Great from start to finish. Came as a group of 4 and we all enjoyed it. Staff were great and patient with our queries and choices. They even went out of their way to make a vegan chai with soya milk after I recommended it. Would definitely come again next time Im in London. Well done guys!

Very popular. It was full on a Wednesday night (perhaps even a little cramped). Food and service was great. They even have tablecloths! The food was very filling but they have a discreet doggy bag service.

Absolutely amazing 👏Delicious tasty food, great service, attention to detail. (The staff remember the reason for our visit - my husband bday)Portions were very generous and the courses just kept coming. We spent a bit higher than probably the average due to the champagne, cocktail and beers.Definitely recommend. Will definitely go back again

Visited Kahani following the Google Reviews. Unfortunately started great but ended very dissapointed. We had a party of 5 of us and were seated at our reserved time. However, getting a drink or ordering was something we had to wait on for some time.Once ordered we all very much enjoyed the food it was great taste and some great dishes. The deserts were a little disappointing and were not as great as the starters and mains. The chaat was exceptional from the starter list.We struggled to order more drinks as the team had to be spotted to find them and getting the bill taken some time.Unfortunately, following this the team all became unwell and was following this meal. On contacting the management team of the restaurant on Friday 28th October, no response or acknowledgment. On further investigations we believe the prawn dish that was part of the main caused issues following. What could have been great ended up being a disappointment and expensive evening followed by severe food poisoning the following day.

We went to Kahani without much expectations, other than knowing it has a good reputation. Given the piece tag, its always a risk as to whether it will be worth it. But from the second we arrived outside, and were greeted at the door, we were pleased. Having a pram with us, we were directed next door to the hotels lift. ALL the staff were not only attentive but responsive and efficient. The process for bottomless brunch and each course was clearly explained. The portions were very generous and the quality of the food of a high standard. Value for money, cant recommend Kahani enough. Was just such a good experience.

Food was good, nothing spectacular, but equally nothing below a very good standard.Nice cocktails, and a reasonable ambience.I think the tables could be cleaned to a higher standard - our table was unfortunately sticky to touch.

This establishment did not get 5 stars because of one order. The saffron rice seemed uncooked and hard. However, they thankfully accommodated a special request of mine and made it, even though it wasnt on the menu. The atmosphere is a cultural shock for me, Ive never had an indian cuisine in a romantic atmosphere.Worth the visit.

The last time I visited Kahani was in 2020 and I was blown away by the quality of the food and the customer service, so was looking forward to visiting again but this time with my family. In 2020 I felt I was eating Michelin standard, but it just wasnt the case this time.My recent visit was 2 weeks ago, we dined in during lunch and ordered from the al la carte and weekend roast menu. Certain dishes were outstanding, however others just didnt quite hit the mark.Stand out dishes were:*Tandoor lamb chops - full of flavour and beautifully moist*Achari gohst*Spiced chickpeaWe also ordered the lamb shank from the weekend roast menu and the kashmiri nihari shank, although the meat fell off the bone from both dishes they lacked flavour and were disappointing. The last time I visted they we the star of the meal.We also ordered 3 types of lassi drinks which were served in tiny glasses and definitely did not taste like a lassi.I was literally in awe the last time I had the peanut butter parfait so was looking forward to ending my meal with this dessert but it just wasnt the same. Looked a mess, tasted ok.Overall, it was ok but probably wouldnt come back. Quality and standards have definitely dropped.

Booked by my husband for a birthday treat left extremely disappointed. Achari gosht and lamb biryani lacked flavour! When send dishes to be rectified I was sent back the same dishes with chilli powder and fresh chillies on top which was now not edible and both dishes were left untouched. To top it off the manager had the cheek to charge us full for items we had not touched and sent back due to the quality. This clearly explained the reasons for why it was so empty. I’ve been to many Michelin star restaurants but never felt so disappointed with flavour and management team.

We had a top notch experience at Kahani last night. Not only was the service plentiful (there were no staffing issues herebut very friendly knowledgeable and professional. The atmosphere was lovely in the restaurant itself, very soothing and beautiful. Our waiters made us feel very welcome and the food was absolutely brilliant. The best Indian food I’ve ever eaten. We opted for the the four course Dawat menu and nothing disappointed. My favorite was the Somerset lamb chops with Kashmiri-chilies and Negercoil clove, which was so succulent and tender it just melted in my mouth. I highly recommend this place and we will definitely go back again!

