Katakolo Port - Tourist attraction in Pyrgos, Greece
Arrived on small cruise ship. Easy disembarkation and embarkation
Wonder the village and enjoy the food and beverages
Such a charming little town. Would love to spend more time there.
Got off Explorer, lovely shops in a smallish village, walked down onto a small beach, had a couple of drinks in a lovely friendly taverna - - great WiFi too!
I know it is just a port for cruise ships, but there a lot of lovely shops and restaurants along the front. The beach is lovely, the sea is so shallow you can walk out waist deep for a few hundred metres. Free sunbed and parasol as long as you buy a few drinks.
Ship was berthed close to the town. Larger ships have their passengers walk a fair distance. Shops are for the tourist & can be good for the last minute gifts. Lively feeling in the town with good tourist restaurants.
A great day of weather. Nice hop on/off bus trip and great cafe at port where I fed 2 kittens with my lunch. Really nice clean and tidy shops with some quality clothing.
Small port with 2 cruise ships in A row of restraints on harbour fron and the main Street one street in front harbour
Wonderful small beach side town
Beautiful, pretty port. Plenty of cafes and little shops within walking distance of port. Lovely place to wander around, shop owners very friendly.
Nice port with lots of gift shops and restaurants
Not a lot to see. One small street with various shops. Shopkeepers work hard to try and make a living off the cruise ship visitors.
Sea facing restraurant serving delicious finger licking fish and beer. Small beach and simple town city. Its a wonderful place to make vacation.
Very small port with a good few shops etc. Staff I had contact with were very helpful and welcoming. Even had a history lesson on the Greek flag that I bought ( buy one everywhere I goand also on my own history...lol..apparently the Welsh are the only nation to fight back the vikings, so the shopkeeper informed me 😁
Nice place, although can be very warm during summer months. Descent night life but dont expect much. Food is great, so are restaurants with fresh fish in their menu
I have been here 22 years ago with my parents when i was working on a cruise ship. I came here with my family after all these years and found the exact same spot where my dad could choose his fish from the fridge. The port had changed a lot into a fancy cruise port, shame because it lost his authenticity. Before it was just a little port work these little fishing boats, now the seaview n is just a wall of the port😟 My father died 21 years ago so it was an extra emotional visit. I found the restaurant "Karousos"The food is still perfect after all these years. Prices are good, waiters are lovely. I hope to be back in 20 years or so❤️
Its 3 small streets of shops and restaurants, but its picturesque, and a great place to spend the day!
Very nice place. The food is amazing
Lovely cafes on front shops at rear.
Surprised that such a small town had a port for cruise ships. Nice gift shops along the main street, directly opposite the port, with great prices.
A one street stop full of tourist shops. Walked from ship to beach restaurant/drinks service, complete with sunbeds and parasol. Rows of them. Free for customers to use. Also a beach changing hut with catch that worked.Sea is only about a foot deep for a hundred yards out! Ideal for me! Warm.Partner swam until she encountered jellyfish.Leather goods seemed cheap. I purchased 2 belts for 5 Euros each. So fours pounds odd.Nearly forgot...there is a very modern train service to Olympic! 33 km away. Morning out if you want to get back.ok!
The Katakolo Port is small and simple but works very good for its purpose. There is a decent duty free store and the security guards at gate are very friendly. The main road with all stores and restaurants located in the ocean front are within walking distance. Good structure.
Nice place to stay and hang out.. And beautiful beach..
Nice place to have the beach with the white sands
Right place for a short stop at the beach with souvenir shops and greek coffe bar specialities
Stunning place !!! Peaceful and not overcrowded !
There is a very nice beach about 15 minutes walking distance, I loved it!!

Its a very clean port well organised and with a lot of restaurants around the port. A lot of means of transportation are available close to the pier easily.
A few taverns and cafes some souvenir shops a play ground and thats it
Small port but nice view around.Staying for a while.
The Best Area from Grecce
Nothing special ,besides the visit tô Olympia
Small port where people makes you feel at home.
So very different now that the cruise 🛳 ships are mored up... very quiet
Beautiful harbor all mountains surrounded . Awesome small medieval like city in it, that you can have a guided tour of no more of a couple of hours.
There is so much to see and to learn and of course there are nice places to enjoy a coffee...
Generally clean, the local shops were convenient, and we found the tram to Mount Olympus efficient and inexpensive.
Short bus ride from the port to a lovely old harbor which had a high sea swell that day! Visit the market where the bus stops wonderful!
Beautiful place and one to go back to.
Nice and clean port. Shops and restaurants at walking distance. Only small duty free shop inside the terminal.
Peasfull and calm place, beaches are almost empty, very little tourist or most of the tourist seem to be greek.
Cosey, small port. Excellent shopping opportunities and gateway to Olympia
We just passed thru the port, on our way to beautiful Thea Beach, at Kourouta. Went well, quickly. Duty free store present also w kind personnel.
Very nice port with great shopping. Good food. Fair prices. Close to beach with great laid back atmosphere.
Nice sleepy village port. Port near Olympia, site of the original Olympics in Ancient Greece. Lots of cute shops and nice cafes along the waterfront. Good Buys: Olive Oil Soaps, statues, jewelry.
