Kanteen Mont Kiara - Cafe in Puch'on, South Korea
Nice nasi lemak, the service was ok but the waiter throws our receipt without permission
🍓🧇Strawberry Cream Waffles (RM25)These were hands down the best dish we had 🙌🏽 Very comparable to the one at Daily Grind ! Waffles were thiccc and crisp and the cream was just nice ! Strawberries were a bit more on the sourish end :)🍕Hawaiian Chicken Pizza (RM28)🍟Chilli Cheese Fries (around RM10?)The pizza and fries were decent but didn’t wow me ! Could def skip this two items and try their other stuff⭐️ Must Try : Waffles for sure but I’ve also got feedback on TT that their (healthynasi lemak is really good ! Def something i’ll try next time💡 Tip : Parking at Mont Kiara is quite tough maybe try their other branch instead🤵🏽♀️ Service : self-ordering at counter and delivered by robots 😌🍴Overall Experience :Place wasn’t as packed as i expected and the interior is pretty :)🚗 Location : I went to their branch in Mont Kiara but they have another location at Tropicana Avenue too!⏰ Timing : 8am-9pmFollow me on ig or tiktok @reysheats for more reviews
A very nice cafe, cosy and very exclusive. I went on weekends not required reservation. Less people coming on Sunday I guess hahaParking a bit hard as they only have like 10 slot of parking in front of their cafe, better to carpool with your friends hahaThe food was sooo good, reasonable price and the decoration very aesthetic 🤗
Awesome food..great place to hang out with friends and drink and eat. Good choice off food. We enjoyed the atmosphere and good service. Highly recommended !
Right after collecting the keys for her new condo, Najwa wanted to check out her new neighborhood...Her friends had been strongly recommending this restaurant, so because of its close proximity, we straight away came here, in the middle of a heavy downpour, making our arrival even more dramatic...😱😱😱It was not quite lunchtime yet, but Najwa didnt have breakfast earlier, and we were already hungry...I wanted to order from the breakfast menu, but unfortunately the time had passed, and they dont serve breakfast anymore after 11:30am.. Najwa asked for the Duck Breast Carbonara, which turned out to be the winner in everyones book..My wife ordered the Pad Thai, which included so many different spices and condiments that there would be too many mixture of flavors in her taste bud!! I was undecided, but eventually settled for the Pesto Pasta with Salmon, which turned out to be the worst Pesto I had ever tasted, the pesto was bland, the flavor of the salmon was never felt, it tasted like something was seriously missing from the ingredients!!☹☹☹I ended up finishing my wifes Pad Thai and Najwas Carbonara, and told myself that I should have ordered the carbonara instead...Eventhough the creamy paste could be a bit overpowering, the taste was so well balanced by the duck meat, and it came out just perfect for me!!😋😋😋As more customers started to come in for lunch, we decided to head back home...
Used to love coming here for pleasant environment both inside and out. Food used to be great but dropped the ball too many times lately. Food quality is not consistent and trending down. Even the cilantro on the Thai tofu rice is sometimes there sometimes no but too much of it was on my wife’s Pad Thai. Understood there is labor shortage but if back-of-the-house is not in order then even new bar stools and tables are not going to help. Hope the owner promptly save this gem in MK.
Went for quick late lunch, ordered standard kuay teow . Delicious ,with sea food ingredients.. slightly pricey though. Havent visited for over 2 years due to covid. Sat on high chair OUTSIDE,breezy clean and comfortable ( less risk of covid infection.Beautiful and excellent ambience, surrounded by numerous plants of various sizes and shapes, arranged artistically .. a semi enclosed designer garden..fantastic feel, most relaxing amidst bustling mont kiara outside. Recommended ..ps..18.8.22...food is good but service from staff is at best considered nonchalant and disinterested and at worst hostile and threatening....hmm
Food and environment is good. Came here almost every weekend. But today Friday morning drop by for brunch what a disappointed. Glasses for water is not ready and ask counter said wait but more than 30 minutes also not ready. 🤔😑
Must try their signature Nasi Lemak Ayam Rempah ~ 15 mins waiting time is worth for it ~ Crispy juicy and is the best Nasi Lemak that I ever taste ~ don’t forget their coffee too ~ U deserve a 5 star review .
