Global cuisine, live music, comedy and drama in a vibrant space also hosting regular exhibitions.
Karamel N22 hosted a superb jazz evening courtesy of Collage Arts, with Mark Lockheart sax, Chris Batchelor tpt, Will Glaser dms, Tom Herbert bs. These guys are so on top of their game, playing fab numbers by well known composers, a real joy to hear such enthusiasm and energy! Well worth our support, only £10 ... and good wine, beer, food there too. 😋
LJ studios North! Amazing studios, perfect size for portraits, small family and all shoots.. Heck, what more do you need from a studio!
Wow! What a surprise. It was just a random visit, on a week day. It turned out there was a jazz concert. I couldn’t see anyone eating but the kitchen was open. I ordered food and it was far above my expectations. Tasting platter was appreciated by my Indian friend for its authenticity. Sausages in a bap were delicious as well. And this live band. It was a beautiful experience.
Creative and cool venue; we had our work staff away day here, it is a great space. The food is INSANELY good, you would not believe its vegan. Delicious. The team here are lovely and friendly. All the way round, lovely, have to check out one of the jazz nights next!
From walking through the door we were disappointed. Service was slow but they were helpful. Had really been looking forward to trying this place but was a serious let down. If anyone had asked, I would have given feedback face to face, but no one did. The staff seemed sweet (hence the second star - based on the food it would have been onebut completely either overwhelmed or somewhat confused. The food was lukewarm (I suspect due to the confusion there seemed to be around the orders and what was meant to be whereand therefore consistency was unpleasant and also impacted on the taste. I dont know if we went on a evening that they had more than usual going on, but chaotic and underwhelming are a kind description. Im genuinely bewildered by all the positive reviews.
Went on sat night to try some around the world fusion vegan options as per the menu published. However they were serving mostly Indian Gujarati like vada pav, Papdi chaat, platter (dhokla, samosa, patra, kachori, pakoda), masala dosa, etc. it was good atmosphere inside. It was Sat live music night £10 pp. perhaps the menu might have been different due to that. Very friendly staff. Check the menu before you go.
Amazing Indian vegan food and great live music! The staff is super friendly and so is the ambience. We really love this place!
Cool venue. Main space is open and airy. Smaller side room is arty with comfortable sofas. We had lunch and the vegan food was tasty. Wed like to return, maybe to one of their live jazz evenings.
Very nice place, the menu is not very variegated, but the atmosphere is really nice and the service as well. Shame we ended up on a night without live music, otherwise the place looks lovely. Very reasonable prices for food and drinks
Excited to eat here for the first time recently. Lovely venue, atmosphere, staff, but food a complete let down, not of an acceptable standard; what a pity, wont be back.£10 for gigs is also too expensive in my opinion.
Who knew vegan could taste so good. Lovely place staff really friendly and helpful. One guy stood out from the rest is the manager what a great guy. Highly recommended place.
Been going there as much as I can lately, its really a hidden gem, lovely food, great service and a warm casual atmosphere. Had a great bangers and mash, the desserts are quality and I love their weekday lunch deals.Incredible cheeseboard!!!
Friendly staff and nice atmosphere, however the vegan Sunday roast was a little disappointing. We had the mushroom pie and the almond wellington, which were alright, the gravy was also very tasty. But the veg that came with it was quite bland and underseasoned. Moreover, we had to wait over 45 min for the food to arrive.
Really cool atmosphere, excellent Sunday roast. Cant wait to go back!!
Generous portions of genuinely tasty vegan roast. Relaxed atmosphere and friendly service. Didnt appear to be any need to book on a Sunday afternoon. Dont be put off by the rubbish kerb appeal: this backside of Wood Green is about as unhip as London can manage. Live music and art-based events in the evenings.
The food is abundant and satisfying and cheap as well. The staff is lovely and welcoming! I do love their burgers! So happy to have found this place!!!P.S My boyfriend loves it as well even if hes not vegan.
Great staff, very friendly and good food. The Sunday roast we tried made some Omni friends eat Vegan food happily. We will be back to try burgers, ramen and pizza. Great space with lounging areas to have a decent chat.
This is a cool place, with acts and DJs performing (although none during our visit). Great food too - although, far, far too much for one person. The trimmings included "golden beetroot" which was a first for me, and rather delicious too.
