Wasnt going to come here, felt a bit templed out but really glad we did. Very impressive structures. We went at 3.30 which was actually a great time, less busy and the sun was blocked by the walls so not as hot! If you want to see the avenue of Sphinxes dont see them through here though. It is far from the entrance and the Sphinxes down that end are not in the best condition. See them from the luxor temple side instead. You can get a Careem or in driver (ridesharefrom luxor temple area to Karnak for 20EGP.

Easily of the most interesting temples (or complexin Egypt if not the world. Its fantastic what they built so many years ago. The column area is by far the most beautiful. Its intimidating how tall and large they are. The complex is massive and theres a lot to see. There are multiple temples. Dont miss this place as its one of the most important. Be careful with the guards, they are trying to rip you off with tips and stuff.

Karnak is the second biggest temple in the world after Angkor Wat in Cambodia. I have been both, and I can easily claim that Karnak is much more inpressive than Angkor Wat. The statues are huge, the columns are amazingly big and all have carves on them. I simple loved this place, one of my favorite places on earth.

Ok...speechless place! When you see the the grand entrance with the huge gates, around 32m in height and on your right and left you are guarded by row with sphinxes, that have the head of ram, you hardly can imagine the splendor of this ancient place... if now ia impressive, imagine back in those times. Then, you see the altars of the 3 Gods: Amun Ra - his wife Amunet - his son Khonsu, the two obelisks each with a height of 18m, the lake were the priests and pharaoh took bath and the rest of this big complex full with different inscriptions, the scarab statue - fir good luck. But the most impressive are the huge, enormous pillars right after the altars and celebration room, they are truly out of this world. Oh my God!

Beautiful place. Full of Egyptian history. It’s amazing how much they did 1000s of years ago. The way it’s stood up and remains is credit to the workmanship of those great men who created this.So much to see and it’s full of tourists and guides. Will be visiting again. It’s a magical place to be.

The imposing old palace can be imagined in all its golden splendor thousands of years ago, with its prostrate people and exalted emperors. The civilization is dead and its remains in vain with a sigh of relief.

One of the best and biggest temples in the East bank, huge temple with lots of variety. The only thing which is very hard is the sun during the summer time. The temple needs some shades all over to be able to visit through out the whole year. Also it needs to have electric cars to help the old tourist more than 60 years old to go all around.Thank you for keeping it clean and niceTry your maximum to add more signes all around.

There is something amazing about seeing architecture developed 4000 years ago. There is a lot of history to discover in this wonderful place. Before coming here, make sure you research basic Egyptian history or hire a guide. In the temple, there is a wealth of information written about ancient pharaohs that ruled long before us.Theres a fantastic light and sound show (in English with headphone translations into many languagesif you can make it in the evening.Fun Fact: Bollywood movie: Singh Is Kinngs song: "Jee Karda" was shot here in Karnak Temple.

A wonderful place full of rich history. Definitely do your research on basic Egyptian history or get a guide before coming here, the sheer amount of information written on the walls of the temple speak volumes of the pharaohs that ruled long before our time.

Karnak was our first destination of our Luxor day trip. Just like on the photos, this place is magnificent. Dont miss out on Ramses III temple where, if you get lucky the guards may let you in some closed of Chambers (for extra charge of course). Here you can take some beautiful photos of the lights shining through tiny holes above.Comfortable sport trainers and a scraft to protect yourself from the sun are recommended. Lots of walking involved. We arrived here around 9am, it was already 42 Celsius!!We visited from Tui Blue Makadi Gardens (Hugharda). Our tourist guide, David is so knowledgeable, funny and entertaining. We could not have asked for anyone better.

The Karnak temple is certainly one of the NOT-TO-BE-MISSED places in Luxor, scratch that, in All of Egypt! Behind unassuming and humble walls, there is an incredible piece of history. You will witness some amazing pieces of craftsmanship that makes you wonder how any of this was possible more than 4000 years ago!Dont forget to take in the full glory of Hatshepsuts obelisk which is made out of a single piece of pink granite that weighs 343 tons and almost 30 meters tall! Its the only one remaining out of 4 that she erected during her reign. The only reason it survived was because her successor apparently walled it up in order to erase her from history which ironically ended up preserving the obelisk instead!

