This is the third time we have dine here.Not been for a while since the pandamic.Must say Fantastic Fresh food with Lovely rich flavours.We had Mixed platter followed by Chicken Kottu and Pork Devil.Saffron rice and coconut beard.All Lovely.Me and my partner both enjoyed the New IPA They had for offer. Have enjoyed in the past, now on its last legs...no tuna, had chicken which was tough and bread greasy and unedible. Sad to see the decline.

Absolutely wonderful restaurant. The design of the place is lovely and unique. The staff member who served us was lovely and very informative of a cuisine that was unfamiliar and the food....oh the food. Delicious! Full of flavours, well presented and the portion sizes are just right. Highly recommended

Great, friendly service. The staff give really good recommendations. The food is so tasty, with a punch. This is one of the restaurants that neither vegan nor meateater leave feeling like they got the afterthought in the menu. Good value wine too.

Visited last night as a couple, I was astounded by the quality of the food, every dish was bursting with flavour. Definitely the tastiest food in Macclesfield. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the value for money was exceptional. Well done Kandy we will return.

Came here for dinner last night with friends, one being vegan and one vegetarian.Soooo much choice and it all sounded AMAZING! ❤️The mixed vegan platter for starters was amazing, so much flavour and just delicious. The staff were so friendly and helpful.Next time were back in Macclesfield, we will definitely be back! Thank you!!

First time trying Sri Lankan food, and it was great. So many delicious new flavours. Highly recommend the fish curry and the Devil dish. Friendly, helpful staff, relaxed ambience. Will be visiting again soon.

Eaten here twice - Delicious and authentic Sri Lankan food, great and super friendly service and lots of gluten free options suitable for Coeliacs - including popodums, curries, noodles, rice, stir fries, dosa breads and lentil cakes - and a vegan and gluten free cheesecake for dessert. Will return :D

Very accomodating,got let down by another restaurant for a friends birthday but they found us a table, granted,it was early so not a problem.Sri Lankan with a vegan heavy menu but with a meat/fish option for most dishes, would try again definitely.

Outstanding food, so much flavour. Traditional Sri Lankan dishes, desserts and drinks. Knowledgeable, friendly staff and very reasonably priced. Cant rate it highly enough, a very nice find in the centre of Macclesfield.

Went here for dinner last night and had a really brilliant evening! The food is fantastic, we went to Sri Lanka on our honeymoon and it made us feel like we were back there. Our waitress was fantastic too, so friendly and helpful with the menu. They cook everything fresh so you can pick your spice level which is good. And their covid measures are spot on, we felt very safe whilst we were there. Already cant wait to go back!

This place is absolutely amazing. I had never tried Sri Lankan food before, but oh wow have I been missing out! Food is freshly cooked and full of authentic flavours. Staff are nice and helpful. Very accomodating and happy to explain each dish as well as adjust the spice/heat. Definitely the best place for anyones dinner plans around here!!!

Waited quarter of an hour to be asked if we wanted a drink. The drink turned up ten minutes later with dirty glasses. Then was asked if we wanted popadoms whilst we waited. These turned up 10 minutes later, at which point I asked for the chutney and if we could order. Five minutes later, after chasing, the chutney turned up, but still no one to take my order. I walked out. I left them the £6 for the bottle of beer we had, don’t think I should have bothered

We visited on a Wednesday. The restaurant is just under a kilometre from the visitor moorings for those coming from the canal.The food here was amazing, and its well worth a visit.The tuna meatballs with chutney and the lamb kothu were particular highlights for me. We had the tuna as part of a mixed sharing starter and the lamb chop was also worth a mention. We also had chicken string hoppers, with bread and rice which was good.The food is cooked to order, so you can choose your spice level. This does mean that you should be prepared for a little wait. Service was good; friendly and efficient.Why only 4; whilst the tables/seating area was clean, more attention was needed on the stairs leading to and the cleanliness of the ladies toilet.

Beautiful dining room. Lovely attentive staff and delicious food thats very authentic and morish. Portion sizes are perfect but felt some of the prices were a bit steep.

Had a great night in Kandy tonight. Sharon the waitress was lovely and explained everything to us, genuinely knew the menu inside out.I would recommend going in here with an open mind and having something that they recommend rather than something you think you know. You will be pleasantly surprised.I will definately going back for the vegan buffet next Wedneaday. I wouldnt normally ignore the vegan options out of principal but we had the vegan starters and they were stunning.Just go and try it!!!

Me and a couple of my friends had food at Kandy last week and it was great. The staff were genuinely so nice and spent time explaining things to us (when we asked what something was she even showed us pictures!). We are vegan and there were lots of options, the food was genuinely so tasty and it was cool to go somewhere a bit different. I would recommend it to anyone!

The food was extremely delicious, we tried and shared several of the vegan options and every single thing was incredible. The waitress was lovely and had a great knowledge of the food. The atmosphere was nice and the food was served promptly. Could not recommend KANDY enough and will certainly be returning.

