Of all of the places that have been shuttered this one I miss the most. No where else does a tomato soup & grilled cheese like Jones and this is the season for it. I really hope to see this place come back and soon. 🤞🏼🤞🏼

This is a must try. It is near the liberty bell. Go for breakfast, lunch or dinner!! Get the chicken and waffles and you wont be disappointed. I asked for all dark meat but usually it comes with a breast, a thigh and a leg I believe. Its not expensive but looks high class.Try it out! We went 3 times in our 1 week stay.

Always Great Sunday Brunch vibes....We made reservations to ensure that which what was already limited seating, we had a seatFace temperature scans were taken the moment you entered. Servers had there COVID-19 gear on. We felt cool and "safe" to eat inside for be 90mins alotted.Customer service was great, food always yummy, hats off to the kitchen, mod designs with the built-in stone fireplace gives a funky throwback vibe. Only negative was the air was on, definitely made for a chilly brunch. Considering it was already a very very windy day. Matter fact, soo much so that outdoor seating has to end, patrons were moved inside due to the winds knocking table umbrellas down.Although I got green tea this me around, its a must you try the Mimosas with the flavored purees. Sooo delish!!

So glad Jones was able to reopen! Very Covid safe. Every precaution was taken for indoor dining. Plexiglass shields around every table, temperature taken at the door, social distancing markers and directions on the floor and all staff wore masks and face shields. The menu was limited and my husband was disappointed they only had one soup choice. However we were able to find some delicious choices on the menu. I had the chopped seafood salad which was very fresh and a generous portion. Hubby had the burger with shoestring fries, he enjoyed both. I also ordered the crispy zucchini which contained some of my food allergies so the chef hand breaded a special order just for me! Wishing Jones continued success as we all navigate these challenging times.

Definitely Great comfort food spot. The chicken breast was flavorful, The burger was tasty. Didnt have the waffles. Next time. Staff and managers were very helpful. My only gripe at a quarter to 6 was, they ran out of mint for the mojitos. Smh. I wound up not having any other drinks. I have mojitos more than any other drink. Them not having mint, isnt a deal breaker. Will go back when in town again. Hopefully covid will be gone. P.. They have a high Tech screen-temperature gauge before you go into the establishment

To make a long story short, the menu has been reduced to a skeleton of its former self. And the options they have chosen to retain are disappointing. 3 boring appetizers, basic salads , and entree list of 9 choices, with only the burger and fried chicken and waffles as standouts. I try to eat somewhat healthy fare, but I felt as if I was stuck between a rock and deep fryer. I opted for the flounder...steam rolled, and fried with about 5 pounds of greasy breading with a “fancy” side of shoestring fries. The standout on the plate was the tiny cup of dry coleslaw. Honestly it was the best thing about the dish. Drink menu was far more expansive (except I don’t drink and may come in handy to help distract you from the swansons TV dinners disguised as “entrees”. All in all we dropped $70 for something we could have microwaved at home for $12. Skip the boring dessert menu and burn off some of the slop with a walk to Franklin Fountain for some of the best ice cream in the city. Youll quickly forget about the Jones experience.I can say the restaurant was clean, indoors and out. They have heat lamps set up for outdoor seating. Service was pleasant and the staff was fully masked and waiters wore face shields. I hope a revamp of the menu happens soon. I will not go back until that happens.

Where do I begin? The place is beautifully designed and decorated. The restaurant is very clean. The staff was attentive but not overbearing and prompt with their service. The low rating is because for the prices on the menu they could a least cook all food to order. Fresh food will always make or break a Restuarant! My Wife had the seafood cobb salad, which states on the in house menu to be served with lump crab. Unfortunately, my wifes meal came with claw meat. The salad was freshand tasty. I ordered the chicken and waffles and here is where the low rating comes from. The chicken is obviously frozen and reheated. The manager on duty attempted to convince me that they fry it in house in the basement and give it a TWO HOUR SHELF LIFE UNDER HEAT LAMPS. LOL. As a retired Chef i was completely insulted. Even if his claim was truthful, you still served 2 hour old chicken in a "fine dining" establishment. I offered to order another if he would kindly enjoy the meal with me. He declined. Beautiful restaurant with mediocre food because lets be honest... how can you mess up a cold salad. Dine with caution. If frozen food is ok with you youll enjoy the experience. If you want fresh food, Morimotos is literally 50ft away.

