great. Not expensive. The down is that they charge the bread even if you dont ask or even eated, and its 5€.

Very beautiful place, old fashioned, but with a contemporary kitchen at sight. Outside a great view of the river. Waiters very gentile and prepared. Huge choice of dishes. Very good bread and soups. Cakes fantastics. I dont remember the names, but the two chosen were very very good. A little orchestra with traditional songs, had cheered the dinner. Extremely good experience.

This restaurant has everything: great food, great location and wonderful people working there. We were surprised how good was the sea food they prepared, something totally unexpected for location that suggests BBQ, river food and cakes.

Slow service, overpriced, average food. The place itself is set inside a part of Kastel, and I guess thats what you pay for. 3 people waited 40 minutes for food, and out came only 2 dishes, waiter had forgotten one of us and we were told that hed get his food in just a moment - that moment turned to another 20 minutes of waiting. It has all the hallmarks of a tourist trap, avoid it if you can since there are so so many other places in B.L that rise above it.

More than an hour wait for regular cevapcici in not busy Day. Not tasty food. Hard rumsteak. Maybe its worth to Come to have a glass of wine or beer in such historic setting but definetely not for a lunch

The food was very good, however the waiter was very condescending and rude with us. We were very respectful the whole time, and we dont know why he didnt like us. At the end of the meal we paid 40km with a 50km bill, he took his time to count every small coin he could find in his wallet to give us 10km with as many coins as he could. He straight up shoved them in my brothers hand, the coins spilled everywhere, even his colleague was ashamed of his behavior. We counted the coins afterwards, and it wasnt even the right amount.

We were lucky to come to this restaurant on a Friday evening to enjoy the very pleasant live music that really added to the whole experience in this charming castle. The woman who served us was very sweet and welcoming. The food was very good, especially the homemade sausages!

If you love beautiful medieval setting, breathing in history from hundred years ago while looking at the amazing river Vrbas come and have great meal 😍

Wouldn’t let us sit outside, while other guests coming after got seats without reservation. After 10 min without anyone taking our order, we went.Waiter smiled when we left.Go somewhere else.

Even it is a very historical place, food was terrible and especially fish is so bad. Waiters rearly respond and food quality is terrible. Dont even think to dine there.

We wanted to have an appetizer/dinner (2 couples of friendsme and the other guy went to ask if there was room or if we could make reservations for the next hours.We walk in and we were greeted by a waiter who immediately told us that there wasn’t no room because it was full booked for the whole day. (Strange because it already seemed half-empty from the entrance.)Stranged at how we were treated and almost discriminated against, we let our girls to go in and after 2 minutes they called us to came in because they found a seat.We enter and the same waiter who had turned us away a few minutes earlier was surprised to see us and starts talking behind our backs with colleagues.Very strange and unpleasant attitudeOtherwise: the place is nice and we had a good aperitif

Kazamat comes highly recommended anywhere you look. After looking at pictures of the food and the menu, I was a bit on the fence. When we arrived, they wouldn’t let us sit outside because it was “rush hour”. There was one table outside with people eating and many empty tables. Inside was equally empty. I had to ask multiple times when it might be possible to come back to eat outside later today or later this week. The waiter had to ask another unfriendly waiter who first yelled no and then said 7pm. They were kind enough to let us see a menu. I think the appeal of Kazamat is its location and the ability to dine on the River. Staff were unfriendly and unprofessional. I won’t be returning 😅

Good food and friendly staff at lunchtime, but the evening staff are older and not at all friendly. Some have the 1000 yard stare.

A must visit if you come to city of Banjaluka in Bosnia.Located in actual fortress, this restaurant is one of the oldest restaurants in Banjaluka. Service, the food and total atmosphere is just amazing and you will feel like you are transferred back in the time of medieval.Worth to mention also that "Kazamat" has one of the best terrace in the city over looking the beautiful and green river of Vrbas.Prices: I was so surprised that this restaurant has very affordable and cheap prices comparing to the other restaurants in city of Banjaluka.Whenever I am in the city of Banjaluka, I am always coming back to Kazamat to have a tasty lunch or dinner and enjoy my time with the friends and family. Cant ever go wrong visiting Kazamat.

An actual prison back in the days - now redesigned and a wonderful restaurant. The on the bell dishes are totally recommendable. Note it contains some fat. Location and view is insanely good.

This traditional restaurant is one of the must-visits of Banja Luka. Its one of the oldest of the city and is situated inside the actual Fortress. The view on the terrace is superb, especially compared to the views from the restaurants in the center. They have a ginormous menu card, so not everything will be fresh. They combine traditional Bosnian dishes with more Western plats. If you want fresh, excellent food go somewhere else. If you want a Banja Lukian cultural experience in a comfy atmosphere, come here.!

Delicious dishes at fair prices. Portions are decent and you wont be hungry. If youre eating outside you also get a nice view so if youre in the area definitely stop by, you wont regret it 👍

Nice view, food is ok but could be better. Always feel like something is missing. Portions are really big but pricey. I would rather get a smaller portion of something that tastes better. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Good coffee. Staff is not that kind. Mostly older people come there for business meetings or family lunch. If you want to go in the evening, make sure you make a reservation first. Its nice in spring and summertime to enjoy the view of the river. 😊 Someone might also appreciate the interior in a style of medieval castle.

Excellent food, attentive staff, we didnt have to wait long for the food. I recommend the veal under the bell and the poppy cake for dessert. Romantic location with an excellent view on the river.
