Probably one of the nicest restaurants Ive been to in ages. The Kilpatrick and Mornay oysters had even my mum who doesnt normally eat oysters going back for more. Everyones food was amazing everytime Ive been. The u and me app makes it easy to order and your own pace. Staff are friendly, everything is clean. Ive everytime Im visiting my family on Sunshine Coast Ill be visiting the Kawana Waters Hotel.
Garlic bread was great, steak was dry. Definitely go with some veg, the salad had an overwhelming taste of bitter hay. Oh and two glasses of beer both had floaties in them.
Asked very politely for a refund on pork belly that was 90% uncooked fat and 10% meat and then white rice. Had one mouthful before asking politely and was given the most condescending response from a “manager” saying “that’s what pork belly is, it’s fatty” and then him telling me they can give me a complimentary drink as “most of the meal was eaten” still in the rudest manner. One mouthful was gone and it was disgusting and a complimentary drink was not suffice for a $33 meal. I asked to please just receive the refund and he basically stormed off, super weird, kawana surf club looking like the new local. I’d worked in hospo for over 8 years and if I ever spoke to a customer the way I was spoken to I would’ve kissed goodbye to my job long ago.
A party of 10, we arrived in time, had to search for the booked table, then went to get menus, told sorry no written menus, have to order using the app. After trying to read a menu on a phone my husband went up to counter to order, but told could only pay cash. Sounds suss 🤨 When the food arrived, pretty ordinary and not hot. Requested the fan above us to be switched off as it was a cool night, that was ignored (it was the only fan on and we were outside). Will not be going back any time soon. Management needs to smarten up the staff and deliver some good old fashioned customer service if they want to attract more clientele.... and go back to ordering by paper menu, NOT via app only!
Great dinner. Had the parmigana and it was delicious.We had a small issue with ordering drinks but both Jay and Michael handled the issue extremely well. Thank you!
Just had a terrible experience. Ordered our meals using QR code as kitchen closed. Said meals are 45 minute wait. We ordered a salad and schnizel thinking it would be 30 mins max but after 50 mins asked the waiter passing by (who really had no carehow long meals would be and he said an hour and half. Meals came out 5 mins later. Schnitzel was nice but DO NOT ORDER THE POWER BOWL, absolutely no flavour. Very disappointed!!
Should be zero stars, a complete shambles, 80th birthday, people eating more than an hour apart after ordering together, food has to be ordered via QR code no menu service. Meals were not wot was ordered an absolute shambles wish I could swear about this turn out
I went to an engagement party there and the food was great bar service was a tad slow at times but found the pokie room bar was always quiet so just went in there
Had a very nice, and relaxing stay.Our host was Vicky who was extremely accommodating and friendly with tips for local attractions to visit.Would definitely stay again when travelling through The Sunshine Coast or neighbouring areas.Reasonably priced food with a discount of 10% and a complementary drink upon arrival. Free on site parking. Multiple retail shops, restaurants and amenities nearby.

Went twice. First time service was good but not so good 2nd time. Messed up a few things. Food was nice, staff very pleasant and prices ok.
The family went there for dinner. 4 of us had amazing steaks cooked to our liking one member of the familys steak was undercooked we called over a staff member and they were very quick to rectify the situation and apologetic The staff were amazing, the cocktails were good and it was pleasant night sitting out on the deck. We will definately be going back.
Everything here gets served up stone cold, we have gone for 5 Friday nights in a row and stopped going here. The food is just terrible. The only thing that did come out every time hot was a steak, cold snittys, cold entrees and this is five fridays in a row. I then put an extensive review on google that mysteriously disappeared explaining the complaint procedures I had followed, promises from the manager that never happened etc etc we gave u 5 fridays of chances now we are trying new venues
Had the steak for dinner tonight while overlooking the beautiful marina and it was amazing! Perfectly cooked food and beautiful atmosphere 😁

Had my son’s 21st dinner there. Great price p/p, meals were great, no hidden expenses, all the staff went above and beyond to make everything perfect, including pre-organisation emails, cleanliness, friendly & smiling staff, kiddies activity packs, water & glasses with a gift table ready to go. It was a really great evening. Very much appreciated.

Worst restaurant ever. Staff couldnt find booking. The place was extremely understaffed. Wait ages in line to get drinks and they dont even ask who is next and serve some that was there after you. Ended up leaving going to hungry jacks whick had more staff and better service. Wouldnt recommend to anyone! Oh and it it was meant to be a nice family dinner celbrating mine and my wifes 10 year anniversary so thanks for that Kawana waters Hotel
Not a great experience last night. They got the booking time wrong, got the booked table wrong. I understand we have to order through the app, but no one checked on us, or got us water. Food was very average, lukewarm and just not very good. Ive seen the great reviews which is why we went, perhaps we caught them on a bad night.

