Karouzos Steakhouse in Jasper Park Lodge

While on a recent visit to Jasper I had the pleasure of eating at Karouzos on the patio. Our first visit we were served by Shannon, and subsequent visit by Vanessa. The food is great, the service was excellent. Both Shannon and Vanessa were cheery and knowledgeable about the menu offered great suggestions. Our first visit we enjoyed appetizers and shared the Greek Pizza... OMG delicious. The chef makes his own crust and you can tell. The subsequent time our group enjoyed the chicken souvlaki, salmon and fish and chips. Again, delicious. Service was quick! If you have a dog they will bring them a bowl of water and some treats (doggy biscuit, carrots and cooked chicken breast). It looked really good. The dog loved it. Hats off to all the servers in Jasper who seem open up their hearts to the diners. (we came for food and left a little more knowledgeable about the local area as well as their home towns). Hats off to the owner(sof this restaurant for providing a great environment for the staff to work. They obviously love their jobs.

Where to start? As a family, we appreciate dining in-house in the restaurant or on the outdoor patio, but we also appreciate the option of take-away when eating at home suits our schedule better.Weve feasted upon and thoroughly enjoyed our go-to choices which include chicken souvlaki, char-broiled steak, rack of lamb, hand-formed bacon-cheddar-mushroom beef burger, Karouzos special pizza, prime rib and Greek salad.Theres an excellent wine selection and they can make a mean martini. And the desserts... Oh my gosh (if you have room because the entrees are sizeableThe last time we ate there we shared a Skor bar cheesecake, the time before Galaktoboureko was available and it was fantastic. Eat where the locals eat and you wont be disappointed.

I hate complaining but this experience deserves it! Zero stars if I could.We arrived at the restaurant at around 7:30 and were promptly seated. Our waitress came in a timely manner and brought us water and checked on us a couple times before we were ready to order. All was good and the restaurant was starting to fill up. That isnt an unusual sight as it was dinner time. We got our appetizer after a little bit but then our meal took a very long time. After we started noticing others that were seated well after we were we asked the waitress two times where our meal was. We were not offered more water or more drinks. There were also people seated right after us that had been served, finished their meal and had left. We didnt order complicated dishes and once they finally got to our table at 8:50 we were surely frustrated. The meal was nothing special and could have easily been prepared much sooner than it was.We have had awful service before but what really surprised us was when we complained to the hostess as we were paying and leaving. She rudely made a lot of excuses for her waitress and the kitchen. She was so upset and insulting to us! She said that our waitress had a lot more tables than the other staff and that the other waitresses were able to serve their tables faster as in they took priority on the list? Not ever have I heard that! Isnt it first order in, first out in a reasonable manner? Apparently the busiest waitress at this restaurant offers the slowest service to cook a meal? Also making excuses to us about the fire near town and other restaurants being closed down? And telling us that we were the only ones to have complained this evening plus whatever else she said. Well, thats a good thing that everyone else had good service! I can assure they could not have been any busier than any other summer night.The hostess was the absolute rudest person either of us have ever had the pleasure of meeting in the service industry. We have never been treated like we were tonight and we will never return to this restaurant. Its a shame that a business in Jasper who depends on tourism has to give an experience as we just had. All we did was make a complaint as it should have been known and a kind apology, perhaps a small discount goes a long way but that is not what we recieved.Perhaps the fires are stressing people out but that really is not how anyone should ever be treated in the service industry. Shame on you.

I had their ribs and my husband had the Prime Rib. Fantastic is all I have to say! Shannon was our server and was great! Very personable and made us feel welcome from the moment we stepped into the restaurant. Highly recommend this restaurant.

I was deceived by looking at the rating on Google and I went there to have a nice steak but unfortunately the quality was below my expectation and it was expensive for the quality of their foods. Not recommended!

Had an amazing dining experience here this past weekend!My family and I had a wonderful dinner on the patio on a gorgeous Sunday evening.We were greeted by friendly warm smiles and hellos from our server and the owner and the quality of service was outstanding all the way through!The food and beverages were awesome and despite having ordered prime rib here at least a dozen times over the last few years, I have never EVER been disappointed! If you like prime rib like I like prime rib…you’ve got to try it here!The restaurant & patio were quite busy as it was a Sunday night, but the quality of the experience and food was still absolutely stellar!I highly recommend checking out this restaurant and it’s amazing staff anytime your in Jasper. It won’t disappoint!

