Kabanas in San Juan

Taco Tuesday is where its at! We sampled the falafel, chicken and beef tacos and all 3 were unique and absolutely delicious. Kabanas is officially our favorite place for Mexican food in Condado! Cant wait to sample some of their other dishes - we will certainly be back!

Highly recommended! I am a local in PR and I’ve tasted everything on the menu and all items are delicious, brunch/lunch everything is good. Also you can take your pet with you ❤️ great place to go at anytime of the day with family and/or friends!

Great food, especially for lunch.Heard great things about this place from the people in my hostel and must agree! I regret not getting the fish tacos since everyone else seemed to, but my fish sandwich was still great!

I had Kabanas on my list to visit during my trip to San Juan. You didn’t let me down! The service was very friendly and quick. The food was delicious esp the fish tacos. I’ll be back on my next visit. Thanks!

I really want to give this place four stars or even five, but our service tonight was terrible, and we noticed several tables around us also struggling with prompt service. It took 45 minutes to get our appetizer of chips and salsa, after I had to remind the staff. They might be understaffed, which is a sign of the times these days, but we were disappointed after seeing so many good reviews. Tacos were bomb and mixed drinks were legit, so hoping they can figure out the right balance on service

I normally never write reviews. I saw all the wonderful reviews about this place and thought to give it a shot. The food and service was terrible. It was 20 minutes before someone got our drink order, another 15 minutes for them to get the actual drinks. I order chips and salsa to start and the salsa tasted like water down marinara sauce. Worst experience ever

The ordering is a little weird. Food and drinks are good. I had the steak quesadilla was great. Excellent service

Ate here w family last night, including 3 kids aged 11 and under. Kids ate from the kids menu which was affordable. They each had juice which seemed expensive at $4 each but it was actual fresh juice (strawberry and watermelonso considering that it is reasonable. My wife and I both had an acai bowl which was good, but not on the level of Acai Express. Also had chicken nachos. They were very generous with the toppings. Open air ambiance and service was good. Oh and we also had a few drinks, it was $6 Monday special for Mules and Martinis.

Still love this place... 5 years later and new awesome location, food just as good.

I went to PR on a girls trip and we went to Kabanas twice. The 1st day, there were 7 of us present and the next time we went all 11 of us were there. The food service was fairly fast considering the size of our group. The drinks are good and the food is delicious. My top picks are the empanadas and the mahi mahi fish tacos. And OMG, the rice and beans. How can something so simple be so good. Everyone in my group enjoyed their food. No complaints at all. The service was stellar. Friendly staff. Our last visit we met the manager and he was awesome. Great hospitality. You have to make a point to eat and drink here if you vist San Juan.

Got the fish sandwich and their fish tasted like its been in the freezer for a year. Its a shame that its literally walking distance from the sea. The "homemade" salsa was literally just chunky tomato sauce. The skirt steak taco was alright. Maybe we just order the wrong things.

Probably the best tacos I’ve had! The shell seems to be crusted in cheese and the beans are amazing. Wait staff was nice. They have bathrooms inside, they where small but clean. Within walking distance from the beach. Overall one of the highlights of our day!!!

Really great staff and the food came fast. We got the steak nachos, chicken tacos, and a fish sandwich which were all great. They have an AC area as well as a terrace, open-air section.

Good service, the rice and beans were excellent. Tacos were ok at best.

Mahi Mahi tacos with a side of chips and salsa. It was delicious and I was able to choose my own seat when I arrived. The food arrived in a timely manner. I would go back if Im ever in town again.

Great food, awesome service! Basically right across the street from La Conda. Don’t be afraid to walk outside of your resort. They have happy hour also.

There coffee and breakfast sandwich was amazing. A bit pricey! Do not recommend eggs Benedict they add something Spicy on top and eggs were hard boiled not poached.

We came to this place in search of a nice brunch and they didn’t disappoint. We were seated quickly at a clean table. It’s menu to table and order at kiosk which wasn’t an issue. We didn’t wait long for mimosas which were really refreshing. The food came shortly after and it was amazing, we ordered fish tacos and breakfast tacos. All ingredients were fresh. These were the best beans we had in PR all week. The mimosas were strong, fresh and $6! Highly recommend this place.

We decided to give this place a try just based on the raving reviews about the tacos. This place did not disappoint. It took us a while and we had to wait in a long Q before we got seated. There is no option to make reservations. I tried mahi mahi taco and my wife tried falafel tacos (I never knew they existed). The tacos were quite flavorful, with a medium spicy salsa. Mahi mahi was slightly over done. I tried the classic margarita and it was really one of the best and authentic tasting margarita (not too sweet and just the right amount of kickthat I have tasted. I forgot to inquire about what tequila was used. Over all, the service was pretty quick and the staff was friendly. This is a place to hang out with friends and family for a casual night out. I would definitely recommend.

I visited Puerto Rico two weeks ago & I visited this location twice. I would’ve tried everything on the menu if I could. Their pork and steak tacos alone were flavorful as well as their beans. Purchasing food and filling beforehand was new for me but the food was worth every cent. I’ll be back here when I return to PR in the future.

It was okay, we ordered the eggs Benedict which where more like boiled and hardly any sauce on top. The English muffin was not toasted. The French toast was not very hot when served and the espresso shots were really watery.

This location is fantastic in Condado. Im giving it 4 stars because my waffles were cold and the seating arrangements were odd as we told to order then sit? Then go outside out front to pay. BUT great food and easy access to other shops and La Ventana.

Food and drinks were pretty good but nothing overly amazing. Didn’t like that we had to order at the hostess stand and close out our bill each time.