Food, drinks and ambience are good. However, they started sweeping the floor around 6.15 pm while there are still customers dining in! Are they wanting to chase the customers away before 7pm?
I wasnt expecting a robot waiter 🥹 OMG it is adorable.Nice attempt to label vegan and vegetarian options on the menu. Would be great if the staff knew what it means. Ive ordered one of two vegan options and it came with an egg 🤦🏼♀️ Not a big deal, I removed the egg but ate my food anxiously. It kinda killed the trust.Educate your people! No complaints about the robot. The robot is awesome.
Good place for a quick but got to be early because parking is limited.
Here for breakfast, and ordered a Pandan Latte, Banana Pandan Pancake, Indomie Ayam Rempah, Nasi Lemak Ayam Rempah, Kuih, Kids Meal Fried Rice. All this for rm100++. Free stubborn flies that we have to kill with bare hands
The food was quite good but overpriced. Perhaps they can get rid of the robot and get more waiters. I had a Thai Chicken Mince and Rice. The taste was good and the chilli and spice was just right. The one staff serving was helpful. The dessert was a surprise. The Kenny Hills Bakery, Chocolate Truffle was excellent and it was enjoyed by all at the table.
This place has really gone down hill. At our last visit, another customer was smoking at the restaurants outdoor seating area (violation of Malaysias anti-smoking law). For the second time in a row (three weeks apartthey said they were out of stock on pancakes. Apparently this restaurant doesnt keep on hand flour and sugar - though they provide bakery treats 🤔. The restaurant hours have also been adapted so that the dinner time service isnt really available for the average person (they kitchen closes at 6:45pm). Lastly, the attitude of the staff - not excited to see customers.
Very very nice place with easy free parking.. To owner: can you open at 7.30. This is to capture the morning school market. Otherwise who will wait for 30 minutes before you start taking order.. i guarantee your sales will increase for this 30 min time difference
Had gathering here. It is pet friendly shop thus it could be quite noisy if you sit outdoor as the dogs are barking at one another. The food is decent. I like their waffle cause it is a generous portion of it plus ice cream!
Nice spot for lunch - parking can be difficult but there’s a paid parking lot across the street. Lots of seating and nice vibes. Really liked the mushroom fries and the pad Thai
Food was decent but not that amazing. My 2nd time lunch here with friends. The staff were not friendly and waited our food for long time. But dont mind to come again.
Very cool and comfortable place to have a choice of Keto food .
WorstFried Rice - Chicken is not worth this price RM 18.87Watermelon lychee - Price is RM 14.15 just got two lychees and more miniature watermelon tasted.
Ambience is ideal for a chill Saturday hang out with spacious area, plenty of tables and even outside dining area surrounded by plants. Food wise - satisfying nasi lemak with succulent ayam berempah, brothy curry mee, a little disappointed with the malaysian breakfast as the portion was small for the price. Staff were friendly (cashier wasnt too cheerful - maybe she was having a rough day, bless her). Good place to bring the fam bam. Oh, toasts and pancakes were magnificent desserts.
I ordered a long black, pad thai (vegetarianand ice kacang for lunch. The food and drinks were decent. The restaurant also hired a live band singing, which made the whole ambience very cozy and comfortable. Reasonably priced for the quality of food, location (Mont Kiara areaand interior. One possible down side is the limited parking space in front of the restaurant, but there are few malls and office tower nearby so shouldnt be a problem. It is indeed a hidden gem in Mont Kiara. Will definitely revisit and keep up the good work.
Beautiful space. Too bad didnt get to order dinner as they were closing at 8am for the time being due to being short staffed. They have robots serving you your orders
A typical brunch place at Mont Kiara area.RM 5 Honey Lemon TeaRM 23 Cheese OmeletteThe price is sort of expected. But the waiter might have a bad day that morning, service not up to standard.
