Jorge's Rope Swing - Tourist attraction in Flores, Guatemala
Very chilled, fun swings, nice diving platform, and great place to hang around.
Very rude! Our kayak filled with water and startet sinking so we had to stop close to the place. We still kept our distance not to disturb anyone since we didn’t want to enter but just get rid of the water. The owner came walking over and told us we had to pay 50Q. I tried to explain to him our situation (in spanishand told him we would leave right away. He did not care and started threatening us, we had to pay or we would get in trouble with him. Never had a bad experience like this in all those months traveling Central America. Would not recommend going there.
Super fun! There’s an entrance fee of Q25 and Gallo are also Q25. Easy access and warm water end of September.
We got there by taking a boat from Flores. Don’t pay more than a 100 QThe entrance fee is 25 QVery nice place with lots of hammocks and chairs. You can buy there beer and food. I really recommend bringing a snack with you.The jump rope to the water was really cool!Very quite place to enjoy the nature peacefully
Amazingly chill place. 25 Q entry fee. They sell drinks and snacks on site. You can spend hours here. Just take a one-way boat there for 25 Q, and then they can take you back for 25 Q when you wish. If you agree to book a return with the boatmen in Flores you will regret not having more time there :)
Its a really relaxing place with great service by the family that runs it
Great place to escape the heat of Flores! Try to not pay more than 25 quetzal p.p. for one way with the boat. You can order a boat back at Jorges place.Amazing place with adventure possibilities, to chill and relax. And enjoy good food and drinks at reasonable prices!
This place is amazing it should cost 45 cal for each direction from FloresYou can spend a whole chill day there !!
100% worth the trip. We kayaked out - a tough journey but well rewarded. Jorges Rope Swing is the perfect place to spend an afternoon relaxing by the lake and swinging. Good food, cheap drinks and a great atmosphere. You wont regret making the journey. We even saw an iguana.
Well worth the trip. Very relaxing in hammocks after a morning swim, I went at 8 am so I had the place to myself. Got to meet Jorge and saw how he has used his own rock quarry to build everything by himself and family.
Couldn’t make it here from Flores because of the insane price increase in the boat ride. I saw from previous travelers that it used to be 20Q return but it has increased to 75Q!! Can’t be paying that much for a 5 minute boat ride!
The place is nice and just a 5min boat ride away from Flores. The staff is not that enthusiastic about receiving visitors though, even though they sit on a gold mine.
Nice place to spend the day! You can relax and of course use the rope swing and platform. I recommend going the early afternoon, we were the only ones there!
Fun and chill place to hang out, take a swing and grab a beer.
Great place, loved the way you can climb higher and use the ropeswing to even go higher. (There is also a very small ropeswing if your scared of heights, and a cool place to relax)
Most relaxing place in Flores. Rope swing into the water. Small bar with food and drinks lots of space to sit. Spent 2 entire days there.
Rope swing into the warm waters of the lake. Some drinks available, Sun loungers and hammocks to sunbath & watch the sunset.2 x Rope swing (1 high & 1 low), high diving platform (about 8m).Need to get a boat there. Costs vary, we paid Q40 per person, for a return trip to Flores Island east side.
Nice spot to chill on the lake but water is quite dirty, and the stay is quite expensive: 50Q per person two ways from Flores, 25Q to enter, 25Q for a Corona beer, 40Q for a small meat pasta plate. Very unfriendly staff, you have to pay the minute you get off the boat, and upfront for food. Wouldn’t come back.
Lot of fun on swings and nice staff. Entrance 25 gqt. I was satisfied with fruit salad for 25 gqt. Rent kayak in Maraquya restaurant to get there (50gqt per day). It will take 25 mins to get there in chill tempo.
Awesome rope swing and has a good view.25Q Ferry, 25Q Entry, Drinks and food for sale on site, 25Q for beer
Decent place but they charge 25 quetzales to get in a rope swing, apparently it used to be 5 but now its higher. Its peaceful but not worth that much.
25 Q entrance even for children over 5. You even have to pay the entrance fee when you eat there. Food ok but also expensive. Water dirty and foamy. I recommend El Remate there the water is very clean.
Paid 25Q per person each way to the Jorges. Then it’s 25Q to enter. We were the only ones there. It was really nice and relaxing. The rope swing was very fun and safe.We ended up staying for about 5 hours just hanging out. We ordered nachos and a fruit salad for a light lunch. Fun place to go if you have a few hours to burn. You can also rent a Kayak for 50Q. It’s about a 20 min paddle.
We paid Q135 for a boat ride from Flores to Jorge‘s Rope Swing and back. I think there are cheaper options when you know where and how to ask. Entry is Q25 per person. Our boat driver told us that you are not allowed to bring your own food and drinks, at least they shouldn‘t see it at the entrance. Once you‘re in, it‘s fine. We brought our own pizza leftovers and a bottle of water, nobody cared ;)Swimming tubes cost Q10 each.View is really nice, rope swing is fun. Hammocks were not too comfortable. All in all, a nice experience.