I would highly recommend Kandy. The staff are incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming. The food is fantastic- there are a large range of dishes on the menu all of which can be ordered at your preferred spice level, everything tastes incredibly fresh and well flavored and there are plenty of vegan, gluten free and meat options to cater for all. I have visited Kandy 3 times now and everything I have tried has been delicious in its own unique way. I also organised a work event for 3 courses for 15 people and everybody was incredibly happy with both the quality, service and organisation. Thank you for all the delicious food so far and I look forward to visiting again :)

Went with 9 of my work colleagues. Food quality is excellent and with authentic Sri Lankan taste. Also you can get Sri Lankan brand drinks like elephant house ginger beer, orange barley ,cream soda, lion beer. (Unfortunately the cream soda was out of stock on the day we visited.I got chicken rolls as the starters and it was excellent.Had string hoppers with curry and sambal as main meal. Only downside is the portion size of the main meal was bit smaller for my liking. Hoped they had bigger size string hoppers or at least 10 string hoppers. Anyway my friends who ordered chicken kottu seems to be happy with their portion size. Restaurant was not crowded and service seems to be okay. Toilets are clean and well maintained. There are several council car parks within walking distance, so parking is not an issue. Although the prices are bit towards expensive side, for authentic Sri Lankan food this place is highly recommended.

We really enjoyed our first trip to Kandy. Highly attentive service, warm restaurant and atmosphere and an extensive menu with lots of unusual choices which suited meat lovers, dish lovers and Vegans alike. We will be back.

My 3rd time eating here. Normally just selecting off the menu which always has me excited at the very different dishes and flavors on offer. This trip however was for the Vegan buffet night. Such great value for money and the opportunity to try lots of new flavors and foods I would never normally go for.My 10yr old daughter really enjoyed the foods on offer and the variety.Overall, a wonderful place that adds a very new dimension to a wide range of dining choices in macclesfield and makes its own unique place that should be visited and frequently too!Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff always add to ensure your experience leaves you happy.

Was looking forward to a Sri Lankan experience but no such thing. Although the restaurant was nearly empty having been told no table available until 9pm. We still had to wait for our meal. My chicken curry contained of mixed peppers and chunks of dry processed chicken. My husband ordered King Prawns, which were tiny little ones obviously, out of a packet and not fresh as expected. Very disappointing will not be returning

The food is delicious and the staff are very lovely and attentive. The vegan buffet is a must for a mid-week treat. The food can get very spicy!

Great vegan options. Desert (Jack fruitwas disappointing, just the fruit straight of the can put on the plait. But staff very friendly and taking their time to explain anything thats unclear.

Consistently delicious food, great service, relaxed & informal atmosphere. Clean, unpretentious surroundings. Definitely worth the 28 mile round trip every month for the vegan buffet with friends and family. I love the place! 😍

Delicious home cooked food and unusual drinks. The menu was explained to us as we were new to Sri Lankan food. Cant recommend highly enough if you fancy something different from the norm.

Friendly, competent service, readily available to explain and recommend from the menu. Note to the wise: a "medium" here is a hot in your usual Indian restaurant.Every dish was beautiful and so flavoursome. Cooked perfectly. I had jack fruit for the first time and it was amazing! Reminded me of pulled pork.Was spoilt for choice so I guess Ill have to come back!

I love the food at Portobello Macclesfield. There is a varied menu and caters for everyone - vegan, vegetarian and meat dishes. Looking forward to the vegan buffet next week. Lovely delicious and different tasting dishes which are a joy to eat.

Amazing organic food expertly cooked! Highly recommend the vegan buffet on the last Wednesday of every month, I thoroughly enjoyed the vegetable fritters and their wide range of curries. They expertly demonstrate how the Shri lanken cuisine differs from other Asian counterparts. Fits perfectly into the Macclesfield high street.

I went to this restaurant on last Saturday. they offered many verities of Sri Lankan delicious foods. The best thing is their flavours. These flavours are exactly same as Sri Lankan foods. This the best restaurant in uk to enjoy your foods with very friendly staff.

Me and my wife went to Portobello macc Sri Lankan restaurant while we are in UK for a Holiday. The best food I had on our Holiday. Really freshly made and full of flavours. We were really happy with all the choices we had. Excellent service too. We will be visiting here on our next holiday. Highly recommend.

The food was brilliant, amazing flavours but a bit lacking in heat. Decent prices. We were told this place has been open for a few months. The food seems very authentic and the actually have jackfruit curry and dessert. I will be going back if I am in the area again. My only negative point was that the lighting was blue and pink, a bit dark for me. I was hoping to enjoy the colours of the food a bit more but no biggy. The Waitress (owner?Was really lovely and had knowledge of the food being prepared.They have special deals for vegan buffer type things on the last weekend of the month. Brilliant idea.
