Home to nearly 3,000 animal, bird & plant species, this destination boasts a petting zoo & trails.
We had the best experience here. Davie, the manager of the tree top trek was incredible. When my son got scared, he encouraged him and helped him down with the amazing Lorena. He gave him a talk about overcoming fears and understanding that he is not a failure even if he cannot do something now. He went above and beyond. When my son got hurt, Alex Reed cared for him and made sure he got us ice. He was unbelievably empathetic and kind. What a great day!! We will definitely be back! Thank you!
My husband and I thought a Lemur Encounter for a first wedding anniversary would be a memorable moment. What we experienced FAR exceeded our expectations. Ryan was beyond knowledgeable, friendly and genuinely took it upon himself to be sure we had a great time. This will be a place we visit for many years to come. We cant wait to come back to see how even more beautiful it is when fully re-opened, but in the mean time will enjoy many more encounters each time we visit.
Ive visited many times with my family to see the variety of animals they had, great learning moments.
Awesome airsoft refs taller guy and the front office staff are amazing ! Just wish games would start at 9 like the we started states
Everything was great, but we paid Xtra for the fast pass. The regular line was moving faster than the fast pass. Im not referring to just one house, just about all of them & the workers there werent even asking to see the bracelets for the fast pass. Very unorganized, but the houses were nice.
We went to the zipping trekking experience. It was amazing. I watched from below but my family and friends had a wonderful experience. All had a wonderful time. They said they would do it again. I enjoyed the grounds, it was clean. The birds and animals were beautiful. The staff was wonderful.
We had the most amazing experience here. We signed up for the lemur encounter and it was nothing short of amazing. Our guide Ryan was so knowledgeable in all of the animals that we past and had so many great things to share. We are already planning to come back!
Fab afternoon with great friends ! Music was perfect - not too loud but loud enough! Food was perfect! Drinks were perfect & the ambience was perfect! Beach chic!Been many times and will be back many times!
The private animal encounter VIP tours are absolutely phenomenal. There is nothing like it anywhere in Miami and tour guide Ryan Jacobs does a fantastic job making you feel one with these stunning creatures. We will definitely be back and look forward to new hands on adventures in the future.
First time there for the hubby and I.. Had a great time.
It is such a beautiful place. I was there for recognition award, it was nice the food, the bar, the show, the salon where the award took placed was very nice.
Jungle Island is always awesome but I was here for The haunted theme park they had Horrorland miam Very well Put together a great actors in the houses. The beer is a little overpriced but everything else is great and the addition of this Halloween event is definitely a plus!
We went zip lining at at the TreeTop Trekking.. under construction soo not much we could do as all other tours and encountes were already booked. It was fun and exciting. Staff is friendly and helpful. Great time with nature.
Best Birthday For my Sister! I took her for the animal encounter and we both loved it! The pictures and her smile speak for themselves! All credit to our guide, Selvin Granados. He so knowledgeable and kind, we were able to enjoy every moment. For the price, is definitely a must do if you’re visiting Miami or haven’t done this and you live here. The animals are so well taken care of you can tell by the bonding they have with their caregivers. Not to mention the staff was very helpful upon arrival at the check in. Definitely doing it again soon!
I can’t express enough how awesome this place is. We did the Lemur VIP tour. We will definitely go back when we are in the area. Thank you so much for an amazing experience.
Did not know what to expect going into this. The Staff is super nice. There are exotic birds and animals all around the place. I imagine they have a petting zoo. I can’t say as we showed up for the Treetop Trekking. Best description is an obstacle course 30 to 60 ft off the ground. You are harnessed in for safety as you navigate zip lines, tight ropes, rope ladders and the such. A pretty physical activity. It was lots of fun. Some views of Miami on the upper coarse are very nice.
We got a private tour of the park and as an avid animal lover this was the best “zoo” like experience. The animals were all very active and you could tell their were very well taken care of. The birds were singing and talking even the tortoises were moving around and active. I love love loveeeed the sloth encounter as well. It was an amazing experience.
We had a fantastic time here! Apparently, this place has just come under new ownership and they are really doing a lot to make sure all of the animals are happy and well taken care of now. I guess it was somewhat of a different story beforehand… Anyways, we did a VIP tour and it was nothing short of amazing. Our guide, Ally, was super knowledgeable of all of the animals, even knew their individual personalities traits and quirks. It was obvious that she really loved and cared for them. The lemurs were by far, the best. They were all so friendly and velvety soft. All in all, the entire staff did a wonderful job making sure we had the best time possible. Thank you guys!!