Ordered our meals at 1:15pm via the app on the table which warned of a 30 min delay... 1 hour and 5 mins later 2 of our 3 meals arrived but the barra and the parmi were dark brown in colour... overcooked to the max and unpalatable. A clear sign that the kitchen cannot cope with the number of customers and are failing dismissally at multitasking. The kids play area is just plain dangerous with no supervision and a wealth of metal-legged plastic chairs upturned by the screaming dozen kids. Lift your game guys!
Well I need to say it was not my favorite places. It is not designed for people who shall we say are not ok with a QR code sort of existence. There were 12 of us went there for lunch, suffice it to say it was disaster. They did not have any hard copy menus. I found a menu on my phone eventually. When food arrived an hour later, most was fine but my steak was a little on the "dark" side. Deserts also were quite long in tooth by the time they arrived. Its a big place and had plenty of custom but its only for the QR set.

Came here on a Wednesday night & not busy. Unable to read a menu can only order at the table, which means I could never bring my 80 year-old parents here. Waited for 1hr 20mins for a meal to have such an under cooked steak. Ordered medium steak came out raw. The worst experience. And your website asks for a tip. You have no service so what are we tipping in. Woeful
Ordered a beer via the app and it never arrived, so had to chase them up about it. Very average food quality. Terrible service from this kitchen on a quiet Wednesday night. Table had been booked in advance. We all ordered within 10mins of each other using an app and 7 people were still waiting long after the rest of us had finished. After multiple complaints I spoke to the manager and 5 meals appeared. Complained again and the other 2 finally arrived, after we had cut the cake up. Staff not interested in dealing with complaints. Take your business to a locally owned place with real service.

Food generally good. Went early to book a table due to special seating needs of elderly person ..all booked confirmed table there and then. we arrived on time to find our reserved table had been taken over by another group of people 5 mins before we got there.Staff said ohh well cant do anything about it now..which they could have however did then sort another smaller table but this took time..not acceptable Kawana tavern. Others had reserved tables they were not given away!
Dear OWNER, listen to what people are saying.Great venue, reasonable food all spoilt by a totally impersonal ordering system that is in fact an insult to customer service, and aside from that your ordering APP would not work properly and I could not pay from the card i wanted to. You need to have a long hard look at what customer service is all about before you have little or no customers left. Bring back printed menus and waitresses. We wont be back. Sorry.
Very dissapointed with the food. No care taken to prepare our meals. Our steaks were overcooked and greens were raw and I could go on. Its a real shame for such a cracker pub to serve such piss poor food.Fingers crossed management come in and set some some expectations with their kitchen staff because its not like steak and chips is a complicated dish. Lucky I was hungry or I would have asked for my $70 back

Went there June 5th 2022 for lunch, they use table App ordering but it doesn’t work. We ordered our drinks and food, the drinks didn’t turn up for 20 minutes so we asked a waiter to check. He came back and said there was a printer issue and they are on the way. No drink for another 15 minutes, we went to the bar and checked again, this time they said they ran out of the wine. They didn’t even have the decency to tell us the just didn’t fill the order. We had to get a manager to help us just get our bottle of wine and they didn’t even apologise. Expect this service form them if you go.
3 out of 5 meals were quite disgusting, and the 2 that weren’t were below average.• Eggplant parmigiana was a soggy mess, and went unfinished.• Calamari must have been straight out of a packet, yet still worse than any packet I’ve ever tried. Tasted like chemicals. Went unfinished.• Chicken Caesar salad had a near frozen poached egg and chicken, far from fresh.There was no offer to rectify when I mentioned to the kitchen my partner was unhappy, I was simply told “That’s how we make it.” Went unfinished.• Oysters were the smallest oysters I’ve ever had, otherwise tasted fine. Not amazing, just fine.Was finished.• Chicken Parmi was okay, and was finished.Notice most 1 star reviews seem to be occurring in the last few months, yet seems there’s been no effort to rectify.I don’t consider myself very fussy, and never feel the need to leave reviews, however considering 3 out of 4 of us left still hungry for $160,I’ve never experienced so many misses in one sitting. Also made an effort to speak to the kitchen and all 3 people that approached me couldn’t care less when they realised I wasn’t happy with our meal.Nobody came to check if we were happy with the rest of our meals either, probably because they could sense we weren’t with all our uneaten plates.Thanks for nothing team.Should’ve gone to Macca’s.*cue automated response pretending to care about quality and “continuous improvement.” :)
I wish to express my upmost frustration and disappointment with your ordering system. Not having waitresses is an insult to the customer. And is unpersonal. We go out for a meal and we want personality at the table. You ask for a tip, what for, there is no service. Charge $2 extra and have a waitress if your that desperate. We are a table of 20, and we will not be back. Remember 1 customer tells 10, so you have actually just lost 200 customers because you chose to save approx $25 hr on your waitress tonight. If you had good waitresses you would have made a lot more on their up selling skills. Ie. 15 entrées plus garlic breads plus more drinks.
Staff member was trying to be smart when we tried to order food telling us we cant pay at the counter. Understood you can pay at the table but we knew what we wanted and wanted to pay cash. We then asked for two cokes. The man poured us two beers? He was so focused on other things he ignored the very people paying his wage.Very under qualified and English was not good at all.
My friend and I had the herded crumbed barra dishes.my fish was a good size but my friends was very small. After asking why the young lady came back and said it goes on weight.i asked her do you think that weights the same as this one.Her comment was no but the chef said it is right. Unfortunately I didnt take photos as I didnt think of complaining any further I was not going to revisit.
A lovely restaurant overlooking the marina. The food was good, especially the crumbed herb burrumundi, will not hesitate to order that again. The assistant manager, Michael, was very helpful in organising a different table for us when we arrived at the restaurant. Great service from all staff members.

