This is the beautiful place. Tells you about kamloops history, culture. About animals. They have special kid zone where kids can enjoy. I love the animal section which is eye capturing.
MoreA great local museum which provides a good overview of the regions people and land.
MoreGreat small museum!
Good to know about local history.
Not much to see. Cute little museum. 3$ to get in. Very friendly receptionist.
The Kamloops Museum and Archives is Kamloops premier museum. The friendliest front desk staff you ever did see and theres lots to see and do for children, adults, and seniors.Lean about Fur Traders in Kamloops or how Japanese Canadians made their lives in the city. Discover hidden history and culture in the Victorian exhibit.Like rocks? Theyve got those too, a beautiful collection from all over the Okanagan.Curious about Kamloops history? Drop by the archives for a bit of research and learn about the people from all over the world who helped make the city it is today.
MoreGreat local museum. Staff are friendly and helpful, and cost is by donation. Lots of interesting exhibits, building has also been updated with 3 floors of exhibits including a childrens learning area.
MoreGreat place to visit for an hour or two. Has a great area for kids to play but unfortunately due to COVID lots of the kids stuff was unavailable or not put out. Still fun to walk around and look at the displays though.
MoreWonderful place to spend some cool summer time. Learn about Kamloops history. Elevator between floors if needed. Play area for kids as well. Great spot for people of all ages.
MoreCute museum! We have been in a good amount of Museum in Canada and this is a cute/small one. It’s very clean and informative. Very budget friendly as they ask for a minimum donation of cad 3.00The only reason I’mNot giving them 5 stars is because a few activities for kids were closed due to covid but they could have something for little kids covid friendly.
MoreSuch a wonderful place to bring family and friends!
Great local museum about Kamloops and European settlement. Entry fee is a small donation so you can just pay what you can afford. Great interactive play area for small children.
MoreLove the setting and they are friendly and helpful.
They have thoughtful displays that reflect the area history. I found their taxidermy exhibit both strange and fascinating.
MoreAwesome, they have a kids Frontier Museum downstairs. I booked it for a birthday party and the kids absolutely loved it.
MoreHad birthday here. Kids loved it and were kept busy.
It was small but told the history of Kamloops very well and the staff where friendly
MoreGreat for class field trips
Great place to check out!
Family friendly and great facility for a kids birthday party
Really neat inside! Lots to see, and great for kids! I dont know why I had not been to this place sooner.
MoreSmall area wise, but rich in history content. I would like to say a big thank you to a wonderful and friendly lady at the front end for a warm welcome to my familys visit, and also to a lovely lady upstairs for a very informative small chat that turned out a significant amount of knowledge I gained about my visit in Kamloops city.
MoreMust come Place in Kamloops!! You can learn many meaningfull history from this place...
MoreThey took away the trains and dr office
Couldnt get our son out of there
Kamloops hidden gem! My son begged me for weeks to take him to the museum, I’d never been but he’d visited a handful of times with his day camp. We started on the top floor and worked our way down, learning along the way. The bottom floor is the pinnacle of the museum for families, there are a number of fun interactive displays props. We had the entire place to ourselves on a Friday in the summer, which was lovely but almost a shame! Admission by donation, an enriching family experience!
MoreGreat museum for all ages!!
Enjoyed the Museum throughly. Lots to see and activities for youngsters too.
Suggest $3 donation for adult, $1 for kids. A fun place for kids.
Great experience for kids
This is a fantastic little museum, if you are a local and havnt visited you should, especially if you have small children, excellent play and learning area for them. For adults an excellent permanent display and the museum staff do a great job on the rotating exhibits.
MoreNice place to spend time with my little one.
Fun and educational for all ages
Love the museum. Keely is an excellent guide for children.
Not a lot of exhibites and not that much history. Great area for young kids.
Clean friendly. Beautiful exhibits.
I was really surprised at how nice this museum was. Absolutely a worthy stop when traveling to or through Kamloops.
MoreWhat a pleasant surprise to visit this museum & children’s museum. My kid loved it.
MoreHistory is a thing of the past but great to learn from, lol
If you are local or passing through it is a neat place and it certainly introduces one to the history of the region. If you are local and it is a rainy day its a great place to spend an hour or so with your kids. The bottom floor can keep my 3 year old occupied for more than an hour.
MoreI went to the childrens part of the museum with my children and it was amazing! I great place to take your kids when they are "bored"
MoreGreat place to bring kids and check it some local history.
Great museum, my kids love visiting.
A great lesson in local history
Nice displays for a small area. The Victorian style, Hamilton made grand piano was outstanding! Too bad there wasnt a recording to listen to how it sounded. Many small exhibits within may not appeal to everyones idea of a heritage museum. However, there is much written information which makes up for the seemingly short time it takes to view everything.Overall, quite quaint and worth the $3.00 donation to visit.
MoreGreat place to visit. Interesting exhibits tor the adults and a great interactive play area for the children.
MoreFriendly and helpful staff
Great little Museum I wish the city would expand.
