Classic Moroccan fare like kebabs & couscous served in festive surrounds with opulent decor.
The service is amazing but the food cuisine is not my type. I suggest at least try it once if you havent tried Moroccan food maybe youll love it maybe you wont like it
So glad Kasbah is open again. My wife and I have been coming here for over 18 years. We stopped by last week for some takeout, and learned the dining room is opening as well. The couscous is without equal, and the warm olive salad is not to be missed. Needless to say, the service is legendary.
My boyfriend and I went here for dinner last night and we were blown away with the quality of the food. The lamb date tagine was incredible, as was the chicken pastilla. The owner was extremely friendly and provided top notch table service. Would recommend for any of my friends looking for authentic Moroccan cuisine. Will be back!
Just finished eating the Kasbah Feast. It was sooooo tasty. Even as takeout, it looked beautiful. Very flavourful. Was given mint tea to go with it which is lovely as well.
Service and food are top notch. This place has staying power for a reason in a world of constantly changing restaurants downtown. Always a wonderful experience and meal - and truly allows you to step into another world away from the concrete jungle that surrounds this oasis.
Enjoyed the calm ambience in a noisy urban area and the food was exquisite; nicely spiced and amazing mixture of flavours. Service was excellent; I expected a bit larger portion of couscous.. The only reason I selected 4 stars. Will return.
We enjoyed this restaurant very much as the food was delicious and presented very well, and the service was friendly and prompt. The owner is friendly and took the time to answer our questions about the menu options. Everything looks, tastes and sounds delicious, so we are looking forward to returning to try more!
Very nice atmosphere.Pretty good food, chicken was delicious and tasted clean.Lamb is a must try with their couscous.Fish I found not bad.I found everything but the lamb a bit light flavoured, but it’s a nice thing for me, but I found the opposite in many other Moroccan restaurants, where the flavours are a bit strong.Moroccan Tea is a MUST TRY here!!Very authentic and delicious.Overall experience is good & would love to visit again.I recommend hiring more waitresses.
We had ordered 2 large platters of couscous Royale for a dinner party. Khalid and his wife went out of their way in preparing this order for us. The food was fresh and flavourful and the presentation was very appealing. We were impressed and so were our guests. Thank you, Kasbah Village, for helping to make the evening a successful one.
a charming place, the food is very good, I ordered a tajin, it was really delicious, one of the best Ive ever eaten in my life. also the ambiance was good, you feel tranported in Morocco for few hours
Worst restaurant ever. This is not real Moroccan food at all. The dish I wanted to order sold out at noon. The server refused to come back for another order because he was busy. The server technically dropped a dish on my table and never checked back. I had to request for the bill and then the machine. Cant believe I wasted money and precious lunch hour there. Will never go back again. To respond your review: thank you for your apology. I wont go back, though - one time is enough. Being busy is supposed to be a good thing for a restaurant. You cant continue using it as an excuse to provide poor services and terrible food. I suggest you to staff for the lunch rush hour. No one likes to be treated as a secondary citizen because you cant handle your workload. Good luck with your business.
Great Moroccan food, but they don’t have an accurate opening hours, I went before and shocked it was closed although the lighting sign “Open” was opened ! so I did pay a parking lot for nothing. They should update their opening hours in Goggle and it is not convenient to call each time before coming to see if they are open or no. I don’t have problem with their prices but I noticed that they charged for the service !
From the moment you walk in you are greeted and welcomed. This level of friendliness stays throughout the entire meal. Decor is comfy and inviting. But the food. The food is a symphony of aromas and flavours. Had the vegitarian couscous and it was fantastic. Definitely going to become a regular as of today.
This is one of our fav locations to have authentic Moroccan food. It is a family run business so you will have the owner serving you. Pleasant atmosphere and wonderful food. We always do a shared appetizer along with our mains. The portions are pretty big on the mains.
Friends recommended this authentic moroccan cuisine place as he is of Moroccan origin we can trust him. Food was good and service was courteous. Decor feels definitely authentic!