Not the best experience.Their website doesnt mention menu times, so I came in at 6.45pm and asked for the pre-threatre menu. Only to be told that "had I come in 15 mins earlier, then maybe I would have been offered it". Disappointing. There would be no issue if the restaurant displayed their menu times in advance. My Achari Ghost (lamb currywas good, although I expected a bit more for £25 a dish. The place is located in a basement so it feels a bit dim and small, but it has a pleasant vibe.Staff was polite, but it also didnt feel like treatment in an above-average establishment.

Kahani surpassed our expectations in terms of service, taste and overall dining experience. We have eaten at other top end Indian restaurants, and Kahani is definitely up there. The food was exceptional, fresh, and pleasantly distinct from the traditional dishes on Indian menus, and the service was very good too. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal and will be returning.

Went for the bottomless brunch. Atmosphere and environment could have been better as this is based underground. Food was quite decent (some dishes better than others). Service good however we weren’t allowed to take away our leftover food even though we didn’t order any additional dishes…seemed like a waste of food!

We had a great 4-course dining menu at Kahani. The set menu comprised of mainly chicken and lamb, with a bit of fish and vegetable. The set menu itself was actually plenty thanks to its relatively generous portion. The grilled lamb chop in particular was really delicious. The service was really good with the waiter attentively checked if we were satisfied with the quality of the food. I would be happy to come back and check out the a la carte menu

Melt in the mouth 5 courses, too many choices, octopus, scallops, lobster, slow cooked nihari, venison keema. Dessert patented cheesecake with raspberry sauce inside globe, sticky toffee pudding and 4 kulfi flavours including rose - taste sensation alert!! Fantastic dinner, great service and fabulous ambience in private dining room. Book early to avoid disappointment as fully booked due to high demand!

Ive visited this place on December 2021, about 8:00 pm. It was packed, and very loud. We ordered, chicken, fish curry, rice, nan bread, cucumber & mint raita, and sambosa.Nan bread was really good, so we made another order. Also, they had 0.0% alcohol free beer which is really great. The staff was very friendly and nice, the service is amazing.I thought the food was good but not really great. The quantity of the food was little in comparison to it price. The cleanliness of the food and place is 5/5.Generally, I enjoyed being in this place.

The food, service and ambience is just exceptional. Literally felt like a Michelin star restaurant. The taste of Indian food here is so authentic and nostalgic. It is indeed on the expensive side, but totally worth it. I’m definitely going in there again. I’ve had Achari gosht, garlic nan and samosa platter which were outstanding. One of the best Indian food I’ve tried in London so far.

Food was excellent , well marinated and fresh . The crab starter was so well made and tasty, the prawn grill was perfectly grilled and tender full of flavour. The paneer tikka curry was also soft and yummy we had a side of okra which was also very scrumptious. Superb

Fabulous meal & Tasting menu experience. This place is a hidden gem, difficult to find it through google maps as it takes one to rear of the restaurant.Went for the Tasting menu choice & it started with a fantastic amuse bouche - Kale fritters…Black Chicken was a revelation - delighted that I tasted it at KahaniScallops with a pickled shrimp base, NicePrawn tandoori was classic dishThe guinea fowl tikka is treat tooThe sorbet was a just a break before the main dish - the Somerset Lamb Chops served with potatoes & dal makhani : Fabulous. Who wouldn’t be full by this timeMake space for the dessert - Chocolate delight with almond brittle & caramel ice cream. The staff were accommodating as we asked for a few tweaks.Pity I did not meet the chef - Peter Joseph. Amazing dinner experience in the lovely Sloane Square area.Kahani which means story has amazed me with the stories behind each dish and the mix of flavours I got to experience. From the starters to dessert I was left speechless. My personal favourite was the paneer tikka followed by the amazing cheesecake options.I would have thought most Indian restaurants would be high in the vegetarian offerings , despite having some options it has more options for nok vegetarians which Im sure are equally as good. One great option slightly away from the hustle bustle but still very much in the heart of the capital.

