甘牌燒味 台灣 Kam's Roast Taiwan - Cantonese restaurant in Taipei, Taiwan
甘牌燒味 台灣 Kam's Roast Taiwan in Taipei
Description
Privilege
the roast pork and duck are excellent. this is a Michelin starred restaurant for many consecutive years. definitely recommended.
MoreLove their roast duck! Pity they don’t have the roasted goose, which is what they are famous for in HK. The wanton noodle is pretty authentic.
MoreThe 130 ntd set for takeaway is a great choice to enjoy Michelin food 👍 I think the rice they cooked is quite special unlike the local food in Taiwan.
MoreFood is average but quick!
Casual place for a quick bite with friends
Ate there. The roast duck and roast pork was terrible. I was hoping quality of food will be close to HK restaurant’s, which I go on a regular basis when I am in HK.Do not recommend this place at all. If you do go, order a very small order as not to waste your money. My friend and I ordered a half duck and didn’t even eat 1/5 of it. And it was not worth the calories, nor even worth being left over home for the helpers.
MoreThe duck, the roast suckling pig. Its delicious. I can see why I got a Michelin star. The pork was melt in your mouth with a super crunch from the skin, in the sauce with rice was perfect. The duck was moist, rich and perfectly seasoned. I recommend to anyone. So worth it at the 101 plaza!
MoreYes HK style ~ but food Quality control problem at TW~ Don’t try here!
Visited Kams headquarter countless times whenever in HK, so had reasonably high expectation for this branch in Taipei! Unfortunately, this one is no way near to their original restaurant, not even as good as any good roasted duck stores scattered all over Taipei.Maybe because today we visited the restaurant a bit late, 7:15pm.......The only descent dish was BBQ pork with crispy skin and juicy meat, other than that, chicken was just subpar and their famous roasted duck was shockingly disappointing ! Stone cold, dry and chewy, both skin and meat, couldnt taste any nice familiar aroma of duck fat.......
MoreThe roast duck and BBQ charsiew were delicious however the roast pork belly were kinda cold when served. Overall a good but quite pricey meal.
MoreRoast duck is great. Meat is soft and flavourful with a slightly crispy skin. The roast pork is a major disappointment. They seem to have fried the pork thus making it oily rather then fresh out of the oven. Skin in some sections is crispy but hard. The HK wan ton noodles also a let down being soggy and oily.I would come back for the duck. Its good.
MoreI dont know how it gets good rate. poor service, and their food is just OK...
As others mentioned, extremely disappointing BBQ meats. Duck was the most disappointing. First if all, Meats were all cold. The only reason for the 2 star is their Chinese soup and soup noodle was actually good.
MoreService is good but the food is not like the parent restaurant in hk. The food at the patent restaurant in hk deserve their Michelin Star, there isn’t anything special with the food here.
MoreWe’ve eaten at this location and in Hong Kong and I guess I don’t understand what the hype is about. The roasted duck and spare ribs are served basically cold which I’m not a fan of. The wonton soup is good and I like the side of cucumbers. Our service was good but the food is just alright.
MoreVery disappointed!! It’s definitely not worth Michelin star and the price. If you know and have tried the Hong Kong style BBQ duck/goose & pork, I’d not recommend this place to you. The meat is way too cold and way too dry. The soup is very oily. They didn’t provide any water or tea at all while they charged 10% service fees. It’s not authentic and tasty at all!! Totally NOT recommended!!!
MoreLight speed service and very fresh. Great food even if the goose was not on the menu at this branch. Try the duck, crispy pork belly, and char siu pork.
MoreRoasts were not bad.. just not enough marinate
Food is acceptable, but the service is not. The waitress just bumped into us and totally disrupted us while I am eating. Some tables have been served proactively the water and the dessert, and some are not. Its so weird to pay high price as a lunch but receive this kind of experience.
