Kaldi's Coffee in Ballwin
Description
Privilege
We are big fans of Kaldis Coffee! We have frequent meetings at this coffee shop and one of the reasons we keep coming back is not only the drinks & food, but the warm, inviting atmosphere and the wonderful employees! All of the breakfast treats are simply divine, you cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. The smoothies, various lattes & coffees definitely hit the spot! We love supporting local, so next time youre in the area, do not hesitate, head straight to Kaldis and be prepared to be WOWd!
MoreThe coffee is okay…. The flavored lattes all taste a little like plastic honestly. Kind of gross. Additionally the girl at the counter was not friendly - she looked me up and down before I even approached the counter. The barista who made my drink was also pretty rude. He called my name and there were 3 drinks sitting there. I asked for clarification as to which was mine and be pointed to a small one. I had ordered a 16oz and asked him if that was mine for sure because I ordered a larger size. He rolled his eyes and said he’d make a new one. A few minutes later he called my name again and pointed to the larger drink that had been sitting there when I originally went up to get my drink. I asked for clarification again as that drink was there before and he got annoyed with me and sighed and said “yes” in an extremely annoyed tone. I’m good on coming back here. There are far better local establishments to support than this chain.
MoreOverall bad experience. Very slow service…I waited 20 minutes for two breakfast sandwiches, after getting my coffee, and only one person was ahead of me when I walked in. The sandwiches were nothing special, either. They looked like something from the Golden Arches. All in all, one Americano, a boxed milk, egg and cheddar biscuit, and breakfast sandwich cost me $26. Won’t be back.
MoreLove the coffee and scones here! BUT they’re sooo slow! Every time I have to wait a good 10-15 minutes for a (hot)latte.
MoreThanks for having Two Wheel Java here, we had about 25 people show up, staff did amazing with rush and not one of our orders were messed up.
MoreGood coffee. Was very busy on Saturday morning when we went last, but service was pretty fast.I cannot recommend the blueberry muffin; it tasted OK, but was much too dense.
MoreInviting atmosphere with speedy service and great coffee! Would highly recommend.
MoreWrong drink order to begin with. 2nd try at iced coffee w cream comes with curdled cream in the bottom of the cup.
MoreStopped for coffee before my two hour drive and was told I could not use the restroom. There was a worker cleaning one stall and she told me I couldn’t come use one of the other ones. Then I asked the worker up front and she was completely rude and sarcastic. I have worked in plenty of restaurants and have just stepped out if someone needed to go while I was cleaning. I now have to spend money in another establishment now so I can get to a bathroom. Will never spend my money at a Kaldi’s again. Thumbs down.
MoreMy favorite coffee spot! Love the peanut butter protein bites!
Very busy mornings, but great coffee ancha Chic atmosphere.
I wanted to try one of everything on the menu, but I wanted something fresh and havent tried Avocado toast outside of my home. This was a really cool take, I believe it was a red pepper sauce that brought it all together. Delicious and a whole meal for me paired with their fruit and kale smoothie. The ambience was very comfortable, outside seating and couches inside too. The bakery items looked delicious. Definitely priced towards the higher end but worth it in my opinion.
MoreBig space, plenty of seats. Kaldis is an excellent local roaster and this place has a nice menu and great service to go with it. Definitely plenty to choose from and a great environment to hang out in
MoreExcellent food, coffee, and tea! I always order the hibiscus elixir! I only wish these guys were open for longer in the day!!!
MoreEnjoyed the espresso and the egg bagels with bacon were amazing
One of the best frozen blended coffees Ive ever had (caramelas well as great, friendly staff and a clean, comfy indoors. Makes me wish I didnt live 5hrs away so Id have more opportunities to try the different flavors. Got a blueberry scone as well, something about the flavor throws me off but I still like it.
MoreOne of the best coffee
Great spot for morning meetings. Always run into someone here. Also, the coffee is good!
MoreThe Vanilla latte was delicious, but the Turkey avocado sandwich had some kind of strong tasting cheese on it that I really didn’t like 😔 also music was fairly upbeat and a little lots for my taste!