We came here for a friends surprise party and I thought this place was really really nice. Not too expensive and the atmosphere is AMAZING. Dim lighting with seating in cool/comfy chairs and although it seems to be more of a place thats more suitable for a date with a significant other, we all reallt enjoyed it.They accommodated our whole party (even with us arriving pretty earlyand the staff was very friendly. The waitress seemed a little busy, but was never slow or didnt mind us asking for refills or anything else we needed. She even gave a recommendation that the birthday girl really enjoyed. As I said, with the atmosphere and location in the city, I was expecting more expensive, but everything was pretty fairly priced. Im not really a soda drinker or specialty drink kind of person, but I know one of my friends thought that the specialty drink was a bit on the expensive side (and at least while we were here, refills costed extra, so watch out with that)!

Pretty good food, great atmosphere. Its comfort food, so blahh, who am I to judge, not my first choice, and I should have ordered something healthier, would probably have felt better about the whole thing. Its popular, so I think people like the food. Nice location.

Breakfast Sunday morning after a long Saturday night out, their waffles, pancakes, egg plates and French toast were all well reviewed by the group. Most important was the coffee which was great. A hip diner feel with great food and atmosphere.

Retro chic, fun diner atmosphere! We had a great waitress, and the food is amazingly delicious. It was expensive ($12-$20/plate), but considering location and taste, it was worth it. Kids menu is not printed, only verbal. Fun stop on our Philly tour of Independence! Looked like a power lunch spot foe locals too. Half the menu was adult beverages if you are looking for that, but still had a family friendly feel. Highly recommend!

Came for brunch on a Saturday and was conveniently seated without a wait. Chocolate chip pancakes needed more chocolate chips, and the cheesteak omelette was fairly bland. The matza ball soup was great however, and the menu was fairly priced overall.

Wow. Everyone just had an awesome meal. Went with a large party (10 peopleand everyone loved their meals. Great service and the Seared Tuna was cooked perfectly. My wifes Cobb Salad was awesome and my kids loved the Thanksgiving Dinner. I sampled some of it and agree. Definitely going back.

A group of 8 of us started a bachelorette weekend with lunch at this great spot. We all loved our meals and it was great that breakfast was still an option. I loved that the fries were so thin too. I will be returning on another visit to Philly and Id recommend it for sure.

I first ordered the Thanksgiving Turkey meal and I didnt like it. My cousin suggested I send it back which Ive never done but i did and they were very polite about it. I asked can they replace it with the chicken and waffles and they did. The manager came and brought me the food and asked if there was a particular reason I didnt like the 1st meal and I just explained I think it was just not how I preferred it cooked. The waffle was delicious and the chicken was good(although slightly salty). However every single appetizer we ordered was delicious. We had the: Zucchini Frites, Calamari and Nachos. They were all prepared very well. Ill definitely go back again.

Good food, good value, nice service and in a good looking restaurant.Possibly not a foodie destination, we had Cobb salad, fried chicken and turkey clubs, but if you are looking for simple food this place does it well.Beer choice interesting, and the wine quality good.

This was a nice little soot for dinner. Nothing crazy, but the food was good, it’s kind of like diner food but good quality. The fried chicken was realllly good and their French fries were also really good. This restaurant has an interesting vibe. It was dark inside and also had carpet which was strange to me. I’d suggest checking this place out. We made a reservation on a Saturday night for 8:30 but we probably didn’t need one.

Brings back comfort food and takes it up to a whole new level. My grilled cheese and tomato soup was incredible. Been here several times... Service is a little slow and always difficult to get a drink or extra salad dressing, but overall good experience. Shrimp and grits alone would make it a worthwhile visit!

