6400 Sierra Ct Suite B, Dublin, CA 94568, United States, Castro Valley
Chain of indoor racing centers featuring electric go-karting for all ages & skill levels, plus food.
My son and I walked in on a Saturday afternoon; I figured it would be busy, but there appeared to be multiple parties along with other walk-ins who wanted to race, so the staff had their hands full. Despite the long wait time from check-in until we were able to race, the staff was courteous, helpful, and handled everything professionally.
We had a company event here - the expectations of everyone having fun were low as it was most of our first times. But they were fabulous, and we had an unexpectedly amazing time! Thank you for this! We needed it after a long year! Staff were phenomenal!
K1 is awesome!! Treated family and friends to our sons 15th birthday there at K1. Was a great experience for everyone!!!
As we were racing they kept stopping us and I was just really confused and it wasn’t much fun unfortunately. And we should be able to at least race twice with the amount they charge
Horrible experience at my son’s birthday party. Made us wait for 45 minutes after each race and kept saying that it will be 15min wait every time we asked. Rude staff. Will never go again @K1 Dublin
Not recommended to come here if you don’t reserve as a party. The wait is long, there’s no reservations, and then the track operators didn’t include our kids in the junior race after we waited 2.5 hours. We left with two very disappointed kids.
It was a pretty good experience, but the b-day pack only has 2 rounds. Also, you can easily get hurt if you are not careful. I think it was an awesome experience.
Wife surprised me on our date night and brought me here. She told me the wait time might be long but she had planned the night in case worst case had to race at midnight (god bleed this woman!she knew my love and passion for motor sports well. Even if we had to wait hanging out in that ambiance was amazing. Loved all the racing pictures and paintings, racing seats, and race car parts decorating the walls. The food was ok, and there were theee or four different bday parties but they weren’t obnoxious or annoying. We paid for two races each, which is kinda pricey but what isn’t now a days.we figured we might not get both in that night, but the. We were told wait time was 30 min and then 15 minutes after that for the second race. We couldn’t believe it. But sure enough after 30 minutes we were called. Fitted helmets and were explained the rules and procedures. The we raced! And when the first race was over we were instantly called into the next race group. The cars are fun and electric and can be controlled by the staff. Don’t worry if they keep you from catching the driver ahead of you, it’s not a track position race, it’s a race against the clock. Cars are different to drive to get the most speed out of them, I was trying to drive like a Normal car but was going super slow, wasn’t until the third lap a guy with racing gloves whizzed pasted me in a corner and I watched him the next few, and that’s when I saw he never touched his brakes. So I decided to try that and had to man Handel the kart through the corners but I got a lot of speed out of the kart and finished second 1.3 seconds behind race gloves guy.Overall it was a fun and surprising experience. We got there at 3:45pm on a Saturday and left at 5 after two races , hanging out, and watching some junior races.Only thing that kinda bothered me was the amount of range in experience per race. there’s guys that were walking in with their own race helmets, gloves, and shoes, might as well worn a fire suit to complete the look. In one race these guys were super fast and I was able to keep up but it made my wife look like she was putting around and she had no fun in that race. The second race there was a group of teenage girls or at least acted like it and where crashing and bumping everyone they could, the race was slowed and then it was stopped at which point they slowed their karts because on the restart they were slow and couldn’t get near any body. But I still took a hard hit from one.Overall it was a fun and enjoyable experience, we would love to do it again but due to the pricing and over an hour drive from the Central Valley we probably won’t return very often.
Its fun for fit, die hard racers but not enjoyable for the rest. It was chaotic and disorganized and we got there right when they opened.
The staff went above and beyond to make this first experience for my13y/o ASD son on his birthday amazing! He enjoyed so much and I shed some tears of joy and proudness! Thank you!
K1 speed Fairfield was an amazing experience! Staff was friendly. The manager Christian was great in explaining the rules and helping us enjoy our time at k1 speed. I would highly recommend going for a great experience and fun time.
went to K-1 to get gift cards but staff said that the system was down so i order on line. I bought my 10 year old granddaughter a race and she love it .
Unpleasant experience from manager Angela. She created her own new rules that she was not able to prove. Angela was not knowledgeable on how to assist customers and provide cards. Angela showed me on the door when I didnt want to engage in argument with her. We decided not to race on this day. Angela definitely turned us away from K1 Racing.
Had an amazing time. Employee Wesley even stopped everything when I reported my Cochlear Implant was lost on the track. It was found thank goodness
Very fun time. If youve never raced go karts, understand that theres no power steering. Your arms will likely be sore the next day. These electric karts seem zippier than the gas karts. So much fun!