MoreLunch set cheap, duck chest taste good but come with prices
Disappointing. Tables so cramped together we had the waitresses bum on our table while trying to eat as she served others or cleaned up. The food was very average considering its a branch of a Michelin restaurant. Annoying nursery music playing the same 20 second tune on loop the whole time. Duck had a sesame sauce on which we werent expecting. Would have been nicer without that sauce.Owner replies with a blanket "thank you. we have recorded the problem" comment showing a lack of customer care. do they really take note? doesnt look like it
MoreShall we trust the image on the front of the store or the Guide? I dont think we shall buy this. Hope the owner can consider their strategy to their customers for people is not paying for their miserable seats but for their food. We wonder the food paid is worth the price?
MoreOrdered a roast duck leg and crispy pork for dine in and like many others have experienced it was really disappointing. The food was warm to cold and not really that great. Certainly not worth the amount we paid for dinner. Save yourself the money and eat in the food court for a quarter of the price.
MoreNothing at all like the one in HK. Dont even serve goose. Lukewarm and cold food. Roast duck skin isnt crispy. Service is lacking. Pretty expensive. Save yourself some money, skip.
MoreThe bbq pork cha siu was a bit tough. The balance of fat to meat ratio was definitely meaty and those that had the fat was too chewable, basically I was unable to eat them. Furthermore, there is water (just plain wateron their counter and some were served at some tables but not ours. Initially I thought may be you have to pay for it so they didnt give to us. So I asked the waiter/waitress is the water self serve or do I have to pay for it. Nope, they can get you water, only if you ask them. All in all it was just an awful experience. Its just a shame that it bears the 1 star Michelin. It just tells you that not all stores taste the same . Not surprisingly when I checked other rating sites such as trip advisor, yelp, etc. This place has very low ratings too. I sincerely hope, it gets better and improves it.
MoreFirst, the menu here is confusing because they have a cheaper menu for takeaway / food court.I got the roast duck chest. It was really bad. Tough and flavorless. I’ve been to the original Kam’s roast goose in Hong Kong.
MoreThe service need to be improved. I have no complaint about the food.
Roast goose not in the menu. Half of the BBQ pork was burnt on the outside. The staff mixed up our orders and our duck breast came late. It was served cold. The Hong Kong outlet is 5-star, this outlet only worth 1-star. Don’t bother!
MoreVisited today before noon. Roast duck was dry and tough, chewing the skin was like eating paper. Roast pork and char Siew were so so and rather unenjoyable. Ordered with a bowl of plain rice which was under cooked and inedible. We couldn’t finish even half the meal. Very disappointing for such a famous joint.
MoreThe food is so delicious, and comes in a very cheap price!
Had the Crispy Roast Pork (pictured), man it did not disappoint. If you dont think youre someone who can appreciate the texture of a food, then try this. Trust me. It has like 5 layers, a crunchy, gritty fried fat outer layer, then a big juicy layer of pork, then a soft inner fatty layer, then a chewy (cured?layer of pork and then one more even crispier layer of fat. Its simply a treat. Give it a try. Treat yoself.
MoreThe famous Michelin Star roast meat!Crispy and tender roast pork and roast duck!Highly recommended!Nice atmosphere.Came on Monday afternoon around 2pm, wasn’t too crowded. Managed to get a seat in less than 5 minutes.Reasonable price considering it is Michelin Star!
MoreNT$250 for a tiny lunch box is a waste of money. Plus, the food taste is far below average. It doesn’t deserve a Michelin Star, definitely. I think they are running a kind of scamming business. 👎🏿
MoreBest charshu ever. Pig crackling is amazing too. Only down side is its quite pricy.
MoreHighly recommended! Even veg tasted awesome!
Not worth the premium. Ordered BBQ pork to take out. It came with a lot of rice and very little pork. The pork was just ok. Nothing to write home about. There are plenty of other Cantonese BBQ places around town. Dont let the Michelin rating fool you. The rating only means paying a premium for the food.
