Kalon Barak Skyline Ridge in Cotabato

I welcomed my birthday on this piece of heaven on earth. God, id visit this again in a heartbeat! I am in so much awe!!!!! Im from Antipolo Rizal and visited Sarangani just to see this place 😍😍😍

The place was an awesome one to unwind and reflect. It is also not that pricey when it comes to transportation.

Great place to view the landscape. Great food. Has a mini zoo. Only downside is that its a bit infested with golden orb weaver spiders so its not for the faint of heart

Toilet is clean, parking is generous. Great for camping. Although the way up would be best for 4x4 or 4x2s with great ground clearance. There are a lot of unsealed patches and muddy parts

I love Kalonbarak Skyline Ridge! I was lucky to have witnessed the birth of Malungons Summer festival at Kalonbarak and I was left in awe at the beauty of the place. Its the perfect spot to just sit back and enjoy the Lords masterpiece in velvety hills of green below a wave of majestic blue above. I have yet to catch the sea of clouds. They say its gonna leave your jaws droppin! 😁

Malungons best destination, enjoy sights panoramic view of Sarangani and Mt Matutum. Serene, pure fresh cold air, its an adventure with worry our convoy got stuck along the waybut thrill and excitement after the ordeal (4x4 recommended). Update worry no more now passable on any vehicle type.

The view is beautiful and breath taking. Feel the breeze of fresh air. :)

It is a peaceful place.

I rated 1 because of the thousand giant spiders living in that area. And yes, im arachnophobic. The place badly needs pest control. I think i will be having nightmare tonight. And if you are unfortunate, they may get caught in your hair because some of them are literally dangling along the way. Yikes!Be aware also that sedan car cant get in because of the bad road condition. Pickup cars are fine.

Nice viewing deck especially during sunrise where you will witness the sea of clouds. Almost 2 hours drive from General Santos city.

The place is perfect for camping overnight. Experience a foggy and cold weather at night. Very high priced rooms and cottages so its better to bring your own tent. Their foods in the canteen are also OVERPRICED so better bring food and drinks and pay for a CORKAGE FEE of 200 Php. Free coffee inclusive with the 100 Php entrance fee. Overlooking view of Mt Matutum and sea of clouds as well as sunrise. The road going up there is a bit dangerous especially when it is raining. About 10 minutes ride from the highway up to Kalon Barak. Everything was perfect except for their staffs 🙄 Not accommodating and does not treat their customers right whenever we ask from them.

The place is perfect. Its like heaven on earth. The road is challenging though. 90% of the 8 km road is narrow, rocky with steep turns and the cliff beside you. Food for sale is really affordable and staff are friendly.

Very lovely place. Had a good sleep in my tent. 100php entrance fee and 200php for the tent space. Food is above 100php. A meal is over 200php. Free local coffee.

7 km ride from Highway to Kalonbarak. The place is beautiful, peaceful and quiet. Good for reflection and picture taking (if few people are around). If your hungry theres a place to eat and if you want to have an overnight, you can have your tent up or rent a room.

Has great view, road is somewhat ok(there are muddy roads, but cemented road development is ongoing, about 1-1.5hrs drive from gensan(private car), Probably best to go on sunrise/sunset times. We went around 12pm and luckily it was a cloudy day, we were able to take good pictures

I will just give 4 stars for Kalonbarak Skyline Ridge because of the road going up there. It is not fully concrete from the national highway. But when you reach the ridge, the panoramic view of the mountains of Sarangani is majestic most especially the semi coned shape Mt. Matutum and if you want to witness the sea of clouds you need to go there early in the morning or rest overnight for you to see. Enjoy.

The ride up here will become more exciting with motorcycle. My Mio Sporty can do it! More or less 7.5 kilometers from the National Highway.Something you should know:1. Entrance fee P100 per head2. Spacious car/motorcycle park3. Curvy and dangerous snake-like rough and cemented parts two-way road4. Safe road trip houses along the road5. With cottages for overnight stay however you can bring ur own tent for an outdoor experience6. Gets so foggy and misty at late afternoon7. Unlimited kapeng barako, they sell kakanin8. With restaurant and snack house9. Good lighting effects at night10. No smoking and vaping allowed11. Friendly staff12. Not so big area but can be considered a good place for relaxing or adventureWe took off from General Santos City before lunch and back home at about 11 midnight.

The place is perfect for relaxation, be sure to bring your warm blankets! The place is really cold from 10 pm to early morning! Tent space is available for P 200 per tent or you may rent at P 300.I love the free coffee in here, Im not a coffee person since I cannot take caffeine, but their coffee is made from scorched rice and the taste is really amazing!

Update: They now have rooms & cottages for rent plus a function hall. Tents are rented out too. If you have your own tent, just pay P100 to be allowed to camp out.Situated 2000 ft above sea level, this peaceful haven gives you a breathtaking 360 degrees view of the valleys below and of the majestic Mt. Matutum on the horizon. You can also both enjoy the sunrise on the east and the sunset on the west. Camp sites are available at designated areas under the pine trees lining up the path to the lone old vacation house of the owners at the summit. As of now, there is no entrance fee. There is no plumbing but there is a water tank containing collected rain water. Therefore, bringing your own drinking water is a must. Chilly and foggy at night, so bring jackets and flashlights altho there is electricity provided by the owners. There is 2 bonfire area but in our time they never light it. Food is good like native chicken adobo and native chicken tinola but serving is almost 2 hours so better order earlier. Like if you want to eat by 7 pm you need to order by 5pm.Its a good place for unwinding but not good for broken hearted because of many couples around (bitter be like).