Great place to eat. The food is a combination of American and Greek grill, nothing fancy, but deliciously prepared. The staff is beyond friendly. Theyre helpful and make you feel at home.Their beer list is not too big, but offers a nice choice.It can get busy here, so Id recommend reserving a table.

Food was okay, service was adequate with room for improvement. Prime rib was good. Steaks were good. My son didn’t like the fries. They didn’t want to swap out vegetables for fries without a charge but whatever. A tad pricey for what we got, we enjoyed other local restaurants more.

This food was amazing. There was unlimited refills for a drink and my kids loved the prime beefsteak and spaghetti. I am only unhappy about the fact that I can not give this place a higher review. The waiter was also very nice, and the baby-back ribs was wonderful. Unfortunately, I am leaving Jasper so I cannot visit again, but to everyone I will hope to recommend this restaurant to. Food was excellent. Had the Prime Rib and it was very tender and flavourful. 2 stars off because the service was very slow, with missed items, and the automatic 18% gratuity left a bitter ending because we didnt feel the service deserved it. Were leaving disappointed as a result, which is unfortunate because the food itself deserved a better rating.Update after response:Changed from 3 stars to 1. Part of your response is accurate. We were seated quickly outside and the accommodation of the dog was very appreciated. An additional side table was placed when it was revealed the original seating was insufficient for the quantity of seats and one member of our party was eating from his lap. Your chef did an excellent job and cut an off the menu size (42% increase in size for 30% increase in the billed amount seemed fair as well).Theres missing context in your Pepsi comment, as that person purchased a second Pepsi specifically to get the refill, and 20-25 minutes had passed after requesting the refill before the server returned and realized she did not bring it. It was then that we asked for the bill in family units totalling 3 bills, not 14 like you said in your response, which was all established before ordering began.It took from when we sat down to when we were served our food an hour and 17 minutes, and we ordered fairly quickly. There were other significant wait times after, which was the basis to our thoughts of slow service times.Lastly, we were cordial, not impolite, not rude. Were not those kind of people. Stating here that the neighbouring table tipped $200 purely because of how "horrible" we were honestly sounds like a fabrication to defend against a 3 star review. For that last comment feeling like a total manipulation, Ive reduced it to 1 star.I felt my original rating and review was fair, and the table agreed.

This restaurant is the absolute best in Jasper. The staff and owners were the most lovely people we met during this trip. The wine is very good too!!

Best chicken souvlaki dinner weve ever had! The chicken and salad are to die for! Beautiful view of the mountains from the patio and reasonable price for the area.

A great spot we stumbled upon in Jasper. We had the kale salad and greek pizza and they were soooo good! And on top of that the staff were so friendly and nice! Super sweet right from the minute we were walking towards the resto. We love Karouzos and would definitely come back :)

Had dinner here with my husband. We ordered a bottle of red wine, calamari, Caesar salad, and rib-eye steak. I asked our server about the wine selection and if she could give me any feedback/recommendations on the wine menu? she couldnt, I find this very hard to believe she has zero knowledge of the items in the menu. I asked her for wifi password and she said that the restaurant didnt have one....Right before we were seated I heard the hostage give the password to other customers. If it wasnt because we were very hungry and time of date, I would of taken my business elsewhere? The food was good, no complaints. Our server was slow and also very seldomly did she checked on us for water refills or other needs.

Our server introduced the daily specials to us and we ordered the Greek platter ($48, for 2). Everything on the plate was excellent - calamari, chicken souvlaki, greek salad, lamb meatballs, pita bread, and tzatziki. We had a pasta which was good too.

Wonderful. The fish had a thick, crispy crust that we loved, and the ribeye had a delicious char, seasoning, and remained tender. Local beer options.

Greek food in Jasper! But I came for the prime rib. Im glad I did. Well worth it! Great beer and wine selection also. Dog friendly sidewalk dining too.

