If I could only eat one thing for the rest of my life it would be their lamb soup. A traditional beef stew that gives warmth to your bones and life to your soul, made by people who serve you with a smile in what feels like a friends home.

The best part of this place was the waiter. He was very nice and helpful. The girl at the bar was playing with her phone while we waited to place our order. Also, my husband ordered a simple bagel and it took a very long time to get his order.

Really cute cafe, the food, coffee & tea was great. Make sure to check the menu on their actual website - the google page for it has some pictures of menus posted by other reviewers but Kaffi Ilmur must have updated what they offer recently because the menu when we got there was completely different.

Very cosy place. Staff is very polite and smiley also.As for the food, amazing soups, cakes and in general dishes. Everything super fresh, tasty and big portions.Fully recommended for breakfast and lunch.

This place is amazing, in the photo you can see the apple pie with whisky sauce. The owner is very kind and friendly. I highly recommend the Kaffi Ilmur not just for coffee but is great for lunch or dinner. Enjoy it

Staff were friendly and attentive, the hungry plate here was definitely named correctly, a great way to start a long busy day

They dont have any selection of coffee beans, the ones they use are probably the same company that half of Iceland is using (Illy or sth). So not the best coffee, BUT delicious desserts, good tea (slightly bigger selection), very cozy place with some comfortable seats.

Best cake I’ve ever had

My husband I stopped here early morning for breakfast before we left for Reykjavik and it was such a cute place. Breakfast was buffet style and although small, the food was amazing!! There was an assortment of breakfast foods and something for everyone! The owner and staff were super friendly and kind and made an effort to say hi to the patrons. Make sure you stop by for a great breakfast or just a coffee and pastry!

Excellent service! They made special breakfast for us a few minutes after breakfast time❤️ We fell in love with the place and food gives us power to continue travel!

I visited this place last summer, I was looking for a place to work at on my laptop and had the most delicious and cozy lunch here. Absolutely loved it, probably my favorite and most lovely meal I had in Iceland.

Terrific cafe and lunch spot in an old home on the hill in the center of Akureyri. The halibut was the best Ive EVER HAD! Highly recommended!

Such a friendly, welcoming spot - and they have a Sunday brunch buffet! Includes coffee or tea, juice, and the buffet (when we visited a few weekends agohad eggs, sausage, bacon, skyr, salads, breads, cheeses, fruits, desserts, and more. Great view of downtown Akureyri from the second floor, where the buffet was served. Highly recommended!

Amazing meal with great prices! We stumbled in and did a soup and salad buffet that hit the spot. After a week in a camper van on Ring Road, having fresh salad was exactly what we needed. They were also serving a cream of mushroom soup that I had 3 bowls of. Best prices we have seen on the road. We will definitely come back here if our travels finds us back in Iceland!

Friendly staff, very good cake and fish soup. If weather is nice, there are plenty of tables outside in the sun.

Highlights were cozy ambiance, latte with oat milk, homemade seed bread, and brilliant orange egg yoke. Vegan options. WiFi.

Its the ideal cafe you hope to find in a town like Akureyri. The breakfast was amazing, especially the eggs were done so well. Loved the vibe. Grab one meal here for sure.

Loved it .... Small old cafe with a great view ... Just 5 mins from the main highway ... There are a bunch of coffee places around, this is probably the best one

This is their flat white. Sad to say this is the worst restaurant so far since Ive been to Iceland. Overly hyped place with big portions and a good view to cover up for their lack in food quality. If you love their lamb soup here you need to travel more.

Cosy place with excellent food, we where a group of 8 and had different selection of the menu. All members of the party where very happy with the quality and the prices of the food. Could definetly recommended this place!

Im not going to lie—I didnt end up at this place because of the coffee so much as the beer. Still, Kaffi Ilmur does give visitors a chance to try some local sweets and fare. Plus, the location is great on a sunny and not-too-terribly chilly May day. If the weathers right, try checking out the patio on the upper side.

The best cakes we tasted in Iceland! The skyrcake is amazing. We went there for dinner and for lunch. Everything was tasty and the staff exceptionally friendly.

The best in the city breakfast and lunch place with fantastic coffee.I ordered bagel with trout snd cream cheese and it was absolutely delicious. The lady at the bar is so nice and friendly with a good sense of humor.Definitely recommended.

We came here in a food tour and we had a delicious typical Icelandic meat soup. Best one we got all stay.Small detail: as soon as we entered it smelled like Christmas ... Sugar and cinnamon ! Brings you back your childhood

Lovely place with a great lunch buffet. Friendly staff and great tasting food for a very reasonable price. The lasagna was especially excellent and the salad selection was great.highly recommended
