Beautiful castle situated on the top of the hill

Great place to visit, with very kind staff.

This castle was not far from our hotel so we visited it first. 10 oclock wasnt crowded, just a few people. Tickets cost 4eur. There are museum-like rooms, but there are not many things to see. On the roof you will get a nice panorama. Should be careful when climbing upstairs, the stairs are slippery and steep. On the day we were visiting, half of the castle was closed due to restoration work.

Μικρό και ωραίο. Ελπίζω να ανοίξουν σύντομα και τα υπόλοιπα τμήματα του κάστρου. Η είσοδος θα μπορούσε να είναι 0,50 - 1 ευρώ φθηνότερη, για το μέγεθος του κάστρου, αλλά οκ είναι φουλ προσεγμένο με αρκετό προσωπικό έτοιμο να σου δώσει πληροφορίες σχετικά με τον χώρο. Αν είστε στην περιοχή να πάτε.

Εκπληκτικός αρχαιολογικός χώρος με ιδιαίτερη αναφορά στην περίοδο της Λατινοκρατίας. Δεσπόζει στην περιοχή, έχοντας πανοραμική θέα σε όλο τον κάμπο .Η επίσκεψη σ αυτών τον αρχαιολογικό χώρο μπορεί να συνδυαστεί με επίσκεψη στον αρχαιολογικό χώρο της Γλαρέντζας (βρίσκεται πολύ κοντά στο λιμάνι της Κυλλήνης .

Great Castle in a beautiful village! a visit is a must!

Okolo hradu sme uz dlhší čas jazdili a keďže dnes bolo z rána pod mrakom, rozhodli sme sa ho navštíviť. Veľmi pekné a zaujímavé miesto plné histórie, dobré dostupné autom. Čo ma veľmi teší, že sa stále na hrade pracuje a renovuje.

Krásná pevnost s menší expozicí. Určitě stojí za návštěvu.

Very beautiful and well maintained castle, worth seeing it. There is a parking for cars jn front of the castles entrance. It would be nice if it could be open also in the evenings.

A one of a kind castle with a history lost in the mists of time. Still standing after eight centuries, having seen so many conquerors only to be claimed equally in the recent times from the elements of nature. Its position that endowed it with such an extraordinary view is the one to blame for being so sought after in the past. Todays visitors, however, can peacefully admire the panoramic view looking through its crenellations. The four euro ticket is unworthy a price for such a sight.

Εξαιρετικό κάστρο-μνημείο από την παρεξηγημένη στην Ελλάδα, μεσαιωνική εποχή της φραγκοκρατίας. Ιδανική ευκαιρία να θαυμάσει κάποιος, εκτός από ένα καλοδιατηρημένο μεσαιωνικό κάστρο ιπποτών, μια συλλογή από νομίσματα (ασημένια κυρίωςμίας μακρινής εποχής, όπου είχε μόλις αρχίσει ο εκχρηματισμός της φεουδαλικής οικονομίας της ευρωπαϊκής Δύσης. Πολύ εξυπηρετικό το προσωπικό της υπηρεσίας αρχαιοτήτων. Σπουδαίο αξιοθέατο της περιοχής που χρήζει περισσότερης διαφήμισης από τη δημοτική αρχή.

One of the best preserved castles in Greece

Castle Chlemoutsi is an incredibly preserved 800 year old Frankish Castle. The view is also great, the islands of Zakynthos and Kefalonia are visible.

Great spot to explore and get a feel of what medieval times were like . 15 min from the port of Kilini good place to visit if you are waiting for the ferry .

You can only visit the top of the wall in the summer

It was cheap (2€but not very hospitable or much to see, they could have given a much better exeprience

Its a small castle, you cant see much of the rooms, but has a beautiful view of the ocean

Find your way up the hill to the castle and visit well preserved and intact place. Great views and history.

Parts of it are inaccessible because of maintenance. Otherwise very nice and good for kids. There is as well a mini museum inside, with no extra charge. Ticket cost: Adults 4 € kids 2 €.

Very nice castle, well kept. The view is splendid as the location was strategically chosen. A visit to recommend.

Great 12th century Frankish castle/palace. It has partly been restored and hosts a small but well presented medieval history museum. Probably one one of the nicest castle ruins in greece. So if you are into this kind of relics its a "not to be missed".Great view of the peninsulaCloses at 15:00 and closed at Mondays

Beautiful castle and beautiful panoramic view of ionion sea.

Few thing can be so inspiring than visiting this magnificent castle! Having the amazing view of the Ionian sea and the plain of Elis as a set, the visitor of Castel Tornese can easily find himself envolved in a direct dialogue with knights, princeses, historical figures of the glorious past, of the Times of the Kingdom of Achaea!

Unfortunately we visited on a Monday and the castle was closed. We enjoyed a walk around the perimeter and the views of the surrounding village tho.

Well worth visiting, for the history and the amazing views.