I would recommend wood shims versus paper napkins for table stability.Otherwise, great food, service, and prices

Our server and staff was very friendly however we had dietary restrictions and allergies and seemed pricey for receiving cold food but we’re too hungry to wait. Can’t say I would come back.

the best food in jasper. 10/10 service.rarely do i find a restaurant that can properly cook a steak. this place knows how it’s done. they even made me béarnaise upon request. GO HERE AND GET FOOD

Really friendly waitress, good beer, really good steak with some veggies and fries. They serve ketchup instead of mayonnaise with the fries.

Amazing service. The restaurant was not even open and the staff noticed us outside in the rain and brought us in. The food was amazing service even better. Don’t skip out on the desert!

Wonderful restaurant with a view of the mountains. We had the Lamb and the Alfredo with shrimp. Both were fantastic but what you really need to try is the Mushrooms Neptune! It was so good as an appetizer, we debated having it for desert too!The staff was absolutely fantastic and inviting and they knew their stuff from cook on the meats to the pronunciation of the dishes.My only complaint was that the bathrooms had a few stalls out of order but from what I understand, they had just reopened after being closed for a bit so that might have been something they were working on.Do not miss this one if you are in Jasper or even just passing through!

All was excellent delicious tasty food 😋....BUTI was no too happy in the beginning cause the hostess was not really friendly about the place were we want to seat hopef next time she doesnt have the ugly aptitude with clients

The restaurant has a fairly casual atmosphere with friendly service. The food was quite good.

The food was slow. We ordered a few New York steak meals: one of them was very salty and the other one had a piece of hair in it. The waiter offered to replace it but my niece was very hungry so she picked the hair out. I think the meals are similar to Earls but its more expensive. Maybe due to the location and covid impact? The food was good, the waiter was nice but I was a little disappointed of how they treated us. Somebody in town recommended this place so I didnt look at the rating. It would be nice if they were offered the girls a little incentive so everyone would be happy.

This place is amazing! The dog friendly patio is set up beautifully and our dog loved it. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommended! We will be back.

Had to rate it a three due to the main course steaks 🙈. The entrees started on such a high, Pita and Tzatziki and the Wings with Thai Chilli - delish!We ordered two Ribeyes for mai and were convinced to change one to the 14oz Prime Rib - bad idea. They sold the prime rib as slow cooked (that’s all fineand that it would be seared like a steak. It was not. It felt like a slow cooked pot roast prime rib and was not seared on the outside and so did not meet any steak expectations. It was more like a roast. Such a let down 😔

My husband and I went for our Anniversary and it did not disappoint. Great atmosphere, food & drinks. They made us a special coffee everything was perfect! Really enjoyed all the staff to!!!

We went to this restaurant 5 years ago. It was great then. So we decided to go back. Their food is still amazing.!! My husband loved his prime rib. I had the Salmon, I think it was the best salmon Ive ever had! Even my broccoli was good!As for out drinks, my husband had a Folding Moutain Lager, witch he said was really good. I had a Long Island Ice Tea. Witch was good as well.The staff were super friendly they seat everyone staggered so you are not right next to someone.I highly recommend this place.

Never disappoints! Always exceeds expectations and provides a delicious dinner and the owners and staff are all marvelous as well <3 Pizza, steak, pasta, even just the best onion rings... Always a popular choice for us :)

Very nice outdoor patio, delicious food and good service. We ordered the seafood fettuccine and the jambalaya penne and thought it was really good. Perfectly cooked seafood and amount of sauce. Portions were smaller than you would expect, my husband was still hungry. Service was friendly, quick and the best on the patio was awesome!

I dont like to the the vegetarian that goes to steakhouses but Karouzos keeps me coming back. The restaurant is cozy and comfortable and the service is friendly and fast. The beyond meat vegetarian burger is definitely the best burger Ive had in Jasper so far. Theres also a great selection of wine.

Dropped by to the downtown of Jasper and saw this restaurant. Decent local food with friendly staff. No fancy decoration, free parking. We had 2 overcooked steaks n grilled salmon salad. family package price.

The food was acceptable, however pricey. This would have been a higher rating if the price more accurately matched the quality.
