Kai Bae Waterfall - Tourist attraction in Trat, Thailand
Kai Bae Waterfall in Trat
Description
Privilege
I enjoy this waterfall during the rainy season since it makes me feel fresh, but its dangerous to enter the jungle when doing so, so take caution. This is a local waterfall, not one in a royal park.
MoreAvoid- Scam!!!This has clearly been set up as an exploit for tourists.Very short snappy and aggressive old lady with what I would like to say Is a very out of control dog. I however suspect she has full control and has taught the dog to behave in this aggressive manner. The lady clearly misled myself as well as previous visitors. The walk after 30 minutes (And I am a quick Walkerturned out to be far from a “15 minute walk”. It is to dangerous to hike unless you are keen to scramble on all fours, surrounded by some pretty hefty bugs and even a large snake at one point. I turned back after a fall and would be advising no one visits this location.Better yet I feel it should be taken off Google to minimise further exploration and risk of serious harm.
MoreDO NOT VISIT! After a bumpy drive, we were greeted by a vicious barking dog running at our bike and several very alarming signs not to continue. A woman then screamed at us from her window so we waited for her to control her dog but instead she left it barking and growling while she demanded 80 baht for us to park our bike in her garden. We then started the 15 min walk (as she suggestedwhich quickly turned EXTREMELY dangerous. It was very slippy and required lots of climbing and dangerous situations. Lots of pvc pipe everywhere making it difficult to walk as you didn’t want to step on it. We didn’t even make it to the waterfall as no signage made us fear we were going to get lost or stuck in a very unsafe situation. We will never be returning and feel this site should be closed down or better maintained before welcoming visitors!
MoreNice fall if you have a little time to spend on your first or last day ... not super special but good. I was there in August it had lots of water and bathing in the waterfall pool was nice. We had to pay 40 Bath to go there. Way is short through the jungle with little climbing. ... It is possible to go up the waterfall as well there is a barely visible path on the left hand side short before you reach the lower end of the fall
MoreVery disappointing. Went in August, very treacherous path, dangerous even, for an old git like me. Overgrown, mosquito heaven. Not nearly enough to grab onto on the slippery sections. Blue pvc pipe everywhere and the waterfall at end is really not worth the effort. Woman who took my 40B told me 15 min walk. Took me double that.
MoreVery bad place
Nothing to see there, when you arrive you will be yelled at to park your bike and pay entrance fee. This is on a private property and they just want to make a few bucks…Even cheap (40 ฿it not worth the 25 min climb with all the insects around you including big mosquitoes. Maybe it’s not the season but at least the owner should tell you… very bad attitude…
More5 stars in rainy session for sure. For now in April you can still cool off in the pool and enjoy the peaceful jungle atmosphere. The little walk in nice, takes about 10mins.
MoreFake waterfall that has water pumped into from some part of the stream. Kudos for recycling but I prefer natural. Hike to get to it not safe for your average person. I needed a machete for some parts. I see why there were no other tourist on the trail. Paying a local 40bht per person to cross through his yard to get to the trail. I doubt he owns the mountain the water fall sits on.Dont waste your time or money unless you like the path less traveled.
MoreBeware of scam artists who try and bribe you to pay for parking. Rangers do nothing to help or stop theft.
Wasted.
MoreThe trail is poorly maintained and lacks signage. While authentically challenging, but not recommended for kids or elderly who are not prepared for climbing some part of the trail with the rope. The land is a private property, hence you will be charged for going inside and no safety was guaranteed in case of injuries.Entry fee: 40 THB (for Thais)
MoreA little bit difficult trail but hikable in sandals/flip flops. Beautiful pond and very quiet, great for photos.
Sehr empfehlenswert!
MoreYou need a proper pair of shoes and pants for this.We were wearing short jeans and slippers so it was quite more difficult to hike to the waterfall due to the path was slippery. The nature there was so beautiful.. with nice weather.
MoreIs a really nice waterfall i couldnt believe that living almos 5 month in this area I did not knew about it. I did not have to paid cause my Friends live in the village but agree that if you have to pay at least should be some signs to guide through the jungle, there is a really small path that you follow by common sense but in some point you can get confused when finding two paths at the time. Anyways it worth the effort rwally beautiful, peaceful and calm place.
