Takeout-oriented sushi specialist in an inconspicuous urban location.
Tiny sushi place with nice employees and two tables with a chair for dine in
Always great food and awesome people
Literally will never return. Came here for lunch on 7/25/22. We ordered lunch for our coworkers. They combined ALL of the sushi together in a to go box with NO clear indication of WHICH IS WHICH!!! Then when my coworker called to explain there could have been allergies etc, the girl said “well you should have told us if there were allergies”. COMPLETELY unprofessional. I would NEVER recommend here. Go out of business!
Best take out only Sushi in Uptown
This place used to be one of my favorites for lunch in uptown, solid sushi and prices, but the staff there has recently changed and they aren’t nearly as friendly as the previous staff. Previous staff were fantastic, new staff are a bit rude and disorganized. Unfortunate because they used to be so great!
Found this place on google with friends and we came to try it out. I tried the K.O Deluxe and the sushi was amazing plus good quality! Would come back again! :)
Sushi is always phenomenal and ready on time for pick up! High quality fish at a great price. Staff are always friendly!
Do not underestimate!! the sushi is fresh and tasty, the service is quick and thorough. Try the gyoza also
Great sushi at a great price! My go to lunch spot in Uptown
This was my favorite quick sushi place when I was still in Charlotte. Glad to see they are still around.
Great sushi but online orders aren’t started till you arrive. Just had someone show up after me and his was ready before mine.
This place is amazing. Its everything right with Charlotte, it will brighten your day. Dont make the mistake of going to Soho Chinese.
The Fireworks Sushi Roll 🍣 is my favorite. I love it! It is the Best!
great sushi, big rolls, fresh fishes, friendly service and prices. a real gem for takeout
I dont have the foggiest idea why this "neighborhood guide" down here was slamming on this spot. I have been here many occasions, had extraordinary assistance, and incredible FRESH sushi at a very moderate cost. The stand by times can be risky in case they are really sponsored up, however they wont ever baffle. This spot is to a greater extent a takeout spot so no compelling reason to go nuts with regards to them not having seating. I trust they begin serving at lunch again soon with individuals working in uptown more now since I miss getting their rolls for lunch.
I dont know why this "local guide" down here was bashing on this place. I have been here countless times, had great service, and great FRESH sushi for a super affordable price. The wait times can be iffy if they are super backed up, but they never disappoint. This place is more of a takeout spot so no need to freak out about them not having seating. I hope they start serving at lunch again soon with people working in uptown more now because I miss getting their rolls for lunch.
Awesome spot! Great portions for the price and the food was fresh and staff was kind. Will definitely return.
I cant say enough about KO Sushi. My patronage has been over many years and they have never disappointed. I think this is one of the best hidden gems in Charlotte!!
LOVE LOVE LOVE KO SUSHI! ALWAYS DELICIOUS AND CONSISTENT!! STAFF IS SUPER FRIENDLY!! KO IS A TOTAL KNOCK OUT! KO FOR THE WIN!!
Love the sushi here. The shrimp tempura roll is my favorite. You can’t beat the price either.
Best sushi in Charlotte. Their Begal roll tastes like an everything Begal from NY with salmon, avocado and cream cheese. Its heaven. Everything is yummy and non expensive.
The food was amazing, as always!! #sushifan .But, getting here was challenging with the road closures. Definitely worth the 7 blocks walk from the car and back!! Will be returning soon/often!!
This sushi place is in a good location uptown. I got the Philly roll and chicken box. The Philly roll was just average. The chicken and rice tasted really good but the portion size was so small. Customer service here is not good. Theres no one there to greet you. No bell or anything to ring. So you just stand there waiting for someone. When they do come they dont apologize and arent very friendly. They said the food would take 10 to 15 minutes- which is no problem. When we came back in 15 minutes, same thing, nobody was there and our food wasnt ready.I think they could really improve their customer service here.Currently they are not offering dine in. The facility is really small and just has two small seating areas.
