Very neat museum, amazing selection of Kazakh art both classicwl and abstract/surrealist. Big variety of mediums like paintings, sculptures, even tapestries and traditional kazakh instruments and clothing.Also has a great selection of European and Russian art!They even have a VERY modern wing filled with recent kazakh artworks.Very cool! Entrance was incredibly cheap. It even has Braile and raised indentations for blind people to experience art.

Недружелюбное к туристам заведение. На телефонные звонки не отвечают. На двери, на сайте и на картах Гугл написано, что в субботу открыто. Пришли - закрыто. Трудно было об этом сообщить? Фу такими быть.

Wide variety of art with plenty of older works from 16th century onwards. The place is not gleaming and modern but serviceable with large exhibition spaces. There was also quite a bit of sculpture, much if it in bronze. To top it off there was plenty of Kazakh content both as subject matter and through the nationality of the artists. Varying temperature from inconsistent air conditioning but not uncomfortable.

A very nice museum. A large selection, and very privatem the price was about $1.50 per person when I visited and well worth it. The staff were all very kind and worried that I was not wearing enough warm clothes for the cool temperature.A great experience I highly recommend.