Lovely atmosphere and very kind staff. Lots of cultural events happening, which is quite refreshing for the area. The band that played was a bit amateurish but had great charm nonetheless. The main drawback was how expensive the drinks were. 6 pounds for a pint in zone 3 seems a bit excessive. I had the stir fry and it was a bit bland and lacked seasoning: There are much better vegan restaurants. I would return for the gigs and atmosphere though!
Without a doubt the best vegan Sunday roast in town! I had the pleasure to visit yesterday and I will be a regular for sure! Both the but roast and the “chicken” and mushroom pie were so tasty! The portion are huge so go hungry! Not to mention the Cheese platter, it was the best fake blue cheese and Brie I ve ever taste! as a vegan, I really couldn’t ask for more! Looking forward to try their burgers and pizza too! Amazing job guys!!
Wish I’d visited this place earlier! Having lived nearby for over 6 years I only visited for the first time end of 2018. Have tried dishes from menu as well as the Sunday roast and all excellent. The lunch service has an enticing selection of filling and hearty dishes. Always something different on offer each time I’ve visited. Cosy and great community feel. Friendly owners who serve with a smile! Will be back soon!
OMG amazing Sunday roast and berry crumble with custard and icecream. Already looking forward to revisit! Really friendly staff ... great experience all round xx
Super laid-back vegan restaurant and also serving some great beers. I shared a thali and a burger with my wife and had a jolly good time. Staff are really welcoming and polite. Will definitely go again.
A good setting and a nice place for a coffee or drink. However, the food was disappointing. £8+ for an average dish of pasta isn’t justifiable. Wood Green has some fantastic affordable food places that are far superior to this restaurant. Also, there were no lighter dishes available, eg. sandwiches.Highly recommended for a coffee/drink, and the setting is great, but they really need to up their game with the food, it wasn’t good enough given the price.
An amazing place! Live jazz music and the vegan food is incredible! We had the tofu stir fry and the sausages and mash and they were the best choices!! Delicious, great sized portions and good prices!! The guys who worked there were so friendly and chatty and really care about Karamel and believe in how wonderful it is. We will definitely be back on a Sunday for their Sunday roast! Great evening!!!
I am not even vegan but the staff and food is amazing. Kath, Roger and Alice and rest of the team are the most helpful and friendly people I have ever met. No matter what you need they will always work hard to making sure you have a wonderful visit. The Food is fantastic BIG BIG portion at great prices for north London and the drinks on offer are amazing with hand crafted beers from the local area. I would recommend Chili Tofu on toast or handmade pizza or Ramen soup or Famous Vegan BBQ Burger food here are endless with great service.
For Vegans and non Vegans alike this venue is amazing! The food is quite tasty! The staff and owners are very friendly. One just feels welcome. It is unbelievable that there is no meat or dairy to be seen. The atmosphere is friendly and unpretentious.I just love the very talented musicians and artists who go to this venue.I cannot recommend highly enough. Karamel is the place to go in Wood Green.
Lovely place! Very home-like, friendly and helpful owners, spacious and comfortable. And of course the food is amazing, big portions (but very low prices for Londonand homemade, this place is a keeper! I really enjoyed my time here, what can I say, I’ll be going back for sure. Definitely recommend 100%
My first experience in a vegan restaurant bar. Lovely jazzy music played by a musician on the keyboards humming away whilst Im drinking two Earth beers in a pint. And a nice vegan cheese salad sandwich with some crisps on the side specially made by the head chef for me. ( as I didnt fancy a big meal....maybe next time I will 😉)....Good hospitality from staff tooo....😊🤗
Looks more like a school canteen than a restaurant but dont let that put you off. Food is always good. Their Sunday roast is excellent. And the best thing is they dont smoother their food with chili, which is what most vegetarian/vegan places tend to do. Friendly and helpful. Theres performances on as well from the local performing arts school next door. Some good and some not so good. But overall good informal place to eat and drink
UPDATE: Visited again on a Sunday, their Almond Wellington was so good! The music was even better than before.Great music venue, good food and drinks
Nice vegan restaurant. We were there for a vegan meetup and the restaurant was big enough for everyone and there was music. Nice atmosphere. The food wasnt bad, but I couldnt enjoy it because it was too spicy for me, another people did enjoy it, and when the chef found out that was too spicy for me offered me to change the dish, so nice service.