MoreAn okay coffee store. Hard to read their menu, which is only posted on the wall. What happened if you didnt bring eyeglasses? Feel free to feel inadequate, especially if you take more than two seconds in ordering your food. Then comes the food. The person that brought it out was very nice and friendly. The food wasnt so good. My husband didnt even care to finish his lentils soup. My grilled cheese was... How is it that every so often something as simple as a grilled cheese can be done to miss?Best thing here is the ambiance, specially if you’ve sent somebody else to order food.Coffee? I can make a better one at home.
MoreHours say they are open till 3pm but kitchen closes down at 2pm. Watched about 12 people come after 2 and were unable to get anything to eat. There were limited bakery items was not happy about that
MoreJust passing through New Mexico and noticed this coffeehouse. Sure glad I did. Excellent latte and avocado toast. Great service. I would be a regular if I lived here.
MoreVisiting from Denver. This is my local shop here. The service is tops and the espresso is quality craft. Clean and comfortable shop. Straight up addicted to the breakfast bowl. Thank you guys!
MoreBest coffee in the area! Make sure to try the highlander grogg!! Today I got the frozen Turtle
MoreRelaxed atmosphere. Friendly, helpful staff. Great breakfast - crust-less quiche and smoothie. I have never been to this location but it may be my new favorite!
MoreTheir breakfast biscuit is delicious! I had them add candied bacon and it was so great! The oat milk cold brew was great as well.
MoreGood pit stop for a bike ride. Delicious food and espresso drinks are great.
I asked barista what kind of espresso - he said single origin, but wouldn’t tell me the origin? I ordered one thing, and paid an upcharge, but got the same espresso they were pulling for every drink. I’ve worked in a coffee establishment before; please know what you are selling. I tried to come here to support a locally owned business and staff was rude and my drink tasted terrible.
MoreCoffee took forever.Placed a order for a Vanilla latte.Waited to long.Flavor was good but it wasnt that busy. They did give me a couple free drinks though. My wife ordered a frozen drink & had it immediately.Hope they do better than this when it is game time in the week
MoreThis shop has been my family’s go to hang out place each weekend this past summer. I recommend their cold brew and Almond Orange Muffin or Gooey Butter Cake. Great coffee, cannot even compare Starbucks to it.
MoreGreat experience. Was unsure what to get for food. The two baristas/servers were helpful with recommendations and when the drink I ordered wasnt exactly what I was expecting (the nitro cold brew was bitter to me - cold brew shouldnt be bitter in my opinionthe one who brought me my food replaced it with the non-nitro version which was much better. Great service and friendly staff!
MoreSkip Starbucks and visit this artisan coffee shop where they know that making a good espresso takes more than the press of a button.Their traditional drinks are my favorite – cheap and served on a tray with sparkling water and chocolate-covered coffee beans.I’m not a big fan of their avocado toast, but it’s more a matter of personal preference than it is a bad product. It comes topped with avocado, mixed greens, feta, sesame seeds, and some kind of vinegarette. It wasn’t very heavily toasted – more like avocado bread. I didn’t like the greens or sauce either – I’d prefer a simpler version with just avocado, salt, pepper, and a drizzle of olive oil. But again, most of this is personal preference.
MoreNice Cafe with good breakfast and lunch choices. I really enjoy the coffees. I decided to try the nitro cold brew coffee to see what the hype was about. But, to me its not all that special. Its OK, but probably not worth the $4 I spent on it. But Im glad that I tried it. Probably something that a person who enjoys nitro brewed beer would like.
MoreVisiting St. Louis and met a client here for a cup of joe. I arrived early so decided to get something to eat first. I had the breakfast sandwich but I subbed mustard for mayo and it was excellent! Bread tasted fresh and wasnt hard to chew in the slightest. It did sort of dominate the filling but the balance of flavors was spot on. Once they arrived, I had a whole milk vanilla latte and it was served just like it was straight out of a movie. Fantastic foam work and presentation. Just enough foam to design the top without coming across as a cappuccino. The flavor was spot on as well with a pretty dark finish just like espresso should have. The place is extremely crowded though so it might take a few minutes to find a seat but I highly recommend this spot if you are in the area and want something other than Starbucks. One negative is they lack a lot of electrical outlets if any...so make sure you are charged up before you get there if you want to work!
