Josephsons was so good! Such an awesome hole-in-the-wall type of place, the guy and gal serving and cashing people out were so kind and personable! Their salmon burger was absolutely delectable, with a crunchy crust but succulent inside. Absolutely to die for! My fiance got a bagel and lox that they said was the best that theyve had in years, and while it wasnt my thing, they definitely enjoyed it. Josephsons was one of the best parts of our trip!

Seriously the best clam chowder and lox I’ve ever had in my life. Delicious and unassuming.Perfect little gift shop with two small tables in the back where you can enjoy the intimate setting.They have 3 things on the menu- and they make them all amazingly.If you are in town during the day, I hands down recommend this place.

Best smoked salmon I have ever had and i come from a long line of fishermen in my family :the service is so nice and friendly, and they have a really nice selection including cod, smoked sturgeon, oysters, clams, and the list goes on and on. If theres a line just be patient- it goes fast and the service is the best ever!!

If you like lox...this place provides an authentic experience in a historic setting. Check it out! Seating inside is limited to 2 tiny tables so be prepared to venture out to the picnic tables or take your smoked salmon to go. I loved it that they ask if you want onions and capers in advance since Im not an onion fan. Grab some salmon jerkey to go as well!

A HIDDEN GEM, I WISH I had gotten more of the best smoked fish on the coast before I left Astoria! WOW. We got a belly pepper salmon and a tail sweet and spicy and MAN it was AMAZING! The staff are lovely easygoing people, and the clam chowder was so comforting, home made and delicious! I would describe it as if potato leek soup and clam chowder had a baby and that baby was so good! Seriously, worth spending some money here. I wish I had gotten more. Dont be me, spend the money!

Fantastic smokehouse, nice staff. Excellent selection. The wine smoked salmon is incredible. The lunches are a must, the salmon lox bagel (only pictured half but you get a whole bagelis so delicious and the clam chowder is out of this world

The place does not look best for lunch as you can mainly buy some ready product there.But we bought salmon burgers. They were amazing, fresh and so tasty.They even have limited amount so you xan see it is just limited, then fresh.

Good selection of hot or cold smoked salmon, sturgeon and oysters. Oysters are available in cans only. Gift baskets are also available. The shop offers a small menu and a couple of tables inside. We tried bagels with cream cheese and smoked salmon with capers. I am glad we stopped by.

The best selection of smoked fish along the whole Oregon coastline from Hold Beach to Astoria is found right here, at Josephsons. The prices are no more than you would pay at the supermarket, and the selection and service are superior.

The clam chowder was super thick and chunky and delicious on a rainy day. I loved that they offered oyster crackers to go with it. The smoked salmon was tender, juicy, and tasty, just a little too sweet for us. Still very good for someone who would like that. The staff was friendly and attentive.

Any smoked food is expensive. Sea food is expensive. I purchased smoked oysters, scallops, halibut and a salmon burger. Cost me $62. Best $62 bucks I have spent in a long while!

Stopped in at noon on a Saturday and the door was locked with no sign. We are so sad! We are from out of state and rarely get here....Definitely great smoked salmon and worth your time. Hope covid didnt get them to.😫

When visiting the Seaside/Astoria area, this place is a must for buying souvenirs and delicious smoked seafood. Theres always interesting and delicious local food to pick up as well as saltwater taffy.

I assumed that my salmon from Josephson’s Smokehouse in Astoria, Oregon which is located in the Pacific Northwest, would sell local salmon. It did not occur to me to question it. Well was I shocked to see that I bought farmed ATLANTIC salmon! No wonder it’s so expensive; they have to ship their product cross country. How absolutely ridiculous. I feel duped!

Josephsons has the best smoked salmon in the PNW i stop for it every time i come through Astoria! The wine maple is as good as they say but the garlic pepper is out of this world! The people behind the counter are always really friendly as well!

Served us graciously even though we walked in right around closing time, and their wine maple smokes salmon and salmon jerky were great! Neither was too salty even by smoked food standards and the shop had lots of flavor choices. Would recommend!

I was pretty excited about this place. The clam chowder was fine. The smoked salmon was disappointing because i got different flavors but they all tasted the same. The pickled salmon was sweet.

My husband and I stopped by the shop on a whim and bought the smoked oysters, wine maple smoked salmon, lochs, and salmon jerky and some clam chowder. We kicked ourseves for not ordering more of the chowder, so many yummy clams! Everything was delicious. Last night we shared what we bought with our sons and they loved it so much that they requested some smoked salmon in their Christmas stockings!

Oh my goodness. Best smoked salmon I have ever had. The taste is immaculate, life changing really. The staff was friendly and the chowder smelled delicious ( will have to give it a try next time I stop in!!I will definitely be a repeat customer!

We purchased the wine maple smoked salmon & the salmon jerky, this was the best we tasted in a long time. It was perfectly done, spiced & tender. The lady at the counter was friendly, knowledgeable & helpful. All in all, a great experience!

Once you have tasted it, you will know you are in the right place.They smoke salmon, halibut, oysters, tuna, sturgeon, black cod, trout, prawns, and mussels.There is no one anywhere up and down the Coast of Oregon that smokes fish like Jacobsons. The best is worth the drive from wherever you are. You wont be disappointed!!!

Ive had a LOT of smoked fish in my life and this, by far, is the best Ive ever had. Their process makes the most moist, mouthwatering fish. You take a bite and it just melts. Most smoked fish is very salty. Not here. They let the fish shine alone. Give it a taste before you leave because youll want to go back and get more.

Absolutely amazing smoked salmon! My favorite is the Peppered Smoked Salmon. So yummy! Always come here to buy smoked salmon every time I travel to Astoria. All fish is smoked on-site. They are smoked fish masters! Definitely recommend you stop here!

Great smoked fish! Prices are very comparable with other smoke houses in the area. Staff is friendly and helpful with choosing product by letting you sample and asking questions about your taste preferences. Personally, the smoked tuna is killer, and the salmon jerky is highly addictive!

I love smoked salmon, so when we drove past we just had to stop in to see what it was all about. We sampled and then bought some of the smoked salmon. They have a variety of flavors that were all really good- wine maple, garlic pepper, a few others. We also sampled some of the smoked scallops. The person working here was very nice and chatty. It’s on the pricier side, but it seemed to be good quality. Definitely worth stopping in during a trip to Astoria.

One of the few restaurants in Astoria worth returning to.Even if youre not a big fan of smoked fish, this is worth a try. The smoked items are moist, flavorful, and not heavily smoky.Best dish is the salad with wine maple salmon, accompanied by firm fresh tomatoes & blueberries. You will not need salad dressing.Second best is lox on a bagel. Most restaurant lox is overly smoky; Josephsons is mild and tender, and not smoky at all.Easy off-street parking. Friendly service too.

Excellent quality and selection of smoked fish, a must stop for people who love seafood. The lunch area is pretty decent too, serving clam chowder, bagels with smoked fish as well as salad.

Oh man, this place! For a fish town, it doesnt get much better than the salmon youll find at Josephsons. The wine maple salmon bits are as addictive as any candy Ive ever met, and the service is incredibly friendly. Theyll let you sample most anything in the case, recommend what, say, smoked prawns pair best with -- and the back of the house serves up a mean cup of chowder. Definitely worth a visit if youre a fan of seafood.