Wow, what a great little restaurant...20 years ago we had the pleasure of dining at this great Moroccan restaurant. The owner moved to a different location and we lost contact.Being stuck in traffic, we noticed this restaurant and recognized the person sitting at the window.... I look it up on the internet and made the phone call and asked " Caleb" the owner if he used to own the restaurant on Bank ,yes I did....😀I made a reservation that evening...The dinner, service and drinks 5 stars..✨✨We are so happy that we found you again.Looking forward for our next dinner at your establishment..RegardsMadlen and Daryl WadsworthReMax Delta realtyOttawa ,Ontario
Amazing food, with amazing flavors. The atmosphere was great, and our host was very personable. The prices were reasonable, and the menu had lots of options. I will go out of my way to visit this restaurant again the next time I am in ottawa.
We could not have seen more please with our experience here! We managed to try an assortment of foods by getting the combos and sharing our plates and everything was stellar! The ambiance, service, and drinks were also fantastic. We look forward to visiting again and to recommending to our friends!
Ive been here a few times over the last few years and everytime it exceeds all expectations! From the decor, to the atmosphere, the service, the food - its all incredible!Centrally located in downtown Ottawa and they have a great lunch menu! Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a great dining experience.
The owners were super warm and friendly. Love the seating and the layout of the restaurant. The food was delicious I ate every single bite! Must mention the couscous made to perfection!
this was my favorite restaurant kitchen job i ever had! my boss and his wife treated me like i was family and also payed me very nicely after seeing how hard i was willing to work for them! the food here is prepared with expertise and alot of love! i never liked lamb until i had it here,my mouth is watering as i write thinking of the flavors.. so if your looking for an authentic moroccan flavor, decor and meal your at the best place in ottawa ! i miss you guys ,much love from my family to yours!
I took my brother here for his birthday and it was a great experience. The environment was very nice and it server was very confident and proud of everything they served. He was great at recommending several dishes and brought out a nice desert platter at the end as well. Overall the food was incredible. So much colour and so much flavour. Really a great night overall and my only regret is not coming here sooner. Thanks for a great evening!
I had a chance to visit Kasbah Village twice for dinner and both times I received excellent service (I believe from the owner himself, although I might be wrong). Had a Groupon the first time and received a lot more food than I expected. Everything was delicious. Highly recommend.
Service was excellent, menu its simple but varied, flavors are on point, overall a nice and cosy place
Took a Groupon there and had a three course meal. Every single meal was amazing and so was the tea to end the evening. They served some amazing biscuits for desert that i bought for later. The salad was hands down my favorite dish, the dressing and the mixture of veges were fantastic! Definitely would recommend for the food quality alone.
Great food and service, but the prices were very high. The quality of the food was great, but I’ve had the same quality at other restaurants for lower prices. The owner was friendly and cognizant about our food allergies.
Amazing food and great service. The owner was very friendly and hospitable. We haven’t had Moroccan food like this anywhere else. We will definitely visit again the next time we’re in Ottawa.
Authentic Moroccan food. The restaurant is clean. A little pricey for what it is . Service can be slow... over all five stars because authentic tasty and despite the slow service the servers are very genuine and eligible and sweet.
Today 05/18/2018. Second day in Ramadan, I end it up in Ottawa, Canada due to my job as a pilot( I am Fom USA ). However I ordered haryrra, Moroccan sweets, Chicken Tajine and Moroccan tea , everything was great and delicious and it’s real Moroccan food. Customer services was great . Decoration was awesome . The music was pure Moroccan, I like the amazigh part of it, not loud, not soft either.*** I highly recommend this place.
Went with a group for my friends birthday, the food was to expensive for a small quantity. Usually in restaurant weve been in the past, if you come in a group the birthday person wouldnt pay for their meal or get 50% off but neither of that was offered. They were only two staff serving different tables, service could be better. The decor was nice the mint tea was delightful. They should improve their prices or quantity of food. I dont see myself coming back as there is other restaurants with better pricing and service.
The food was delicious and flavourful! The mint tea delightful, the decor fantastic and the service second to none. The waiter was attentive without hovering and made us feel special
A cozy place with great food. I particularly enjoy the paella, which is generous and very tasty. My other favourites include the tangerois tagine, the bisteea and the garlic shrimp appetizer. Dessert options include a rich crème caramel, baklava and a fresh orange salad. Service is always friendly, and the music is kept at a comfortable level. Definitely recommend.
