KAMALA HOTEL & RESTAURANT in Handiā

Hotel is located in Kamala beach which is very crowded. After storm which happend 5 days ago beach is very dirty as well. Ive never seen such dirty beach in my travel life. The situation which surprises me is that the hotel staff is not cleaning the beach at all and its very dangerous to be there, there are some glasses and some boards with nails there. As well there is walking road near this hotel which is cleaned from the sand in all other part of the beach except the part near two 4 stars fancy hotels.

The hotel is a bit far from the central area and there are no free shuttles like in most resorts.The last night there was a flood at the hotel and the hotel electricity was off for more than 12 hours (until we leftand no alternative was offered. it was not possible to take a hotel taxi because they say the road was blocked but there was another road.Luckily there is a Bolt otherwise we would have been stuck in the flooded hotel.The massage at the complex was excellent and not expensive.

Right now, 16/10/22, the hotel is floded and there is no electricity (was like this most the night and no generator backup), no idea why the booking option is still open, dont book...They didnt offer us any transportation to other hotel...

Amazing hotel. Everything is perfect and right on Kamala Beach. You can reach the town through the beach and fanatsea phuket is walking distance. Four large swimming pools and enough space for everyone. Hospitality at its best.

I have been traveling a lot and stayed many hotels, Sunprime Kamala Beach is the first hotel that I appreciated a lot. Location is good for relax, all staffs are greeting with smiles and nice services. Also can check in early and check out late ( if they have available rooms)

I stay there in August Great location Next to the beach Really love the character of the hotel The rooms were clean, very comfortable, and the staff was amazing. The restaurant was fantastic the view of sunset from restaurant Is amazing and stuff was friendly and helpful especially I remember one name of member staff Natasha Great attitude, helpful and always available, She knows what hes doing there She even recommend me food To eat and all of them was delicious I wanna tell her to thank you to make my Stay in hotel even better. I will recommend that hotel to anyone who wants to spend nice holiday in Phuket. Definitely I will go back there.Staff Its really friendly and makes customer feel welcome.

Had the pleasure of spending 2 weeks at this gorgeous hotel in Aug 2022 for our 1st year wedding anniversary ❤The hotel and grounds are amazing and kept in immaculate condition by the staff, who all work so hard.The rooms are spacious and well presented, air conditioning is amazing, we stayed in room 2217 and had a partial view of the beautiful seafront. Huge bed, lots of storage space for clothes, an iron and ironing board were in the room, which helps on creased clothing from suitcase packing!!There are several pools around the complex, would like to say a big thank you to Lee at the restaurant by the sea pool bar who made our stay even better....friendly, chatty and full of smiles.A big thank you to all the staff from reception, housekeeping and the restaurant/bars...we have never been made to feel so welcome and never seen anyone smile as much as you all did....Thailand really is the land of smiles 😃See you all next year 🙏

Loved the place. If you want calm and beach side property, its a perfect choice but its slightly far from Bangla street and it her happening places

The staff at Sunprime Kamala Beach go out of their way to make your stay extra special. From the restaurant staff to the reception staff, to the housekeeping staff. Everyone was concerned about our comfort each and every day of our stay. No request was too small for the staff to attend to and every request was met cheerfully and with enthusiasm. A special mention to the ladies at front reception, each and every receptionist was brilliant and you really made our stay feel special. We hope to return in the future!

Definitely a 4 star hotel the staff while super friendly and accommodating needs a tad bit more attention to detail (its a super minor nitpick and would be warranted if this were a higher star hotel). The view is to die for and the food is decent as far as hotel food goes .

In my opinion this is the best option in Kamala, if you ask for the seafront bungalows you will have a pool just for yourself and the palms and beach are just 30 metres away. Anyway all rooms are nice.

Perfect place to relax.. close to beach and the nice beachy restaurants that are a close walk. The food at the hotel was great too. The only negative was our shower water in the family room was very smelly. They tried to flush the system but it didnt improve much. Hopefully they fix this.

