Espectacular templo de la comunidad china que se asentó en Phuket en el siglo XIV, el templo en si no difiere mucho de otros templos budistas, salvo el noveno mes del calendario lunar... donde los devotos Taoístas celebran el fin de los monzones, y la Purificación de su cuerpo, pasan 10 días sin comer carne, beber alcohol ni mantener relaciones sexuales... para que sus dioses bajen los posean y eliminen la mala energía de su comunidad... un espectáculo impresionante no digno de todos los estómagos...P.D.: Una comunidad amable y cuidadosa ejemplar que me hizo sentir como uno más de ellos! อยู่ภูเก็ตร่วม 20 กว่าปี เพิ่งจะได้มีโอกาสกราบไหว้พระที่อ๊ามครั้งแรกเลย มาช่วงกินเจ คนก็จะเยอะหน่อยภายในมีบริเวณกว้างมาก มีจุดให้ไหว้พระตามหมายเลข ถ้าทำอะไรไม่ถูก ถามเจ้าหน้าที่ได้ เค้าจะบอกให้ไปตามจุดอย่างถูกต้องเลย

เทศกาลกินเจ 2022 เริ่ม 26/9 - 4/10 เป็นวาระสมโภชน์ครบรอบ 111 ปีของศาลเจ้า ปีนี้มีร้านค้ามาเปิดขายเต็มทั้ง 2 ฝั่งถนน ร้านค้าขายอาหารมากมายตั้งแต่กลางวัน ตอนกลางวันรถผ่านได้ แต่ตอนเย็นปิดถนนคนมาแวะเที่ยวมากมาย บรรยากาศคึกคัก มีอาหารให้ทานฟรีบริเวณประตูวัดด้านนอก

ปีนี้คนเยอะ จัดยิ่งใหญ่ คนต่างชาติก็เยอะ

Celebrate 111 years Jui Tui Shrine during Phuket Vegetarian Festival (26 September - 4 October 2022it was amazing. Lot of shows, music, food and many ceremonies.

Jui tui shrine an interesting place.The time to come is around a month september-october,there are will be a vegetable festival.A lot of people will come to pay respect to chinese sculpture about evening.Around,there are a stalls only vegeterian food.great,recommend to try.

It is the biggest Chinese temple in Phuket Old Town. While it looks grandiose from the outside, it is actually quite small once we step in.Fun fact - this is the temple that hosts the famous Vegetarian Festival for 9 days every year in November in Phuket. This is based on the tradition that eating vegetables helped eliminate a cholera outbreak in Phuket.

ศาลเจ้าจุ้ยตุ่ย หรือ จุ้ยตุ่ยเต้าโบ้เก้ง เป็นศาลเจ้าจีนในจังหวัดภูเก็ต คนภูเก็ตเรียกศาลเจ้าว่า อ๊าม ตั้งอยู่ที่ ซอยภูธร ถนนระนอง อำเภอเมือง จังหวัดภูเก็ต โดยความหมาย ของคำว่า จุ้ยตุ่ย จุ้ยแปลว่า น้ำ ตุ่ย แปลว่า ครกตำข้าว สมัยก่อนนั้น หน้าบริเวณศาลเจ้า เป็นคลอง กว้าง มีน้ำมาก ชาวบ้านจึงสร้างกังหันขึ้นเพื่อใช้กำลังจากน้ำมาตำข้าวที่เก็บเกี่ยวแล้ว พี่น้องชาวภูเก็ต ทั้งคนจีน และคนไทย ก็ได้เข้าร่วมในพิธีการถือศีลกินเจกับคณะงิ้วด้วย พี่น้องชาวภูเก็ตของเราก็ได้ศึกษา ปฏิบัติ พิธีการต่าง ๆ ตั้งแต่วันเริ่มงานกินเจจนเสร็จพิธี ในพิธีการกินเจนี้ เขาจะมีพิธีขึ้นเสาโกเต้ง มีตะเกียงน้ำมัน 9 ดวงซึ่งเป็นสัญลักษณ์ของพิธีการกินเจได้เริ่มขึ้นแล้วในพิธีการกินเจก็มีการประทับทรงพระทำพิธี ลุยไฟ สะเดาะเคราะห์อาบน้ำมันซึ่งกำลังเดือด พิธีไหว้เทวดา มีการแห่ขบวนไปตามถนนสายต่าง ๆ พอครบกำหนด 9 วัน 9 คืน ก็เป็นอันเสร็จพิธีการกินเจ

I passed by this temple few times, I was thinking maybe I can go and check it out, I saw the post hanging on the wall that is guanyin her birthday, so before I went to the temple I went to fruit shop buying some fruit as a gift for guanyin and pray for our family health and safety, this temple is very traditional and beautiful.