This would have been a 5 star, but I feel like the check in process is way too complicated and took way too long. The staff was very accommodating but did seem to a little frustrated trying to get out party of 4 adults and 3 juniors settled. Overall we had a great time and thankful for the staff and all their help.
Always call and ask if they have private events if you are a walk-in. They don’t list them on their website so they turned me away and said I could back 2 hours later. I had taken the day off for my birthday to go racing for the first time and was unable too.
So much fun. We came for a8 year old party (which the kids did great atand then the parents had a race. These new electric cars are much better than the old gas ones that were smelly and loud. It’s also much safer since they have a global kill switch to shut all the cars down in the event of a massive collisionI also liked that this place let us race with as little as 3 racers so we didn’t have to race with strangers. We had lots of fun and will definitely come back soon
We had a blast and everyone was so nice! Even was placed in car 27 which made the day extra special. I did not request this car it was spontaneously assigned to me 😜🥹. We still have not received all our videos yet though but I’m sure we will.
The wait time for general admission racing is open ended; you cant reserve over the phone or online because its first come first serve. Youll never know how long you have to wait until you check in in person. Once we ended up waiting more then 4 hours for junior racing for my 8yr old. I hope they make it better.
Worst experience ever! We tried calling to set up a reservation for a party we were on hold for 2 hours and then they hung up on us. Since we didnt want to do that again we decided we were going to wing it and go there. They ended up placing an expert in our first timer group, he was so aggressive and ended up running into multiple drivers in our group, including myself the second time he ran into me he hit me so hard I bit my tongue and made me bleed. They had signs everywhere saying not to bump into the go carts why werent the employees saying anything to him?? Not only were we not briefed before our race started the employees were no help with this guy. We ended up complaining about this guy to the front desk and we were basically told it was our fault for not making a reservation. Save your money and go ANYWHERE else unless you want body aches and a bad taste in your mouth literally.
The guys in Dublin did an outstanding 👏 👌 🙌 job!!!. The manager Bob was very attentive to our needs. He and the staff did a wonderful job catering to me and my family 👪 creating an awesome 👌 experience!!!! I would also like to mention the great help I received from Michael Cummings in corporate planning the event. All in all it was great experience and great service all around. Thank you, we plan do something in the near future with you.
We took the private event (qualifying + racefor a group of 8. One of the car was damaged and kept stopping in-between which led to multiple crashes. One of the crash was bad and the driver had to quit at the end of lap 1 itself. The staff was very very rude and did not offer any type of compensation. The race in itself was very slow, they kept reducing the speed of all cars remotely, we barely got 2 laps with full speed. Worst experience.
unfortunately i and 4 of my coworkers had a bad experience. We showed up and purchased 3 races a piece, wait times where 2 hours but shortly parties started coming and leaving and no arrangements for us to race. we ended up asking for our money back and leaving very disappointed after 3 hours and we didnt race, Jason the manager was disconnected and dismissive, didnt care.
There were 5 in my group, riding on a Wednesday night, that was relatively slow. Staff explained track rules, and how cars worked and how to request higher speed while racing. I am coming back again soon with another group.
Great! Fast karts (even for an adult that likes speed). Karts stick well to the floor, theyre quiet since they are electric. There are tons of karts so they can be loading up a group while another is racing. Kid sized karts for any kid 48" or taller. Overall a great experience.
It was my first time visitingK-1. My grandkids enjoyed the experience very much. It was little pricey if you have to pay an annual membership fee. Thanks
Dislike first come first serve. No online reservation. Called ahead, was told 1-2hr wait. Arriving after 40 min drive, was informed its a 4 hr wait for 2 pilots. Menu is not updated. Many items not available. There has to be a better system.
It was fun! But let’s talk serious about this place…Everyone knows it’s not that cheap, but they’re a company, so the experience needs to be 100%.Place it’s nice, a huge parking lot and restaurant, including a really nice lounge with pool table. But we came in a sunday, we could see it wasn’t busy at all. We got there and the staff told my party the waitlist it was above 3 hours waiting. Ok, we went to get our lunch and come back later. Finally we got back and damn, it was so funny (again). We had a lot girls/womans at the same party and everyone enjoyed a lot. But some karts needs some repairs, pedals brakes not to easy to press and it was heavy, kinda slack though. Some helmets it wasn’t cleaned up and smelling bad, not even the foams to protect was there. Some tires looked so old and worn out, but it’s ok. We understand it’s for fun, not to race a championship. My 4 stars it’s all about SOME staff member’s, they’re not friendly at all, but most of them took a good care of us.I would recommend and go back with reservation easily.