Great staff, all were totally individual and let their personalities shine. Service standards were high, with a smile. The on-site massage was great, and very well priced.Highly recommend this place

Right on the beach with clean water and beaches. Excellent service and meals. Clean comfortable rooms. Balcony to sit on. Water sports if you like or just lazy days at the pool and beach. Outside the hotel there are small restaurants and shops, also massage, but the prices at the hotel are competitive.

Sunprime Kamala Beach Resort is our go to accomodation when visiting Phuket for the last 10 years. Situated right on Kamala Beach away from the hustle and bustle of Patong. Wonderful helpful staff, great food and entertainment, four glorious pools, gym and massage. A short walk to lots of great beach bars and restaurants. All of the staff here at Sunprime Kamala Beach from reception ( Hilda 🙏to the evening bar (Ton 🙏), the breakfast and the massage staff went over and beyond my expectations. The Kamala Beach Hotel of Subprime is situated in the best location directly on Kamala Beach. All the services and staff are very professional. I really enjoy being here for 7 days as an SHA+ guest. The hotel organized the transfer and booked all the required tests and made an automatic refund ofall extra cost including the vaccine when the stay was reduced from 14 to 7 days. What else can you expect? For me absolute ☆☆☆☆☆ I can really recommend this hotel!

Just returned from Sunprime Kamala Beach Resort.We had a lovely 2 weeks and found the hotel perfect. From staff at reception to cleaning and restaurant staff, everyone was friendly and keen to help. The breakfast was great as was the food in the restaurant.Good size room with a very large double bed and nice view over the pools.Just meters from the beach and close to bars and restaurants. We hired a scooter and travelled all over the island from top to bottom. The hotels location is great to be able to get to other areas.Steven

Best location with 2 pools, both right on a beautiful section of Kamala Beach, one pool has a swim up pool bar. The restaurant right on the beach serves amazing food at very reasonable prices. The staff takes care of you with a big smile while serving delicious cocktails by the pool. You cannot pick a better place to stay in Kamala. You are walking distance to all of the great restaurants and nightlife of Kamala.

Top Service, very friendly Staff, Clean Hotel, you can be at the beach in few minutes, to be around in the city KAMALA is also not far away, a lot of bars around the HOtel where you can also eat cheap and great food. if you like Massage, this will be a perfect places around the hotel you can get it .......Regarding the Beach, the Hotel is perfect loacted, you can walk around the beach..... Really NICE!!!

Visited between lockdowns so the hotel was a little deserted, however it was still a very pleasant stay and the staff were very attentive and friendly good score for service level.Rooms were large nicely decorated and the beds comfortable with decent AC.The hotel facilities were well maintained despite the low guest numbers.The breakfasts were excellent and were served for a long period of the morning which was also great.The hotel opens directly onto the beach at the back from where you can easily get to the "town" if you go left or to a small strip of restaurants/ bars on foot.

Fantastic service and really beautiful resort right on the beach. Bed was not very comfortable and air con wasnt working properly. The breakfast was also pretty bland and low quality for such a nice resort. The coffee was especially bad.

Very clean resort, very friendly staff, extreme cleanliness, perfect restaurant with well-mannered and courteous staff, very large swimming pool, and above all the sea facing the Resort. Kudos to the manager for the facility

Staff where fantastic, nothing too much trouble, choice of restaurants al a carte or buffet. I went in November 2018 with Saga 71st Birthday treat was All Inclusive and the Rep Thom was the best Id ever known. Going back this November 2019 for my 72nd, no doubt I will get another bottle of bubbly and an enormous cake. Rooms spotless and cleaned thoroughly. there is also a doctors surgery and nurse on duty, also a small shop and Gym. If you have younger family with kids who want to travel too, there is a family hotel attached, same owners.

It is peaceful, quiet and serene. The beach is first class. The staff are always welcoming and friendly. And the prices are fairly reasonable for a resort of this stature. Id come back again any day.

