Waited 50 min, they took the wrong dish, after ordering in writing.Grilled squid hard (as rubber).At least 3 tables with local people were served before us, being arrived after.A lot to be improved

Wonderful fresh food!

We had a very friendly service and fresh tasty seafood where mostly local Greeks were also eating. There is a sea view as well, very calm location and prices are really good.

Simple food, expertly executed. Family run. I blew kisses at the cook while I ate. That is not like me. I was compelled to make the staff take a photo with me. That is not like me either. I love this place so much I will travel from Canada back to Heraklion just for a meal here. Seriously. Eat here.

ΑισχοςΚαθαρά Δευτέρα, είκοσι λεπτά αναμονή για να κάτσουμε ενώ τα μισά τραπέζια ήταν ελεύθερα και κανείς δεν υπήρχε για να μαζέψει τα πιάτα από τους προηγούμενους. Όσο καθόμασταν για φαγητό τα τρία διπλανά τραπέζια έμεναν με τα αποφάγια των προηγούμενων, ενώ γάτες και μύγες περνούσαν υπέροχα. Τα πιάτα ακριβά και η ποιότητα πολύ μέτρια.Στο τέλος που ζήτησα λογαριασμό και να μας μαζέψουν, έφεραν την απόδειξη χωρίς να δώσουν καν κέρασμα όπως στα γύρω τραπέζια( λογαριασμός 40 ευρώ ).

Εξαιρετικά όλα όσα γευθήκαμε. Γρήγορο άψογο σερβίρισμα, ήρεμοι και πολύ προσηνείς οι άνθρωποι του καταστήματος. Πιάτα ολοφρεσκα, καλομαγειρεμένα. Απίστευτη ποιότητα, ισορροπία στις γεύσεις, στ αλήθεια εστιατόριο πού, όμοιό του, δέ βρίσκεις εύκολα... τιμές τίμιες γι αυτό πού προσφέρει. Ήρεμο και ήσυχο περιβάλλον.

This looks like a mom and pop restaurant. The place is not hard to find. Food is delicious. Service is very friendly. Nothing fancy but very comfortable.

Καταπληκτικό φαγητό. Το καλύτερο στο Ηράκλειο και από τα καλύτερα πανελλαδικά.. Ντολμαδάκια από τα χέρια της κ. Μαργαρίτας, μπακαλιάρος σκορδαλιά ( από τους καλύτερους που έχω φάει στη ζωή μου), καλαμάρι ψητό (αριστούργημα), και γαλακτομπούρεκο για γλυκό να κλαίς

Εξαιρετικό σπιτικό φαγητό. Πρόσφατα απολαύσαμε φρέσκο ψάρι σχάρας (κολιό και σαρδελακαι τηγανητό (Μαριδάκιπου ηταν πολύ καλά ψημένα και περιποιημένα. Κάθε φορά όλα είναι πολύ νόστιμα και οι ιδιοκτήτες μας φροντίζουν! Ευχαριστούμε

Krétai ismerősünkkel mentünk el, ő ajánlotta és hát ha valaki tudja hova érdemes menni, akkor az ő, hiszen Heraklionban él. Görög módon rengeteg előételt kért és mind nagyon ízletes volt. Egyszerű kis taverna a központban, ha valaki nem akar elegánsabb helyre menni, akkor nem fog csalódni.

Exceptional family owned business. Every dish is superlative, but I loved the grilled squid. Friendly and efficient service and very fair prices. You cannot really ask for more!

Resto familial, produits frais et de qualité. Les courgettes frites et les champignons grillés en entrée sont à tomber 👍.

Friendly service, absolutely no tourist trap. Great seafood and desert! No doubt a very nice place for a relaxed evening and good food.

Fish of the day is amazing, as are the grilled langoustines. Do not bother with the fried anchovies and sardines though.

Πάνω από 30 χρόνια ένα από τα καλύτερα της περιοχής. Ολα τα προϊόντα είναι φρέσκα και πολύ νόστιμα. Μου έκανε εντύπωση η γαριδομακαρονάδα νοστιμότατη από φρέσκες γαρίδες. Πολύ καθαρά και το προσωπικό πολύ ευγενικό.

Awesome family run spot; the service was friendly and the food ever better. Best Moussaka I had in Greece!

Very friendly owner. We found the place from the Lonely planet but was pretty much empty though. Not sure why as the portion were pretty big and the food was awesome. At the end, as in many others places, we were offered free dessert and raki. Loved it!

Our hotel was a three minute walk from the restaurant. It’s about one block back from the waterfront and all the tourist restaurants. It is family owned and operated and everything we had was delicious. The Moussaka was the best I had in Greece - outstanding!

Neat tavern with welcoming hosts, we have tryed spaghetti with shrimps and classic Greek salad and they were quite good for reasonable price. The portion of the spaghetti could be even too huge for two persons tbh. Also after the dish they compliment us with delicious piece of homemade pie.

We have tasted delicious urchin salad for the first time in our lives. It was delicious. As well as the rest of the meal. Thank you.

We crossed by this restaurant just by chance. The food was a very simple homemade style but so delicious thar we went back the night after. Serving may appear a little bit "rustic" and they dont speak any other language than greek, but give them a chance and you will be satisfied!

Ristorante carino, situato in pieno centro ma in un angolo completamente fuori dal caos (punto forte, senza dubbio). Cucina nella media, si mangia bene ma niente di speciale. I piatti sono molto semplici.

Really good and familar restaurant with fresh and homemade meze

Amazing food and excellent service, the Cretan food and the people are just wonderful. We ate twice at this restaurant and enjoyed everything we had ordered. Grilled Sea bream, Calamari, lamb chops, snails, salads, wild mushrooms, saganaki, mashed split peas.. all so so good 👌🏽plus a complimentary dessert 🍮

Do not miss! Great real Cretan food, especially seafood!!

Wonderful place! Near the coastline. The owners Mom is the cook! You can actually taste this! The fish is fresh and melts in your mouth.We were tended be the owner personally. Great traditional greek seafood!!

If you feel like youre eating in a Greek mamas home, its because you are. Situated away from traffic on a sweet, lively square, this family-run taverna serves authentic, delicious Cretan food, made with top-quality ingredients and love and pride that you can taste. We thoroughly enjoyed the homemade taramasalata, sautéed greens, stuffed zucchini flowers, shrimp saganaki and grilled octopus — all prepared simply, but to very high "foodie" standards. As our kind and friendly waiter placed each dish on our table, he proudly declared, "Made by my mom." A huge helping of a honey-drenched custard pastry — "made by Mom" and compliments of the house — brought out evening to an exceptionally sweet finish. Thank you, Katsinas, for a memorable and delicious evening in Heraklion!

Great food, very friendly service and nice location. The food is delicious, home made by the mother of the waiter who will proudly tell you what his mom cooked today. Products are fresh and dishes delicious. Highly recommended!

Seafood plus friendliness plus fair prices

This place was fantastic! My husband and I were in meat heaven after eating the pork knuckle for two. The house wine and bread were great too.

Our first night in Crete, after 10 days in the rest of Greece, and we arrived late, thanks to a torrential downpour. But even so, room was made for us, and a table set, and a sequence of superbly-cooked simple-looking dishes resulted: red peppers, beetroot, pork chop, and "meatballs" which were works of art in themselves. After we called for the bill (at around 1am), we were presented instead with two small glasses of ouzo/raki, and a superb milk pudding. Add a bottle of decent local rose wine - and the total came to a staggeringly low €40. A wonderful evening.
