Ka Shing Chinese Restaurant - Chinese restaurant in Dublin, Ireland
Unfortunately we were sat next to the huge fish tank, which had a very unpleasant smell coming from it.Starter was nice.Mains were below standard.Service unfriendly.
Food was pretty good but the service was terrible and they were playing edm at noon plus it was overpriced for lunch
Food was okay, orders are done portions ...so not so economical for small group looking for variety. Clean with quick service
Authentic Cantonese food, nice taste like in HK. This is absolutely the right choice for enjoying Cantonese food in Dublin
Lovely meal. A little expensive but lacks customer service
Very bad dim sum, we ordered 4 dim sum and 3 were rancid. Very poor food, not recommended
Service excellent as alaways food best curry I ever tasted just as I like it I go there every 4 to 6 weeks with my friend
Absolutely brilliant service great service and friendly staff party of 5 and nothing was a problemThank youStuart ConnellEuro clutch and Gearbox specialist
Food was decent. Reasonably priced for City Centre location.Only slight concern was a bit of an odour within the restaurant.
Best freshest Chinese in Dublin. Lots of Asian people dining here which is always a good sign. The place was packed for Sunday late lunch. Food is delicious! Highly recommend it. Much more authentic than the high street chain eateries. We have been 4 times and every time it is as good as the last time!
The food is not bad but the staff is so rude. We went at 9pm and they ask us insistently to order because the kitchen was closing (the restaurant closes at 10pm), and as soon as we finished a dish they took away the plate without waiting for us to finish eating everything.
My worst experience of Cantonese cuisine and dimsum thanks to Ka Shing…1. They charge 1.5 per person for tea without a heads-up… which is unbelievable in other restaurants2. Food is not fresh.3. I ordered red bean soup (a dessert), as posted, it looks disgusting and tasted sour instead of sweet. The cake also tastes horrible
📣📣📣📣📣📣📣📣📣Avoid this place. There is a sneaky 10% service charge put on your bill. They automatically put green tea on the table and charge you regardless whether or not you want it..... Not to mention the sullen service and unprofessional manner.
Beautiful interior. Ordered 3 set meals from the lunch menu. Absolutely delicious 😋.
Tuesday afternoon, took 40 minutes before order takenDon’t come here if you’re hungryWay under staff
Thoroughly enjoyed our meal here. Plenty to choose from a wide selection on the menu, generous portions, reasonable price (although next time well go for the early bird before 6.30 pm). Accessible for eating but sadly no disabled access toilet facilities on the ground floor - if there had been, this would have gotten 5 stars.
Avoid at all costVery small portions I think they may have Counted the rice 3: slices of beef in a completely tasteless sauce.. the only thing they were good at is given an extremely overpriced bill never will I go here again.possibly the worst restaurant in Dublin
Probably one of the best tofu in the area and the Singapore fried rice was delectable! The staff also accommodated the request of modifying the food as per dietary preferences, great service!
Just WOW! Food is absolutely delicious 👌 Can highly recommend the chilli salt prawn appetiser... even ordered a second portion.
A wonderful experience of an old school Chinese restaurant, with large round tables, terribly bright lighting cheeky, tie-clad waiters and great, seemingly authentic dishes incorporating Cantonese and Hong-Kong-styles, along with the traditional Western favourites. Excellent dim sum and steamed fish. BYOB, if you ask them nicely!
This place is the combination of mediocre food, rude service and unreasonable price. I would personally never come back to this place again, if you are looking for good Cantonese Zou Cha i would recommend good world restaurant in Dublin.
Bad service, took them forever to come to my table when it’s not even a lot of people in the restaurant. Worst of all, I paid 10% service charge for something I didn’t receive? Food was below expectation. The beef rice rolls were tasting very weirdly, felt like I was eating raw beef and the stir fry beef hor fun had burnt taste. Overall, I will never come back here again
Third time visiting and the experience is been the same.very poor service, wasnt offered water while they did to other tables, ordered 3 drinks, 2 arrived. ordered starter first and 10mins later ordered mains but the mains arrived before starters. didnt complain but none of them came to check on us. My 10 yrs old son waited patiently to order dessert but no staff. so I decided to ask the bill myself and surprised with a 10percent service charge for a table of 2 (1adult-1childwhen I felt there was no service worth paying. If you want good Chinese food and good service go to parnell Street.
Did not enjoy my experience. The waitress rush me us to decide from a menu, that looks like a bible, less than a few minutes in the restaurant.I had to ask twice to give us more time. And she huffed away.Theres is definitely a different service level to each customer. The food itself wasnt the best, to be honey i was disappointes after hearing so much about it .Very plain , i got a special fried rice for 25 euros (i think. 100% not worth it .But the dumplings were very delicious cant complain.
The best dim sum place thus far in Ireland. Additionally the place/facilities have been kept clean. Theres a small aquarium close to the entrance to keep small children entertained.
Very nice food, attentive service and great location
Amazing food! Seemed very authentic. Went there for Dim Sum and they had a huge selection. All delicious and the staff were nice too. Great price as wel.
Went today to this restaurant with a friend. The place itself looked great, the starters were good, but the service was very poor, the staff was very rude all the time even while ordering ( i believe because we were probably the only westerners at the time, no water was offered while being offered to other tables, and my friend felt so unwelcome there that she asked to wrap the main course to take away just to no stay there any longer. Even at payment they were rude, we asked to split bills and the guy just took the card from my friend to charge the full amount and asked me to Revolut her, crazy insane. And after all this, they still charge 10% for the service. Dont recomend this place at all
Tasty. Exotic ambience. Reasonable prices as well. The staff forgot one of our multiple orders but it was good in general.
