Kati Ap' Ola in Thessaloniki

I came here for an early dinner on my own, and what an amazing little place it was! As I was torn between all their great dishes, I ordered three half-portions, which were definitely more than half. I tried the rice with mussels, the chicken with mustard sauce and the grilled veggies. They were all delicious, and I even had a lovely dessert on the house. To top it off, the people who work here are super smiley. If I lived here, Id visit often!

*UPDATE* Oct 2022*****Since my first review in August 2022, I have been here multiple times now and the high quality of service and food is consistently great. ****It is very rare I give 5*s, especially in Thessaloniki but based upon my first visit today as I found myself just passing by after a business meeting nearby, I am very happy to tell everyone that the Ελληνικοί μεζέδες that I had today was εξαιρετικό!It was perfectly cooked, well presented and delicious. (Note, I did not have meat or fish dishes so I cannot comment on those items).The service was attentive and efficient. Staff was helpful by doing their job well AND also by immediately and discreetly switching to English when I got stuck with a few new Greek words. Unlike many others, they did so without being patronizing. (I really appreciated that).Portion size was perfect even for a 1.8m tall gym guy like me, the style and ambience of the room was clean, bright and stylish.Finally, the prices offered great value for money.I highly recommend Κατη Απ Όλα, and that coming from someone who is as fussy and pedantic about food and service quality as I am - is really saying something.Μπράβο σε όλους στην Κατή Απ Όλα!

Great place to eat - fast service, delicious food and affordable prices. No tourist baits. We had a few appetisers and a main course - each of them was really good. The waiter made sure we had everything we need. The portions are quite large. So large, in fact, that weve decided to skip the complimentary dessert. Its worth the walk from the White Tower :)

When in Greece where fresh fish is available, order fish, not the usual meats. The grilled bread was nice, Russian salad was good. The fresh fish was tasty, slightly overcooked. The grilled squid was overly salty and overcooked. We ordered too much food. Very friendly, helpful. The chocolate dessert was very nice.

Extremely delicious food. Nice, friendly staff. Loved it. We will definitely visit it again.

Hands down most fair priced meze in Thessaloniki. The plus side is that they were also delicious. This is now one of my favorites places.

Stumbled across this place on Google maps. Not much to look at, but dont let that fool you. Had the fried feta with honey, courgette chips and calamari... I have one word: AM-AZ-ING! The food was very fresh, hot (the calamari was so tender!and very tasty. The prices are very reasonable and the service was great. What a good find!

Excellent food. The grilled shrimps were especially tasty. I paired them with some grilled halloumi. The perfect combination! Would definetly come again!

We absolutely loved the food, the place and the staff here. Very affordable prices, the food is delicious and it comes in big portions. The mussels soup was my favourite and we tried many appetisers which did not make it to the photo stage. The desert is on the house and it’s finger-licking good 🤩.

Amazing place, very cozy, fast service, great menu and delicious food. I ordered Κολοκυθοκεφτέδες 4€ (traditional Greek zucchini dish with feta cheese and zadzikiand Μαστέλο 5€ (grilled cheese with jam). It were starters, but I was full! We were in the evening at 9 and there were a lot of empty seats.I recommend it! This is a great place!

It was great experience. Greek style dinner and atmosphere! Young guy helped me a lot to choose the best cheese for me. I had mastelo cheese, seafood dish and fava. All was great. In the end I was gifted with a free dessert.

Thessaloniki has so many good dining options, here was one that we tried in the city that did not disappoint. Wait staff super attentive and friendly. English menu with many options to choose from. We left satisfied and full. Good recommendation to try- loved their grilled sardines.

What a place to eat at Thessaloniki! Food, service, atmosphere, prices, desert. All beyond the best youd think for the area. Truly amazing, every single thing we had was stellar. The seafood is the high note i think but everything is very well prepared. Courtesy desert was also fantastic. And the prices are more than fair! Gets very busy so better to book early.

Wonderful Greek tapas restaurant. Full of locals, excellent food and friendly helpful staff. The fish is delicious, good portions, clean toilets and restaurant, and warm. Highly recommended

Hidden Gem.We had dinner on 24th August 2020. The place is lovely. Very nice decor and the place is spotless clean.It is downtown about 20 min walk from the city centre very close to the seafront. The food was plenty and about 30% cheaper than the ones in the tourist area. Very well presented and all of generous portions. We had salads, vine leaves, grilled fish, grilled chicken, grilled liver all of excellent quality and very well presented. And they brought us a very nice selection of Greek desserts on the house.Definitely worth a visit if you are looking for something more geared up to the local Greeks and a very authentic night.

We ate at this restaurant a few times during our stay in Thessalonika. It’s a family taverna with an excellent food. The service is very kind, warm and authentic. We food is made with love and really fresh and quality ingredients.We can’t wait to come back. Highly recommended.

We had several dishes including a fresh sea bream and grilled octopus, Greek salad, Cabbage salad and Vine leaves with rice. Everything was awesome.

Had Greek versions of paella. Tasted bland and over cooked. The fresh fish the table next to me had looked much better.

Outstanding service. Quality of food is amazing with very fair prices. I can truly see why this is such a hot restaurant. Highly recommend the steamed mussels. As a tourist it was perfect to try many small plates and a variety of Greek food. If I find myself in Thessaloniki again I will most definitely be returning to Kati Ap Ola.

If you want to enjoy with local food, I recommend you Kati Ap Ola. Very good food and extraordinary services.I also recommend To Tarti (for locals), or gyros to Ogirostis Ellados and Taj Mahal (coffee & hookah- narguilé).

We really enjoyed it. The food was good and fresh, the price was decent and the waitress really nice. Its filled with locals which is always a good sign.

Good food at pretty fair prices. Portion size was smaller than most Greek restaurants Ive been too, but the food was all cooked extremely well and service was good. Of course, like most tavernas, a small dessert is included. Id definitely recommend the dolmades, gigantes (baked elephant beans), and grilled octopus for appetizers and the rustic sausage for a main dish and then sharing it all.

We just arrived in town and this place was recommended to us by our AirBnb Host. It didnt disappoint. We had planned on going to 2 places listed on Trip Advisor but went here instead. The owner was fantastic and fun. The food was simple, delicious and gas. Our teenagers wouldnt stop talking about how great everything was. Weve been traveling the world for the past 10 months and we all decided that this is in all of our Top 3 meals of the entire trip. And thats from SE Asia, Eastern and Western Europe, Canada and Australia. We will go back again for sure
