Katok - Restaurant in Chimaltenango, Guatemala
Delicious traditional katok meal. Menus in Spanish and English. Full meals with juice and coffee for 3 adults was ~$19 usd
Very friendly. They explained the menu very well to us. Amazing atmosphere
Huge portions, delicious food and great coffee!
This was a great restaurant! Good service, amazing food and good portions.
Incredible breakfast, fairly priced, loved everything but particularly the tortillas with cheese... superb!!
Guatemalan grade meat is no good but this place imports it and prepare it amazingly!
My father has always loved this restaurant. I did not care for it many years ago, but it was on the way to our final destination and we were hungry. Their breakfast menu was impressive. Portion size was average, food temperature was good. Service was outstanding. Very clean restrooms. As a side note I sent a photo of the restaurant to my father, and that prompted communication that had been strained for The Last 5 Years. Thanks for the Memories.
Excellent restaurant...we loved the food, great customer service .
Great service, great ambience, great food. A++
Very good service, very good food, they sell their own products,
Delicous Food, very recommended!
Excellent food, very tasty, clean restrooms, and great service.
I must go back, the taste of all of their food was wonderful, an experience itself (there are no words to describe how amazingly delicious it was), the staff kind and the place has a great decor and children friendly yard.
Katok is a classical restaurant at the side of the road. Great steak house and very clean facilities. The food wont disappoint you!
Food is delicious, even though a little overpriced for the area. If you order anything with churissos you cant go wrong
Very nice place on the way to Lago Atitlan for a good meal. Great service and tasty food. Its a large place with great seating and ambiance.
Beautiful place the food is good
Excellent service good food and beautiful place. It is worth the drive.
Food is exactly what you expect from this type of restaurant.. excellent service
Great food....service was not that good!
Great COVID precautions, sadly food not great and expensive. We prefer the other two restaurants and fantastic deli.
Nice place for a midway stop n snack. The touchless menu was a great idea. A bit expensive for a place among other restaurants that has nothing amazing to offer.
Best typical Guatemalan place, you will not be disappointed with anything. Very consistent quality and great pit stop
Ordered a well needed Mocha Frappe and a Pastrami sandwich. Both were delicious.
This is a wonderful restaurant. There decorations are beautiful, the staff is helpful and the food is delicious!
A good place to eat at anytime. The coffee served with the breakfast should have refills and could be better. The prices are relatively expensive. The staff attendance should be better.
Perfect stop for the weekend drive, hard to find service or a table on Saturday morning, any other day is fine.
Fresh ingredients, excellent service, and all our food was awesome!
This place was as nice as 14 yrs ago when I first came to visit Lago de Atitlan. We decided to stop by this place again on the way home from Atitlan....food is good, although the soup I had was a little bit on the salty side. Entire restaurant was clean, so was the restroom. Would recommend everyone to stop by and give this place a try when in the area.
We ate here on our way to Lake Atitlan. There is a variety of food on the menu and it is a large place. Service was strangely scattered and we had to track our server down several times for missing items to the dishes. Then plates were rushed away the moment it seemed we were finished. This was 8:30am on a Saturday. Probably less frenzied later in the afternoon.
Must visit placein Guatemala. If you are in Tikal or on the way to Panajachel you mist stop and eat here. Beautiful cabin log with hand made tortillas and home made food and very cheap prices i was surprise woth the prices
Great Food, great service
Delicious breakfast food with excellent service. Been there 2 times and both experiences have been great.
Very simple... Food is outstanding they need to work in the service just a little bit but overall a great place
Really amazing typical Guatemala food. The aesthetic of the place is gorgeous.
Amazing food. The staff is friendly and always attentive. Great service. I loved it. Cant wait to go back again
Great service and delicious food
The roasted pig is delicious and a spectacle.
Great place for tourists in the "tierra fria," the highlands of Guatemala. Stop for a large, TASTY meal while en route between Guatemala City and a western town. See tortillas made by hand. Shop around for souvenirs at the surrounding boutiques.
Freshly made tortillas. A must stop place for breakfast , or lunch on the way to Lake Atitlan.
Food was beyond delicious. We went for breakfast and dinner. I was quite delightful experience! We need one in the the U.S. Orlando FL.
Loved the food!!!! I’d recommend this place! It’s a great place to stop for a bite to eat in the road! Even the bathrooms are cute!!
Great ambience, definitely recommend the hot chocolate on cold mornings!
We stopped here for breakfast while traveling from Guatemala city to Atitlan and what a wonderful decision it was. Make sure you come empty stomach cause otherwise you would be full in their complimentary starters itself. The typical guatemala plate is really tasty and highly recommended with the “divorced eggs”. Also a must try are there black maiz tortilla. All there products are developed in their own farms and very healthy.
Even though I had the French Toast which may not be typical for Guatemala they were very tasty. Very good service. Waiter was very attentive.
It has a huge range of prices/quality/quantity in their dishes. A meal for one, including a drink (non-alcoholiccould go from 70q to 300q depending on what youre ordering.Quality is quite good, but they tend to overcook the meat (if you like medium rare, ask for red center). Nothing tastes bad, some things taste good or ok, nothing Ive tried is spectacular. The tortillas are quite good. The specialty burger is good, looks very big but thats because of the bread. Pickles were a bit thicker than what youd get at a fast food joint. Bacon was actual bacon, thickish cut.As for price: I went with my family and we paid 400q for two 12oz meat plates (including rice, guac and salad), a burger (with fries), a soup, three entree-soups, one large beans-and-cheese tortilla entree and five drinks. Id say its a fair price. About $70.Its a good place to stop by to eat when traveling from Atitlán to Guatemala city.
This has been my favorite restaurant in Guatemala. The food and service is excellent. This is a great place to stop between Panajachel and Antigua.
My favorite was the hot chocolate!People are just wonderful. Warm friendly attentive. My family had coffee and it kept coming in! Guatemala has beautiful warm friendly well educated people! I will definitely can recommend and will be coming back, Once I visit Guatemala again.
Saturdays and Sundays you can order BBQ Pork with a great flavor. They cook the whole pork in front of you.