Its a bit worn out after our last visit 4yrs ago but the menu improved! They have elevator now and the service is better. Breakfast is amazing! Rooms are still comfortable than other 4 star hotels in Thailand. The minimart on the other hand is 5 mins early, the sign says they close at 9PM in fact they close at 8:55. A bit pricey but we enjoyed the food and specially the pool, i think there are 4 huge pools. The non smoking one is our fave!

Clean and comfortable. Lovely beach and 4 swimming pools very well maintained. Good food with a variety of take-away as well. Quiet location with bus available to Patong for small charge. Will definitely return from Perth Australia.

Staff was super friendly and willing to help at any time. Pools and surrounding clean, Beach in front was cleaned every morning. Room in main building big and always cleaned. Food and drinks were always fresh and tasty. I recommend this hotel.

Was very nice, the hotel is real quite and in the area are some nice restaurants, so we did like the facility, and hope that someday we are going to visit it again.

I am currently staying here on holiday, staff are wonderful always happy and eager to deliver a wonderful service. The room is very comfortable with a good view of the sea, lovely to hear the waves breaking late at night. The restaurant with buffet breakfast could not be better, also all other meals are excellent. I recommend this beach resort hotel as a place to stay while in Phuket

I do not recommend this resort. We stayed with them 5 nights and they ruined our holiday in Thailand. We saw very big bugs in the room, reported it to reception and they did not take any action. The rooms are not cleaned well, the towels were not changed daily (they changed our towels after 3 days after we made complaints at the reception).Additionally, the food is not good, we got food poisoning after the first meal at the resort. We talked with other hotel guests and they also got food poisoning because of their food. Stay away from this hotel!

Nice beach for the all family. Its guards there to watch its safe all the time. And its a lot of activities to do there, like driving water scooter, paragliding and stuff. We did try water scooters. No problem. The fastest of them did go 110km/h. And its easy to ride. Recomend everyone to try. Its very fun :)

We stayed a Kamala Beach Resort - Sunprime Resort for our last 4 nights of our holiday and I would have to say I was really impressed with the overall stay!I read a lot of... Let’s say ‘whingey’ comments in reviews and was a little concerned about my decision to stay at Sunprime. From the moment we were greeted at checkin it was super smooth sailing! Staff were really friendly and very helpful on checkin.We arrived at our room, it was a large room, very clean, really comfy bed and bedding, air con worked really well and was super quiet to sleep, nice verandah over looking the pool and gardens and bathroom was really well kept. Yes.. this is an older hotel but we were really impressed with how well kept the resort was.Pools were beautiful and fresh towels for the beach or pool were ready available from I think 9am-5pmBreakfast was GREAT! Happy, friendly and helpful staff busily making sure tables were quickly cleaned and ready. There was a really great selection and the quality of the food was great.The resort has a mini-mart near reception, this is a huge bonus! And... the prices are pretty much the same as the street and in some cases even better!The resort will organise a taxi service for you, we had a taxi ready to go for our trip back to the airport and the price was on par with the lowest price we found.Ordering food for room service was what we thought, great quality and price was VERY reasonable for an on beach resort.The resort is really well placed, local bars and restaurants are a short walk away.The resort also has a doctor on site. Didn’t use the service but what a great idea!Yes... it’s s big resort and walking from the furthest room to breakfast is a bit of a walk, I read reviews where people whinged about the rainy season walk to breakfast 🤷‍♂️ it’s mostly undercover if you use your brain. And there’s umbrellas in the room. Honestly... some people just whinge!Overall Kamala Beach Resort is a really good stay! I don’t recall having one issue during our stay. Great work, you guys are doing a great job!

Great hotell right at the beach. Sun beds in the quiet garden and then just 30 seconds to the ocean. Two gyms, one with treadmills and view out over the ocean. Great if travelling without kids. Some small and nice restaurants along the beach nearby.

I was having a lunch at the resorts cafe. Free wifi when you order. Loved that they offer local food, Thais traditional dishes and ales found something for vegan options like this delicious fruit plate. Not too price either. For bonus exactly on the shore with such a beautiful view and friendly stuff.