MoreAbsolutely killer, real coffee. But despite being cheaper than Starbucks it is better in every way. Try the Gibraltar!
MoreIve never been a huge fan of Kaldis drip coffee, but love their lattes. Unfortunately, this location doesnt even have a menu for these items or the supplies to make them. If youre going for a quick bite and black coffee - this is your place. Otherwise, look elsewhere.
MoreFun coffee shop with great coffee. Didnt try the food but it looked beautiful and yummy.
MoreFor what people consider to be a very nice high end place I was surprised by the low tech bathroom.Love the out door seating. Place is always packed with business professionals. There is a conference room in the back. Nice decor and lighting. Comfortable lounge seating available. No gluten free food options even if the muffin/scone was made with gluten free flour. Didnt know that the first I ordered it, which is a problem for me. My bad for assuming it might be safe.
MoreJust okay. The espresso shots were a bit over done. Temperature for the drink was great, not too hot or cold. Overall a nice drink for the price. Friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. Several booths and bars to work depending on your mood/requirements.
MoreGreat service and very helpful with giving me advice for food options! Like this Black bean burrito that was made into a quesadilla.
MoreTried to order a cold brew from Starbucks but apparently they are fighting with Kaldi and are unable to serve it. So I tried one from Kaldi. It tastes ok otherwise I would give 1 star for this very tiny baby size coffee that I spent nearly 4.50 on. No clue why they’re fighting Starbucks over this because I know I’m not paying that much for this tiny coffee ever again.
MoreI had a wonderful experience. The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. Atmosphere was clean and lovely. They brought my order directly to my table and, with my vanilla latte, the barista did a beautiful latte art. Ill definitely be coming back.
MoreFood is basic, but decent. Not a coffee drinker so cant rate that.
While I really like their coffees and teas, I was there on business. None the less, I bought $40 of their coffee (Highlander Groggand some of their teas. It is a long drive for me to go there, so I take advantage of being close 2 or 3 times a year. You can order online, but I would rather go there.
MoreThis place is fantastic. I have never been disappointed with anything that I have gotten here. The drinks are excellent and the food is delicious. I also really appreciate that even when they are busy they almost always greet you when you come in the door. All of that combine for a very enjoyable experience.
MoreThe coffee is great, the food is good too, and they have a nice contemporary coffee house vibe- but the customer service Ive experienced the past few visits have made me not want to go there anymore. The people taking orders always kind of seemed annoyed that I am there and they have to be taking my order... but if human interaction isnt something you factor in to an experience then Id say 4.5 stars.
MoreExcellent cappuccino using single origin El Salvador bean. They roast their own coffee. Not over-roasted. Delicious. They bake their own goods. Muffin and peanut butter ball were yummy. And they patiently talk coffee with you. Nice place.
MoreIn full disclosure I dont drink coffee (I went here with a friend who does). But I have to say this place, like most coffee shops, had a warm and inviting feel, and the air was filled with that bouquet of coffee. The place was pretty busy with wannabe writers on laptops wanting to be seen (sorry, one of my peeves), but the crowd was comprised mainly of friends gathering for cheerful visits in a pleasant environment. A little on the pricey side. So coffee drinkers, this must be your Mecca. Or mocha.
MoreNice helpful staff. The food and coffee are good. I had the steel cut oats and husband had the breakfast burrito. Both were excellent and the coffee was great. So many places the coffee is like water here is is stronger without being bitter or difficult to drink.
MoreLoved the Turkish latte! It was fine, but I ordered it in a mug and got a to go cup, also my crustless quiche and salad was actually quiche and butternut squash, but that was even better!