Super fast go karts, and more legit than any other go kart place I have been to. But the wait times for a race are pretty long, I had to wait 2 hours to race with just 2 other friends. Overall best go kart place Ive been to.
Driving was ok but the wait was ridiculously long. They said about an hour and it was over 2. They need to have a system that tells you an ETA so could leave and come back. Im sure the business model is build for you to stick around and play video games or eat a hotdog but...
Experience was excellent here. The lobby area is full of tables made from wheels, an F1 or Indy car up front, food and beer. A lot of fun to have a team building setup. The go-karts are all electric too so you don’t have too much noise.I do find the price to time on the track a little lacking. From 12-15 laps, 3 sessions, about 20-22 seconds a lap, you’re out there maybe 10 minutes. It’s great, a lot of fun, and the price is understandable cause of go-karts tire costs and all thatSome of their karts are beat up, I know one I got on pulled hard to the left, which was not fun, but otherwise it was fine. If the Karts were all up to 100% quality wise honestly I would have given it a 5 star. Just some of the Karts being beat up pushed it down a star. I get it though, these karts are used daily. 100% recommend going! They also have a juniors league for younger drivers, so almost anyone can enjoy.
Terrible experience. The whole business model / booking system needs reviewing.I called 2 days beforehand to talk to someone, but the line was "too busy" and instructed me to look on the website.I made a reservation request under 4 people as an event (there was a drop downthrough the website. When I arrived, the employees had no idea what a reservation request was, and asked me to repeat myself 3 times ("Reservation West?"). After 20 minutes of waiting, they finally came to help and said that, despite having a selection dropdown on the website, you cannot make a request under 4 people, and that it was only a request. To be clear, there was no follow up call or email after I submitted the form. The 4 of us drove all the way from South SF only to find out we had to wait 3 hours for the next race.Nice job.
[Review based off experience from 2017-Jan 19, 2020]I used to come to this K1 location an almost unhealthy amount of times to the point of employees knowing me by name, and I was able to seek out which karts were faster based off tire wear and other wear and tear. I can honestly say going here, your experience with drastically rely on which employees are working that day, and how skilled the party you’re driving with is.Race slowdowns: a lot of the time, beginner drivers crash. And not just once, they crash many times. When you’re trying to set a new lap record, this is unideal because they will set your maximum speed to 1mph or 0mph depending on how much they need to do to set that driver back up.Race slowdowns happen a lot, simply because if you’re a single or even a small party of 3-4 drivers, they will put your party in with other drivers. At one point I was able to request we be put in a faster group, since times are posted online publicly, and that allowed us all to set faster times without limit. I guess this may be “insider knowledge” but I also believe they also have a highlighted user that I recall being a green box, in which those drivers have set exceptional times (<19s a lap), which let the staff know the highly skilled from beginners.Which brings me to the next point: speed limits. This part is what really made me dislike coming here. Speed limits are up to the employees discretion based solely on how they feel the drivers are doing - driving safely, without needing caution. Many times, when new employees come - they aren’t as aware of how skilled drivers are and tend to leave the speed limits at speed 3, instead of full speed. This drastically changes the experience, because you won’t be able to get up to speed on the after the last corner towards the finish line/corner one straight. On my last visit (2 years agoI explained to the *new* staff on sight, that my party of 6 was slowed down to level 2 the entire time because they put a beginner who slowed the group down the entire race to the point of our 20.5s average time skyrocketed to nearly 38s average per lap. The new manager essentially told me “nothing I can do about it, it’s not my fault you guys were slowed down” - which I knew wasn’t true, because whenever I came to the old manager and explained what had happened, he would comp us one extra race - after coming here approximately 200+ times, I stopped. New staff sucked, so it wasn’t worth my money anymore.
It was so much fun. 2 opportunities to make it perfect:1- staff didn’t know how many races we are allowed as an event group. We had lots of discussions to get our 3 races.2- multiple cars failures affected our races multiple times. We haven’t seen any regret or action taken to remedy such inconvenience. Thanks
Have been to this location plenty of times for racing and to play pool. I have never had a bad experience here, and I find that the employees are incredibly helpful. The food is pretty good for a place that doesnt specialize in food, it maybe a bit pricy but its probably less pricy compared to like food you get at a theater. Races are a bit expensive, but theyre 100% worth it since you are renting the vehicle, helmets, and track for a small amount of time. Plus, you get your race score and time per lap printed for you. Ive been here before, and will look forward to going here again.