Its so amazing to see a full house with some eased restrictions, the vibe was fantastic.Food was brilliant and cant wait to come back and try something different. It took me entirely too long to figure out what I was having this time, so much amazing food!
Terrible meal for the price i paid. Salad was wilted and looked past it’s used by date. Only a handful of chips served with the overly cooked fish. Extremely disappointed with the quality of the meal. Not worth recommending to others and certainly not worth going back again.
I booked a room for one night after a fishing trip and didnt want to drive back. I have stayed here a few times now, but the last 2 times have been very average due to stains and hairs on the bedding. Management were told and changed the bedding I think you should look for a better cleaning service company.
Booked a table for 8 people and when we went in the manager named Michael looked like he had no idea what was happening and it took 4 staff members all huddling around a laptop to try and work out we’re we could sit !.Shortly after we ordered are food and drinks and when the glasses came out we had to take them back up to the bar because they were extremely filthy like they hadn’t even been rinsed so ofcourse we just wanted a new glass but it was that bad the bar tenderer said she couldn’t find a clean glass and had to refund us for our coke! While that was happening we noticed a swarm of fruit flies all over the pre cut lemons that you couldn’t miss and they were still serving to customers ! So we asked for a full refund which was a mission itself for the entire table as we could only imagine what the condition of the kitchen and the food would have been like .The manager Michael showed that he was extremely inexperienced, had no support from other management and had extremely low standards we will not be returning back here again until their is a new manager atleast !
We had a lovely meal here and have been many times. Our problem was their new ordering system ~ ordering both food and drinks and doing payment from your table.We were shown how it works by a waitress and she left. 10 minutes later we finished the order. Another 10 minutes I went to the bar to see how long till we get our drinks which a waiter then brought straight away, 1 tap beer and 1 bottle of cider. Then food arrived 10 minutes later which was great. Then another 5 minutes a waitress arrived with our drinks ~ this was a double up as only placed one order, she left them as she said they would be thrown out.Obviously this new system needs some tweaking and someone needs to be following up to make sure it is working.Also do not like the fact that all my personal details including my full debit card details are stored in their eftpos machine.
Went here for Sunday lunch. Two people. Place wasnt busy. Had two drinks, $28, while we perused menu. We chose simple entrees and mains. Went to order at the counter. Had the sign in the photo up at the cash register. Almost half of the interesting things on the menu unavailable. Ordered the fish of the day. Sorry, no fish of the day. I asked for a twenty minute delay between entree and mains, cost $94 for two. Ok. Bought a bottle of wine, $56. Waited an hour for food to arrive. Mains were delivered after an hour. We said we had entrees coming first. Waiter started to take food away but we stopped him because we were hungry and the thought of our meals sitting in a warming tray didnt appeal. Five minutes into the meals and the waiter turns up with our entrees. I asked him what we were supposed to do with that. He apologized and left them on the table. They might have been having a bad staff day, but to have so much of the menu unavailable is inexcusable. One of the unavailable items was vegetables. How can a restaurant not have vegetables? Further, note that the food is very ordinary. The parmigiana and salt and pepper calamari were both the pre prepared portion controlled stuff thats delivered in packs from their food wholesalers. No chef creations here. The waiter apologized for the order problem, then returned and refunded our $94. Nice gesture, but when you go out for a lunch, you just want to have a nice lunch. Wont be rushing back, there are plenty of choices on the sunny coast.
We stopped here randomly on the way to the beach for a drink. Lovely staff and a large, different range of alcohol to choose from. We loved the views of the boats. Didnt get a chance to eat here as the kitchen wasnt open yet. Staff were nice and helpful.
Stopped in for lunch on a particularly hot day. Unfortunately the hotel’s air conditioning isn’t the best and made for a hot, sticky and somewhat unpleasant lunch. That aside, service and food was excellent ... the grilled barramundi was awesome. I’ll be keen to come back on a cooler day.

The menu and prices left me a little lost for an affordable choice for lunch or dinner at a different time. Bar prices well over the top too. For a casual pub/ bar atmosphere where you order and collect your own meal from the counter, get cutlery in a little pouch and have to request salt and pepper Im probably not going to be going back..Sorry to be a downer but it was just not what I was expecting.$26 salad seriously..