I have been here for lunch twice, and I have always left satisfied. The service is great, and the servers are very, very kind. The food is delicious - the closest I have found to the food I ate in Marrakech. The tea is amazing, and the desserts are to die for.
What can I say but wow... what great service...food....and experience....I hihhly recommend Kasbah.
My first time here and i went for lunch. The service was very slow but they were kind. Some dishes were terrific and others not so great. We ordered the pastilla which was very good although in my opinion a bit expensive for the quantity. The salad that accompanies the dish has rosewater which I personally dont like but the vegetables were fresh. My friend ordered vegetarian couscous which was okay but not worth the price. Its possible the slow service was a one time thing but even then I feel there are other great lunch spots near by.
Very good Moroccan food, zafrone chicken indescribable, the lamb rooster amazing as well the environment and people very friendly and nice.
My wife and I really enjoyed our meal. The food is top notch, the atmosphere is welcoming and great service. Would highly recommend the feta cheese phillo appetizer, chicken or fish tagine and the creme brule. Fresh homemade bread was served and the Moroccan tea is a must! Will definitely return here again!
Kasbah Village is the BEST Moroccan food EVER!!! The food is fresh and VERY tasty! The restaurant is VERY clean and tidy. The service is excellent and efficient! I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants tasty, fresh Moroccan food!
Ive never had Moroccan food before and was reluctant ordering but everything we ordered was amazing. Its well worth the price. The food is very good and the service is also superb. Make sure to try the tea. Its smells so nice and has a calming effect.
EXCELLENT!!! We came back to this restaurant, after...10 years!!! The same great experience - exquisite authentic Moroccan cuisine and the owners...what a lovely people!!! Thank you-Thank you!!! The Tangines, the traditional appetizer and salad, paired with the delicate Moroccan red wine...Hmm - what a joy! Please, dont miss this little gem while youre in Ottawa
We had a great time there! Thank you..
Good price for lunch. Food was OK. Interior is a bit dated and dark but service was good.
One of the few authentic Moroccan restaurants in the area. We have been many times and have never been disappointed with the food or service. Maybe dont go when you are in a rush though because they dont do FAST ;-)
It started with a "nose tease" as we were walking up the sidewalk, smelling the wonderful fragrances of cooking tagines from the kitchen exhaust and ended with two full bellies and reminiscing of our trip to Marrakech years ago. This family owned business takes great pride in service, presentation and food quality. The tagines and Couscous are dinners that should be enjoyed by anyone seeking a phenomenal meal.
Delicious. We had a Groupon, everything was very tasty! This was our second time here, both times here we were not disappointed. The soup was very flavourful, as was the salad and was well... everything we ate.
Very bad service and food. The owner was upset that we brought a Groupon. From that time, the service was crap. He didnt want to serve us the tea that comes with the Groupon. Owner works the tables alone and people had to call him few times to get his attention. The meat smelled bad. We will never ever return to this place. Please do not waste your money here. It is not worth paying $40 per person for this quality /quantity of food and service.
My favorite restaurant in Ottawa. Great atmosphere, highly due to Khalids personality and great service. The food is delicious and always great. Try the Moroccan wine, delicious! Cant wait to go back...
The kefta (meat ballswere the best I have ever tasted. That alone would be worth 5 stars however my children loved their chicken kebabs, and my wife exclaimed that the lamb couscous had a full range of flavors. All this with a quiet friendly service and excellent Moroccan tea.
We reserved for an early dinner and arrived first with 2 adults and two children. The server was polite and escorted us to a corner booth that was lined with pillows and wall rugs. Our two boys loved the atmosphere, decor and music. The lighting lacked warmth due to some compact fluorescent bulbs, but other than that our experience was fantastic. We even asked the server if she could burn the sugar on our creme brulee at our table so that the kids could see, and they did. The food was out of the ordinary, spicy and sweet. Our family shared a salad, and the children ate all their rice and chicken skewers. We highly recommend it.
Best dinner out Ive had in ages! Service was prompt and the staff were nice (sometimes a little abrupt, but I was admittedly wired, so it might have been me). The tajine was to die for, and the combination platter with salad was excellent. Definitely going back again.