MoreMy Japanese friend who is in Taiwan for the first time wanted to try some local roast dishes so I brought him to Kam’s Goose 101. The service attendant at the door greeted us warmly & led us to our table in just a few minutes. We were immediately introduced to some of their popular dishes, such as the roast duck (sesame sauce& roast pork honey-roasted, by a very outgoing & knowledgeable staff. We ordered a portion each, together with a wanton soup. Absolutely Superb! I have been to Taipei many times, traveled to Hong Kong & China & tried many roasted duck & chicken. This is definitely in the TOP 3. The service is of a very high standard. The staff came to check on us from time to time but never intrusive. As I speak Mandarin, an order turned into a friendly conversation. I will return again & will recommend to all who would like to try GREAT roast duck & pork at a reasonable price. 賛👍
MoreHad the BBQ Pork and Pork belly with wonton noodle.. it was good, but doesn’t stand out from your average HK roast restaurants down the street.. way over priced for what it is and really cannot understand how it became Michelin-starred restaurants. The service was terrible, totally unacceptable for the location and cost.. will not recommend to anyone to try! Any typical HK roast restaurant could provide the same quality meal if not better!
MoreWith local standards, this is definitely the most expensive Chinese Roasts in the universe for what they give you, and the food is surprisingly just average. Service is slow and half-hearted. Probably, Michelin is wrong this time.
MoreHad it in HK and really liked the goose meat. Unfortunately, no goose meat here yet, so ordered the duck instead. The duck meat was tender, good flavor, a bit greasy as expected. However, quite expensive at $630. The wonton noodles soup $170 was a mix, good noodles, soup base ok, but wontons were overcooked, fell apart, disappointing. Cucumbers and daily soup was good. Overall, not as good as HK.
MoreDuck was luke warm, rice was soggy and vegetables cold. The only redeeming factor was the dipping sauce!
MoreNo goose but roast pork was insanely good!
Totally overrated. Not just the food but service also got room to improve
Had great roast goose in HK Kams, so we thought we could get the same here. How disappointing. There were no roast goose here, instead they have roast ducks. Meat was tough, service sub standard and pricey for the quality they served. Char siew ( sweet roast porkwasnt that disappointing though. If you have tried Kams in HK, then you can give this a miss.
MoreNot special for foods. Price need to go down . Cant believe that from HK.
Ridiculous Price. Rude staff. Michelin star thats for the HK restaurant, not Taipei 101 right? Are u kidding me? This is HK street food sold at dining price in B1? Rice needs to be ordered separately for extra money how cheap can you be?? Avoid this is not michelin star。Taste is average, again problem is overpriced gouging tourists. I call BS.
MoreI dont know why so many people gave the low rating to this place, but I think it is really a nice place to visit. Whenever I visit HK, I always find time to visit their HK main place as the taste is really good, Even better than Yun Kee. The Kam in Taipei doesnt have goose buy other dishes are still within the standard. I wllw sure revisit Kam in Taipei too
MoreCuisines tasted and flavor not like Hong Kong
Great roast pork on rice. I was rollin solo today so came to Taipei 101. Didn’t know where to eat, but found the food court and thought I’d try Kam’s Roast. I’m a roasted pork lover! And the crispy roast pork on rice I got here was great. Very juicy, flavourful and fresh. Decent quantity for the price and quality. I could have eaten another plate of it though. I just bought it and carried the plate over to the food court seating with lots of seats still available since I got there early before the lunch rush. The girl giving information in front of the restaurant was friendly and helpful too.I only ate the crispy roast pork on rice, and didn’t eat inside the restaurant....but the meal I got was very good quality and the service very good as well.
More1. 貴 2.東西普普。3。裡面很噪 4, 服務不好, 可比香港 ! it’s totally not worth it for even trying out here , food is so so but crazy pricy , I am pretty sure that street vendor in Taipei are way better then this only cost 1/3 of the price.