We had the bottomless brunch (food onlyand ordered drinks separately. The service is good from the minute you arrive, with someone at the cloakroom to help with your coats before you walk down the stairs to the main restaurant.Although the food was delicious, the spiced chickpea chaat from the starters was our favourite. I also liked the keema naan. There is a good variety of drinks on offer, we had a soft drink, cocktail and wine with our meal. There were three of us, two with dietaries (one vegetarian and one mild nut allergy). They did well to adjust the menu for vegetarian diets, nuts are a bit harder and there is some risk involved, but they have a good understanding of what is used in which part of the kitchen.I would recommend nut allergy sufferers to call ahead and check before booking if it would be suitable. Same for families with small children / physical disabilities as there is no changing facility or step-free access to the restaurant (or we just didnt see them).

We had the six course tasting menu and it was exceptional. The service was perfect. Our server was a very sweet and pleasant fellow who was attentive and helpful. The food was incredibly fascinating and tasty. I think the guinea fowl was our favourite, but each dish was really enjoyable. The wine menu was comprehensive. The cocktails we had were gorgeous and delightful. They even prepared a special little desert because my wife and I were celebrating a job offer. This was a perfect meal and blew me away. We will be coming back!

We discovered this place after searching for a good but different Indian restaurant that we hadnt explored previously. The ambience was good. We were welcomed well and the service was friendly, attentive and thoughtful. The starter was different and nice, so was the dessert but we personally did not find the mains all that interesting. It might just be us, but the meaty dishes felt too rich and rice wanting a lot more love. All in all a decent experience. Credit cards accepted including American express.

Booked myself and my husband in for a bottomless brunch. They were very accommodating regarding the booking. The venue was easy to find and beautiful. Loved the decor and ambience. Going onto the food, everything was delicious however we enjoyed the starters the most. My husband wasnt too keen on the chicken thigh curry as it had too much fat on it so left it. We were very full and was unable to finish everything. We ordered some mocktails too, the pineapple one was amazing. The Chelsea garden not so much so. Overall a very beautiful experience. Quite pricey. Thank you Dev Singh. 😊

I couldnt believe my ears when I was invited to order more of these delicious dishes again as part of the bottomless menu. Unfortunately my eyes were bigger than my stomach and I had to concede defeat but of course still had room for the incredible dessert to finish.I was enchanted by the first cocktail but wanted to switch to soft. The barman was so kind as to make a soft version of my tasty cocktail. I coined it "the Emma". Lychee, coconut, rose water, jasmine... topped off with a rose. Not sure itll make it onto the mocktail menu but itll stay in my heart and memory for a long time. Dreamy.

This has got to be the most under the radar amazing indian restaurant of London. They deserve to get more buzz because the food is outstanding, the ambience is very classy and the service is exceptional. Kahani translates as story in Urdu and the food showcases contemporary Indian small plates using seasonal and sustainable British produce. From a warm welcome to friendly service we enjoyed several dishes and the cocktails!. Starting with Samosa platter which is Punjabi aloo, kolhapuri chicken, chettinad venison, three tasty morsels of food with dipping sauces. Another starter is the Soft shell crunchy crab with Mangalorean spices, and tomato chutney, delicious. For mains we had the Guinea fowl tikka with Chettinad spices, smoked tomato sauce, Ajwain roti - tender flavourful game which went with our other dish of Kahani Butter Chicken a smooth silky curry sauce with tomato makhani and fenugreek leaves. The desserts were beautifully presented and the the Raspberry & mint cheesecake ‘melt in the middle’ just perfect as well as the Medley of kulfis – Salted caramel, Rose malai, & Pistachio cardamomGood location near Sloane Sq and the shopping area of Sloane St leading to Knightsbridge.

The flexible menu was probably my favorite part of the experience - you can literally try a variety of dishes like Spanish tapas but with fusion Indian food. Presentation was top notch as was the explosion of flavors in every dish. Service was amazing as well; my friend and I felt very well taken care of. Would definitely recommend for a business dinner (in the VIP roomor an intimate date.Last but not least, coming from a marketing and branding specialist, I loved how Kahani went above and beyond to ensure all details were on brand.