An incredible Temple to visit, very big, with a lot of different sections. A lot of areas are under current restoration and many columns and walls were restored. It is too bad so much of it was gone, but also very cool to see it been restored.I would recommend coming in the afternoon when all the cruise boats leave ( they come in the morning). An excellent Temple to visit! Highly recommended! Bring a lot of water, the place is huge, and if you want to see everything, it will take you at least an hour and half.

It was good, full of people and a very hot day, but this we know we will find, however, I think that they can also add some writing information within the compound for people to read what we are looking at. We had a guide and this was not an issue, but during the free time, it will be good to also stroll on your own and calmly read about different places you are visiting.

Truly amazing to be able to walk around such amazing structures build thousands of years ago. It was a bit crowded when we entered but as soon as we dive in the complex the crowd started to diminish and we could take it all in a bit more relaxed. Its a must to visit if you ever travel to this side of Egypt.

The Karnak Temple Complex is a must-see in Egypt. You get to experience the art and stories of many dynasties. There are sphinxes, obelisks, and pillars of various styles. Like most temples, Karnak was constructed from the inside out so as you go further into the temple, the history becomes older and since the complex is a collage of different rulers works, there is plenty of opportunities to juxtapose the differences between the times. This is not a feature you can find at most temples. There are some really interesting hieroglyphs in this area, such as the first-ever recorded peace treaty and an in-depth chart for understanding their number system.

Really cool. Highly recommend. We went with a guide who was able to give us tons of info about the temple, but honestly its not necessary unless you truly want to learn about it. If you just want to take it in and be in awe of how incredible the structure is, you could totally enjoy without a guide.

Karnak is certainly one of the most incredible places I have visited. It is so amazing that these ruins are here after so long. This is somewhere I have wanted to take my daughter for years and we finally got to do it in 2021. I am so glad we managed to do all the sights around Luxor. This really was a once in a lifetime trip. The temple itself is in good condition considering the age and we really enjoyed walking round the ruins learning about its history. Would definitely recommend this to anyone. Also hotels and trips in Luxor are really good value at the moment so its an ideal time to go.

The Karnak Temple it is, in my opinion, the most beautiful place in Egypt. In this temple you can find a part of ancient Egyptian history. The construction of this temple began during the reign of Senusret I in the Middle Kingdom around 2000 b.c. The construction continued in the Ptolemaic Kingdom. The temple is a part of city of Thebes. Major construction work in the Precinct of Amun-Re took place during the Eighteenth Dynasty, when Thebes became the capital of the unified Ancient Egypt. Almost every pharaoh of that dynasty added something to the temple site. Thutmose I erected an enclosure wall connecting the Fourth and Fifth pylons, which comprise the earliest part of the temple still standing in situ.Hatshepsut had monuments constructed and also restored the original Precinct of Mut. She had twin obelisks, at the time the tallest in the world, erected at the entrance to the temple. Construction of the Great Hypostyle Hall also may have begun during the Eighteenth Dynasty (although most new building was undertaken under Seti I and  Ramesses II in the Nineteenth). Menerptah, also of the Nineteenth Dynasty, commemorated his victories over the Sea peoples on the walls of the Cachette Court, the start of the processional route (also known as the Avenue of Sphinxesto the Luxor Temple. The last major change to the Precinct of Amun-Res layout was the addition of the First Pylon and the massive enclosure walls that surround the whole precinct. Enjoy!!!

I only want to point out that you should prepare for the weather. I visited in December. It’s hot in the afternoon but once the sun sets, it got very chilly- so get a coat or jacket ready. Also there are shops in a market right outside the Karnak open air Museum- a shop keeper tried to scam me.

This place requires no less than 2 hours for enjoyable visit. The locals in the pillar hall offer to take your picture for $. In the very back of the complex there is a roofed building and next to it there is enclosed room with very well preserved paintings. The pillar hall is impressive with lots of symbolism and stories from Ramses II era. Toilets are at the exit for 5 pounds a person.