My wife and I chose to do the VIP Experience. All we can say is that this place is something special. Truely some great lifetime memories were made with Ryan our guide. The knowledge and heartfelt care he and the staff has for the animals shines bright. Possibly the best animal experience of my lifetime!
This is a good place for a drink at the beach. We just rain is with lifeguard station. This is a nice bar area in a very Caribbean table well. The dress very good though I didn’t eat any food there.
It was AMAZING! I am skeptical about “zoos” but Jungle Island made it incredible for me.First of all, it doesn’t smell like every zoo. It’s BEAUTIFUL and best part of all, animals looks happy and healthy. Actually, during my stay there I saw macaws every time around the area (without cage, ‘free’), same for the ducks and flamingos. Good thing! Points por Jungle Island.I had the opportunity to go to two shows and I simply LOVED IT! I highly recommend “Wild Adventures Show” the one with the birds.Easy parking and flat rate: $10Place for snacks: Paul (the bakery franchiseand an ice cream spot.Souvenir store.Play kids area.***DO NOT MISS THE OPPORTUNITY TO TAKE A PICTURE WITH THE MACAWS AT YOUR ENTRANCE! At the end you can buy them (if you like it! And of course they do a great job, you will do it)
I think this a great place to take kids. Did not partake in the theme park portion, more just the animal portion. It was still interesting as a few adults, as the vibrant amount of plants are very pretty and the amount of birds they have is quite grand. Did as part of the Miami go pass, which was definitely worth it. Saw a bird show, which was also great.
Perfect evening outing. Place is so lit, vibrant and unique. And very beautiful. Loved it. Shows were good too. Acrobatic & Chinese dance. You can discount for the tickets online at Groupon or eventbrite.
I had good time especially with Luminosa festival. I felt a little bad watching animals looking like prisoners and seeing a big ratt walking in the parrot theater (better pest control may be needed).Nice view of the city as well.
Was here for the Chinese New Year lantern and lights festival. We saw a troop of acrobats from China performing at the sepentarium. The amount of work that went to transforming a typical zoo, to a night time light based wonderland cannot be understated. Fantastic place to visit with the whole family.
$50 for a ticket and half of the place is under construction or closed? Its like a cool night club that happens to be a letting zoo during the day. Also, half the staff is friendly and nice, and the other half are sick if their job.and dont want to be helpful.
Had wonderful time..The light and entertainment, great food stops and drinks and wonderful friends..such was the night. The light show is spectacular and as you walk through the island, you feel like you are experiencing magic of sort....beautiful.
We did Luminosa Chinese Lantern festival inside Jungle Island! Who knew that space was so large and there would be so much activity??? There was an adventure area with zip line, rock climbing wall, bungee trampoline & small overhead obstacle course. The lights!!! Beautiful, the music and blowing scents added to the ambience. The acrobatic show was impressive!! Great time!!!
Visit was for the Luminosa exhibit. Gorgeously-colored silk on wire frames with bright interior lighting in myriad animal and plant shapes wowed everyone, preschool children to nonagenarians. We went at night when the effect was most powerful. Dont know about how it would look during the day. And I havent been to Jungle Island without this exhibit, so my rating is really limited to the great job they did with Luminosa. Ill add pictures.
It was alright, nothing super exciting or significant. Definitely not worth the full price, even for kids. The only attractive features are the kangaroo walkabout, the petting area and the shows. We went and the kangaroo walkabout wasnt even open so we missed that part. Overall not bad but not great either.
Amazing experience, different than regular Zoo. Talking Macaw 🦜 were very impressive. Staff members were very helpful and friendly. Make sure to take your water bottle and snacks, food is expensive.
Amazing place with lots of things to do there. Beautiful gardens and decorations and various animals to look at and learn from. I went for the Luminosa light show with my family and we were all delighted and had a wonderful time.
I went for Luminosa at night and was impressed with all decorations. There are some romantic spots to listen to live music and have a drink. There was also an acrobatics show, very short but really cool. I think it’s about 1 and a half hours tour to see everything. If you take time to sit and enjoy the place, it might be longer.