Went here on my last day in Guatemala (10 day tripand have to say it was the high light of my trip. This old man Jorge meets you and takes you on a boat ride to his island, and there you can swim in the water, jump off the diving board/ rope swing. There are music and games provided, but not rowdy at all. Theres also food, it was just such a good time there relaxing, reading in a hammock and watching the sun go down. Definitely worth every penny. If youre planning your trip to Guatemala, Id definitely reserve half a day to just chill here!
Amazing spot to hang out for the day!! Jorges sells reasonably priced food and drinks and has chairs and a great rope swing. There is a small fee to visit for the day.
25Q boat ride there 25Q entree fee 25Q boat ride back. There is much more you can do on the island for this price. Guy was a tad creepy... it was just a few of us that were there. Needless to say. We did not go out on the road swing once we got there.
Took a kayak about 40 minutes from Flores. This place is simply magnificent! 25 Q entry beers 🍺 are 15 Q. Simple food items on the menu. Perfect way to spend a sunny day in Flores. Frequented by backpackers and locals. Use the bigger rope instead of the smaller one. The smaller one gets caught on the tree and is a bit dodgy.
Whats a spot if you like rope swings into water this is the spot biggest adrenaline rush ever
Love this place to chill out. Go there to relax, but dont expect too much about the nachos. Bring some snacks if you are planning to stay for a long time
Nice place to relax enjoy nature. And jump from 5 to 6 meters from a rope or trampoline.
Worth i! There arent many great places to swim in Flores. They also have a few drinks and nachos that you can order there, very cheaply priced!
Het here at around 4 ish and spend 2.5 hours drinking beer and Cuba libres and chill. Use all the diving boards and swings and then watch the sunset! Magical afternoon .
Fun swing and nice location. The board could hafe a fix. The drinks are quite cheap. Definitely a nice place to stay. Best come here by cayak. You can rent these for 25q/h or 100q/d in Flores. But you can also take a water taxi. Its also a nice location for some instagram shots. Make sure to come early to avoid having to many people here.
Amazing place to chill out and enjoy the view, nature, swim, spend time with friends. Hammocks included. We spend a few hours there after a long bus ride from Guatemala city, it was perfect to relax and enjoy the tranquility of the lake. Definitely recommended.
A couple of rope swings and a little bar for snacks and drinks. It has a few small levels to tan on which is nice but a lot of people throw their stuff all over the tanning beds and wonder off so if its peak season its hard to get a sunny spot to relax in.There is also a little structure to hang out in the shade including the main building. If you have nothing to do as you are in flores than go enjoy a dip and a drink .
Such an amazing day! Relaxed on the water with tubes. Had beach chairs, ordered a few cervesas, and the nachos! Couldnt have been more perfect 😊
Really nice place for just 10Q. You get access to jumping boards, float tubes, awesome rope swing and lakeside seats perfect for lounging and enjoying sunset. Also You can get snacks and drinks there
Fun place to hang out for the day. Beers are cheap and the swing is a lot of fun!
Nice place to chill for a few hours. Entry fee is 10 Q and the swings are good for a few tries. They have beach beds for chilling afterwards. Bar offers water and beer, nothing much else. You can bring your own food, as they dont offer a lot.
10Q to stay all day. Food is available to be bought and is well priced. There is a rope swing and a diving board into the warm waters of the Itsa lake. There is also hammocks and sun loungers and tubing rings for you to enjoy. You can get over to the island by a short kayak ride and feel like youre in a jungle paradise. Must do in Flores.
Great day out. We were early in the morning and totally alone. We had so much fun at the rope swing. Could have stay there all day. Cheap. Quiet. Beautiful. Scenic.
Fun place to kayak to if youre willing to spend about 25 minutes to get there from Flores! Not a whole lot going on, but a very pretty spot. 10Q fee to enter
Jorge and his family are very kind and hospitable. We called the number listed and his daughter came to pick us up at a better price. Once we arrived, we paid the 10Q entrance fee and were pleased to find a calm and positive environment. We consumed delicious nachos (with the perfect guacamole ratioand affordable drinks. A great place to escape the heat and spend an afternoon.
Awesome place to visit while your in Flores. You can rent kajaks and get there by yourself or ask someone with a motorboat. Would recommend 100%. I visited this place 3 times in 3 weeks.
This place is a great idea if you have a day free in Flores. Rent a canoe and row here or get one of the lanchas to drive for a small fee. The rope swing and the diving platform are great fun, we spent a good portion of the day jumping from both. They also sell food and drinks for reasonable rates. Definitely would do this again. Overall, a nice place to chill out and spend the afternoon.
Beautiful family run restaurant / rope swing on the lake. Great place to kayak from Flores for a few drinks and a swim.
Amazing place to spend an afternoon! The are is very laid back and the nachos are delicious. The jumps and swing are really fun and the water is warm and looks beautiful. Make sure to haggle the price of the water taxi, you shouldnt be paying more than 10q each way at most or you can do what I and many others did and rent a canoe for the day and go there in less than 15 mins and then go explore the rest of the lake.
A nice spot to come and hang out. The people I met there were a mix of locals and tourists, all of whom were very kind. There is a rope swing and a diving board, and the family only asks 10Q.
A cool place for challenging yourself with the rope and having fun in the water. You can also chill in cool area. Jorge and his family run this place and also provide delicious food an drinks (beer included)