A good place to relax. Very cold up here. But dont expect too much. Not much things to do here though.

A relaxing place to destressIt is situated 2667 feet above sea level. You can see the Mt matutum on one side and the whole malungon area on the other side.Part of PHP100 entrance fee is a cup of coffee, sipping the native coffee while you are enjoying the cool and breezy ambiance.They also have rooms for overnight or tents for rent

As of now the road is under construction so it is only reachable via habal habal, pick up, SUVs and other high cars that can go through muddy road.. nice view when you arrive.. we also love the very welcoming dogs who greeted us when we got there. Sending us very big smile and wagging tails!

Nice cool place with fresh air and a scenic view. The place is clean and has basic amenities including a sari sari store and a rest room. A good place to see the sun rise/set, spot rare birds or fly a drone. The road going to Kalon barak is not paved and the steep slopes may be too much to handle for most vehicles. It’s best to bring a 4x4 or ride the habal habal, unless you want to risk stressing and possibly damaging your car’s engine/breaks/suspension as what happened to ours..

One of the famous tourist spot in Malungon, Sarangani Province. Best part of the place is waking up at 4AM to witness the bed of clouds below the mountains of Malungon. Mt. Matutum is also visible near the area. Perfect for people to unwind and relax.

The mountain top resort is reached thru a seemingly unending steep narrow path on a cliff. The travel alone offers a glorious view of the mountains of Malungon and its surrounding areas. Habal habal rides (motorcycle ridesare available for those whose vehicles cannot traverse the steep path.The entrance fee is P15.00. Tents are available for overnight stay for P250(small tentand P300.(big tentThere are souvenir items for sale. The toilet is not wheelchair accessible with its high steps. Wheelchair-bound persons should not be left alone as there is a risk of falling down the mountain.

The best time to visit is early in the morning or around 4pm to start catching the fog. If you are taking a car, I suggest it must be at min a 2x4. Right now the road is paved but some parts are not cemented fully. You can also ride a habal-habal. Expect great view of Mt. Matutum and the mountain ranges of Davao del sur. Entrance is P20. Get coffee at P20. Bahay kubos will be built soon at P1500 for small and P2000 for big (overnight rates)

I really love how our experience here turned out. We conquer Kalonbarak just by walking it was very exhausting but at the same time it was fun, we never slept that time and started walking around 4 am, upon walking since its still dawn, it was very dark thankful that we have our phone with us, serves as a flashlight, and so we reach the top about 5 something already in the morning, so its quite a long walk, but the view up there, it was breathtaking, awe-inspiring view, they have an entrance fee of 20 pesos for adults and 10 pesos for the kids, you can rent tents if ever you wanted to stay longer, they have this store, that sells drinks (hot choco, coffeealso theyre selling souvenirs, they have this hall where you can just sit, chill and enjoy the view. The Mt. Matutum can also be viewed up there. Its nice if they would develop the place, it can be a venue for teambuilding activities, fellowship and recreational activities.

Finally, we reached this amazing place. Its like a piece of Heaven on Earth. Nature is amazing. Breathtaking.

This place is of the highest location in the mountainous place of Malungon. You can see the whole province on one side of the mountain and Mt. Matutom on the other. Its so high that the clouds is always passing by.About 15 to 25 minutes from the highway, accessible to four wheeled vehicles. They offer food to serve like barbeques and tinola, the food we ate when we visited the place. Make an advance reservation so that they can prepare your preferred foods.The place have wide space for tents. If you dont have one, they have small room available and they have for-rent tents and mats.Dont forget to bring your jacket if you planned to stay overnight. The temperature drops to the level that makes you shiver to your bones.

People come here for the magnificent view and the cool weather. If youre lucky you could catch a sea of clouds hovering above the town of Malungon. Dont expect for resort amenities. You could bring a tent and your food, though, if you want to stay overnight. Perfect times are during sunrise and sunset. If you want to take a trek, two hours from Kalonbarak, passing through the IP Village, you could reach a gully where theres a cool spring and waterfall to get yourself​ refreshed.

Located hill top with one of the best views. It has a wide area perfect for parties, concerts, gathering or just spending time with your loved ones. It can also be a place of escape from the busy life in the city. Its a place where you can have a breathe of fresh air and relax. Kalon Barak Skyline Ridge is easily accessible. You can even ride your car up to the place. If you want to commute, there are good people down town to give you a motorcycle ride up for an affordable and reasonable price.

One of my friends said that the place is 2000 feet above sea level. The breeze was nice, fresh and cold. It does have few pine trees giving an aura of Baguio-like place. You can see Mt. Matutum from the place. Nice scenery. Developments are on-going. I heard they are trying to build a restobar in the area.
