Kasira Fine Thai Cuisine in Nanaimo

They use magic plates which look bigger but actually are smaller in portion size. We had to go to McDonalds after eating here as we didnt feel full or satisfied. It was the flavor of the food which couldnt even match Thai Express. Server was friendly and working really hard. We felt bad for her as the food was taking really long and this affected her tip % rate. No reason to go back there for us.

A longtime favourite and it never disappoints!

Well, the portion size is definitely fine dining level, but not the taste. Aside front the soup, which is very spicy(hot, the rest of the foods are quite bland. Bit disappointed since they have such a good rating on Google.

This wonderful thai place was across from the hotel we were staying at. Where to start, we had a young , energetic server with a great contains positive attitude.. Her service was impeccable and attentive. We had two appetizers 3 dishes and a fried rice as well as a couple of desserts. The sticky rice with mango and a deep fried ice cream. The food was heavenly, my hubby and I were so full and content.. A really nice treat in Nanaimo

Best thai place imo in Nanaimo. Food is flavourful. The pad thai and the prawns in a blanket are our favourite. Cant wait to try more. Only wish they delivered.

Great to find close-to authentic Thai food in nanaimo. Delicious, I chose Red Curry with Thai spice. Hot & delicious. Potstickers not heated up enough. Good Thai sauce on them. Friendly attentive service. Spoke with Joy the chef. Sincere Thai hospitality.

I really wanted to like it, I got take out and the server was super friendly but the food was just so disappointing. I ordered two dishes; chicken pad Thai and chicken green curry. The green curry was really watery and had very odd vegetable choices (broccoli, zucchini that seemed raw), but what I was most surprised by was the extremely tiny portion of rice I received with it, it honestly couldnt have been more than half a cup. The pad Thai had a really tangy flavour - it just wasnt as good as the pad Thai Ive had at other restaurants.

Great atmosphere and even better food!Definitely my favourite Thai restaurant in Nanaimo, perfect if you’re looking for authentic Thai food. The staff where extremely sweet and the Pad Thai was the best I’ve ever had! Will for sure be coming back!

Its about as good as I expected from Nanaimo. The food was decent but the taste was very white-washed. The service unfortunately was not as great, the server was friendly but seemed to avoid us as our food was taking a long time. They seemed to prioritize take out orders over customers dining in (our first dish arrived after 45 mins). I guess I would suggest only to take out from this restaurant.

Great authentic Thai Food. I highly recommend this place if you love Thai spices. Try their signature dish "Spicy Duck", its top notch with a world of wonderful flavors. 😀

Lowest quality fake Thia food I’ve ever had.The “green curry” was totally white, thickened with starch, and missing key ingredients including the eggplant and green peppers!It’s not green curry but the taste isn’t bad. It’s just sone kind of made up coconut curry and it’s really overpriced for the massive corners they are cutting compared to the green curry I’m used to in Vancouver for the same price.For reference, the $2.00 cans of green curry are significantly higher quality and don’t skip key ingredients to save money.

The food is fresh and delicious, easily my favourite Thai spot in Nanaimo. Try the Thai tea and seafood soup! Excellent food, service, price, and the owner is a Joy!

First time here. Very poor service. Placed order without eggs, received order with eggs. Server denied it was eggs. 1hr later, left without my dinner.

Pleasant staff. Found tables a little too close. No barriers between tables. Enough food for the and quality was a 4 out of 5.

My friend and I had a great meal here today. She is vegetarian and they accommodated that, and I had the regular pad Thai (she had the green curry with tofu and ordered rice noodles). It was pretty good! I would definitely return to Kasira! Server was very kind and quick as well!

The service here was great! Our food was awesome and there was lots to choose from. The washrooms were clean, although there was significant water damage on the roof of the ladies room. Everything was distanced for COVID-19, and they provided hand sanitizer.

Just on a whim, my friend and I decided to go to Kasiras for dinner. She wanted to have the the duck special, but I had a chicken curry of some type. I have never been keen on duck, but once we had shared taste tests, I have moved into the light. It was delicious!, and so crisp!

This was the best Thai food Ive ever had!!!!! It was so so so good! The veggies were fresh and cooked perfectly and the spices just right. The taste was just perfect. 💯💯💯

kasiras has the best thai food in town! love this little place. so good. sometimes theres a wait but its totally worth it everytime :the service is good and the food is worth the wait. weve been getting take out a lot more during the pandemic, thank you for staying open!!