I had an Amazing experience. what a peaceful evening, jungle island is surrounded by luminosa beautiful neon lights. I felt like I was in Avatar somewhere lost in the jungle. i really enjoyed it. It felt mystical. The music the shows were good the little restaurant. I even had a mojito near the water. Looking toward the city... ooooh y’all need to go you will not regret!!! The staff were so helpful guiding you to the next show. Everyone was super kind,And welcoming.
A wonderful place where the employees take a great care of the animals and let you be in a very close contact with them. We got to pet some gorgeous birds and kangaroos. Thank you for creating this experience for the people and also keeping the animals in such a great environment!
Jungle Island waa always a place i wanted to visit. We didnt see really the zoo part. We went for the chinese lantern festival and it was great. The work they put on to that and it just looks fantastic. I just can recommend this for a nice evening and something different to do.
Extremely difficult to park ... Small place and offers few attractions ... Expensive for what it offers! And without good eating options... Most of water toys are not for toddlers, they are only for older children and there is no warning on the website or at the time of ticket purchase ... I had pity for the trapped animals, but the birds seemed well treated during the shows... And could see gorillas been trained, very smart, was fun...
$50 and half of it was under construction. It takes about an hour and a half to see everything if you are walking slow. It may be better once they have a lazy river and the other promised features, but Id suggest waiting until then to visit..
Place has a lot of activities, bouncy houses with water are really cool for kids and you can spend a good amount of time there, I saw zip lining, jumping, and other things that seemed very cool, food truck, plenty picnic area, plenty bathrooms. Little spots where you can sit and relax.
Well worth the money. The Lemur Experience was amazing! There were two flamingos walking the park that we could pet. Its not a large park but takes more than 3 hours to see all the shows and to take your time and enjoy the animals.
Very cool! A bit over priced but with the Groupon you can get it 50% off, beware you also pay for the parking about $10. The shows are worth going to and free with admission.
Great value. You get so many things included with the price including a lot of hands on time with animals. Definitely recommend coming early and taking advantage of the free guided tour as well.
We saved turtle on the middle of the road on our way there. We had drawing class here few weeks in a row. This is really nice place for family visits or learning life drawing. It is not crowded and they offer student membership which was really affordable.
The time spent there was fun but unfortunately they have not recuperated fully since hurricane Irma as far as their exhibits. They had a large variety of birds, kangaroos, a large tortoise, monkeys, orangatans and very cute goats!!!! For the price it there was not enough there.
Jungle Island is a beautiful place to experience once or twice in a lifetime by yourself or with your family. While a bit pricey for my taste as a local attraction, it is an ideal tourist location and it is priced as such. To put it in perspective, for a family of three I ended up spending $140 dollars on the entrance alone. That being said, once inside you can expect to encounter anything from entertaining exotic animal shows, to kangaroo petting experiences, a beach (open during the summer monthsand various food options. In addition to that, the animals all seem to be in excellent health, the park is clean and litter free, the bathrooms offer changing tables, and it’s an overall good experience.
The landscaping is very nice. Thats the high point. Most of the animals are kept in old time small cages enclosures. Very sad and upsetting. The entrance fee is ridiculously high for what you get. About half the price of Disney for much less than 1 % what Disney offers. Snacks are also major rip off. Ice cream cones, though tasty, are $7! Photos with parrots $25. Parking $10 on Top of entrance fee. A family of four would spend well over $300 for a visit with lunch.
My first impression is that it looks like this place was an impressive and odd zoo but now its a lil bit abandoned. I could see a great variety of species and their staff doesnt give u expected attention when you pay more than $50. Even though, if we let in count the aftermath caused by Irma, we have to be complacent and give a 4 stars.
Went Memorial Day Weekend. We got lucky because the rain gave us a break and it was a beautiful day out with the a nice breeze. The bird show was very entertaining. We hung out with the Kangaroos and than enjoyed lunch. Our tour guide told us they are adding a water park with all kinds of entertainment.
Fun place, way overpriced!! Youd think somethings included at that high price but food is scarce and super expensive and map is unclear. We missed both shows because there was no announcement and the petting zoo is a joke. Kids had fun running around but overall is not really worth the high price.
I enjoyed this place very much, I found a great Groupon deal online. The staff had been very friendly. I like the open concept for the zoo. I think very kid friendly. The place looked in good maintenance. I did watch the show they had at 1pm and found it enjoyable. I did not have the opportunity too try the food offered. I would visit again.