My favorite sushi place now. So FRESH and affordable! I eat here at least twice a week and my favorite is the spicy salmon. I love that they have the Maki combination boxes.
I love this place. The sushi is fresh and delicious and you cant beat the price. Give about 30-60 mins for an online order, depending on the time/day you order. Ive had the spicy salmon, spicy shrimp, and spicy crab rolls. So good! The seaweed salad and miso soup are also tasty add-ons.
Love their Sushi roll! Great price and quality. My favorite is #Anything roll# try if you like salmon and avocado also cilantro!JMT!!!!
Are you in the mood for sushi and Moneys tight? Then this is the place for you. A piece of advise. If you dont want to wait much then order online and pick up after 15 minutes of ordering.
Chicken Plate - Handful of white rice and a spoon of chicken. No veggies. Not much food at all. Comes with 2 gyoza which were good.Service - Slow to serve. Charge for every single sauce. Cashier will look at you confused if you ask for chopsticks or extra soy sauce, saw it happen to 2 customers in front of me as well. They are really trying to minimize how much condiments they give out, at the cost of mistreating the customer.
I have been going to this place regularly since 2012.But yesterday had a bad experience.I went there for sushi and the glass display was empty. I assumed they were out of sushi and ordered teriyaki chicken (which btw is terrible, I ended up throwing it, waste of money). Later the lady says they have sushi in the back, which she should have informed beforehand. I asked her to cancel the teriyaki chicken for sushi. And she says the order has already started to get ready, within like 30 seconds.Awful customer experience. Not going back!
If you work in the city, this is a great lunch option. The sushi is inexpensive and pretty good for the price. I suggest putting an order in online before going to pickup because it gets super packed. The area is tiny and its pretty hidden.
Great sushi! It is takeway place. Their service is pretty fast and reasonably priced. I recommend the fireworks rolls, they were too good.
Great sushi for the price and quick turnaround too. One of my favorite takeout places in Charlotte for sushi. Highly recommend; can be quite busy during weekdays lunch time.
Great place for lunch. Sometimes it takes a bit to get food if you dont just grab something out of the fridge, but no complaints, its pretty good sushi. They have raised prices a little bit recently, but its still a good deal on sushi.
Great place for cheap but high quality sushi. Only complaint is that they lost our order and it took like forty five minutes to get our food. However, the owner was very nice about it, apologized profusely, and gave us 50 percent off our next order. I would have given this place a much lower rating had she not been so courteous about the mistake. Instead, I think Ill be back very soon to try more sushi at half off! I strongly recommend ordering online ahead of time if youre using this for a work lunch, as it did get very of crowded around noon.
Sushi!! Look, let me start off and say how much I love sushi. 1-2 years ago, I wouldnt even touch it. I was missing out for sure. Im always down to try sushi anywhere (okay, maybe not the gas station sushi). I also work uptown and there are several places near my job that have sushi, even closer than KO.I decided to take a stroll to KO and pass by my normal sushi place to see how they were, since there always seems to be a line. I placed my order online in advance and I still ended up waiting in line to check in and pay. I have also ordered in person to compare the wait time difference and the online ordering does seem to be slightly faster, but not deal breaking fast.I always seem to go for the fried seafood in my rolls and I went with the Tempura roll. Unlike most tempura rolls that just have Shrimp tempura and some veggies, they have shrimp, crab, spicy mayo and masago. No veggies! Which, let me tell you, is awesome for me. I dont really like avocado and a lot of sushi has it, but I normally just deal with it. The sushi is some of the best that Ive had and Im kicking myself for not coming sooner.I also tried the Shrimp Shumai appetizer. The ones Ive had at other places uptown very always fried. These were not. However, these were so good. The best Ive had so far. Whatever the special sauce is, its amazing and special to my heart. The price. Being in uptown you always expect prices to be higher and KO is not only inexpensive, but they are the cheapest Ive had in the city. Ive picked up some orders for my boss as well and he said its also some of the best hes had and he came from San Francisco where Ive heard they have amazing sushi. If you are in the area or just want some good sushi, do yourself a flavor and go there ASAP! The lunch rush is around 12-1, so avoid that time, but if you are on a lunch break, the wait isnt terrible like most places.