Vegetarian Festival Lived with the people of Phuket for a long time. more than a hundred years Vegetarian diet started from The opera troupe is from China. to show at Kathu District and having a vegetarian ceremony there for the first time Due to the outbreak of epidemics, a lot of people died and got sick. but it is strange None of the people in the opera troupe were sick. after an inquiry The opera troupe worshiped Chinese gods and ate vegetarian food, abstained from meat, and performed fasting for nine days and nine nights. and a miraculous event occurred that made the villagers in that area recover from the plague. And it was asked that the opera troupe to convey the complete vegetarian ritual. Money was then raised for the opera troupe to travel back to China to bring the ritual and vegetarianism back to Phuket. Three months later, after the villagers had waited in despair, a junk boat arrived at the sa-phan -hin bridge. and someone from the opera came back with Statues of gods and incense burners have been brought to Kathu District, where vegetarian events will be held on the calendar on the first day of the ninth lunar month of every year, and the tradition of vegetarianism in Phuket is well known to foreign countries. Every year, Thai and foreign tourists come together to dress in white. to participate in the vegetarian festival It is another important highlight of Phuket Province.

The biggest shrine in Phuket.It’s quite when it is not during vegetarian festival.But during the festival, it is the most crowded shrine. Especially at night because it will host a ceremony to dispel your bad luck. Thousands of people will gather in this tiny place.On the street to the shrine, there are vegetarian shops. You must try ปลาเค็มเจ salted fragmented fish (vegetarian version). It is the best and you can’t find this menu when it isn’t during the festival.

During the Vegetarian Festival this is the place to be, it seems to be the number one Chinese Shrine in town. At least its processions are the biggest and the loudest. At times of the Festival the shrine and the whole area are very crowded and noisy, so its almost impossible to walk around and admire every corner of the complex. Be sure to wear white clothes if you dont want to be the only colorful one in the crowd. And its more than advisable to bring earplugs, because the fire crackers are a main feature of the festivities. Some people wear a face mask to protect their lungs from the smoke of the fire crackers. As for myself I didnt notice any advantage of the mask, the smoke gets anywhere. Its an amazing, intriguing and magical place!

A large shrine on a side street which is reasonably photogenic. There is also another smaller shrine in the front which has an entrance to this location as well. Has a large number of statues for dieties

As you approach the entrance, admire the carvings and detailed murals on the grey marble walls outside. Inside, you wander through several colourful halls with an array of deities, paintings and flags. Its beautiful and I felt so ignorant not knowing more about these religions, when I watched the devotees streaming in and out, shaking the "fortune sticks" and lighting incence sticks. The place is so rich in colour and symbolism. Amazing.

This Is a popular Chinese temple that plays a pivotal part in the annual Phuket Vegetarian Festival. Located on Soi Phuthorn, Ranong Road. Enjoy Phuket! Enjoy Thailand!!

Very relaxing shrine

It is also one of the best, nicest and wonderful place to visit in Phuket, Thailand. It is a Chinese temple. It is huge, with curved and triangle shaped roofs, colorful with decorative and attractive designs. Religious ceremonies continues non stop here. You feel totally a stranger here. The chinese devotees are found in white clothes on which something has been written. Eventhough no guides available, you are allowed to enter the temple. Crackers are fired every now and than at the entrance. Its a good and holy place. I was there in October 18. I liked it. I am impressed by it.

Wonderful Experience.Please wear White otherwise u will feel odd.

Phuket Vegetarian Festival begins on the eve of 9th lunar month of the Chinese calendar. This year is from October9-17, 2018.Today(Oct.15), street processions of Jui Tui Shrine take place. Hundreds of participants join the parade while thousands are waiting alongside the streets.

stunning chinese place great must visit for Phuket town

There is a great confusion about this shrine and Wat Put Jor on internet and in Google maps too. These places have currently very different rating but many of their photos are photos of the other. Thats not only because these two places are next to each other. Jui Tui shrine is in fact a large annex to Put Jor temple. It was built a century later but they are essential the same object. So that Im going to rate them as one. Its a nice and colorful Chinese worship place. Its not a tourist attraction, its real. And even though its far away from being the most interesting shrine Ive ever seen, its always good to have a quiet and peaceful place like this around so I think it deserves 4 stars.