Short staffed and unprofessional. Walked in and was given 2pm for a junior race. We waited until 3:30pm to actually ride. Staff is clearly overwhelmed, unorganized, and unable to handle volume. Why are you back there making pizzas when people are lined up in the front needing assistance? Shut down the food, offer drinks and snacks, accommodate customers who are waiting. First time here, and unfortunately the last as well.
We drove an hour to come ride for my sisters birthday. We arrived at 7:30pm and they told us we would not be able to race until 11:30. I also overheard a guy working there tell a lady who had just walked in and was brand new, that he could squeeze them in at 9:30pm or 10pm. Anyway, we paid for everyone almost 600$ and we talked to the personnel and agreed to just come back the following day to race instead of waiting til 1130pm because of the little kids. We arrived the next day at 2pm after paying almost 600$ the night before and was told we would not be able to race until almost 9pm. I called prior to arriving and was told NOBODY "rented" the track for personal use but they did have 2 birthday parties. From my understanding races are supposed to alternate racers throughout the time to insure that everyone races. They kept the same 2 parties on the track from 2pm until 8pm even without them "renting" the track for personal events. Im not sure if they were paid under the table to do so or not but it was very very different from the last 8 or 9 times Ive came to this location or any of the other 7 locations Ive been to across the nation. It put a very bad taste in my mouth especially after driving an hour AGAIN and spending almost 600$. THEN They didnt even register the junior racers in any of the races which resulted in having to wait another additional hour for the kids to race. Places like this often hire immature young adults who have very poor customer service. I would seriously consider hiring new staff that are RESPECTFUL and mature. I wouldnt waste my money racing here in the future. South San Francisco will treat you much better for your moneys worth!
Love this place. The boys had a great time. First race was just the 2 juniors but the second and third race there were 5 more kids. Staff did a good job of putting them in the order of pace so the slower kids weren’t being pushed around by faster drivers. A+. Thanks
I loved the experience of driving karts at K1 Speed - Dublin. Great leisure option, the place is safe, clean and organized. Everything works great. I will certainly come back many times. That day I was faster than my husband lol. I love adventure and speed. I really recommend it.
Bit pricy, but a fun place to race. For first timers it will be exciting. Support staff were good too.
My first time, but my son’s second time. WE HAD SO MUCH FUN!!! Thanks to the gentleman that goes by the name sippi, appreciate the great customer service.
The location is good but the electric carts do not perform like gas ones, you pretty much never have to brake and its flat except for one single turn. The track is pretty short, 20 seconds laps. The rest of the facility is great for company events, nice areas to sit, maybe the music a little too loud. The pool table - which is in a nice area post-event - is not in a good shape. It needs a little more work and faster karts to get full stars.
My daughter and her friends all had an amazing time here. Way better then expected. I too had a good time hanging out watching all the fun. Clean place and friendly staff. It was a great experience. We will be going back again and again. If you are going to have a birthday party here pay the extra money on the higher package because the trophies are quality.
They frequently have to slow the karts down to a crawl due to spin-outs on the track by other racers, thus ruining the entire experience for everybody. The pricing is quite expensive at $46 USD for just 2 races. Each race lasts about 5 minutes. The interior is nicely decorated, and the electric karts are speedy and fun.
This was an absolute blast. If you havent tried anything like this I highly reccomed it. My wife took my for my birthday and I was given a free race. The employees are all friendly and helpful. The carts are fast and fun to drive. Definitely going to have to come back again. They even have food and drinks there. The sweet chili wings are incredible.
Series of parking spots up front are all compact. Enter the place and hang a right to sign in at the computers or desk if you need help. Place is well staffed at the desk and race track. They have separate cars for Juniors and they race on their own. Everything is electric here and they provide helmets in all sizes. Have seat inserts also if you need a better fit. All the cars were in good state, a few broke down but plenty of spares. Place gets busy and host private races also which can change your wait time. You dont have to use all the races the same day which is really nice. The three pack is the best value for money. The entire place was kept well and very clean.
Go karting for fun. Good decent place. Staff were great. All were 💯 professionals. Some of the cars are hard to control. If you are not a member you need to pay $8 for sure. One game is $22 and two game is 35.
Great place for kids. The service is really food but the price for one couple can be expencive. They try to get you to pay more for the unneeded membership. I was 70 dollars for my wife an I. The two races that we did were both really fun but the staff have a ability to stop the race amd all the riders at any time, which is for safty but when you pay 70 dollars for some all out races it becomes annoying when the staff remotely stop your kart for evey spin out that other riders make. We went on a non crowded night but if we came during the day the waite limits could easily extend an hour after each race. Great place for an electric kart race.
Really fun time. Karts are electric and well maintained. Only downfall is the service. Communication is vital for first timers and the staff wasnt very friendly or helpful.