We stopped here on our way through Nanaimo. The spring rolls and the Spicy Old Man were delicious and fresh. Lots of vegetarian and vegan options too!

Great food decent atmosphere very helpful staff.

Very busy so be prepared, and good food takes time to prepare.We got here around 7pm on a Saturday and had to wait 5 minutes for a table. Got our drinks right away, ordered our food a few minutes later and had a bit of a wait but it was worth it. The flavours and aromas were making us very hungry. We had the appetizer combo for 2, chefs special lamb and chicken pad thai. All the dishes were very tasty. This restaurant is definitely very popular with locals and Ive heard some of their regulars drive more than 30 minitutes from neighbouring cities to eat here.

Great food. The staff was very nice. I love that they put a lot of vegetables and protein in the dishes rather than filling the meals with just rice or noodles. Most dishes are only a dollar or two more than any other Thai place.

Very underwhelming waitresses. Food was good though. Had a chicken pad thai and wasnt displeased. There is a very bland vacant feeling to the whole place. Very dark depressing atmosphere.Very Pricey. More expensive than it felt like it was worth. If not for Google maps I wouldnt know it existed. Hard to find if its your first time eating here. Needs better frontage/location.

We have tried to call and order from Kasira on numerous different occasions.Twice we found out (through Facebookthat they were closed, and today I tried calling numerous times during their open hours and no one answered. I called about 6 times within 40 minutes - no answer.Id love to give a higher score but unfortunately I cant seem to interact with them if my life depended on it.

Small quaint restaurant, lots of operations across the menu. Service was decent but not noteworthy. Food was really great! Pad Thai was very delicious! I ordered the medium spice pork. Spice was barely detectable. 2-3 local craft beer options and a basic wine selection. Will return!

Pleasantly surprised by very good food on my first visit. Does not have the decor of a high end restaraunt but if you are looking for delicious Thai then you have come to the right place.

Ok Thai food. The spicy was actually spicy but the overall flavor of my Pad Ki Mao (Drunken noodleswas kind of blend. My friends pork and shrimp dumplings smelled delicious and he seemed to like them. Considering how busy the place was with a huge group arriving all at once, the service was decently fast. Easy walk from the Best Western.

Weve been coming here for many years and are never disappointed. The food is exceptional and the service is great. Kasiras is a regular dinner spot for us, with the green curry being a particular favourite. I always recommend it to our out of town friends and they love it!

I went In for some take out and the waitress was very kind .(Jamie..she took my order and got me water while I waited . Kept me informed the whole time I was there and made me feel welcome. Very good food and great atmosphere :)

This is a place were I can go to help a restaurant out. By moving forward into, There always favored and Very tasty, Wonderful and experienced place to eat; Thai food. Extremely great servers that always are very welcoming and that are glad to show you around. Help you with any question while sitting you down for the most amazing Rice,Noodle,Soup,alcoholic beverages fabulous duck and more. Terrifically delicious.

Waited 30 mins for appetizers, 45 mins for food. Very slow service, staff cant seem to handle the restaurant with only half the tables seated. Lots of staff there but mostly sitting around. What happened to this once great place?

Have eaten in many excellent Thai restaurants, in Toronto, New York City and elsewhere, so have some variety of experience. John, the owner and master chef, is a sushi making machine! Excellent presentation, fresh great variety, excellent portions, super service! Couldnt ask for anything better and while Nanaimo has other decent Thai establishments, we dont bother going anywhere else! Try it, youll be hooked ;)

Food here is fantastic and well priced. Easy to share and great date place. Some dinner line up to get in but worth it! Clean, polite and efficient service makes it even better. Also love to support interesting family owned local businesses in our community.

I find the dinner quality better than at lunch, though Im not sure why. Weve also shown up a couple times to find it closed so check their hours before you drive out there! Overall, positive experience.

Kasira Thai is the best restaurant for the value in Nanaimo, period. The food is always consistent, full of flavor, and fresh. The value is excellent for the quality vegetables and proteins Kasira always serves. Get carry out or dine in, you wont find anything healthier or more fresh in Nanaimo. This is a restaurant for those who love flavor. Order the Evil Jungle Curry that no longer graces the menu, its delicious.