Wonderful place to grab Sushi on the go. Close to Roman Beard park. There is also shaded tables across the street. It is also close enough to both stadiums to stop by on the way to and from a game. Prices are very reasonable, staff is very friendly, and the food is quite delicious 😍🤩😍
I grabbed take out and walked it back to my hotel about a 10 minute walk away. It was so worth the walk. The price is great for the sushi that you get and the shrimp shumai and seaweed salad were on point. I would definitely go back again. The only opportunity for me would be more soy sauce but I should have asked.
Delicious sushi! The only downside is that this is only a takeout place. They have no seating area and we didn’t realize it at first. Decided to give them a try anyway! Fresh sushi and tastes amazing! I’m a huge sushi lover and try them everywhere, this is definitely a place I will be coming back to!
I work in Uptown and this location is usually slammed at lunch! Its slammed for a reason. They have good sushi at a great rate. I highly suggest ordering online and picking up. These guys do a good job of pumping out orders quickly, but I am not patient and prefer to order online and pickup when ready. These guys are great!
The fish to rice ratio is great. KO Sushi is truly a great value. It has easily become of my favorite sushi places in Uptown. I also like that it is take-out -- makes it a great choice when I cant stay away from my desk too long.
Great sushi for an unbeatable price. I walked in and got a LARGE roll in 5 min. It was fantastic and the best sushi Ive had out of 3 places I have tried in uptown.
Ordered a Bagel roll and miso for lunch. The place was extremely busy and the pick up area was packed! Food was tasty and its great value for money.
Very tasty! I got the Hiro roll and it was way larger than I expected. Most places only give you one tempura shrimp but there were two, and especially for that price it was fantastic.
Great food at an amazing price! This is a local sushi place most people find out about 6m-1yr after working uptown. Theyve usually been overpaying for sushi for a while and its been subpar (heres to you room 112).This places lunchbox is more food for cheaper and FAR faster. If youre reading this, welcome to the secret.
THE UDON SOUP IS AMMMMMAAAAZZZZING!!!! My husband doesnt even like Japanese food and he has me ordering at least twice a week. The sushi is very clean, the food is prepared with love and care. This is the BEST kept secret!!!!!
I love this place, K.O. Sushi. Very fresh and tasty roll/ nigiri that our whole family always enjoy. Whenever we have a chance to go uptown area, we always swing by there. Firework taste amazing, catapila, rainbow and salmon nigiri are our favoeite. It is basically to go restaurant , so recommend buying some boxes of sushi and sitting in the park near by...
Tuna in Spicy Tuna Roll is macerated for some reason. Rice is less sticky then it should be. Nigiri was thinner than other places which was compensated for by having a longer slice. Tasted fresh. Nice enough staff. Good to satisfy a lunch craving but not a go to place for me.
Super fast and extremely delicious! In Charlotte for the night for work and wanted sushi really bad, so I decided to try this place out. Now Im really wishing it was in Atlanta!!!!! Will definitely go back next time I am in Charlotte! House salad and Hiro roll....mmmmmm
I found this place while wandering around downtown. Great prices. ~7 bucks per roll and they are big. Fantastic flavor. The only negative is that there is only a small bar seating two people at a time. This is really a take out only joint.
I order lunches online and pick them up, never had a problem with these guys and very accessible. Its fresh every time and these guys have been in the sushi/japanese business for many years. With such a small space they know how to make the most of it. Why buy the aged stuff with overcooked rice at HT when you can get better quality for the same price at KO?
