Nice place to visit. The hiking and the treetop canopy walk is for the brave -hearts. If you wish to attempt it, my advice is not to look down below. The tour guide gave some basic information/history. The footpath at some sections should be strengthened to avoid people slipping especially after rainfalls.

Loved the canopy walkway! Its a 20-30 min walk through the forest from the car park and visitors centre. The views of the forest are really nice and I would recommend visiting on a week day so its not so busy and you can take your time and listen to the sounds of the forest without too much man-made noise. Also did the 1 hour nature walk which was supposed to give loads of information about the forest, trees, plants etc but was actually only 20 minutes walk along a smaller path from the end of the canopy walkway back to the car park. Wouldnt recommend this! Its a nice easy drive up from Cape Coast, good road, takes about 45 minutes one way.

A very adventurous place, it’s my second time here and this time I wasn’t that scared when I was on the suspended bridge.I realized you get more scared on your first time and that’s fine, should you try again, you won’t get that scare. The tour guides are very friendly and they have enough time for you to take your pictures, especially if you came with a family. It’s a very daring adventure and you should try it!

The forest walk and canopy tour was brilliant. The overhead walkways are well maintained and it was fun being so high above the forest. A truly breathtaking experience. The trees are so tall and beautiful, and the staff are very friendly and helpful.

Kakum national park is located in the central region Off Cape Coast, it is located in the forest belt with a number of wildlife animals including elephant , dear, tortise and other bird and animals extinctions in the world. it has natural healing for those stressed with work environment. the canopy walkway is an amazing experience where any one afraid of height, could try to boast his or her confidence. one has to hold the rope whiles walking. you can get some snake nearby shop to cool off. one can visit any time with a tour guide always ready for you. one has to pay something small for the maintenance of the tourist site.

Despite the fact that we got there 5mins to their closing time. We were given a tour guide who made our walk interesting. Had fun. Went on all levels. You pay a gate fee. Before you pay a fee for the tour as well. I’d recommend you brace yourself for the walk lol. It’s not an easy one

A truly breathtaking adventure through the forest and up to the canopy walkway. Didn’t get to enjoy the canopy walk adventure because of my little boy being so afraid but still loved it. Road from cape coast was in good state too.A little observation though- at the ticketing place, told only canopy walk available so we pay for that and get a receipt; then we start the tour then the guide says we can also do the hike or visit the treehouse but have to pay for them. Hope it’s not a means to get the monies paid into pockets outside the ticketing system… we were way inside the forest & doubt we’d have come back out to pay & re-enter…didn’t opt for the additional tour though to find out.

This place describes the word "nature". Fresh air, fresh adventure, new people and a whole lot of fun packed experiences. Workers here are very welcoming and friendly. Especially there is this tour guide I met "Emmanuella" she was kind and gentle. In fact, come to Ghana, west Africa and to the Central region where this amazing place is found and youll also love it just like me.

Amazing place to enjoy a day with a mild hike, followed by over watching the forests flora and fauna from the canopy on the rope bridges. You can opt for different trail options if youd like. Not forgetting that after the field trip you can enjoy some good refreshment at the restaurant with a lovley ambiance.

The experience at Kakum National Park is special and unique and incredible and exciting and definitely lingers on in yo memory long after youve visited the place.. Being able to be so close to nature and experience each element in their natural habitat is truly fascinating. The canopy walk is both beautiful and scary first time but you can definitely get used to it. One of the most visited tourist destinations in Ghana and the continent as a whole. Do visit whenever you can 🌚

You know the places you constantly hear about tend to be overhyped? Well that’s not Kakum, regardless of the number of times I have been there and who I have taken there, it’s always fun.The canopy walk is the highlight but the less popular treasure over there is the TREE HOUSE!If you can spend a night in the forest and go for the early morning hike… it’s awesomeLast I went I think it was 120ghcThere’s a guide with you the whole nightYou can’t go alone or in a groupPlease don’t let the sounds of the monkeys (I think🤔that sounds like screams of agony (I kid you notscare you offIt’s a great adventure.Get all the tools you need from @bucketlistghanaIf you want to dig into the tree house more watch my YouTube video or check my Instagram @akosuashirley

There are many things to do at this park. We went bird watching, hiking to the canopy walkway and visited the museum. Please bring hiking shoes if you want to go on the canopy walk. Its almost a 20 to 30 minutes hike up a mountain to get to the entrance. The canopy is very safe, there are 2 paths, one is a longer route than the other! The museum sells t-shirts and other souvenirs!

