Research is needed to explore the hidden mysterys of the place. The archeology department of the government must fix a description board on the site and make efforts to conserve the site.
Strongly recomended for visitingFor more info contact for guiedness
It was a very scenic and nice experience of Journey from Kafar lot to chashma Barrage Mianwali
Its verry butiful place
Must visit place but be mindful of the fact that Kafir Kot has two sides, South and North. I could do the South which was amazing experience. a bit off roading as well, so avoid using small vehicles. North side, have heard is equally important to visit. Its approach is very close to Chashma Barrage Mianwali.
A historic place in kpk kohistan Mountain
Archaeological remains. The temples design is Hindus architect. But between the temples there is a STUPA like structure which is a Buddhist architect. So I am not clear either the remains belong to Buddhist civilization or Hindu civilization.
An ancient ruins of Temples... A historical place
Not a popular tourist spot. However, i would recommend everyone reading this review to visit Bilot Fort/ Kafir Kot.It is basically an ancient Hindu Temple. As per some historians these temples were destroyed by Ghaznavi. Some historians are also of the opinion that these temples are Bhuddist stupas. These ruins are located at the Border of D. I. Khan and Mianwali districts on Chasma-Kundal Road. These ancient temples were built on a Hill with River Indus flowing beneath. It provides a scenic view of Indus River from above. Sharing some pictures here. Thank me later 👍✌️.One more thing. Best days for visit is Winters. As summers are harsh here. Any day just before Rain could be the ideal day for visit.
This place so amazing that our historical place our 4th year Class fellows trip these moments never forget 😍💓❤️
Best place to visit if you are visiting Belote Shareef. You should also visit Kafir Kot North. View of this place is very beautiful. One side of this place is surrounded by Indus River and other side is surrounded by Chashma Right Bank Canal.

On a hilltop to the left of Torkham is the ruined Kafir kot, a Hindu relic of the ninth century AD. On this ridge in 1919, the British and Afghans fought one of the last engagements of the Third Afghan War.

Kafir Kot are ancient ruins of Hindu temples located in Dera Ismail Khan District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. It consists of the ruins of 5 temples, and the ruins of a large fort protecting the site. The ruin consists of two forts in the north-west of the district on small hills attached to the lower spurs of the Khaisor Range, and overlooking the Indus River near the Chashma Barrage. One lies a few miles south of Kunda and the other near Bilot. According to the district Gazetteer of Mianwali of 1915 the remains of Kafirkot (and the nearby ruin of Mariare indication of the existence of a Hindu civilization of considerable importance and antiquity. These forts are of great antiquity and interest. Their main features are an outer defensive wall, consisting of rough blocks of stone, some of great size, and various groups of buildings resembling small Hindu temples and more or less carved. These are built of a curiously honey-combed drab-coloured stone not to be found in the adjacent hills, which is said to have been brought by river all the way from Khushalgarh. The area of the forts is considerable and they could have held a fairly large garrison. The only legends attached to them relate that they were occupied by the last of the Hindu Rajas, Til and Bil; but all traces of rulers and ruled are now lost. Bilot Fort is the second fort situated next to the town of Bilot Sharif and about 55 km north of Dera Ismail Khan. It was an ancient Hindu Fort with a famous temple inside its walls. The fort has disintegrated over time but the temple still stands.

I came from Mianwali to visit this place. I liked this place. If anyone wants to see the old ruins, he should visit this place.
Located just near Chashma Barrage. You can have a decent BBQ Party there. The place is quiet and peaceful, just at the bank of the Indus River and Lake. You will have to park your car on the road, and climb up to on the track for about 10-15 minutes. If youre on the bike, then you can take your bike uphill, not an easy task though.

Kafir kot is a historic place with an old fort which has now demolished from many parts. Only few remains are present. Presently sone restoration work is in progress. There is not a single facility available for tourist and there is no advertisement of such an important historic place with great history. It could be a good point of visits for tourists.
A good and historical place.
Its worthwhile to visit this historical place. Nicely erected on mountains along river Indus. Great archeological site on ancient Hindu shahi Raj era having unique temple resemblance with Bilot, Milot, Katas Raj and Hindu temples of salt range. Amalgamation of history, archeology, nature and much more to excavate
Now its just remains of ancient glory.
Lovely place with a beautiful view of Indus river and green fields....wana visit it again & again
