Great independence historical place. A nice place to visit.
Simply awesome
Good place
Rich with ancient information and a cool place to have refreshments
Great showcase of local culture and preservation of historical evidence of the injustices to Kenyans by the colonial government.
This is a small museum mainly dedicated to the the former prison that hosted Jomo Kenyatta for some years after his jail time in Lokitaung prison, plus some history of the host Pokot tribe. The museum is quite small, with no parking in the compound - though parking in surrounding open areas is very safe (its within Government Complex in Kapenguria).Their articles are simple and straightforward, offering good glipse into the two subjects.Theres also a huge snake enclosed somewhere within 😬.....make sure to find it....
This is home to Kenyas independence story... Kenyas luminaries spent seven years incanceration here.Among the Kapenguria Six is Mzee Jomo Kenyatta, the founding President. This historical facility needs a face lift and aggressive marketing strategies to attract more visitors.

The weather was good.. No jam.. It was nice all together
A good historic site.
I dint find the museum well maintained to preserve the history that was claimed to have happened there...for instance the place where the big prison was goats are kept thereNo guide to take you through despite the fact that you have paid the entrance fee...It’s not worth the visit

A quaint and neatly organised museum. Kapenguria is best known for the infamous trial of Bikdad Kaggia, Kungu Karumba, Jomo Kenyatta, Fred Kubai, Paul Ngei and Achieng Oneko (aka Kapenguria Sixin 1952. Details of this important point in Kenyas history are captured in the Kapenguria Museum, located in the old detention centre where the Kapenguria Six where held for months. The museum also has artefacts describing the rich Pokot culture and several items highlighting Kenyas pre-colonial past.
Very rich in history

The most wonderful place in kenya come experience the hospitality
Kenyan politics started here
Great source of history on Kenyas independence struggle
Exciting.
Gives a picture of Pokot culture, The Kapenguria six and information on the struggle for freedom. Many may take this place as a prison but it is not, it was never. Its was more of a police station with cells, The six Kenyans were brought here just for Trials but later taken to a prison in in Turkana county.count