Walking on the Kakum National Park Canopy Walkway is a must do activity on your visit to Cape Coast. The hike up to the Canopy walk requires you climbing a hill about 250m above sea level and it’s a nice workout opportunity. It’s not ideal for physically challenged and people with back pains. The canopy has a height from 11m to 40m above the forest floor. Go and conquer your fears and enjoy a bird eye view of the park.

Wow! What an awesome place! We did the Canopy walk which was pretty high but we felt safe the whole way round! Our guide Diane was FANTASTIC!!! We continued after the canopy walk with the 1hr long forest walk and it too was AWESOME!! We learnt so much about the traditional medicines and trees! We tried Coco on the up to the canopy walk and then had a refreshing Coconut on the way down.. we did get pretty sweaty so recommend wearing loose fitting clothes and not sandals if going on the forest walk. 100% will go again!!

Kakum national park is famous for its canopy walk, however what most people don’t focus on is the forestry with all types of plants, birds and wild animals. It’s a great place for expedition.

Although park opens at 7am, required guided tours do not begin until 9am unless you can make prior arrangements for an earlier start. 2GHS entry fee, 50GHS for 1 hour Hiking Tour and 60GHS for Canopy Tour. There are several trails in the park but I believe all hiking has to be done with a guide and for good reason, the trails are not particularly well marked. For Hiking Tour be prepared for an uphill start that can be a healthy workout although your guide no doubt will move at your pace. Dont expect to see "Wild Animals" during a day hike. Theyre in their natural environment and will disappear as soon as they sense you coming. Here most of them are nocturnal and the park does offer night hikes if you want to increase your chances of seeing them. All I saw were bugs, butterflies and.. The Beatles.

The suspension walkway was a lot of fun. The walk from reception up to the bridges is about a 80 to 100 meter climb....pretty hot and humid in the forest. I would think a cold drink concession (if they had onecould pay a lot of bills

Break that fear and walk on that canopy almost 10 storey building heightSee the beauty of a virgin forest for the first time in your life, yes it’s good for you health to do a mini hiking and feel refreshed for this new decadeYou will also get the chance to see the oldest tree in the whole of the western region. Yea, over 500 years old tree, very interestingYes lest I forget... the road is so perfect now all the way to the forest so no more excuse.Bird watches also have a boast since you can now book your tree house apartment to stay in over nite to watch all the wild birds at late evening and 4am early morning.

Very detailed walking tour for an hour with knowledgeable guides. There is the added bonus of the canopy walk at the end which is both frightening and exhilarating. Well worth the 25GHc. More sights of the animals that live there and a more extensive food menu at the end of the walk to make it a 5.

A great experience. Walking over the canopy which is about 800m above, whilst it sways left and right, with birds chirping in the trees and the cool breeze over your face. Dont try it tho if youre scared of heights. Youll be screaming your lungs out

Slept in the tree house. The guide was very kind and explained many interesting facts about the forest. The treehouse is a fascinating experience. You will hear a loud concert of rainforest animals at night. Dont expect a comfortable bed - it is simple. The walk in the morning at sunrise was wonderful. The canope walk is also beautiful. The view over the vast rainforest is impressive. We were able to see some monkeys but not many other animals. Definitely worth the trip!

Around 1h.20min from Cape coast due to bad road otherwise 40 min.Canopy walk was a bit shaky they claim to be very safe while they do not attach you to anything it feels like the whole thing will fall I WONT however make sure you go first and steady I saw many kids playing around I was solo up front enjoyed every second others didnt have the same experience when it got crowded.Hiking after canopy was ok around 40min walk around nothing major not a single animal they are all hiding in the othet 2/3 of the park where obviously no one is allowed.Hiking and canopy is different payment all I paid around 150 local money 70/60 or so.