Nothing to complain in this hotel: very friendly staff, nice rooms, good food and close to the beach (yes, it is possible to swim there, although the sea is quite rough in rainy season). Awesome choice of four pools and very good choice of buffet breakfast ranging from bread and pancakes to omelette, soups, salads and fruits. Unfortunately more western than Asian choices, but that reflects the guests. Mostly German and Russian tourists. With more tourists in high season it would be too packed for my taste, but very relaxing in low season. I would recommend to book the deluxe room, since the terrace rooms are more cellar-like (although nicely furnished and clean!), but smell moldy. Free table tennis and darts next to one of the two restaurants, but pool table costs 40 baht.

Just spent a week here on my honeymoon, and everything about this place was exceptional! I especially loved the swim up bar in the pool, and they made the best pina colada and strawberry daquiris Ive tasted! Its literally right on the beach, and there are shops and restaurants within walking distance so you dont really have to go far for shopping and meals on the days you want to take it easy and stick around the hotel. The he room service is great, the seafood pizza is a must try! The hotel restaurant is great as well! Would definitely visit again. Thank you for an awesome honeymoon!

Great relaxing location. Not too busy but not too far from the nightlife. Eating in the village was great, and the tailors in the area have great quality product. Beach massages were a great way to start the day too. Very happy with this hotel from all perspectives. Will come back again if I ever get the chance

Comfortable rooms, very clean throughout the hotel, convenient services (laundry, shuttle, maid, room service, etc), nice facilities, and two sweet swim up bars out of a handful of different pools. Also, backs up to the beach for easy access, and a great complimentary breakfast buffet.

We came here for our anniversary. Got lovely flowers on the bed spelling out happy anniversary with hearts. Staff are friendly and helpful. Prices are more than reasonable. You are literally right next to the beach. The room is very comfortable. Would recommend to a friend

An absolutely dreamy vacation spot with unbelievable access to many different pools , one with a swim up bar. One extremely nice feature is that the resort is split into two with families who have kids occupying the one side while singles and couples take the other - there are private pools for each. Thus if looking for a child free holiday this is more than ideal. The restaurant food is delicious and of a high standard and the staff are simply wonderful. Would highly recommend!

For European standard a very good 3 star hotel. We only booked with breakfast . The breakfast was buffet with a good variety of many things . It was also possible to eat dinner & evening meals in the hotel . At competitive prices. But also the opportunity within a 15 minute walk to go out to local restaurants.

Nice place. Research the on and off peak and weather before you go. Staff are friendly and helpful. Location is a little bit of a walk. But after the massive breakfast, you need it. Renovations were being done for the on peak season, and boy did they need it. Dont swim when the red flags are out.

Stayed here for a few days. Had a good time, staff very helpful and rooms large! Lots of pools to choose from. 4 in total, plus the beach.Great free WiFi coverage.No kids under 13 allowed, so could be a yay or nay for you.

An excellent hotel staffed by some of the most friendliest and helpful staff I have ever encountered.The rooms are clean spacious and all have an excellent view of either one of the many pools or the sea.From the doorman, receptionists to the cleaners and restaurant staff, all made you welcome and greeted you with a smile and traditional Thai greeting.Some public parts of the had a few minor problems with leaks at the time but that was because we did go in the Monsoon season and the resourceful staff did their best to fix and alleviate the problems as soon as possible, whenever the heavens opened. After seeing the power of rain in the monsoon season I was surprised to see so few problems.The hotel leads straight onto a lovely beach, which unfortunately probably due to the season had ‘No swimming’ flags up most of the time, but at least the local the surfers loved it.There is a shuttle service twice a day to Patong beach just along the coast where the restaurant and bars and nightlife are on a much bigger and noisier level. Even the taxi charge there and back is cheap.They have an excellent gym and regular Yoga, aerobics and zumba classes to keep the health conscious happy.If you want a relaxing and scenic resort with easy access to a more hedonistic nightlife just a few miles away then this place comes highly recommended.