Amazing vegan food, very nuce atmosphere and nice live music..Love it.
Ive made several trips to this hidden gem. A vegan restaurant with no pretenses. Good food, well prepared and in a good amount at an agreeable price. I rarely give 5 stars, this one merits it. Its simple in its deco but big hearted and that is all you need. A rare find and Im not even vegan leave alone a veggie.
Friendly and caring service. I had the BBQ burger and hand cut chips. Best chips in London!! Can’t wait to come again.
Very proud to be able to say My parents own this amazing venue! Not only do they serve beautiful food but also have an incredible selection of craft beers. If you haven’t already come to visit you should defiantly make it a date! The Sunday Roast is mouth-wateringly tasty! Would recommend it to anyone. It goes without saying that the atomosphere of the venue is just amazing! The lovely staff defiantly contribute to the enjoyment of your time spent at Karamel! I can’t fault this place and like I said previously I couldn’t be more proud to be a part of this family business.
Stopped for a pot of tea, polenta cake was good. Very arty, worth a visit. Great to find somewhere vegan in Wood Green :)
Like this place for the vibe. Very friendly place with a community feel and very friendly staff. They host a lot of music, film and campaigning type events which is great. The beer is also well worth a visit and they have a great vegan menu although unfortunately Ive never been able to catch them serving it as they tend to do events at night.
Amazing atmosphere😊 delicious food😋 and such friendly staff! The chef came out of the kitchen to talk with us about where the food is sourced and the recipes of what wed ordered! Will definitely be going back...another Amazing place to add to our favourite Vegan restaurants!🤗
Amazing pizzas, highly recommend them, very nice atmosphere, and super friendly staff, we also enjoyed the burgers.
Amazing Sunday roast!! & Cant believe it was all vegan! I will definitely be coming back :very quick service also and lovely little bar. Looks like they also do theatre, workshops and other things here too!
Its vegan, but the choices and quality of food is so good that the result is just a great meal, no matter what the cuisine. Vegan Sunday lunch with veggie Wellington and all the usual trimmings was excellent, as were the veggie tagine and tofu stir fry. And then craft beer to accompany it, and toys and games to keep all ages happy and occupied.
Nice little Vegan cafe /restaurant tucked away in a quiet corner of Wood Green. The ambience was good. Staff very friendly, courteous, willing and accommodative. Food was good and portions were plentiful. It would be great if they had more choices on the menu and background music seemed to play the same song over and over on a loop for the 2hrs we were there.
Great food and friendly staff. The pizza was excellent. This place is dog and child friendly. Will definitely be back.
Warm and friendly vegan restaurant with the local, independent feel. Had a tasty vegan pizza Palermo accompanied by free Brazilian Jazz music in the background. I arrived before dinner was being served and my prepared order was made before 1900. They go the extra mile. Obrigado!
I really enjoyed the vegan Sunday roast. Portion was quite big and also reasonably priced! I love dogs but I dont agree that dogs should be allowed in the establishment especially if they will be roaming around under your table when your eating you Sunday roast. Having said that its obvious that they cater for a certain type of customer, so if you dont like dogs but are a vegan this place is probably not for you!
Sunday roast gluten free option is outstanding. Amazing atmosphere and even better food.
Great sunday lunch and chilled atmosphere. Will definitely be back!
My birthday was here and even if the ground floor was disappointing as a welcome, the staff on the first floor, very fast changed my mood. There was this gentleman, and this very nice lady, that I forgot their names by now, but they should be followed by everyone.Attentive, caring, giving space when needed, not too intrusive like on the ground floor. The prices are $$$ but I have to admit, a great experience in the end.Oh the food that they bring is quite allot for small stomachs like ours, so we ended up taking almost everything home with us by suggestion of this nice gentleman. The music is also very nice, not too loud,
This is Londons first 100% vegan bar / restaurant and definitely worth a visit. The food has improved a lot since they first opened. Have been there many times. Every Sunday they do a very filling Sunday roast, which I would recommend. The home made sausage and mash is also very good.