Sitting here after a fantastic lunch. 15 euro for lunch menu. Starters and mains. 6.90 lovely glass of wine. Staff are great always very attentive. We will.be back
Ka shing is always a good idea for Dim sum and good fried rice
I tried their Fish maw and crocodile soup which took 4 hours to prepare and cook .The best Cantonese Cuisine I had in Dublin.
Great food, really enjoyed it, I had the salt and chilli wings which are to die for and schechuan beef, it was really tasty!
Everything was just delicious. We ordered more than we could eat because portions were huge. For example we expected to get 4 dumplings but you actually get 8. Everything was absolutely tasty and rich. Definitely coming here again.
So tasty there!!! Its nice when you go in a group of 3 or more to share the dishes. At the end we just payed 15€ each and the food was so filling. For me its the best place where you can get traditionell Chinese food in Dublin. A lot of native Chinese people love this restaurant as well, so its a bit crowded at the weekend. Its a good idea to book a table or go directly after they have opened. Moreover the staff tell what would be nice to order as well, when shes checking what you ordered already. So nice! By the way I loved that egg fried rice.
Absolutely loved this place! After seeing people reviewing this place and their signature dish - sweet and sour king prawns special - i just had to go. We ordered loads of dishes to try a little bit of everything, and every single dish was amazing. The thing I liked the most was the atmosphere and staff. I felt like I can enjoy food in peace slowly, no one was rushing us, and the staff were just so helpful, nice and fast. I would recommend that you visit this completely amazing restaurant if you like chinese food because it was really really tasty...
A busy day for managers and chefs yesterday . Had mediocre food . Lacking in flavour for dips and dim sum . Worst experience of my culinary life with 3 staff being rude unprofessional and shouldn’t be at front of house!! If you’re happy to be treated rudely and laughed at knock yourself out.. They just want to cash-in and rush you through meal . Hope you’re luckier than my dining experience.
⭐️Best dim sum for a 2pm late lunch in Dublin City centre!⭐️-dim sum: hot, fresh, huge variety including some old school ones like ginger, pork knuckle and egg in dark vinegar 豬腳薑,❤️chives dumplings 韮菜餃、蝦餃and shrimp dumplings are with very fresh fillings(my favourite)❤️, wonton soup is a surprise as the soup is a REAL GOOD SOUP but not those watery transparent soup cube and wantons are fresh and juicy👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼-real good fried rice with wok aroma-CRISPY Cantonese barbecue pork belly and duck 😋😋😋-stirred fried four season beans are also recommended as it was spicy and flavourful fried , excellent to go with rice-tried once garlic steamed huge scallops with vermicelli another time and it was extremely tasty and fresh!Authentic Chinese/ Cantonese Dim Sum!Friendly service. All in all highly recommended.Dim sum might not be served in the later time in the evening you better call and ask if you are aiming for dim sum!
(4.5 starsVery pleased with the food and place. One of only three restaurants in Dublin that I have visited twice during my 2-week stay in Dublin and planned to return one more time for a few more dishes before I leave Ireland. Only have one photo to share because I finished the other dishes before I remembered to take pictures. Just added another photo from the last visit. In summary, the dim sum dishes were great. The combination fried rice was okay, the rice was too wet or/and oily.
Really enjoyed our family dinner here! The chicken and sweetcorn soup was amazing! Not too expensive either compared to other restaurants. Staff are lovely as well and great atmosphere. Food was very tasty. Cannot recommend this restaurant enough!! :)
We had to wait at least 10 minutes to get our orders in. Not only that, instead of taking our orders, the waiter handed us a pen and a piece of paper to write our orders ourselves. We had sat on our table for 30 minutes only then they brought the complimentary tea. We ordered dim sum and to be honest, it was not as good as people ought to think. It was subpar at most. I would like to think of a reason to go back but could not unfortunately. This place does not deserve my second chance. Terrible service coupled with subpar foods. What a "great" way to end the evening.
Really authentic Cantonese cuisine with lovely dim sum and lots of choices. They do take the COVID cert seriously. So make sure you bring it with you and be ready to present it.
Fantastic food and its real Chinese food, not that so called Chinese food you get in most places in Ireland. Takes me back to my days in Singapore Philippines, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
Absolutely delicious meal, I would highly recommend this place. Every that came out was amazing will definitely come back for more.
Excellent Chinese food, from dim sum, classic Chinese dishes plus the europeanized Chinese favorites like chicken curry .. so something for everyone.. friendly , clean .. loses 1 start for “smell” near stairs & the 10%service change.. I would rather tip waiter/ waitress directly
This place used to have excellent dim sum and I wanted to have their pork bun because it was delicious but when I came here a month ago I couldn’t believe this was served. Not baked, flat, and had icing sugar dusted on top? Nothing like it’s supposed to be. And the custard burn was smaller than size my palm with below average filling. Really quite unacceptable.
Very good authentic dim sum and Cantonese cuisine. Im from Hong Kong so I know
Came in for dinner. Authentic Chinese cuisine in the heart of Dublin. First time trying and Ill definitely come back for more. I will love to give their dim sum a try next. We got their roast platter which they served with my favourite plum sauce. No roast duck is complete without plum sauce! :)
Traveling in Scotland and Ireland for a week from Hong Kong, truly missed the home food. The food quality here is at the similar level as back home so I would say it’s authentic. People are friendly and service is efficient.
Excellent and authentic Cantonese food. I might be biased because I currently live in Cleveland, where the Chinese restaurants are practically hate crimes, but the hefen in particular really reminded me of HK/Guangdong.Service was quick and efficient, though the restaurant wasnt at full capacity so I cant say if thats always the case. It was friendly too, I think? I didnt really pay much attention because its a Chinese restaurant, not a TGI Fridays.