After searching the area for lunch on a short Philly day trip, we finally decided on Jones, and Im glad we did. Its got a really cool atmosphere inside, retro and comfortable. The open kitchen is also always a nice touch. We got seated right away despite the place being pretty packed out and ended up at a little table by the fireplace. Our server got over to us right away and was friendly and prompt throughout the meal. For food, I went with the Backyard Burger, and it was just how it was billed. Extremely flavorful patty with all of the typical backyard fixings. The sesame seed bun brought it all together, and the mustard on it added so much to the taste. Im now a full-time believer in mustard on burgers and Ill die on that hill if I have to. It came with a side of crispy shoestring fries to complete a perfect comfort meal. Washed down with a Naragansett, my lunch was fantastic all around. My fiance got a Cobb Salad which she also very much enjoyed, and the portion was large.Im happy to have gone here, because now I know that its a solid choice whenever we visit Philly again.

Reception was very friendly. Food was hot and plentiful. Meatloaf was better than the turkey which seemed processed. Fried chicken with fries was even better. Deviled eggs got three thumbs up too. Kind server, attentive but not overly. Good find...

Start with the Nachos or Mac and Cheese. You cant go wrong with their famous Grilled Cheese and Tomato soup combo. Youre gonna be stuffed but you must get dessert because their milkshakes are top notch and served the right way, with a thick straw and whipped cream plus a cherry. They also serve an excellent brunch. Get a Bellini.

Jones was an experience! Great staff from the door to the wait staff (Shane)to the manager(Cameron). This place is busy for Saturday brunch so our wait was supposed to be 40 minutes. They had us in our seats in less than 30! I took my mother and grandmother for chicken and waffles, my grandmothers FAVORITE dish. They enjoyed every bite and so did I. Were always apprehensive when trying a new restaurant for chicken and waffles but the chicken was well seasoned with crispy skin and the waffle was nice and soft!!Shane, our waiter, was exceptional! Super friendly, fast, and took care of every request my table threw at him (which was ALOT). I hate to ask a waiter for a thousand changes or extra this and that. My grandmother is unafraid to ask until everything is to her liking. Shane handled it like a champ.Cameron, the manager was fantastic as well. We spotted him picking up where service may have fell flat all around the restaurant. He had a really attentive eye and made sure every table was accommodated. Couldnt have asked for a better experience. We will be back!

Went for my birthday. Very nice restaurant. I ordered the shrimp and grits and it was delicious. My sister and brother ordered the chicken and waffles, the chicken was crunchy but tender and the waffles were crispy but had a soft interior. I ordered the hurricane as my drink and it was huge but so good.

The food here is the worst. If I had to describe the food in a word... Yuk!My wife and I was on our monthly outings where we came across Jones. I lucked up on a parking spot in Center City so we took that as a sign. The atmosphere is 5 stars, the staff is 5 stars, the drinks is 4 stars and the service was 5 stars however that food... Yuk! My wife had the shrimp and grits. The grits wasnt good, mostly salty with a weird texture and the shrimp still had the shells on it.. I dont mean the tail end but the whole damn shrimp. Who does that! I had the meatloaf, it was sweet and salty. Its almost like they mistakenly added too much salt so the decided to add sugar to balance it out... Nasty! Maybe there burgers and/or sandwich and fries are good but avoid the shrimp and grits and meatloaf.

Wonderful food and exceptional service. Our server, Emily, was very attentive, friendly and extremely knowledgeable about all of the dishes in the menu. The restaurant has great ambiance. The chicken and waffle is delicious. The chicken was tender and well seasoned and the waffle was light and full of flavor. The shrimp and cauliflower "grits" was a hit with my dinner companions. They raved about the gorgeous texture and flavor of the dish.

Love the Bloody Marys made to order! The food is good classic comfort food. The children love the fried chicken. The menu is not my personal favorite but they accommodate large parties with children and are near the historic sites. My only reason for deducting a star was slow service and a less than attentive hostess and waitress. However this did not prevent us from eating and having a nice time.

I personally didnt have a problem everything was good during this visit. The water glasses were clean. Tables were nicely spaced. Atmosphere was split between bar and restaurant. Son the lighting was just right. You could enjoy your dinner and still get a chance to watch a game or too. Menus were a little cruddy though they could use a cleaning.

The place is good, food looks really good, I just wish it tasted as good. I got the grilled cheese and tomato soup, the grilled cheese being pretty basic, it was good but the soup was awful! Too salty to even drink an entire spoonful! Fries were okay too. The fried chicken my husband got was very dry. Taste wise i definitely dont think its worth the price.
