Juba Grand Hotel in Maridi

Juba Grand is strategically situated in the less congested zone of Juba city, therefore access to the hotel is fairly easy and less hectic, one can easily reach the airport within 10 - 15 minutes of even much less if its not busy hours of the day.Their meals are quite fantastic, especially if like me you like some soups 🍲, they offer a variety of well prepared soups daily, and their buffet is never boring, very fresh foods great salads, goat barbecue (mbudzi choma), its a great quinine that you cant resist. Theres also a fantastic gym which is generally fairly equipped for people who like to exercise, you cant go wrong at Juba Grand,There are however things that they can also improve on, especially internet connectivity, some times it takes ages to get the connectivity sorted out, Their snacks for conference meetings are too oily and theres need for a variety of snacks- oily fat cooks (mandaziand very oily samosas tend to either put off people or spoil the appetite for the mouthwatering buffet.Their is a general pagent odour emanating from the toilets when one is in the conference rooms, in my view, this is not related to the cleaning, I have noticed that cleaners do a thorough job, but my guess is that the plumbing works needs to be relooked at, also it appears to be a septic tank system, theres need for some chemicals to be placed in the septic tank to help reduce the smell.I didnt have the chance to use the rooms therefore I dont have much to comment on the rooms,Generally the staff and management seem to be organised and very helpful 👍

Juba Grand hotel really holds a great reputation when it comes to convient, clean and maintained swimming pool.Anytime I think of swimming it’s on my list in #Juba.

Friendly staff, amazing pool and rooms. Their chicken was a bit dry though.

In 150$ per night you have:-no internet-planty of mosquitos in the night-horrible ventilation-uncomfortable bed-no equipment to make tea or cafe-uneatable breakfest with Nescafé-no safe box-no shampoo, hair dryerPlus whatever you eat, is not food, but something to stop being hungry.

I stayed here from 23rd to Feb 13 2019. The rooms are big and have dstv. There is gym, swimming pool and 2 restaurants. The air conditioners work great. They offer breakfast, and buffet supper.However, they have some hygiene issues. The sink where you wash your hands before/after eating breakfast in Asmara restaurant are always very dirty in the morning hours. In fact, I had to change to bed only for fear of getting sick. I spoke to the manager about it but he didnt seem bothered.

Genuine South Sudanese hospitality at its very best. Very friendly staff from the Managing director to the Reception staff, Bar and Restraurant to the room service and maintenance people. Where else do you get greeted by friendly smiles and a handshake when you meet hotel staff? I think that a great many European Hotels should come and see what friendliness and hospitality really is all about..Am staying in a room just meters from the swimmingpool, the water is fresh and clean and a new fitness studio is being built (set to open before the end of the year)..The Restaurant offers buffe style breakfast, lunch and dinner, I enjoy the selection of dishes and there is always a vegetarian option, which is great. There is an outdoor BBQ arranged on Saturday nigjhts which is very nice indeed in the outdoor area behind the reception. Nothing beats having dinner in the Mango tree lined area with a few glasses of the local Nile Special beer on offer..This is a very smooth operation, I have the feeling of a home away from home. My room has high standard. Pleasantly decorated with cream floor tiles (so clean and shiny that you could also use them as a shaving mirror). Airconditioning, a good queen size bed, a bathroom with shower and toilet, a cupboard, a safe, a 32 inch Samsung flatscreen TV, a fridge and a table with 4 chairs. You even get your own slippers which come in handy when you walk to the pool. There is a free WIFI service covering the entire complex.What more could you possibly ask for?This is very good, I wouldnt hesitate to say excellent. The complex is located in a quiet and safe area, Banks and the JIT supermarket are within 15-20 minutes distance.The bar is lively at night and a great place to make contact with people from South Sudan and indeed from all over the world.

Good hotel to stay but no food for vegiterians.....enjoy.....