This place had great reviews so I decided to give it a try. Wonderful atmosphere great food , loved the coconut margarita.

I had the fish island tacos with tostones and a lava flow. Island tacos had grilled fish that was flaky, tender and perfectly cooked. The sesame emulsion on top was uh-mazing!!! The lava flow was also tasty and not overly sweet with bit of real coconut flakes on top. The tostones were perfectly crispy on the outside and delicious. You should definitely stop in and give it a try.

Excellent costumer service, great place to hangout and have some delicious food. From everything I had on the table, the hummus nachos were the best! Cant wait to come back and try everything else.

Stopped for lunch. Didnt order much off the menu. Order the queso fundido. They brought out their 2 versions of the salsa and hot sauce. The green one was 🔥. Taste was off the hook. The red one was more like a marinara. Not as good as the green one. Wife had a Titos watermelon-lemonade and she said it was bomb. Id definitely go back.

The tacos with their awesome seasame dressing were my absolute favorite. The veggie burger was nice as well with tostadas as a side dish. I came here twice - packed up tacos to go to airport as well.

Delicious food but long wait times as this is busy time of the year.We ordered Chicken Fajitas, Fish Taco’s, Nachos. All the food was really good. Service was great too.

Our family enjoyed Kabanas twice while on vacation in San Juan. The dine in experience is fun and open air. We also did take out once. All experiences were excellent. If you’re plant-based/vegan you’ll love their falafel tacos! My wife and daughter had their burgers and quesadillas as well as omelettes.Give these folks a try when staying in San Juan. Do be patient as like many businesses nowadays their limited on staff. You won’t be disappointed!

Had a bit of a wait for a table at a busy time and then a bit of a wait for wait staff, but once they started us off, it was good. Have the queso fundido. Avoid bottomless chips -- they bring a tiny serving of chips and tiny container of below average salsa. The taco shells are very good.

Nice food and vibe. Servers are super nice. Food slightly on the expensive side but the portion size is good too. Should try veggie tacos for veggie lovers.

Phenomenal food and drinks. We had steak fajitas and burger sliders, with amazing margaritas. Arguably the best meal we had in PR - which was surprising since we just walked by and decided to eat here. Busy area and casual atmosphere. 10/10 would recommend

The food was excellent! I was looking for something quick and this spot turned out great! Great drinks at a reasonable price, Queso dip the best I’ve ever had. Definitely recommend this place when you visit!

Tacos are to die for. Something they do with the taco pita that makes it super scrumptious.I also got the tamarind margaritas which I liked.The edamames were ight and nachos were pretty good

This place had some good food!!The waiter was super chill. Protein banana smoothie was awesome. Chicken and waffles were good. Breakfast taco was good also.My brother liked his burger and the fondue dip. We were stuffed and fully satisfied

We visited here twice during our vacation. Great food and really friendly service. We tried the edamame, smoked salmon spring rolls, falafel nachos, guacamole, breakfast tacos, burger, waffles, avocado toast. $2 tacos on Tuesday. $5 mixed drinks on Wednesday (mojitos, margs). Clean. I’d recommend.

Right on the main hotel strip in Condado. Drinks were good. Had the pina colada and blueberry ginger mule. The tacos are what make here worth it. We got the skirt steak tacos and the Mahi mahi tacos, and they were really good. Service is pretty quick as well. You dont need a reservation usually.

Some of the best tacos in the city! Don’t bother getting anything else in my opinion the tacos are next level! Greta staff and super quick service. Highly recommend to anyone visiting!

Had the best taco of my life here before leaving the island. We came by early and the staff was so friendly and fast. I could have eaten here for every meal it was that good. If you’re going for tacos in San Juan do yourself a favor and stop here!

Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. However, the sandwich was very pretty but flavorless. No seasoning whatsoever. I had to go buy sauce to give it more flavor but it was not a good taste. I’d recommend being in a Spanish country, give it some flavor and lots of seasoning.

Food and cocktails were flavorful and good quality. Spring rolls were really delicately flavored…way better than expected. Must visit. Sue our server took good care of us

The Chicken Nachos were really good. Added a extra side of sour cream & jalapeños. I didnt care for the Beef Taco tho.. didnt taste seasoned. Drink was good.

Such a disappointment! The reason for the one star is I feel like we were baited and switched. I ordered the pork plate which came with two sides. Sides were limited on the menu. I ordered rice and beans and onion rings as my two sides. Our server did not inform us that onion rings would be an additional price and I was charged for a specialty steak platter which was almost $6 more than the pork plate! If I had known I would’ve been charged for steak, I would have ordered steak. When we questioned her, she said the additional charge was for the 5 onion rings I received.They also advertised a fried chicken side for an additional $2. However, they claimed they did not have fried chicken and could substitute grilled chicken. Once the bill came, we saw the grilled chicken was almost double the price of the fried. Due to the incorrect menu prices, I would not recommend or return.Food was actually great other than it being cold. We had decent service.

This was one of the top places on our list of places to eat during our 2 week vaca. I’m glad we made it here! First, the staff was amazing! Best service we’ve received on the island. We ordered cappuccinos, a falafel sandwich with a side of fries, pulled pork sandwich, and fish tacos, both with sides of rice and beans. Everything was delicious!

I came here for dinner based on sight alone and I was not disappointed! I got the nachos while my companion got tacos, and we both had an excellent mojito. The covered patio was a nice reprieve from the late afternoon sun.

Excellent and affordable. Skirt steak tacos were among the best in San Juan. I loved their their guava take on a Moscow mule. And if youre into piña coladas, theirs is much better than most. The wait was totally normal for a weeknight in Condado. Definitely a place worth recommending.