Food was amazing!! Their pasta was super good same goes with their pizza. Coffee was so much better than most cafes. Cool interior and plenty of seating. Downside is just the limited parking spot
Located at the ground floor entrance of MK Banyan, you cant miss this place . There are sufficient parking lots available just in front of the shop. Love the variety of plants placed at the front of the shop but service especially if you are seated outdoor is rather slow . The tables and plates dont get cleared fast enough . Food is tasty . The waffles was nice and fluffy but the ice cream used is just okay . Price is fair for the ambiance and quietness i.e the place is not too crowded on the weekday we came .
Came here for Sunday brunch. Ordered pandan pancakes and eggs Benedict for myself and my partner. The pancakes came, and after 10 minutes the eggs Benedict still did not arrive for my partner. I had to go back to the counter to ask about the eggs benedict. It took 15 minutes AFTER the pancakes for my partner’s dish to arrive at the table. When friends or couples come to your restaurant for a meal, it’s standard for all the dishes to come together or at least within 5 minutes so that everyone can eat TOGETHER. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to for any customer to expect this. My girlfriend sat and watched me eat my pancakes for 15 minutes, since she didn’t want my food to become cold. You can simply cook the eggs benedict first and since pancakes are very simple, prepare it second so that the dishes can be served together! Please work on your kitchen logistics and service. In terms of taste, iced latte is very watery (even though it’s a double shot; there’s too much ice), pandan pancakes are plain (no pandan aroma despite being green), and eggs benedict are below average (chicken bacon is not bacon, it’s more like soggy chicken deli meat, and taste is bland)I would recommend Red Bean Bag at publika or Rubberduck for great brunch and service.
The vegan macaroni & no cheese was something new to me. I was just trying that out. But I still prefer the normal macaroni and cheese, anytime.
Really great ambience for brunch outside. However, the Pandan pancakes were rather dry, not particularly flavorful and the plating was a bit disappointing. The rest of the food we had seemed fresh and was tasty. Loved that they did not sweeten the smoothie bowl.
Even though is self service Canteen the foods are amazed me from plate garnish, size and taste. Good place to go chilling with a bottle of wine as well at open air seating.
nice place to hangout with friends to yumcha. foods were okay with acceptable portion. price is on slightly higher point. service crews were really helpful.
The food was better than I thought, and the drinks were decently priced. Nice and bright on the inside with fun and quirky interior. It is the local hangout for those who live in the area, especially pet owners.
A good and cozy place to chill and hangout with friends. however the parking is very limited and very difficult to find parking here. Food wise it is nice and tasty.
Had korean quinoa bowl with chicken, teh tarik, strawberry ice cream waffle and an iced latte.Taste-wise nothing special about the food or drinks. The atmosphere is nice and the seating is comfortable. The interior is just very nice.Service isnt bad but not excellent. No one will tend to you unless you go up to the cashier and ask for the menu. The waffle took 40mins to be served even though the place wasnt busy at the time.
Parking can be quite difficult to find as they have a very limited number of parking spots in that Banyan building. We were very lucky to get a spot right in front of the cafe although we did come at a non-peak hour (around 4:30pm).It was very spacious and not crowded at all. It is pretty noisy and I think the design of the restaurant makes everyone’s conversations sound very loud.We were a little bit disappointed with the service today. The waiters were not attentive at all. They hung out at the cashier in front and didn’t bother looking around to check on their customers. We had to call them out loud a couple of times to get their attention. At one point, my boyfriend gave up and brought our plate directly to the counter so they could pack it home.Food was alright! Portion is great but I think there’s nothing special about our chicken chop and burger - they tasted very mediocre. We really liked the strawberry cream waffle!Overall, 3.5 stars (but Google won’t let me give half pointers). I would come back again to try their vegetarian & superfood dishes!
The short take: very bland and expensive. The longer take: Soggy fries, the chicken chop tasted like its been under a heat lamp for hours and refried before it was served. Very salty korean burger and again, soggy sweet potatoes fries. The whole meal feels fast foodish chain shop vibe.