MoreA very serene drive to the waterfall. The road to the waterfall may be bumpy, however it is easier to get there with a motorbike as you can find a spot to park in the village.Once you arrive you’ll have to pay an entry fee of 40 baht per person. And walk through the village for around 50 meters before entering forest-like path. Make sure to clap or stomp on stable ground to keep the cobras away, wear lots of sunscreen and even more insect repellent (the spray is effective but lotion works much betteravailable at 7-11. The forest-like path can be steep and slippery and has ropes on some parts for support. You’ll also notice water pipes along the way, make sure not to grab or step on it as the water supplies the village and the villagers will not be happy if you break it.After trekking for 20 minutes you’ll arrive at the base of the waterfall where you can feed very small fishies and swim in the pool. The water is very refreshing and if it’s a sunny day your swimwear will dry if you leave it out on the rocks before trekking back.
MoreThe path to the waterfall was not obvious but google pinned location to the waterfall kind of helped in finding the actual waterfall. Water was cold and refreshing and I liked it.But of course there were mosquitoes and insect .So, Insect repellent is MOST. And you have to go through the private property where you have to pay 40 baht as of Decemeber 2020. Waterfall was OK but I think it would have been better during rainy season i.e around June to September. On our way we also saw elephant that were relaxing.
MoreA nice walk to a high water fall
Not the easiest to find but the falls is just amazingly beautiful. Met with some people along the way who said they werent able to reach the falls. Actually, the path is just too narrow and steep. Gotta wear proper shoes if you plan on going. Water is pleasingly cold. It was only me on a beautiful day when i came here, so i get to enjoy the whole place. Just follow the blue pipes on your left. Dont hold on to them when the path gets too steep. This place is a complete jungle goals if youre into that.
MoreNice water fall. Worth the walk.
You have to climb through the jungle to get there, the path is not clear, we got lost for a while. When you get there its very beautiful, you can swim around the waterfall
MoreKatastrophaler Dschungelweg40 Baht Eintritt
The waterfall is gorgeous during the rainy season but I suppose it is not that impressive during winter months. It is quite a hike to get there, narrow path through dense jungle. Totally doable but it is not an easy national park walk. Other reviews stated that it takes 10-15 minutes to get to the waterfall but for us it was 30-40 minutes (with no selfie time). The road gets steep at times.
MoreVery nice. But do not come here without proper shoes! You pay 40 thb to the woman at the "entrance" and thats totally fine. No difference between Thai and non-Thai people. On Open Street Maps you can even find the path. Again: no flip flops, bring proper shoes! And insect repellent...
MorePaying to see nature. Btw if you not Thai they charge 300 baht the foreigners
More10-15 mins of hiking to reach the waterfall, which is amazing! Beautiful, big and it has a deep pond to swim in. Locals sometimes charge 40B to enter.
MoreВодопад симпатичный.
More40 bhat per person. Follow the signs. Quite an effort to go through the jungle to reach it. Nice swim.
MoreBe aware 40 baht each for crossing "private land" even if you only walk there!!!
MoreTerribly sign posted, and why on earth land owners keep aggressive dogs on the only path to a tourist attraction i do not know. Had to turn around and did not see the waterfall. Not advised to go alone.
MoreIf you’re an adrenaline junkie, visit Kae Bae secret waterfall. The path is slippery and small, and the dog that sits at the start of the hike is terrifying. Beware!
MoreFantastic! I bit of a search, but worth it. Only 20baht for parking motorbike. Good swim as well
MoreSecluded waterfall in the middle of the jungle, extremely peaceful.Just one heads up - watch out for the guard dogs all around the village through which you need to pass to get to and from the waterfall!
MoreНе дойти.
MoreNice little hike to the waterfall. There are a LOT of mosquitoes so wear bug spray, and we did it in thongs (flip flopsbut it could get steep and slippery in places so I dont recommend it. Sneakers would be more comfortable. Beautiful little pool to swim in, lovely and cool, bring swimwear :)
MoreHave to cross private property, where you can rent a bungalow. They take 20 Baht for parking and visit the waterfall. Have to go about 600 meters through the jungle. Dont go if you are scared from hight and spiders. The waterfall is nice and you can swim there.