A popular modern eatery located very close to the residential areas of Mt Kiara. It has a decent variety of local and organic-oriented vegetarian food; however it comes with a hefty price tag and very uncomfortable chairs.
I ate soft shell croissant, looks and taste so nice! Im so surprised that staff are well trained, very comfortable. Today they cant serve strawberry waffle, little bit disappointed..
Grilled salmon here is one of the best in town. If you are a pancake lover, that’s a must try. They coffee they brew is excellent and a reason to visit again. The ambience is different and full of lights.
The pricing is reasonable, quality of food is good & very good environment but parking here can be a nightmare.
Came here for my maiden visit after reading much positive reviews. Ordered the curry mee hoon, current promo of spicy steam fish and strawberry cream waffle under the recommendation of their staff. I must say their food is quite tasty, accurate to their recommendation. Price wise is slightly high in my opinion but hey, it’s Mont Kiara area. Service is good as the staff serve with a smile. Ambient is great and the restaurant has quite a few instagrammable spots.Food: 4 out of 5 ⭐️Service: 4 out of 5 ⭐️Price: 💲💲💲💲 out of 5(1 being cheap and 5 being pricey)Ambient: 4 out of 5 ⭐️Will-I-Return: Yes
The name says it all. It has an upscale canteen like flair, whereby you have to order and pay first. Service was friendly and prompt. The interior part quite noisy though as it’s family friendly and a lot of echo. Parking can be an issue.Food was good. Coffee as well. Can’t complain really.
I made last minute reservation for 10 pax and 1 child for dinner to celebrate my moms birthday. Thank goodness they accepted my reservation and even prepared a baby chair for my son. Variety of food selection (including for kids). Fulfilling and delicious. Reasonable price. Good ambiance.
The restaurant is lovely, the ambient is nice and cozy... the coffee good, the food great, i ate the chicken chop which is so good, crispy skin with nice brown sauce.and the best part, the garlic mayo, out of this world, I LOVE IT. THE BEST. definitely will come again when Im nearby.
Nice ambience with modern & appealing interior design. Fried chicken is spicy & tasty. Liked the seafood marinara spaghetti - tasty & fresh ingredients. Fried kuey tiao is a bit disappointing due to the tiny kuey tiao & taste was just so-so. Coffee is small serving only. Need to improve.
Good neighborhood cafe to hang out.Providing not only western food but also local deli. There are also breads and local kuih-muih available.Ordered fried chicken chop during my visit but the chicken was not well cooked.Staff quickly changed it though.
Excellent spot for quick meal be it for breakfast or dinner.I love the environment and ambience here. The menu was pretty wide with choices and fused you with desire to order more than what you could eat 😎 besides the cashier is patient and friendly 😊Ordered Salmon with pumpkin sauce. The salmon is aptly cooked and tasty. My AntonEgo senses say that it marvelous and worth a repeat.Except for bloody parking space cleverly uninvented by the greedy developers of Mont Kiara, this would be an excellent spot to hang out.
Ambience is nice.Presentation of food and hygiene is great 👍🏼We’ve ordered chicken chop, fried salted egg calamari, cheese sandwich, tuna sandwich and mushroom sandwich.Food is average taste. Chicken chop have to be improved. Sauce for chicken chop is very small in portion. Taste wise needs more kick of the brown sauce. Chicken towards salty side but crispy. Fries not crispy and not hot.Sandwiches is looking great but needs more filling to balance with the amount of bread.Calamari is crispy, well coated but taste of salted egg is not making an appearance on my tongue. (Maybe it’s still behind the curtain dressing up)Portion wise generally is good.Parking is not easily available. Like only 10 cars parking space in-front of it, and sharing with Porto Romano’s restaurant. All is good except the food needs to be improved.
Seafood Aglio Olio was aglow with fresh mussels, prawns and squid. Fish and chips were battered by a tad too much batter and The Burnt cheese cake will send you to heaven. Delectably delightful.
